I have a 50 gallon in bed fuel tank. Let me first say that the tank is very well made and it is sturdy. Two things for the low number. One they don't offer a locking fuel cap. I asked and was told they have used ones. The other reason is I am not a big fan of this track 4 system in which they have to plug into your OBD2 port for power. Why you ask? Since they are a California based company they know that every vehicle has to go into smog every two years. When I was inserting down my information when checking on this tank I called them asking why my on star would not work. A service I pay for. They on a monthly bases send diagnostic reports about the vehicle. Customer service said that is what they use for power and to just unplug the Trax 4 before the time that they do their diagnostic testing. Okay fine. Now my truck is almost two years old and now has to have a smog check. A still new truck with factory warranty i assumed there wouldn't be any problems. They need the OBD2 port to plug a scanner into it. Well with the Trax 4 plugged into it and after you unplug it it sends a code to the computer and it will not pass smog. It is one of those codes that you have to drive it for many days and miles before the computer can sense that there isn't a problem. It is nothing more than a PITA. Why couldn't you get the power from this Trax 4 from another location instead of the OBD2 port. Making all it a pain for us you have to get smogged and to have access to our On Star system? This is my second tank I have purchased from you. The last one was an 07 and it got its power some place else and have never had a problem with smog or any thing else. Why would you screw something so simple as where to get power and out of the blue; lets plug it into the OBD2 port? read more

well all I can say I wasted 3600 bucks on a 58 gallon gas tank for my 2022 f-350 truck seems transfer flow would do better re-search when coming out with a new product.No answers on being able to update the trucks computer to match the amount of fuel till empty.and guessing how much fuel you have left in you're tank. Like the tank, a 75 gallon automatic transfer diesel tank, for my Ram. Taking 2 stars off for customer service ,Ty, and poor instruction paperwork. Instructions have poorly done pictures and use vent and fill tube interchangably. Not all instructions are in the same package. Needed a new fuel level sending unit as the one on the tank was out of the spec's.( first thing the instructions said to do was check resistance). The company sent one, I had to pay to send the bad one back ($10.00). You might have thought after paying $2800.00 + they would have sent me a prepaid return label. Ty never thought to tell me that was on me. Love the tank, not entirely satisfied with the company. read more

Well this is our second vehicle to have a external tank installed. The first truck was done over 17 years ago. That was done on a Ford F-550 cab and chassis with a flat bed. This truck was used to tow our 5th wheel RV. We had the 50 gallon toolbox tank installed then and never experienced any issues with it. Well to make a long story short I just bought a new Ford F-450 Super Duty. Well, I called Transfer Flow and arranged to see about having a 50 gallon diesel tank installed on this beast. We the wife and I were treated like lost family. This place is still really awesome. That is from the owner all the way down to the person who sweeps the factory floor. read more

Just had a 40 gallon tank installed yesterday and it works great. My wife and I drove 4 hours to get it installed at the factory and couldn't be happier. We had an 11AM appointment and was out of their by 3:30. We decided to wait in the clean and comfy waiting room for the instillation. You can tell that customers service is their priority. They are located next to a small air museum that is open Thursday-Sunday and a very good restaurant is about a 15 minute walk from the business. If you tow a large trailer like we do get a fuel tank from them. No more fear of not being able to get into a place to fuel, opens so many more options. read more

Where do I begin?! In researching auxiliary fuel tanks, Transfer Flow floated to the top of my list. I opted for a 98 gallon in-bed, sprayed with bed liner, auxiliary tank for my Ford Superduty. Once I decided on the tank, I phoned and spoke with Erica. Erica was extremely professional and helped me land a good deal at a local hotel with shuttle service to and from Transfer Flow. Erica was super friendly and even accommodated a date change due to booking issues with the hotel. On the day the tank was installed, I arrived about 20 minutes early. First impression of the company was very positive and it was actually a bit bigger than I had expected. I was sitting in my truck with my wife and a Transfer Flow employee walked out and greeted us. We were a bit early but he took our information and then took our truck right over to the install shop. The tank was finished sooner than expected and upon our return, we reviewed the tank installation and had a brief orientation with staff. All were extremely professional and genuinely grateful for our business. It's obvious that Transfer Flow is about customer service and I'm thankful I opted to make the four hour drive to their facility for the install, even though there are shops across the company that can do it. Transfer Flow warranties their work and products and it's a great feeling knowing that if I encounter any problem, they will be there to immediately help resolve it. It's great when a company stands behind their product and it's also great when it's 100% American made! On the drive home, the unit (Trax 3) worked as it should and it gives me great satisfaction that I can now travel so much farther and be more selective on my fuel stops. I left there with full fuel tanks (price was actually cheaper than in my home town) and a sense of satisfaction knowing I picked the right tank and company to purchase from. Install was clean and professionally done. Erica was a total sweetheart and really helped me decide on options and getting exactly what I wanted. I wanted a bigger gas tank in my truck and Transfer Flow has a great reputation for building quality products, so I gave them a call to order the tank. Since they were reasonably close, I figured I would pick it up myself, rather than pay to have it shipped by truck. But when they told me they would install it for $250.00, I decided to let them do it instead of doing it myself. I knew I'd have to wait for hours while they did the installation, so I planned on walking someplace to get some lunch and maybe killing some time at a park or something. When I got there, I was a little disappointed to see that they were located in an industrial area and there wasn't much around. I expected to spend the time sitting on an uncomfortable chair in a typical waiting room. I was pleasantly surprised to walk into what looked like somebody's well-appointed home. There were comfortable sofas, a TV set with satellite and a pretty extensive video library, a Keurig coffee maker, etc. I was offered a soda to drink, handed a menu from a catering company so I could give them my lunch order (yes, they bought lunch for me and my wife) and basically treated like a guest in somebody's home. It's obvious that the staff really appreciates their customers. When the job was completed (on time), they went over the calibration sheet with me (how much gas was in the tank at each gauge position), gave me some basic information, and sent me on my way with a full tank. It was by far the most painless auto repair experience I have ever had. A Transfer Flow tank may cost a little more than some other brands, but the workmanship and the customer service more than make up for the price difference. read more

