Tri Auto is the best mechanic shop I've been to yet. Danny is a go-getter type dude and is always honest about what exactly you'll need done to fix the problem and how to do it for the cheapest price possible. I've been to his shop with three different cars and always left a satisfied customer. I've been quoted at some outrageously overpriced rates by other mechanic shops, where I'd hang up the phone laughing at the nerve of these rip-off artists. When you call Danny on the phone and you explain exactly what is wrong with your car to him, he will tell you EXACTLY what the price is going to be to fix it. No BS. No lies. Now, this in itself is incredible by any mechanic shop's standards, but it gets even better: When you go to take your car in after hanging up the phone, don't even tell him you called earlier, just explain the problem to him once again like it's your first time talking to him and see what he says. I GUARANTEE he will tell you the EXACT same thing and give you the same exact price quote! That's how honest this dude is. I've done this multiple times to see if he would try to get him to gouge the price on me (like almost all mechanics do), but the dude is honest to a fault. Same quote every single time. You end up paying exactly what was initially quoted over the phone in that first conversation. Pure integrity and absolutely no fuckery whatsoever. He'll even source different parts suppliers that you can go to (ones that don't deliver to his shop) to get the job done cheaper - you just go pick it up and bring it back to him and pay the labor fees. I mean, who does that???!! This guy is altruistic in his desire to help you. Aside from that, you can always judge a person's character just by careful observation. While sitting in the waiting area of his shop, you'll see like 50 medals from all the marathons he's ran. A person that seeks out personal accomplishments at this level, usually applies it to every facet of their life. This isn't your typical, donut-chomping, belly-hanging, no-smiling mechanic. This guy really is a go-getter. And then, you get to watch him field calls non-stop because his phone never stops blowing up. This dude needs a switchboard operator. Now you can really begin to appreciate the man's work ethic and integrity just by observing how fast he diagnoses the problems and crunches the numbers to give an exact price quote to customers. The dude is on fire! He usually doesn't have time to talk and schmooze with you, lol, because he's a no-nonsense go-getter, but you'll totally get it and appreciate what he does for you and all his customers. Go see this guy if you're having car trouble. An honest mechanic is hard to come by. As always, read the other reviews in their profile that these bad reviewers give Danny/Tri Auto and you'll begin to formulate a picture of what these people are really like. Danny and his son, also Danny, are good people. The service very good, friendly, timely and well priced. They do not try to upsell you anything and do only what is needed. They guarantee the work and they immediately re-did work a brake job for me that wasn't right because there was a glitch with one of their machines. They finish the work when promised and always call to let me know when it is done. Danny (senior) even called me at home after I had battery trouble just to see if I got home okay - that is outstanding customer care! They were recommended by a friend whose family have been going here with all of their vehicles for years. I've lived in Chino for 40 years and they have been the best in my experience. I would give them 5 stars but there was that one glitch, so I would give them 4.75 stars so far. I am confident they will earn 5 stars from me in time. read more

I don't trust 4~5 star ratings right away. I make some calls, make price comparisons, and see what I can find on the net before making the trip down to places. First thing I noticed when I called Danny was that his price was within reason, unlike some other places in the area such as A-1 Auto Expert. So I decided to give him a try. I went during work hours so I was anxious and wanted to be in and out. He was tending to his other customers but he tried his best to accommodate me even when I gave him a bit of attitude (admittedly ashamed). He looked at my vehicle and found that I had a leak in power steering hose AND told me that it's likely covered by Honda recall. He earned my business, possibly for a long time and I've got a lot of vehicles I can bring here. Also with my big maintenance coming up on my Acura his honesty will have earned him decent amount of business near future from me. read more

Really great service, exceptionally honest, and very fair pricing. First time there, I was referred by my uncle who lives in Chino Hills (I'm in Placentia), but it was worth the drive out there. He's been in business for close to two decades and was working at a Toyota dealer prior. Got quotes from some other auto shops close by, pricing was significantly better at Tri. Danny is the most honest mechanic you will ever find!!! He is busy and there is a reason.... because he is honest!!! Many people fear being ripped off by a mechanic and the answer to this fear is Danny Arteaga of Tri-Auto. He has been in the business for years and specializes in Toyota, Lexus, and Honda. Even if I lived an hour away, I would drive to Danny... he is that good! He will not sale you something you don't need and will find the most affordable parts to get the job done. For example, I recently took my car to Firestone for an alignment (Danny does not have the equipment to do alignments, so I go to Firestone for this service). Sure enough, in doing the alignment, they suggested I get new front break pads and rotors. I declined and took my car to Danny a couple days later. Although it turned out that I did need front break pads and rotors, Danny was way less! Firestone quoted $364 and Danny charged me $144. If you live anywhere near Chino, take your car to Tri-Auto... you won't regret it! read more

Danny is amazing! He was so friendly, patient, and willing to help. My fuse blew out so my radio, clock, and cigarette lighter weren't working... he was willing to take a look at it and replace the fuse (twice) without hesitation, and he didn't even charge me for this service when I offered to pay him. My car wouldn't start, and I don't have any family close in this area, so I didn't have anyone to take a look at my car. I walked a little less than half a mile to see if I can get someone to come take a look at it. I didn't realize that they only serviced Toyota's, Lexus', and Honda's but Danny was kind enough to not only go take a look at my car, but also give me a ride back home. Turns out it was just the battery, but he offered to come back again to jump start my car. He really saved me and he didn't have to. So, so thankful! read more

A friend told me about Danny. I finally went to his shop this past summer, and I have returned a couple of times. This guy is one of the nicest persons i have met and he is super honest! I told him to replace the drive belts because I thought they were due to be replaced. When I returned to pick up my car he said they only needed tightening. He has replaced my AC condenser (after i punctured it by hitting something while driving), both axles, and rear struts. His prices are significantly lower than the dealer and franchise shops. I have started to send friends to him. I suggest you are patient when waiting to speak with him...he will get to you and provide the level of individual attention he provides every customer. read more

Im so glad I found this place. I was actually referred to them by a toyota dealership. The guy who owns the place used to work for Toyota. His service and prices are EXCELLENT! He will be my mechanic for everything from now on. Im one very happy customer. He replaced my bearings on my toyota camry.. and it was only $85.. pepboys wanted $200 (this is the cost for labor only as i brought in the part from the dealer) and i cant even imagine what the dealer would charge me for labor so i didnt even bother. read more

I will never take my Honda anywhere else. Danny was recommended to us from a friend that has known this family for a while. We had had really bad luck in the pass with other places. Danny was so honest and reasonable. We have had several things done to our Honda Accord it's a 2000 and my husband drives it over 80 miles a day.
