OMG! What a great experience!…read more We had an amazing celebratory meal at Forma. It was our first time here and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. It is BYOB so feel free to bring a vino to enjoy with your meal. We had a party of six and started with meatballs, mozzarella sticks and beans and greens (which were all amazing)! I had the burrata chicken vodka pasta - so much food and the sauce is to die for! My sisters had the crab ravioli- again ..Amazing! My nephew - the chicken parm- it was huge and delicious! I live that sell food too in refrigerators when you walk in as well as teach classes. To me - this is an establishment you want close to home- to frequent often!

They did have iced tea. The mozzarella sticks were delicious, as was the sauce served with them. My fiancé said the stuffed peppers were amazing. The Caesar salad dressing was great. The wedding soup was the worst I've ever had and I love e wedding soup, so I get it almost every time it's an option. There was no flavor at all. There were carrots in it, and the pasta used was cut up rigatoni. Zero stars for it. The other changes would be fine, but the broth had no flavor. Terrible. Get the Caesar salad instead. The main dishes we got were all great. Crab ravioli, meat ravioli, spaghetti and meat sauce, burrata à la vodka, chicken parm, & chicken piccata - yummy. We recommend them all and everyone has leftovers. The prices are very good for all the food you get. We will definitely return. Very little parking that is designated for them, but lots of street parking in Sewickley.

Downstairs they have a hallway with the history of the family and the creation of the Hyeholde .. don't miss it! My husband and I went for an early Mothers Day dinner and we can't wait to go back for the chef's table experience. My husband enjoyed the elk dish while I enjoyed the halibut. Crème brûlée was delicious and the chocolate covered spoon was a nice touch. This is very much an experience dinner so expect $$$$.

Hyeholde is a unique dining experience. You drive up to what is quite literally a castle, and once…read moreyou arrive there is mandatory valet parking. From there, you enter the restaurant and are greeted by the hostess. There seemed to be several different dining areas--an upstairs area, a room off to the side, and another dining room down a few steps. The lower dining room is also ADA accessible. I don't drink alcohol, so I was happy to see that they had a few mocktail options. We started with the heirloom tomato salad and OMG. This was genuinely one of the best things I've ever tasted. The peaches, basil sorbet, tomatoes, and that bite of vinegar were SO complementary. Every bite had something going on. I ate the entire thing myself and didn't even offer any to my husband, which probably says more than anything else I could write about it. We also tried the mushrooms, smoked olives, and grilled peaches. My husband really enjoyed the mushrooms and peaches. I was more indifferent toward those dishes--they were perfectly fine, but the tomato salad was such a standout that nothing else we had to start came close for me. For my entrée, I ordered the smoked cod rigatoni. This one unfortunately wasn't my favorite. It was fine, but there was an oddly gamey flavor to it that I couldn't quite put my finger on. I love smoked flavors, so I don't think it was simply the smokiness--there was just something about the flavor that didn't work for me. My husband ordered the halibut and absolutely loved it. For dessert, we shared the banana PB&J, and my husband also ordered an affogato. Interestingly, they used chocolate syrup in the affogato, which he had never had before, so that was a fun and unexpected twist. Overall, Hyeholde is absolutely worth experiencing at least once. The setting is beautiful and unlike almost anywhere else in Pittsburgh, the service and atmosphere make dinner feel like an occasion, and that heirloom tomato salad alone is something I'll be thinking about for a long time. Not every dish was a home run for me, but the ones that were really stood out.
