Very delicious ice cream. Some of the employees were kind of rude but would definitely come back when in the area.

We stopped at Munnerlyns Ice Creamery on Saturday, September 5th, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. The staff was extremely rude, particularly the woman with the reddish-blonde/yellowish hair. We weren't greeted when we walked in. My mom and daughter were looking at the quart menu and "oohing and ahhing" over the flavors when we were abruptly asked, "Are you buying a quart or scoops?" My dad politely asked her to repeat herself, and she responded, "DO YOU WANT A QUART OR SCOOPS?" When we said we wanted scoops, she bluntly replied, "Then you're looking at the wrong menu. This is the menu for scoops." We were the only customers in the shop, yet we were repeatedly rushed with, "What would you like? What would you like?" I eventually had to tell her that we simply needed a moment to decide. When I ordered a junior scoop of cookies and cream in a cup, she snapped, "In a cup or a cone?!" even though I had just said "in a cup." Before I could even finish my order, she was already asking, "What else? What else can we get for you?" The entire interaction felt unnecessarily pushy and rude. The funniest part? Her attitude completely changed once she noticed my incredibly kind father had still left a tip. Suddenly, we got a smile and a "thank you." The ice cream itself was just okay, but the service was what really ruined the experience. This is a place my family and I have driven past for years on our way to our cabin, and we were excited to finally stop. Unfortunately, we won't be back. If you're serving people who are likely passing through, a simple greeting, a little patience, and basic courtesy would go a long way. read more

Staff was BEYOND rude! Especially the girl with the two blond streaks in front of her hair. The ice cream may have been delicious but something about the staff making zero eye contact, pushing the ice cream towards you like it's an inconvenience to her and saying "yeah" with an attitude in response to my thank you makes your ice cream gross! This is ice cream I crave when I'm not in town. So many good flavors! If you like coffee ice cream, the Kit Carson Crunk is the best you've ever had. The toasted almond is so so so good!!! Have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Every flavor is made in-house and they are original and oh so good! The girl who helped us was so sweet! I love Rocky Road so I had to have it. I got the double scoop on a waffle cone and let me tell you that was gone within minutes. Got our ice cream, got in the car and drove down the street for our burgers and fries. That's how long it lasted... It was delicious and will def be back for the other flavors! Wonderful ice cream, handcrafted on site in Pine Grove. There is always a wide variety of flavors to try. I had 2 scoops - one dark chocolate with zinfandel and one salted caramel. Both were terrific - creamy and rich - no artificial ingredients or shortcuts here! Hubs had a scoop of peanut butter pretzel and a scoop of lemon custard. He loves lemon. I usually, but this was delicious. We told the young man behind the counter how good it was and he told us that they squeezed fresh lemons just this morning to make it. All four flavors we tried were really good - but the lemon custard was transcendent! We will be back as really good ice cream is hard to find. BTW - the young man working the counter was helpful, patient and friendly. High marks for quality customer service as well as great ice cream! read more

Oh I treated myself today again driving home SR88 in Pine Grove, CA. I always stop for some fresh ice cream made here. Munnerly's Ice Cream is a little stop on the side of the road. A few tables/umbrellas outside for eating because there is no inside eating at all. Great place. Great Ice cream and nice friendly staff! A great snack stop if you are driving by and craving some ice cream goodness at a good price! This small ice cream shop is cute and quaint. I only wish they had some more seating since they just have one bench and a few bar stools inside so there isn't a space to eat. They rotate their flavors so you're always bound to stumble upon something new. The quality of ice cream is on par with the average ice cream shop. It taste good and does the job, it's nothing crazy impressive like the more premium ice cream shops that use more premium ingredients - however that's why their prices are cheaper! For the price, it's a great deal. It's a good size, I got the double junior and that's the same size as one scoop of their regular but you can get two flavors. I recommend for anyone with that sweet tooth craving and I would definitely stop by again if I was in the area! read more

Came to camp at Gold Country and stopped by at this homemade ice cream shop. Service is fast, despite it being a bit busy. I liked the lemon but didn't love it. I got it since it was recommended by one of the employees. I really loved the toasted almond ice cream though! There were real almonds inside and it was creamy while crunchy.
