Honestly, I had a great stay here. It was a quick trip for a funeral sadly. It was very convenient. I drove a little bit further for this location just because it felt safer to me as a woman traveling alone. This location was pretty safe and I like how the hotel is all inside the lobby if you know what I mean. Versus other hotels that have outside individual entrances to each room, I don't like that. I had already registered online so the lady in the front was just waiting to give me my key. It was pretty quick and easy. The price was very reasonable compared to others around the area. It's definitely worth the money for the safety and peace. The room was very clean and nice. I got my complementary breakfast in the morning. It was a pretty good spread. I got some fresh coffee as well when I woke up and on my way out. I will definitely be staying in this hotel when I'm around the area. read more

Let me start off by a warning. It's the practice of this location to announce your room number out loud. I asked two different front desk clerks on different days. It's not like other locations that they only circle your room number on the paper or tell you it's on the card. This threw me off when I checked in. I've been to other locations, but this is the only location that does this. Other than that, my stay was good. Parking is free, and there are spaces around the hotel. As long as you have your room ley, you can enter any door to access the hotel, especially after curfew hours (9pm). Breakfast is included, and they keep it pretty clean. The only complaint I have about this is the juice machine for the apple and orange juice. It wasn't cold and tasted like it's been sitting in warm temp, so it tasted like it was starting to ferment. By the elevator, before you turn to it, the fitness center is there. Multiple guests used it, but space is limited, so I didn't use it. They have a water refill station and guest laundry (self-service), just almost adjacent to the elevator. They have a mini business center just by the front desk when you enter the lobby. You need to ask for housekeeping if you need one. My room was clean, so I only needed to ask for refresh once during my stay. There a mini fridge and microwave in the room. Also coffee maker. This location is convenient, it's in the middle of 2 fwy going north and south. There's a gas station literally outside the hotel and food establishments. Location was really a plus. read more

I had the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. I've checked into this hotel and other la quinta locations many times. I've never been so disrespected by anyone before this night. I was told I needed to fill out additional info when I got there even though I had already fully checked in with all my information including scanning my ID and entering my vehicle information. I tried explaining to Janessa that I had already completed that. She told me I was wrong. When I tried explaining I check in quite a bit and I'm familiar with the process by now, she told me she didnt need my attitude. I then tried explaining I did not have an attitude and that I was calm and just trying to explain where I was coming from, she cuts me off to say she needs my signature. She then told the employee she was training, that I didnt know what I was talking about. Then as Im walking away, starts laughing loudly at me as soon as I turn the corner. There was no reason for me to be treated this way. Im purposely not returning to this location because of this interaction. Especially since she's training this type of behavior to other employees. read more

We stayed here last night for Thanksgiving which was at our in-laws nearby. It is clean & perhaps a bit dated, but it gets the job done & everyone working their if friendly. The bed was so hard; I tossed & turned a lot & our room was muggy. They need to put a grab bar at the end of the shower where you get in & out & maybe have a horizonal one in the shoer to hang onto when bathing. The breakfast was wonderful with some muffins, sausage, toast, orange juice etc. We were a bit late, but still plenty to fill us; it is self serve. It is cool that there is a gas station nextdoor & Starrbucks & other places across the street. So, for a good stay with friendly service at reasonable rates, La Quinta Manteka Ripen cannot be beat. Check in today and honestly thought it was cute when I walked in, the set up was definitely different. but the shower was off. I didn't feel comfortable on how it shoots in the shower, plus I can tell that they don't have filter on the water I really needed to wash my hair it was rusted all over shower head from mineral water the floor I couldn't even dry my feet. ‍ it got all over the place. If I could rate this place a zero I would they made a huge mistake with our room .. I drove 5 hrs with my wife and kids to a family party got this hotel I left at 5pm & come back at 1am .with my wife drink and 2 small kids . Only to have my doors locked . Because they made a error I had 2 kids sleeping outside the door hall way and drunk wife while they fix their error . The price is low but you get what you pay for. The beds were comfortable and I like the nice firm pillows. A/C keeps the room cool even in the central valley summer. But there were rust stains in toilet and shower, and the room was just old. The TVs have a bare bones directv package so don't expect to see any MLB games or much of anything else. You won't mistake this hotel for a Four Seasons, and the clientele is not upscale. There is quite a bit of traffic noise from cars visiting fast food etc. nearby, but the noise is mostly gone after 10pm and we got a good night's sleep. The breakfast was better than many full service properties with hard boiled eggs, omelets, cereal, juice, coffee, breads, etc. There is no mask enforcement and we smelled pot smoke wafting into our room from the hallway, which unfortunately is endemic to all California hotels now. 2* seems right - a bit below comparable chain properties. read more

