I had surgery this past week at a local hospital. I was driven to my appointment by an Uber driver…read morewho dropped me off at the main entrance to the hospital. When I checked-in with the surgical department they asked me whether or not I had a ride home. I said, "Yes", my daughter would be booking me an Uber. The Charge Nurse and other medical staff told me I would not be allowed to take an Uber or Cab after the surgery because it was hospital policy. That if I could not find someone to personally pick me up and take me directly to my home then my surgery for that day would need to be cancelled. I have never heard of this type of hospital policy before. The nursing staff kept checking back with me about every 10 mins to see if I had a family member or other person to pick me up. I called my daughter who happened to be out of town and, also contacted another close friend and explained the situation. They contacted me back and told me that "DRIVING MISS DAISY" would be picking me up. I literally started laughing uncontrollably 'cause I thought my daughter was joking, BUT she wasn't. I informed the Charge Nurse and the nursing staff at the hospital that "DRIVING MISS DAISY" would be picking me up after surgery. WELL, I absolutely loved the movie "Driving Miss Daisy" and boy was I in for an amazing surprise! My personal driver's name was #Shaughn Killeen. He was right there waiting outside to pick me up right after the hospital discharged me. The trip home was incredible. Shaughn was extremely accommodating, asked if I was okay and if I needed anything to just let him know. He is a great conversationalist and very easy to talk to. We talked and laughed the entire trip back home. Shaughn is very professional and experienced. He is kind, and compassionate which goes a long way especially after having surgery. When I was dropped off at home he waited to ensure I got in okay, then left. This is a company I would 100% use their services for again. And if you book with #"DRIVING MISS DAISY", I highly recommend you request #Shaughn Killeen as your personal driver. You will be very happy you did! Thanks Shaughn! Hope to see you again soon :)

I got a fellow by the name of Sean (sp?) whose territory is NE Calgary and some of the SE. This guy was unbelievably great, he was as accommodating as possible on short notice, knows the city well, experienced in post-op pickups, sympathetic and friendly. Cheaper than cabs and willing to go above and beyond to help. Until I am able to drive again, I won't hesitate to call him again

Review of Diversified Transportation - Prince George, BC Division Working for the Diversified Transportation Prince George division has been one of the worst experiences of my career. The management team offers zero support and shows blatant disregard for driver safety. They create an environment where refusing unsafe work is met with subtle threats and pressure, effectively pushing drivers to comply with dangerous conditions or feel they have no choice but to leave. Management seems either unaware of or indifferent to hours-of-service laws, routinely pushing drivers to exceed legal boundaries. The two individuals they are bringing in to replace current drivers have reputations for irresponsibility and a lack of professionalism--hardly inspiring confidence in their leadership decisions. Safety standards are appalling. We are forced to drive buses with bald tires, unreliable transmissions, and gears that slip. These conditions are dangerous enough, but in winter, on icy hills, the risk to passengers is unacceptable. One long-standing employee was entirely removed from the schedule simply because she couldn't chain up tires four times a night in freezing conditions, despite a perfectly functional shuttle option that was removed solely to appease the company contracting Diversified. To make matters worse, Jessica, a manager, has turned the workplace into her personal domain. She hires friends, all of whom seem more focused on power games and wasting money on hotels and drinks than addressing glaring safety issues or supporting the drivers. This lack of professionalism and neglect for basic safety has left good drivers jobless or forced out for not being willing to endanger themselves or passengers. The entire management approach here is reckless, selfish, and utterly indifferent to the well-being of the team and passengers alike.

Wow, this service could improve by a million times and I'm not afraid to say it because I don't…read morethink there is a Handi-Bus user that wouldn't agree with me. I know first hand how frustrating their transport scheduling system is because when I was with my ex, he was injured and had to use Handi-Bus for awhile. Since then, I've had clients who use it. The fact that someone with a physical disability or cognitive challenges can safely get a ride somewhere in Calgary is awesome, but there are few positives beyond this. I won't explain the booking process, but good luck getting anywhere when you actually need or want to. A user is usually very early, can sometimes be late and getting picked up on time is like taking a shot in the dark. If the user can't read a book, operate a cell phone for calls or games or stay in a sheltered place while their patience is tested, they are often doomed for a long, miserable wait. I've seen it happen. Also, if you get dropped off somewhere and the circumstances are such that your plans have changed and you want or need to leave right away, good luck. You may be left there to wait for hours. The drop off and pick up time windows are huge. Think waiting for service from Telus. I am not exaggerating, my friends. I recognize that intentions are good and people donate hard earned money toward purchasing and operating a bus, but a serious overhaul would be required to make this a satisfactory service. I also acknowledge that there are some drivers and likely other employees that go out of their way to assist someone with an urgent matter, but this isn't enough to take the bad taste out of my mouth. It's a shame that the need is so great that people have to accept the status quo.
