Normally stay at best western near the freeway. Booked a couple of rooms at America's Best for family. No other hotel rooms available there, so i booked at travelers inn for my husband and I. Being homeless at the moment, I was given a gift to stay here for a few days. Given that Manteca and Lathrop's motels are so expensive, it is no surprise to see $65 for a room with a full-sized bed. The room was probably luxuriously big for the 1950s and driving from the SF Bay Area, people were probably surprised to find such a motor inn here. In 2016, they will think the wrong things most likely. The facilities are old and some things are worn but it is clean and comfortable. Since I don't really live my life indoors, it is a fine place to sleep. The person who gave me this gift had trouble contacting anyone, and the front desk left her on hold. When we arrived, that person still had that one on hold. She had forgotten and apologized. Service was friendly, but perhaps not the most efficient. I have lived in this town since June 2014, and this is the first night that I have no heard the trains. That is definitely a plus. read more

I didn't have high expectations as I believe "you get what you pay for" but....... in a bind as most places were sold out, I opted for this dive. Awful is putting it nice. 1. Walking into a pitch dark room is not cool. We tried to plug in lamps only to find completely ruined plugs at the end. Out of the 4 lamps in the room, 1 worked. 2. Towels looked worse than the ones I use to wash my car. Tattered and torn and so rough on your skin, pretty sure I got a free exfoliation out of the deal. 3. Room smelled musty, probably from the unplugged fridge that was left wide open. 4. Outlets were overloaded and we were afraid to plug our phone chargers in. 5. I don't write many reviews on Yelp, so when I write one, it's because I feel very strongly about the place of business, whether it's positive or negative. I hold a strong negative opinion about Traveler's Inn. When I made a reservation on Priceline for two nights, the receipt page indicated that the Inn was Pet Friendly (https://i.imgur.com/bc1AjiB.png). I was in town visiting someone and I had my dog with me, and the Inn was the cheapest one in town that wasn't Motel 6, so picked them, despite the pretty terrible reviews on the Internet. All I need is a place to sleep and shower, so I'm okay with a cheap place. Never again. When I got the property, the door to get to the front desk was closed and locked. Another gentleman and I had to wait several minutes before we were helped. After the gentleman was served, I was next, but what do I see on the front desk? A sign that said No Pets Allowed. Uh what? It's 9:30pm at night, I already booked this motel, but there's no way I'm going to tell this lady I have a dog, because she won't let me stay. If I had a screenshot of the reservation, sure, but I didn't have it. So I kept my mouth shut, kept the dog in the car, got the room fob, drove to the stall nearest the room, and secrely brought the dog into the room. I knew that keeping the dog hidden was a risk, and I probably should have discussed this with the front desk, but I had no proof of the reservation receipt page to show the lady, and I was going to be allowed a room with my dog. Well the next morning, when I was discreetly transferring my dog from the room to my car to go on a walk, the front desk lady saw me and my dog. She walked to me, we had an argument, and it ended with me having to leave with no refund on the second night because I couldn't show her the page where I saw it was allowed. But I knew, I just knew, that I saw on my reservation that it was Pet Friendly. So as I got back to my computer where I made the reservation, I checked the history and screenshotted it to have a conversation with the lady at the motel so that I could get my refund back. Usually, all I want is a refund. But the fact that no one was at the front desk when I got there, the terrible shower stall, the terrible attitude of the lady when arguing with me that I was wrong, and the old man who was there for some reason and butting in the conversation - the whole thing was a total mess. I want to make sure the public knows how bad this motel is. Don't come here. I get that it's cheap, but seriously, don't give that lady any of your money. read more

The owners charged too much for the room. There was no microwave oven and the outlets were too loose to keep cords plugged in. The inside of the bathroom had a broken towel rack that could easily be fixed. All the owners have to do is go to Home Depot, but they never made the effort. The bathroom wall looked like someone kicked a hole in it on the base of the floor. The shower faucets need fixing so they look nice. The heater worked but you have to stand on a chair to turn it on. I found dirty socks underneath the bed that got overlooked. I had to throw them in the dumpster. In hindsight I should have left as soon as they quoted $79 per night. That wasn't stated on their website. You live and you learn. I won't be coming back. There are better hotels for cheaper prices. read more

Four of us reserved the room, family contributed to a week's stay. Day #1, hotel management tried to charge us for a new door for something that wasn't even damaged, then gave us a cocky smile with a comment of "We dont want trouble, here". Two parents, two little ones under 7, and we're causing trouble in the first 12 hours? Not a chance!! You gave to stand on a chair to turn the A/C off/on, and the rooms are generally smelly, not clean and unkept. There's literally 5 rooms in use, including us. Why is our room ignored? If not for bringing our own towels, we're outta those, too! Not even a hand towel! They also have the strongest chlorine smell I've ever experienced. A week later, WE are taking out our own garbage because housekeeping literally came by only 3 times! We had to wipe our butts with napkins because they made us go without toilet paper! By the time we complained about our garbage being left to overflow, they brought us garbage bags and MADE US change them, then told us to dump our OWN garbage at the bin outside! I'm outraged. What am I paying for? We are OUT tomorrow, staying somewhere that's not a dump and doesn't treat 'guests' this way. This place is a dump. It's obvious their income truly comes from the bar next door and the hotel is a secondary income because they treat their guests horrible! {P.S. they have a TERRIBLE ant problem, too.} read more