Super clean and very comfortable. My first thoughts are that the property is well surrounded by other business with close freeway access. Gas station right next door. The property has a fence around it to keep out unwanted people. Very clean rooms. The staff was friendly and nice. Payment went well with no hiccups, reservation was booked ahead of time. This place was great, from the moment we walked in front desk was super friendly. The place is spotless inside and out. The pool and jacuzzi were great and also the sauna and steam room. Breakfast was your usual quick breakfast and they had a little bit of everything. Wrote a review two and a half years ago about this property... Since then, they have been acquired by Wyndham and remodeled the facility in many ways... Still worth every bit of five stars... Rooms are clean and well appointed... Staff is friendly and attentive... Breakfast is still great (including some of the suggestions we put forward in our last remarks) and included in the price... The mattresses are worth a paragraph on their own... I have a "challenged" lower back... A night's sleep on the mattress in our room was fabulous... If I thought I could sneak that king-sized mattress out without being seen, I'd consider it... =8-) You're not gonna get your bed turned down with a chocolate on the pillow, but you are gonna get full value at a fair price and a delightful stay... Stayed here on Saturday as I was in town for a wedding. The hotel clerk was very friendly and advised us of all the amenities that were available. They stated they had an actual breakfast with eggs and sausages so I was excited for it the morning after a night of heavy drinking. The eggs were okay and the sausage wasn't bad. I guess I had higher expectations but hey I'm just happy they had hot food. I'd recommend this place and would stay here for the cost and cleanliness. Stopped by on my way home to Los Angeles, and I have to say I was very impressed, as I have not been in a hotel in a long time. We stayed in a Junior Suite and the bed was a nice big king size with plenty of room to move around in even with someone else in it. The amenities were easy to use, the TV was on a swivel and could be watched from the bed or the couch/pull out bed and access to DirecTV ment you had many channels to choose from. Personally I was watching the F1 race on ESPN. There was a breakfast to go that included a poptart, and granola bar, and coffee and juice at the bar that you served yourself, but ends at 9am when it was listed at 10am. The pool and hot tub seemed clean enough. There was a sauna room but I didn't go in. The room was spacious, bathroom was clean and big enough for two people to be in there doing there thing in front of the mirror at one time. AC blew perfectly cold as that's always a requirement for me. Also there was a Carl's Jr, Starbucks, Jack, Mexican and frozen yogurt all with less than a half a block walking distance from the hotel. All in all it was a good stay and would stay again. read more

Long story short, woke up to roaches *See snapshot from video below. When we spoke to the lady at the front desk, we were told there is nothing she can do other than call pest control, because we booked through a third party. No timetable was given on pest control. When Hotwire contacted them they say they won't help us because we were smoking in our room which was non smoking. While the Hotwire rep was on the phone, they sent the house keeper to smell our room. She let Hotwire and the front desk know that we were in fact NOT SMOKING in our room. This place was an absolute embarrassment. My in-laws came to visit Ripon for the first time this weekend and it was terrible from the start. When they got in last night the keys they were given to the room did not work. When we went to the front desk to remedy the situation the desk had to call the room to be sure they didn't give them an already occupied room. The stairs, ceilings, hallways and windows are absolutely filthy and smell. The elevator broke down this morning and the staff seems to be absolutely lost as to what is happening. There hasn't been a single apology for any of the troubles and the staff has been rude about the few things we've brought to their attention. As a Ripon resident that has always bragged about the friendly small town environment La Quinta had really made us look like fools. I will definitely recommend those visiting Ripon find somewhere else to stay. read more

