Horrible customer service horrible staff, not knowledgeable or helpful at all. Dr .Tres and his nurse were nice. Appointment took over three hours and when I left, I had absolutely no information about the cataract surgery I went there for. They were supposed to call me back within 48 hours with information. They never called me back. I tried calling I left messages. I went online and left a contact us message , no one called me back in three weeks until the day before my next appointment by then I decided to go to someone else. I would not recommend. read more

It's a great place to go The staff is very welcoming and accommodating.Dr.Hansen is Wonderful. Just be prepared to wait,Get an appointment took several months,But all things considered they seem great to deal with so far.vNo complaints.i was fitted for glasses and was told they would be ready in 2 weeks or less which is fine Kim was a Doll to deal with choosing my glasses. Dr Hansen is Great, very pleasant but the scheduling is horrible! I've been waiting since October 2023 to see her again and of course my last 2 appointments have been rescheduled, today 3/13/24 I received a call an hour before my appointment to tell me they are rescheduling my appointment AGAIN but now not till May! Showed up for my appointment at the Rt. 520 Merritt Island office and was told the doctor was running 45 minutes late...I said it would have been nice if you texted me...the receptionist responded...we have no way to do that...no I'm sorry for any inconvenience....just we don't do that...so I said I received a text to remind me to be here on time, so if you don't have a way to do that maybe you could have called...again no apology just asked for my information...she then told me it's been a long time since I was there and that I needed to fill out ALL the new patient information...when I told her I had been there November 16th she said she couldn't find it in her system...I asked her to please check by my phone number, because they had the same problem when I called to make the appointment and they located my account and contact prescription information by using my phone number...she told me they have no way to do that...even though they obviously did!...again No I'm sorry let me see if someone here is more familiar with the system...so I told her thanks for all your help and I would find another eye doctor and left! I was told my glasses would arrive in about 2 weeks. I called to check the status at 2 1/2 weeks since the office didn't reach out to me. My glasses weren't ready and they didn't provide me an updated timeframe. I called again a week later due to no one following up with me and my glasses still weren't ready. They said they would call and see what was the hold up and would follow up with me. No one followed up. I stopped in a few days later to get an update. Still not ready, must be on back order. Should be here by Friday. Called Monday after no response. Still not ready and no reason as to why. it's been a month and no one can figure out why I paid hundreds of dollars and have no product. read more

The service at the Merritt Island office is the worst customer service I have ever received from any medical type office in my entire life--and I'm 70+ years old. They never answer their phone. It took 5 weeks for my trial contacts to arrive and after 3 weeks I'm still waiting for my final contacts to come in. In the meantime, I stopped by office today and was told person who could help me was at lunch but would call me back to let know why my contacts hadn't arrived. It's been 4 hours and no one has called. I will be changing eye doctors once I get my contacts. read more

Dr Tres is the best eye surgeon which is probably why waiting times are so long. The wait is much longer in south Florida. I'm thankful for him saving my sight. I've heard of two patients of different Drs whose sight remained the same or worse after surgery. I ran into another of Dr Tres' patients in my dentist office who like myself praised Dr Tres' surgery for return of sight. I haven't seen this well in a long time. Many patients like myself must receive monthly injections to keep from going blind. These patients can't be told no appointment is available but are thankful to get that necessary treatment with long waiting time being worked in. Dr. Tres comes in very early to give injections and it may seem like an assembly line but he knows his job well. He's the most caring Dr and there's a reason he's in high demand. When I have trouble getting an appointment or a long wait that tells me I've found the best. read more

Both of my parents were refused as patients because of their medical insurance even though the office is within their network. The insurance provider has called as well as my parents but no call is ever returned. The office manager refuses to even speak to them when called directly. My mother has a cyst on her eye and my father has an infection but both have been refused treatment due to their insurance provider. Appalling that someone can call themselves a Dr and refuse to treat people in need. The mighty $$$ is most important with this practice, not the care and treatment of its patients. read more

Went to Brevard Eye I told that I only wanted after cataract removal one lens for distance the other eye one to read.They told me that it would be $250.out of pocket because the insurance did not cover all. I said thank you and was leaving when one of the managers called me.I stoped she told me they could do It for $125. if I left a good review on the internet .I agreed.One eye they inserted the lens for distance. I reminded the staff that in other eye they were to insert the lens for reading They inserted another distance lens.They said that procedure was more.If they had told me they were not going to do it I would have waited to get money.Now at 70 with very limited resources I had to buy reading glasses.Will have to have one lens replaced by reading one.BREVARD EYE I was better before the operation. Spent 5 minutes on phone with receptionist clearing it up, then had to do it all over in person once I got here because apparently she didn't actually do anything with the information. I took a friend for an eye exam and We were treated very well. We didn't wait long and the doctor and assistant were very good with her. Then we returned another day to get glasses and work with the optician. It was a Wednesday afternoon and there was no optician available that day. I had driven for half an hour to get there. I was shocked that no one would be available on a normal work day. I just called today and he is leaving at 3PM. Not very good service. read more

I've gone to this eye center for approximately 10 years and have always been extremely pleased with caring manner from doctors and staff. Dr. TRe did my eye surgery and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a expert caring person to do your surgery and follow up. I haven't had any trouble and can see fine without glasses now. I have been with Merritt Island Brevard Eye Ctr for many years (even after moving to Melbourne. After suffering a mild stroke in one eye they needed to see me every 3 months. When I broke a bone in right foot and was unable to drive they rescheduled my appointment to Jan 2nd. On the second at about 9:30 am I decided to call and verify. I was unable to get anyone on the phone and finally got hold of someone in Melbourne who said they had no Dr available today at the MI office and they also were unable to see me. MY problem with this is that NO ONE bothered to call or e mail me of the cancellation. Had I not called I would have driven all the was up there needlessly. This kind of practice is totally unacceptable. Therefore, i AM CHANGING DR'S AS OF TODAY. They probably could care less. read more

Why isn't there a zero star rating! No customer service, rude front desk, inflexible, rushing doctor, always late, incompetent....shall I go on? I went there last year and I loved the doctor but waited hours! I ordered trial contact lenses and it took months, finally ordered lenses and it took another month!! They are in my plan so I, stupidly, went back again this year with the same result plus a very brusque doctor. The office staff treated me as if they are doing me a favor seeing me! Again, ordered trial as my lenses were discontinued, and again the same results. 16 days went by before my lenses were available to me, then they demanded what would be 2 hour appointments including the obligatory wait time for each pair of trials lenses, likely 10 more hours for a contact lens prescription! This office promises everything and delivers nothing. Avoid, avoid, avoid. read more
