Let's start with the top 3 things that make this little secret (not so secret anymore) stay one of…read moremy favorites: Indoor Pool Quiet (location and # of rooms) Amazing Breakfasts Honestly, during COVID times... what can you ask for besides a small stay with only a few guests WITH an indoor pool in the middle of winter; less exposure and lost of fun for the kids. Don't get me wrong, the grounds are nice as well, but we were usually stuck by the pool I have been trying to drag all my friends with kids to Sue's place since my friend and I discovered back in Oct (?). It is just a wonderful place to come to. The B&B is a house with 4 rooms (5th as an add-on to another one only) and a enclosed pool area that has picnic seating and lounge chairs, hot tub and entry lounge area with a dining table that we used to eat dinners and lunches by the pool. The rooms were pretty quiet - the downstairs one is ADA compliant and ok for pets, but we loved this room most because it was open to the pool area. Just keep in mind that this room tends to run colder than the other 3 rooms in the house for those of you who are sensitive to the cold. Above the pool-side room is what I like to call "honeymoon suite" it has a nice bed area with deck overlooking the pool and upstairs bathroom (i didnt get to try all those fancy buttons on the whirlpool tub, but I did end up having a tri-head shower along the way) The other 2 rooms are smaller, but one has an en-suite and the other has the hall bath with the option to book the room next to it for bigger parties. Do you know what else is nice? Sue leaves the Netflix and Amazon logged in on the TVs - I did not have to go through the annoying task of loading all of my accounts on and trying to remember to log-off when I was leaving. It is a really nice touch. Let's move on to my favorite part - THE FOOD. Holy smokes Sue can cook. Sure, I love her fancier meals, but the more homestyle, comfy ones area just... wow. I feel about 3x bigger just saying this. She will keep feeding you if you are still hungry (Don't judge.. I did get seconds almost EVERY time). She has a little refrigerator and though to stock it with drinks (who ever remembers to bring bottle water anyway?) and freezer with ice cream (the kids went nuts). Sue also leaves out the Keurig and a baked good on the table so you can help yourself to your ever expanding waistline as you relax in this quiet little retreat. I've been to some of the most incredible B&Bs (stuffy and not quite-so), but as nice as those were, I felt like I could put my hair down, relax with the kids, and just ENJOY my time with them as the pandemic raged on outside what felt like "home" to me. GO...and keep going (but not when I go - jk). Eat, swim, stroll the grounds, sleep...and just RELAX and let Sue handle everything - she's made for this

The awesome addition of having an indoor pool was great. You can swim or float your worries away. Susan is a wonderful host and her food is amazing. I'd recommend this B&B to anyone. I found the Adamstown Inn online, and it was reasonably priced, the photos didn't look like Great Aunt Gertrude's parlor, and every room had an en-suite fireplace (my one stipulation). We stayed 2 nights in the Topaz room at the Amethyst Inn. It was amazing. The Amethyst Inn is a big, old (but beautifully maintained) Victorian home, converted into the Inn. Our room was equal parts Victoriana (joie de vie wallpaper and a very ornate cast iron fireplace) and Country - beautiful antique oak furniture. The queen sized featherbed was luxurious and we slept like babies. The bathroom was updated, immaculate and the jacuzzi was amazing. Breakfast was to die for. Four courses each morning of fantastic, unique home cooked goodness. Everything was so fresh and amazing. Their coffee was great (and endless) as well! The staff was wonderful and warm, but not intrusive. They were incredibly thoughtful. Every day there was a small gift waiting for us on the bed, and when we left they gave us snacks for the road! It snowed overnight the 2nd night, and they even cleaned our car off for us before we woke up. This place is first rate, gourmet, beautifully decorated and it is a wonderful respite away from Philadelphia. We, much like The Terminator, will be back.

Quant, friendly, and relaxing…read more The 1777 Americana Inn Bed & Breakfast, or Americana for short, is a Bed and Breakfast made from a converted antique home. It's run by a lovely couple who have thought of almost everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Most of the accommodations is handled with little human interaction: book your room online, get a digital code to use on the door the day of your check in, fill out a sheet for when you want breakfast, and enjoy your room. Every piece of wall and floor is covered in charming decor, most likely from the local Amish community, from handmade rugs, to cute paintings, to little figurines and plaques with wholesome quotes. In the rooms themselves, printed signs in big print show instructions on how to use your amenities. Breakfast was the highlight of my experience. Each breakfast is a mix of fresh fruit, a breakfast cake or pastry, and a home-made meal that changes every day. A lot of time and effort went into making each meal special, all of which accompanied by coffee and juice. Each morning on our stay, we were greeted by the extremely friendly owners. During my stay, my wife and I found a few extra surprises that we didn't know were included when we originally booked our stay: A study that's perfect for reading or playing chess, complimentary snacks and whiskey, bath salts for our hot tub that was included in our room, complimentary Hulu streaming service. A booklet in our room had the history of the town, local attractions, and the best nearby restaurants for dining in and taking out. An outdoor area with nice chairs and a fire-pit. There were a few minor nitpicks that might be a bigger deal for you than they were for me: during our stay, the towel hanger on the wall fell off, most likely due to a lose screw. The thin walls made it possible to hear other guests and the occasional car outside. The TV in the room is so small, that it was difficult to enjoy. Americana is a wonderfully charming B&B experience that made our Pennsylvania trip all the more special.