We are frequent La Quinta over-nighters...we've stayed at them all over Texas and the route out to California...we've only had one negative La Quinta experience and that was in Fresno (gah...Fresno). We were pleased with this location, the room was neat, clean, and modern. We had ample pillows and blankets, the mattresses were comfortable and the noise level very low. Plenty of towels in the bathroom and a shower mat. In short, we got a good night's sleep. The staff was warm and friendly, even though it looks like they are in the middle of a remodel. Have stayed here several times and I decided to write a review. Location is very good for this hotel. Close to the freeway but no freeway noise. Several eating locations nearby and a truck stop with good fuel pricing across the street. Rooms are nice, typically clean and a good sized room too. Beds are surprisingly comfortable. Pillows could use an upgrade though. Bathrooms are good sized and come with the basics. TV is really surprising as while the TV itself is small the channels offered are EXCELLENT. I have stayed in hotels across the world and paid 5 to 6 times over this properties rate and the TV offering is much less. Breakfast is included and while not a breakfast to rave about is ok and saves a bunch of money compared to eating out at a restaurant. Another reason we stay here is that this property allows pets without a PET FEE! read more

Worst hotel ever. Rudest front desk girl ever. First off, paid $230 for the room and amenities that came with the hotel. One of the selling points upon check in was the pool area. As soon as we settled in to our room I took my kids down to swim sewing as it was so hot out. Once we arrived to the pool it was discovered that the motors where not on or working, there was nasty film like substances floating all over top of pool with multiple bugs crawling at the bottom of it. My kids were so disappointed and so I tried to ask the front desk if there was something they could do. I was told that the 24 hour maintenance guy was called but not answering. Frustrated with the fact that the pool was a selling point but was not notified that it is not in working conditions. Front desk attendant said she could give me the r managers number but that was all she could do. I explained my frustration in the fact that there is nobody else to speak to and we are only here for the night. A reimbursement of some kind would've been nice seeing as this room was given to us without full awareness of the main selling point we were looking for. THE POOL. I explained why I was skeptical of an email versus a number or business card of said manager as this does not seem like it will be taken care of and now we are stuck in this situation. The front desk attendant started to speak with a short temper towards me and was giving dirty looks the entire time. As mad as I was at this point, I calmly told the front desk attendant that I understood this is not on her, but it is really upsetting to have her give so much attitude. She responded back with the rudest ugliest dirty look and denied being anyway with me. I then pointed at her and said "this display your doing right now is exactly what I'm referring to". The girl got up and walked away leaving me at the desk. So rude, so unprofessional I could not believe that this hotel would have someone like this working the front desk. Absolutely upsetting and disrespectful. I tried to call to soak with manager and waited at the desk. The girl came back out and I asked for the email and her name so that I can notify the manager of whom I was speaking with. She wrote the email and refused to give her name as she said it was "none of my business". In shock at the continued rudeness I asked her again. The girl ignored me and went back in her cell phone. The next person came in and while I was still standing there this front desk person addressed the new patron and ignored me. I let her know this was so disrespectful and it is not how you treat customers. The front desk attendant raised her voice stating "you have to give respect to get it!" Trying so hard to hold my composure i reiterated how this whole ordeal was very disappointing. The front desk staff proceeded to threaten me saying if I did not leave she would call the cops. Absolutely ridiculous! Never in my life have I ever experienced this kind of treatment. This is the first and last time I would ever stay at such a poor managed place. I wasn't expecting much, just the 3 "B's"; I only received one: the bed was OK. There was no hot water in the morning, had to take a cold shower. The heater did not work so I froze most of the night. After a cold night I was sooo looking forward to a hot shower in the morning (see prior comment about the shower). And that 3rd "B", well I guess the Giedion's don't even visit this hotel. Family reunion in the area so decided to stay at this hotel and I'm glad I did. Family who stayed elsewhere regretted it. Our rooms were renovated and clean. The pool area is small but clean so that's a plus. Front desk was friendly and happy to provide pool towels. Traveling with children and felt safe in the hotel. Love the fact all property doors remain locked and require your card key. Only wish they kept the continental breakfast area well stocked for the late birds. Overall great stay. read more

