    Brown smear on the wall.
    Veronica T.

The motel is overpriced for being super nasty. The rooms are non smoking so there were several people smoking in their cars and standing around outside smoking. The furniture is stained and there were stains on one of our pillows. I'm not sure what the brown smear is on the wall near the bed and on the bed skirt. It could be vomit. I wouldn't recommend staying here or even in this town.

    Breakfast.... yeah..

I've been to Eureka several times when my son was playing football out here. Now that he's in Minot ND, I don't come up. But my brother who lives in OR lives 5 hours from here and I live in Vallejo which is also 5 hours away, so we've decided that this is the in-between spot for us to have mini-reunions. Usually I say at the Clarion up the street, but they don't allow pets. Since my grandpuppy was coming with us, I had to find a "pet friendly" location. So, here we are. I arrived around 12:30pm and was able to check into one of our 2 rooms. It was located on the lower level on the corner of the building and street. Although you can hear the street, I liked being able to park my car right outside my window. Our room was very spacious with 2 queen beds, a small table with 2 chairs, a dresser with TV and a writing desk. The bathroom has a jacuzzi style tub however I don't think I'm brave enough to use it. Who knows how sanitary it could be? There is a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker in the bathroom. The furnishing were clean, but were getting worn. It is definately time to replace the furniture and the decor. Everything seems to be vintage early 80's. The bedding however was excellent. The mattress was comfortable and the bed was double sheeted. Each bed had 4 pillows and there was an extra pillow and blanket available. The only drawback for the business traveler was the lack of electrical outlets. There wasn't any by the desk so I had to plug my laptop in and work from the table. Which meant that I couldn't use the phone if I had wanted to, since it was located on the desk. I'd suggest they get power strips and if you are traveling here in the near future, bring your own. I checked on the Continental Breakfast and yup, it's continental. We arrived while the coffee was being refreshed. Unfortunately for me, the decaf was gone and wasn't replenished yet. There were a choice of cold cereals, Swenhards Danish, Bagels, english muffins, oj, apple juice and milk. I overheard one of the other customers comment that the bowls weren't out for the cereal. Certainly not up to the same quality and level we are used to at the Claritin. Again, if it weren't for the puppy, you know where I would be. No worries, I'm going to have breakfast at the Samoa Cookhouse, if I can wake my brother up. Normally this location wouldn't be up to my usual standards, but it is very hard to find a place to take your puppy. Price - $84 Weekend AAA in March w/puppy (3 adults) Price - $70 Weekend AAA in March w/o puppy (2 adults) PS - Don't get room # 27, I noticed that it is adjacent to the housekeeping office and I imagine it could be quite noisy.

    Casper enjoying my bed!
    Theresia D.

Ok so first off I love the fact that they allow dog's because Casper will almost always be on my vacation's with me, lol! We walked in and he was extremly happy, lol, he being my dog Casper of course! He sniffed out every little nook and cranny and made sure it was up to par which it mos def was! After sniffing around for about an hour he finally crashed on the bed for nearly 2 hours, lol! Lets not forget to mention that they did have Jacuzzi tubs just like Joshua W. Mentioned! As for me my wifi connection was really good, although maybe that is because we were on the side of the hotel that is closer to the Super 8, lol, so maybe we were picking up the wifi connection from two spots, lmao!

Overflowing garbage was a health hazard.

It was fine for one night but I don't know if I would choose the same type room if staying longer. The hotel has some history behind it and can be a little creepy if you decide to walk around at night by yourself. Our room was #16, located on the second floor. The room was a decent size with a sitting area with two chairs and a settee and a small armoire to hang your clothes. The bathroom was small with a walk in shower but the shower pressure was good and the water was warm. No air conditioning but there was an industrial oscillating fan in the room. Unfortunately, I didn't find the bed too comfortable and the headboard creaked a lot but it was ok for just one night. Taylor at the front desk when we checked in was very helpful and informative. We left early, around 8am and they had a complimentary breakfast available for guests consisting of bagels, sweet pastries, fruit, Tillamook cheese and sliced tomatoes and cucumbers which I presume are for the bagels. Cute spread!

It is dark inside and smells "old". Our room was nicely decorated in old Victorian. It was overlooking the corner of 2nd & C right over the Irish pub. Everything was clean and nice inside. Bathroom was small but well stocked with supplies. The issue is more with the area. We took a walk after we arrived through the marina and old town area and concluded that we didn't feel terribly safe. We decided to stay in after dark. There were plenty of homeless and very "sketchy" people walking around talking loudly to themselves, etc. Know the rooms have no air conditioning so the hosts opened a couple of windows facing C street, which we left open all night, hoping that street wouldn't be terribly noisy. Fortunately, the Irish pub below us closes around 9:00, and the Mexican restaurant across the street was the same. By 9:30 or so the street was very quiet with only the occasional car and lone, loud motorcycle around midnight. Also there is no TV in the room, so bring your own entertainment! The WiFi didn't work either. We couldn't find the WiFi the hosts provided on check in. Overall, this area of town is trying to revive and the hosts are trying to bring back this hotel. Just be aware!

The beds seemed to be firm and the pillows were comfortable. My husband and I had a good night sleep. They offer hard and soft pillows and they are labeled as such on the pillowcases. Never seen that at a hotel before. Room came with a microwave & fridge which was nice to keep our snacks and water cool for the next days journey. Breakfast was complimentary, lots to offer. Eggs, turkey & pork sausage pancakes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice and more that I don't remember. The offer onsite laundry room, a pool and jacuzzi and a workout gym. One of the things I look for when booking a hotel is the parking situation (since I'm horrible at backing-up, parking in tight spaces, etc) but this location did not disappoint me, there are plenty parking spaces available and it's an easy in and out. Our check-in was quick and efficient. Front desk staff is very friendly. The lobby is modern and chic. They have plenty of tables, couches and chairs that create a comfortable and cozy atmosphere for people-watching, play card games, dining, etc. Did I mention they have fresh coffee 24/7...yes please! Our room was spacious, clean and most importantly; the bed was super comfy. The indoor pool was a plus for families traveling with children, it looked nice and warm (I did not use it) but other guests seem to be having a blast. The breakfast bar is your typical Continental Breakfast, it was nice, fresh and tasty. I definitely recommend this Hotel while visiting Eureka. Enjoy your stay!