The first level was the living room and had a big screen TV with Hulu live included, plus access to log in to any other streaming service you subscribe to. The second level was a jacuzzi tub. My only minor complaint is that you can't see the TV from the tub. But it's the perfect size for 2 people and soaking in it felt amazing. My back was a bit sore and the jacuzzi made it feel better. The 3rd level was the bedroom. It had a TV with all the streaming services available, assuming you subscribe to them. The bed seemed small but still comfy for two. 10% of each booking of The Patriot is donated to a rotating military charity quarterly. My girlfriend is a military veteran so she loved the military theme of the décor and the charitable contribution. You have the option of 2 Breakfast times (8:30 & 9:30), and breakfast both days I was there was delicious. French toast one day and breakfast tacos the next day. I devoured each mouth watering breakfast. As a bonus the inn is next to a brewery that has good beer, cocktails and food! What more could I expect from a B&B? I shall return!

We started off each morning with coffee set up on the sideboard in the dining room which you could enjoy in the parlor. Breakfast was at 8:30 at a beautifully appointed table. Some type off muffin or coffee cake Cheryl had baked, fresh seasonal fruit cup, a delicious breakfast entree, a breakfast meat, orange juice and coffee or tea. The breakfast was luscious and filling. The grounds were well groomed and the 5 rooms were so nicely decorated with four poster beds with canopies. They were cozy with private baths. There was a sitting room at ground level with a flat screen tv. It was great and deserves a repeat visit ! Our first B & B experience, it will be hard to beat! Very pleased!

While we waited there were some chairs facing a small pond which we eagerly used. Janae was as prompt as promised and took us inside to check us in and show us to our room. We were given the key to our room and code to the door to the house. Janae was absolutely wonderful. Friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed, everything was nice. Odd though no television in our room ( no problem ) there was a radio though. Later we met David the owners son, he was pleasant and helpful too, giving us some ideas where we go for dinner. The house built in 1814 was wonderful.. Every time we turned around there was something new to spark our interest, the little details make all the difference. Our room was comfortable and the whole house was pristine. You can tell when someone really cares. I guess the owners were away, since we didn't get a chance to meet them. But Janae was great, she was there to serve breakfast, and we ate with another couple that came in that Friday night as well. Check out is a 10:00 and we did run a little late, but nothing was ever said about that. Were we comfortable? yes, were we happy we came? yes, would we come back? DEFINITELY. We come to the Lancaster several times a year, and we can see this becoming a place we would frequent again. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

This B&B is absolutely the definition of R&R! it was exceptionally peaceful in ways of sleep, comfort, and no one interrupts your peace back home or here!. The customer service is amazing! Kate(innkeeper), Brenda, Amy ( make your delicious Breakfast) if known in advance they make your breakfast specific for your dietary needs. The Caramel French Toasts & Baked Apple with maple granola on top was my favorite !!! . They all make your experience very homely and relaxing your entire week!. We ordered room service which you can choose that or dine at the table which most of the guest did. This was mine & my loves 1st B&B now it's his Go-to lol. When we arrived it felt like a super cool Mission-esq movie where you get an envelope from a old school phone booth with your name and 2 pieces of paper in it telling you (to proceed to your next mission lol jkn ) the ins & outs of everything. We got the Amaryllis Suite! the beds were overly comfy and soft guaranteed easily a wonderful sleep!. The closet had the soft robes and extras if needed, you honestly didn't have to leave your room unless you wanted a beverage!. The deck was nice any part of the day! The set up was so nice it was perfect for a romantic night dinner outside (but the wind was too much so we took it inside). The Jacuzzi was Hot, bubbly and sooo soothing (they provide you with the correct items to use, you can't bring/use your own stuff in the jacuzzi). The Vibe all around was peaceful , I even caught the Beautiful Sun rise from start to bloom!. It's no Hesitation I'd come here again and recommend it although I'd love to keep this wonderful Gem to myself! The secret of its amazing peaceful experience is already out of the bag!!. Next go I'm going to the Amazing outside Activity Amenities Wolf Sanctuary (Yes real ones), Barry's Classic Cars and several spots where the locals go ! The Exchange for Crab Beignets and Rooftop!!. See y'all in July for a week also!!