This is a great place with a very convenient location right off the freeway. There are a few fast food restaurants within walking distance, as well as a Starbucks. Mom's Twin Sister Funeral in Ripon. Booking.com messed our travel plans which we setup 25 days ago. My wife made reservations for Friday night. We were told they were cancelled by Booking, but there was a reservation for 1 night. The desk person Mary said that on a busy Friday night that they had no way of getting hold of any management and that he would be upset if he called his personal number... What the heck kind of customer service is that. She said she will leave a note for him on Monday at 8am... !!! Really. As an manager of multiple employees of 25 years, I am amazed at the lack of support the hotel staff does not have. The lack of support limits that the staff and a is direct reflection of the disconnected ability to contact management or owners. I felt sorry for the counter gal. Add to that, a wedding party was their drinking in the halls till 2am and having words in the parking lot below our window,,, Very very loud and no body policed them, so they went all night. That, I am not too old to understand a wedding party so I am over that point. 9:47PM Sat Night - We had almost forgotten about our previous evening. We arrived at the hotel exhausted in the evening after the funeral and ready to relax. Our keys would not let us in the hotel. We had to go around and have them make 2 new keys, which did not work 2 times, then they made us a 3rd set with new cards and they still did not work. Then they suggested that they let them in with their master key and no other rooms to stay at. They have no maintenance person on site or that could come, so we were stuck in our room not able to leave unless we asked the desk person to come up and let us in each time. If you have the option not to stay here, take it. In the middle of nowhere, but plenty of places to eat nearby. Don't expect the staff to be helpful. You're pretty much on your own here and the staff does nothing to make you feel any differently. The televisions are old and bulky. The Direct TV service is sporadic at best. Once you get past the stained chairs in the lobby and get to your room you may find more stained and faulty furniture in your room and bathroom. Avoid at all costs. This Hotels service is the worst. During a late night check in on 7/17/20, a man was sitting with the front desk host and began to tell us about police activity and that we should "be careful." I'm not sure if we looked suspicious or as if I was engaging in illegal activity, but I did not need to be warned about police activity. The next morning the front desk came to the door saying we were late checking out, but the front desk operator the previous night offered us a late checkout, something she forgot to note because she was too busy entertaining the same company that felt the need to warn us about police activity. As I was explaining this to the front desk Manager Jan, she began to accuse me of smoking in my room. I did not smoke in my room and even offered her access so she could inspect it. I was shocked and appalled at the fact that I had to defend myself to unfounded accusations by the front desk host Jan. She even threatened to withhold our deposit until we threatened to call the police. I feel as if this hotel is unfriendly to minorities and the front desk operator Jan could use some public relations training. read more

I don't get the negative reviews for this LQ location, feel free to confirm that. If the reservation was done over the phone or another travel site the negative review should be tied to that not your 'stay' here. Also, if the 5 star treatment is what you expect, then you must book at a 5 star location. This is not one of them so its unfair to rate them badly for something that's not promised. This was the first of 10 LQ stays on a road trip. PROS; - hotel and rooms were clean - staff was helpful and accommodating - breakfast food was always topped off so everything offered was always available - free parking - free internet CONS; - I agree with another reviewer that it'd be nice to have healthier options for breakfast. Not to say that it was bad but I stayed 2 weeks. I had a fruit, boiled egg, and coffee/tea......... e v e r y s i n g l e m o r n i n g. Worst experience ever!!!!! Ruined my wedding night! Reserved a month in advanced, but when I arrived with my new husband in my wedding dress my room was not available which was king non smoking. Instead we were sent to double bed room that smelled liked ash tray. Disappointed went back to the desk and after 10 min negotiation we got another room but to our surprise we walked in on another couple making love. Again...... Disappointed walked down to the desk and asked if there is another room avail. We were told to wait 10 min while the system changes time... My new husband was upset and took me to the car.... When he went back to get confirmation that we did not stay the night... I saw 3 police cars pulled up to the front. At this time I decide to drive up to the front. Police of Ripon harassed my husband of being out of control..... REALLY??? Can you blame him??? A wedding night??? Little did they know we end up searching for a hotel all night until 4 am. First of all I had to call in to let the front desk people know that we will be late with our check-in. They said that it wouldn't be a problem at all. We arrived at 5.00am and when we arrive at the main entrance everything was locked. Calling the front desk only gave us an answering machine to talk to. Suddenly a handyman came into the lobby and opened the door for us. We asked for the staff but he had no idea where they were, when some sleepy women in a pink hoody came from the back office. It was so obvious that she just woke up. Her hair was all messy and she looked really really sleepy. Not to mention that she was rude and not very helpful at all. She wouldn't look at us while talking, she yawned right in front of us - mouth wiiiiiiiide open. Ok, room was still available! Great! We opened the door and this awful smell of urine and wet towels just punched us in the face. Blood stains on the towels and hair all over the bathroom floor. Yellow rings around the toilet seat clips and gross stains in the sink. It'll do for now but I would not stay here again! One good thing though - the breakfast and parking is included!! I mean I didn't expect it to be like the Plaza, but at least some clean towels and no stains on the pillow cases would have been nice! read more
