Parking is easy and if you need gas, there's a shell literally right there. The menu is extensive. There were so many options that we did not know what to choose. Nonetheless, we wanted to try them all, but wish we had more people. We ordered: -Nachos (big portion and the chips were great) -Fish taco (nice and crispy) -Lengua burrito -Lengua chimichanga (so crispy, was one of our favs) -Lengua and al pastor crispy tacos (love the shell they used here) -Birria tacos (good, but not up there for us) Everything we tried was great. Loved that they had a chips and huge salsa/sauce bar. 10/10 would recommend. They have outdoor seating, which was perfect since we had dogs. They do not serve any alcohol, only have aqua frescas or horchata. However, there was a sign that said no alcohol behind this point (the street), so we bought some at the gas station and drank it in the patio.

We ordered from a very nice lady and the food came out within 10 minutes. The tortillas were fresh and you can tell they make the ingredients fresh. My quesadilla was huge and they did not skimp on the carne asada, which I greatly appreciated. The floutas were crisp and packed full of chicken and cheese. The enchiladas were devoured by my 15 year old. She said they were the best she's had. A great little place to grab some quality Mexican food for a decent price.

I asked for the sauces they put on top to be on the side. The pork inside the tamal was plentiful with just enough seasoning and masa shell. The cheese enchilada was good too and I appreciated the dollop of tasty guacamole/sour cream on top. I used a little of it as a dip for the tortilla chips that are served before the entrees. The refried beans were not salty and perfect with the fluffy, flavorful mexican rice. My friend stated her carne asada tostada bowl was delicious! Sitting inside here is like sitting in a large dining room in someone's cozy home. I only wish they would play some spanish guitar music in the background. Our server was a nice, younger gal who took care of us well. There's also seating outside but it's not warm enough weather yet for that. Take a nice Sunday drive out from the Valley to this place!

Actually lunch and dinner the next day was great since they give you so much food in their combination plates. I had the chile relleno (skip the red sauce) and a side of freshly made guacamole with chips. My husband had the combination plate (shredded beef taco and chicken tamale). Tasted like old school authentic Mexican food (at least what we think of as authentic). The rice was delicious, refried beans on point, but best of all the taco and tamale. Both delicious! My relleno was so good I kept thinking I should've ordered two, but there's always next time. The guacamole was freshly made (a bit too much lime for my taste, but I still managed to eat it all the following day). The restaurant was small and clean. Service was fine. We recommend this place if you're looking for a nice and casual lunch/dinner spot.

The quality of the burgers has been pretty consistent over the years, except for one time (as Sequoia) they ran out of tomatoes. Burgers are the star of the show, although the garlic fries are pretty damned good, too. There are only two problems with Pioneer Burger: first, the place is small. There's outside seating, but if the weather is hot, it's not fun to sit outside. Inside there are just a few tables, and it get stuffy, too. The second problem is that they're slow. It took a little over 30 minutes to get two burgers and an order of garlic fries the last time. They didn't seem overly busy, either, but it seems like they only prep one order at a time. A friend who lives within walking distance says that's been her experience, too. Here's a big plus that is not related to the food. They give local kids jobs. ETA: The bathroom has been clean every time I've used it. And you don't have to beg them for a key/code, either!
