    The mural across the street.

I am very happy to recommend this budget hotel to anyone passing through Eureka. We feel fortunate to have found it. The hotel we had planned on was booked up and the others in town that we contacted did not have reliable internet service. Travelodge gave excellent wifi delivery. The concierge was friendly, accommodating and efficient. The room was very clean. The bathroom was actually sparkling. The bed linens were crisp white and had even been ironed. The room is small but even with a king-sized bed, the room was well designed to comfortably hold two suitcases and a cooler. The refrigerator kept our travel food fresh. We were a bit disappointed the the fridge did not have a freezer for our ice packs. We especially liked that the room had cross ventilation windows allowing for a fresh breeze to pass through while the door was closed. The view from our window of the very professional mural on the supermarket wall across the street was delightful. The parking is very convenient, right outside your door. The parking lot is fenced, but there is no locking gate, so you have 24 hour access. The exterior is well-lit all night. There are many good restaurants nearby. Breakfast is in a small hospitality room. Dry cereal, oatmeal, delicious pastry products, juice and coffee are included in the very low price for a room. Each room has a table and two chairs so if the breakfast room is crowded it is comfortable to eat in which we did.

Look at the giant sag in the mattress. You get on it and you almost fall off the bed. Same with the other bed.

If I'm contacted by the establishment and offered a discount I will remove my review. Everything else was fine except for the two beds. The most important part that I needed honestly was to get a good nights sleep and the two beds look like poor old worn out horses. I literally woke up this morning with the worst neck ache that I've had in forever. And I was in the mountains sleeping in the back of my truck for a week. And I slept better than I did here. Oh well I should've just stayed in the back of my truck I just wanted to get clean and go back fishing

Certainly not worth around the $200 for the 2 nights we stayed. There's NO AIR CONDITIONING which should be told to the person reserving but they don't let you know til check-in. Pretty shady business move if you ask me, it's like lying by omission. Definitely much nicer places to stay within a mile or two for approximately the same price. Our rooms supposed to be nonsmoking but there's definitely recently been smoking in our room, they try masking the odor with cheap smelling chemicals. Bed is uncomfortable. Room was kinda clean, not terrible. TV, microwave, mini fridge, and WiFi work ok. Everything is just really cheaply made. Easy to tell they cut tons of corners to save money. Definitely won't stay again.. Only thing that's good is the water pressure and there's plenty of hot water for showers.

Requested ground floor because of handicap. Was given upper deck upon arrival. Clerk fumbled around and seemed to put us in the worst room in the whole place. Our front door is facing a cement wall. No windows in the front when every other room has them in front and back. Back window overlooks 2 fences and a parking lot. One crappy fan. Went and bought a box fan at Walmart. Tiny tv screen. Only 1/2 a roll of toilet paper in the entire room. Beds hard as a rock. No coffee maker in room despite accommodations listing that when I booked it. No ice bucket in room. Only thing I can say is that I don't think there are bed bugs.

Waste of your money very very very dirty and no service at all paid 187 for1 night disgusting....

    Rocks in bathroom.

Horrible. Checked in later in the day about 9 30. Was a nice young lady at the front desk. She was nice and inviting. Hot in room and there was hair on the beds and the tube. Dirty wash clothes and rocks in the bathroom. I had just had surgery so I wanted to sleep. We cleaned up the room our self's and then went to take a shower. Well the shower was clogged. Would not drain. Took 3 hours to drain 2 inches of water. When checking out wanted to let them know and the man was very rude. He yelled why I did swap rooms or this and that. I had said it was late and I'd just had surgery the day before so I'm hurting and tired from driving all-day. I did not want to deal with it so was letting them know so that the next guest had a better time then me. He said well I don't know what to tell you. Just very rude I'd give 0 stars.

Air-conditioner/heater Unit locked down in all the rooms!

It is dark inside and smells "old". Our room was nicely decorated in old Victorian. It was overlooking the corner of 2nd & C right over the Irish pub. Everything was clean and nice inside. Bathroom was small but well stocked with supplies. The issue is more with the area. We took a walk after we arrived through the marina and old town area and concluded that we didn't feel terribly safe. We decided to stay in after dark. There were plenty of homeless and very "sketchy" people walking around talking loudly to themselves, etc. Know the rooms have no air conditioning so the hosts opened a couple of windows facing C street, which we left open all night, hoping that street wouldn't be terribly noisy. Fortunately, the Irish pub below us closes around 9:00, and the Mexican restaurant across the street was the same. By 9:30 or so the street was very quiet with only the occasional car and lone, loud motorcycle around midnight. Also there is no TV in the room, so bring your own entertainment! The WiFi didn't work either. We couldn't find the WiFi the hosts provided on check in. Overall, this area of town is trying to revive and the hosts are trying to bring back this hotel. Just be aware!

All of the chairs in the dining room sink so low, you can just rest your chin on the table and shovel it in. What I found most problematic with this hotel is the lip service to ADA accommodations. There are no grab bars in the bathroom, not even soap dishes you could cling too if you slipped on the very slippery tub floor. The lighting and the switches to the lighting are incredible dim in the room making impossible to see with black on black backgrounds. For low visibility people, the randomly placed 'mood' lighting keeps people like me in the dark. Finally, for people with physical disabilities, getting one's luggage on a cart, then to an elevator, then into a room with extremely heavy doors that swing back so quickly, an injury is almost guaranteed. Unfortunately, I experienced all of this at Holiday Inn express in Eureka. I mentioned some of my difficulties to the registration desk, staff, and as nice as they were, they didn't care... they say they'll remodel next year, but if they really cared about providing accommodations for Americans with disabilities, they make the changes now.

As I mentioned, it was an older room, and there were a few chips and Nicks here and there, but that was just cosmetic. There is a desk to eat or work on, plugs to charge my gear, a TV with a good picture, the bathroom was spotless, it had a shower instead of a tub.
