This is an odd place. Admittedly it's not their fault that they're the only thrift store in the area now after Unique closed. What is weird is that they don't take credit or debit cards and the ATM in the back of the store is expensive.The prices also tend to be all over the place for their very spotty selection, sometimes I would go in and get a bunch of essentials for the house for very cheap. Another time I tried to buy some fabric and the woman wanted like $18 for it. The last few times I've went I was looking for specific items that most thrift stores have like a backpack, or some jeans and they didn't have anything so it's a strange place. read more

Treasures Depot is a discount store with tons of merchandise. Most of the items are new, but discounted off retail. They have a wide selection of items from furniture to bathroom vanities to garden tools and clothes. I found some gorgeous planters for my garden, and I also bought some very nice designer chairs. They had some great deals on shelving, curling irons (new!), heating pads (also new!), and other personal care items. You never know what you'll find! read more

They ALWAYS have something, some cheap unique thrill or fantasy item to complete your apartment decor. I always stop off in here before hunting on Etsy or Ebay. You can examine, measure for fit, see colors up close and avoid the expense and hassles of shipping as well. Shop here and cut to the chase. In fact, it's just better to stop in a few times a week to browse, because when you are NOT looking for something, you WILL find it. I was so glad when the Uneeq Thrift store closed across the street because this place is way better and the owners have a real eye for the unusual. For me, personally, I like finding something that someone else really loved and cherished, because then you take it home and set it up in just the right corner, you buy it and love it and everyone else around you will come to love it, too. Overall, it wouldn't hurt to stop by if you happened to be in the area. It is certainly a neighborhood thrift shop. Types of donations reflect the demographics of the residents living around there. However, it's a block north of the CTA Archer/35th. Orange Line station. Another thrift store directly faces the station, so I guess you can hit two (2) stores and can still be able to get on the "L." The reason I rendered a 3-star rating was due to the organizations. I understood that it was merely a thrift store and an extensive amount of digging and poking was definitely required. I have visited a few independent thrift and resale shops, and they took the time to merchandize with an intention to "revive" the value of items that were used, and often times, outdated. Unfortunately, it didn't feel the efforts were there. They ask for bag packs to be checked at the register. Many city thrift stores have a similar procedure. Treasures Depot is definitely a good thrift store. It is a big space with a large selection of things. It has everything from furniture to clothes to household items. Prices are generally pretty low, at least for household items and furniture. I can't speak for clothing, since I mostly don't shop for that kind of thing. Service is pretty hands-off, which I prefer, but helpful when asked for. It is cash-only, so be aware of that when you come in! On a recent visit, I found a pair of really beautiful designer Scandinavian chairs that had recently come in, and so hadn't been priced yet. The woman there at the time wasn't in charge of pricing, and so promptly sent a text and called the owner to get a price on them while I left the store to get some cash from an ATM. When I got back, she had just gotten the price, and saved the chairs for me, even though someone else wanted to buy them while I was out, which was much appreciated. There is abundant free parking on the street surrounding the store, and many ATMs close by, if you don't happen to have cash on you when you stop in. If you enjoy the hunt of the thrift shop experience (no resale boutique markup!), but don't want the crazy crowded-ness of Salvation Army and Unique's or just want something different, this is a good place to go. read more

I've been coming here for years! The name truly suites this place, you find so many treasures & the employees are the best.

Treasure's Depot is a wonderful thrift store if you know what to look for. After over three years here's what I've come to expect item wise: Clothing: A hodgepodge of clothing that is not particularly appealing to sort through. A lot of crazy pumps, a fair amount of bags, and some odds and ends. They have clothing, but it's not a clothing-centric thrift shop like most Uniques. Household: Another hodgepodge with a lot of duplicate appliances, but if you check in regularly you can find some great items for super cheap. I've found two Bialetti percolators -a 3 and 6 cupper- for 10 and $5 respectively. You have much better chances with dishes, but always keep an eye out. Furniture: THIS is why you come to Treasure's. Their furniture collection is ever-changing and often well-priced. Even if something seems overpriced, it's always a good bet to ask about it. They seem to want a healthy turnover rate and don't prefer items to take up space. I found a mobile island that was a little dinged up and missing a piece for the drawer. I asked the owner about it and he sold it to me for a discount. After a little TLC and a trip to the hardware store it has become one of my all-time favorite items! Misc: OK, maybe you come for this, too. They have some crazy trinkets, statues, jewelry, art, kids toys, etc. A lot of the store is an eccentric feast for the eyes with little gems stuffed on shelves and bric a brac everywhere. Overall: The store can be a little hectic from all the inventory, but it is never in a heap and the staff are very welcoming. It's rarely overcrowded and they've helped me moved stuff/offered a dolly several times. read more

I don't really want to give up this secret wonderland of fabulous thrifting, but I want them to stay in my neighborhood FOREVER. They are an independent shop, so its nothing like the chains. They get great furniture and ART. I have a BNB and have furnished the entire apartment from this place. (With serious style!!) Cermak grocrery is next door so I get a 2 for 1 trip by hitting it up about twice a week when I get my groceries. They seriously get new merchandise ALL THE TIME. I was riding back from an after school program and noticed this shop. Saw some old electronics in there and thought I'd take a look inside. I like to fix up old iPhones and seen they had old iPhone 4's that were dead and broken. Also noticed a dead 5S that showed no signs of life. They sold me the 5S for $5 which was crazy considering the screen alone goes for $20, but it was a generic screen so it could have been worth $5. The prices here are very great and would love to come back more often if I lived closer. Maybe once in awhile I'll stop by, definitely recommend this place! read more

This store was exactly what I needed when we moved. I was able to get a TV stand that was around $60. I was also offered a 10% discount for spending that amount. Most of the thrift shops in the city do not carry a wide selection of furniture, but this was not the case here. Books, picture frames, electronics and other small items all seemed to be in a great condition. I overheard it is best to come here at the end of the month when they restock and I could imagine I might be making another trip in the near future. read more

True to its name, the treasures depot is a great find for those looking to furnish or spruce up their home. We went to find quality furniture for our new apartment. Their selection of used furniture was impressive including a roll top desk, antique sofas, and hardwood coffee tables. We purchased a classic wooden desk for 90$ that would easily have fetched 300$ elsewhere. Will, the owner, helped us out a lot, even helping to carry the desk. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone already scouring craigslist or offerup to check here first. read more

This is my favorite thrift /resell shop.This place has every thing you could possible be looking for.I go there a lot because there invventory changes daily. I'm kind of excited every time they unlock the doors. Just a tip, try to get there early or go back in the mid afternoon. They bring in new stuff all day.I've bought almost all of my home appliances there. Great service and very friendly! Whenever my Mother from NYC visits, it's one of the first places she wants to go.They have everything, from rings to big screen TV's.
