We felt confident as we walked through homes and he pointed out things we never would have noticed. He was also very patient with us when we had no idea what we were doing -- as first time homebuyers, this was very important to us. A lot of questions were asked and Evan never gave the impression that he was annoyed or sick of us (haha). Definitely would recommend if you're looking to buy or sell a home in the greater Hartford area!

Incredibly Competent! Great Experience! Best Real Estate Agent!…read more My wife and I were first-time homebuyers. Evan Berman came highly recommended by a colleague of ours. Given current market conditions and uncertainty caused by the pandemic, we weren't sure what the home buying process would look like but thank goodness we had Evan on our side. We couldn't have asked for a better agent. He made the home buying process as smooth as possible with zero hiccups. Evan is very professional, knowledgeable, thorough and very responsive. He answered every single question we had, and then some. He is genuinely caring and always advocated with our best interest at heart. He has great connections with local home contractors, which have come in very handy, especially for first-time homebuyers like us. I highly recommend Evan and the Broder Group team to anyone looking to buy a house. I would definitely work with Evan again!

We were first-time buyers seeking a fixer-upper on a small budget. Kyle's eagle eye steered us away from problem properties and toward a charming turn-of-the-century house in Hartford within our budget and ability. I honestly believe Kyle paid for his own commission right off the bat when it came time to negotiate. Everything else he did for us was just icing. And he did a LOT. He helped us understand our home inspection report, including walking us through things you often find in a historic home, like older electrical. He gave us recommendations for everyone under the sun. Electricians, plumbers, house painters, roofers--Kyle's experience here runs deep. Kyle was an excellent sounding board for pretty much everything that came up. He offered advice on our somewhat unorthodox financing, helped me talk through steps I was nervous about and got us funds back when the seller didn't clear out his personal property. Actually, he's even fielded a couple questions since closing! We are now happily working on our fixer-upper for move-in day. If we ever sell, we know who we'll call.

Now I'm stuck battling this issue out with our landlord. This isn't something I wish on anyone who's paying good money to rent and be independent. Terrible shady people. Not to mention not very knowledgeable on basic renting questions that I had. The response that I received to my questions was "I don't know I don't live here." Do better A-List more like F-list. I would give - stars if I could. Specifically David and Grant in the West Hartford location.

We rented through A-List apartments when we first moved to West Hartford about 2 years ago. To say…read morethey were unprofessional would be an understatement. We were not told when moving in, that many of the apartments in our complex were reserved for low-income households. The majority of our neighbors did not work, and would loiter outside all day and all night. They would invite friends over constantly, and loud groups of cars would be in and out of the parking lot. We will take responsibility for not recognizing this, as we could have done further research or asked more questions before renting this apartment. We were young and eager to move into our first apartment. There is, however, no excuse for the lack of communication & professionalism with any complaints we had about our unit. We had MULTIPLE issues with our apartment's electricity, water (leaking/flooding from the upstairs unit), and safety (the windows would pop out of the unit, none of the fire alarms were up to code, and our oven started leaking gas). We had no direct line for maintenance. The number we'd been given was a machine automated answering service. We'd call multiple times and leave various messages for days on end and receive no response. When someone did ultimately call back once, they called from a blocked number so we still had no direct line of communication that we could contact again. After about 6 months of this, we tried to approach management. Rob Koff was the absolute most unprofessional and immature "adult" I have ever dealt with. He came on the attack, was completely unapologetic, acknowledged that the unit we were in was oversold (shows how desperately he will try to make a sale), and yelled and laughed at us over the phone. I have never been spoken to by a "professional" like this in my entire life, and never will again, as I will certainly never be dealing with A-List properties again. I do hate to generalize based off one experience. It seems from other reviews that other affiliates of A-List Apartments set the bar significantly higher than Rob Koff does. I hope that is the case! A-List - do yourself a favor and do not let your name be dragged down by such an unprofessional.