1 star is way too many for this Motel! I've lived in this town almost my whole life. At times I need to rent a room to clear my head and escape the chaos at my mothers house. I will NEVER EVER EVER rent a room from the TRAVELERS INN in Manteca, CA ever again! First of all the family that runs the place is extremely judgmental and predijuce! There are 4 sections of the motel, 1st section is where they put you if you are homeless, appear dirty or sweaty (they assume you are a tweeker or drug dealer) or if you have a Manteca address on your ID. (These are the small disgusting rooms with blood splattered on the walls, what appears to be feces on the curtain, broken toilet seat, black mold in the shower, you could scrap the nicotene off the walls with a paint scraper, and plenty of little "friends" to keep you company! It should be illegal for them to rent these rooms!) Section 2 is for Out-of-towners that are traveling thru (those are the rooms with the clean walls, tv's that work, lamps that function and the least amount of cockroaches.) Section 3 is where this disgusting family lives. And section 4 is for people that basically live there. Two days ago I had to humble myself and rent a room for me and my 11 year old son because everywhere else in town was sold out and my little man said "cmon mom it's better than nothing just get it." Not only did this witch charge me $75 for 1 night but she made me put a $30 deposit on a smoking room in section 1. Everything about this room was aweful but I was so tired i put my own blanket on the bed and curled up with my son and fell asleep. When I woke in the morning I felt horrible because my son had not slept a wink. He somehow got 2 lamps to turn on and the tv to come in enough to see a picture then he said he had to stay up to "keep watch". I said "for what honey? You poor guy, your eyes are blood shot, what happened why didn't you wake me up?" Then he told me that inside the lampshade it says "You are being watched!" So that scared him, he went to the bathroom and the blood drips on the wall freaked him out so he tried to just watch tv in the dark to fall asleep but cockroaches started running all over the walls. He knew I was exhausted so he pulled the chair next to the bed and turned the lamps and tv on and watched over me so cockroaches wouldn't get on me and whoever was watching us wouldn't get me. I hope this hotel gets condemned and the family that runs it becomes homeless and they are treated this way! read more

Yuck!!! Disgusting, filthy and kinda scary. Air Conditioner was a wall unit so high I could not reach it. They moved me to the only room with a regular wall unit. It was filthy. I paid for two nights to get out of the reservation. They should pay you to stay there. I have pictures. I was not able to secure the door because the lock was broken. The outside looks okay but the inside has not been updated since the 1950's and it has all the original filth. I made it through one night because I was so exhausted, but got out of there as fast as I could. I left my meds there in my rush to leave and when I phoned I was informed they had tossed them. More like stole them!!! The place should be shut down for violating health codes and the pics of the lobby are fictional. The family that owns and runs it has a very fancy Mercedes sitting in the drive. We know where their money goes and it is not back into the business. read more

Fleabag, Dive, No-Tel Motel, a Drug Dealer's Haven. I shouldn't even give this place one star. Even 1/2 of a star would be too generous. FILTHY, pubic hairs on a toilet that had the "Sanitary" seal on it. Hair on the bathroom floor as well. BLOOD on the MENDED, not REPLACED, curtains along with other "stains" from well... who knows. Fridge turned off because it didn't work. There is NO Restaurant at this place, even though it's advertised as having one on-site. There is NO "Business Center" at this place either. Their "bath towel" was sketchy (did NOT use). I wouldn't dry my dog off with it. Mattress was about 15 years old. Stained. Blanket had the binding falling off (they tucked that end into the foot of the bed). Yes. I stripped the bed. Bed bugs- can't be too careful these days (no Bed Bugs found, surprisingly enough) I wound up sleeping on the mattress protector as it seemed to be the cleanest thing on the bed, even though it was so old the elastic was not elastic anymore. Carpet dirty, walls filthy / in need of paint. Very dimly lit. The only reason I stayed here was because it was too late to go someplace else and I really didn't feel like dealing with the owner- who was incredibly rude and talked to me as if I were an imposition on them and whatever else they were doing. Trust me! In the long run, the price is NOT worth going through this nastiness. PAY the extra money and go stay at a hotel that is not a flea bag dive. Even Motel 6 is on a whole other level. Worst experiences at a hotel in my life. They have no concern about customer satisfaction or hospitality. The rooms and bathrooms are gross and barely cleaned if at all. They say they have tub shower combos but in half the rooms they. Dont have any tubs and in the other half the tubs dont let you close the drain to take a bath. Everyone who works here is rude and in the buisness of price gouging and trying to charge whatever they can to make an extra buck. The customer is never right is their motto. They refuse to do basic things like make a second room key for ya know both of the adults... If you bring something to their attention they dismiss it or try and charge you for it. Yea on paper they are the cheapest hotel in town but once you check out and rack up the fees your SOL . dont even think about trying to cancel a reservation either. They want that money and thats it. They dont care about you and your comfort or being hospitable. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Especially if you want to be treated with any kind of respect. read more

This place is the most disgusting place in the valley. The rooms have roaches running around they don't clean under the beds. The owner and his wife are super rude. I was in bed and the house keeper pounded on the door and said house keeping we have to clean the room. I told them I was sick with a fever. The owners wife came and said they will open the door if I don't open it. I said I never heard of such a thing. She said it was policy and I said show me it. After that her husband threatened me and said to get out. When I first checked in I had to clean it better than it was. So that's why I refused service. On top of that caca roaches and eggs all over the dresser and all in the drawers. The maintenance man tried to clean up the roaches with plant bug spray and the rude owners wife said its not her problem. The husband said maybe I brought them there. I almost lost it and kicked his butt but I'm better than that. I will never go back there again nor would I ever recommend that dump for a motel to my worst enemy. Holes in the wall ugly decor. Rooms smell like old rusty trash dumpster. They treat people like they could careless if u stay there or not. The shower was so moldy I went to dollar store down the street for cleaning products, gloves, sponge and flip flops to sumwhat clean it up to take a shower....GROWSSSS!!! and I was Damn sure not going in that shower barefoot.