I have had a 50gal in-bed tank for a year. Works great. Last week, the fuel pump stopped working on the tank. I called Transfer Flow and spoke to Rocky. He was very knowledgeable and also confirmed it was the fuel pump. I was in the middle of Montana on vacation and he shipped me a new pump, and even a new filter, overnight. Since it was still under warranty, there was no charge, not even for the shipping. Took me 3-4 minutes to put the new pump on the tank with only a pair of pliers. We are now back up and running. We have a short bed 2500 with a Pullrite Superglide auto slide hitch for our 5th wheel. We ordered a 37 gallon in bed tank and had elected to have it installed at the Chico facility. When we arrived for our appointment we were greeted with a smile and handshake as if we were already friends. The paperwork was gone over and all the work was explained. We were concerned that the tank would not be able to fit under our bed cover and have clearance for the hitch. The tank we ordered would indeed fit. However we asked if there was a larger tank option available? After the truck was taken back we were informed that a 50 gallon tank would fit and they have that tank in stock if we wished to install it instead of the smaller one. We were taken back to the garage and showed both tanks and how much clearance would be available between both tanks and the cover. They were very patient and happy to take the time so we could make an educated decision. We were comfortable choosing the larger tank because they took the time to show us the actual clearance between both tanks. We were able to get the larger tank we wanted. The work was done on time as we waited in the waiting room they have and visited a airplane museum just next door. We left with both tanks full of fuel and a smile on our face. The stock gas tank on my truck was way too small given the poor fuel economy, so I opted for an aftermarket tank that was about 40% larger. Transfer Flow does installs onsite (was well as through a large dealer network) -- there was a special until 4/1 for a $99 installation, saving $101 off their normal price. It tends to be tough to find decent diesel shops around, so I was glad to have this installed at the source. (they also manufacture the tanks here) The job took just under three hours, and during that time, I bummed around the Chico Airpark -- there are a couple of decent places to eat, as well as lots of good photo opps with the historic aircraft/air museum/etc. I don't imagine I will ever be in Chico again (maybe to visit the Sierra Nevada brewery, which I sadly missed this time) but it's not a bad little town for being in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, the install of the fuel tank was fine (total charge with fuel was about $950); they also have various other tanks available if you have the room. read more

Last month my check engine light came on in my Tundra so I took it in for service (its equipped with the Transfer Flow 46-gallon tank replacement). It had a number of codes related to the evap setup on the fuel system. The Toyota dealer reviewed the codes and made their recommendation to replace the gas cap and said due to the fact I have an aftermarket tank, if replacing the gas cap did not cure my check engine light codes, they would no longer be able to help me with my problem. This was not reassuring. I called Transfer Flow to see if they could provide any guidance for how I might approach this, or potential solutions that I could explore, shop recommendations, etc... I received a call back from Brad a day later and we talked about what I was experiencing. He said, let me look into this and get back to you. He called me back a day or so later telling me he thinks he has a solution, and he would be sending me a package and a couple parts. I was blown away with the fact Transfer Flow had taken the time to properly review my issue and provide me a solution, the fact that they were sending me a package to help remedy the issue was amazing! I received the package two days later with some parts and work instructions showing me exactly what I needed to do in order to correct the issue with my Tundra (all without dropping the fuel tank or removing the bed). I completed the repair in an hour and a half total time as a result of their detailed instructions. I cannot thank Brad and the Transfer Flow team enough for stepping up and helping me resolve my issue, you exceeded all expectations! I purchased a replacement tank 4 years ago when I purchased a new F-450. Today the tank fell out of the truck going down the road due to s faulty weld on one of the straps that holds the tank in. They will not even warranty the strap much less the shipping. DO NOT buy from them they do not stand behind their products. Nice lady in customer service but the company is for crap. Update...........Transfer Flow had the nerve to email me wanting me to be sure and let everyone know that they did indeed supply me with replacement straps so here is the rest of the story.....................................I hope they like this review better now. After raising nine kinds of HE!! they did send me new straps free of charge. They never once even so much as apologized for the failure of their equipment or even acknowledge that if the tank had made contact with the road while driving I could have been seriously injured or maybe even killed. They did totally change how the new straps are made so that would lead me to think they have had more than one failure of the strap. If you own one of these tanks i would seriously check the integrity of the straps as you may be driving a time bomb waiting to ignite. So I still say DO NOT buy anything from them. They will only help after you raise HE!! with them. read more

Please read this post!!! My 1st thought was, "Oh yeah, a new gas tank!" But, it would be awesome to drive the NV deserts and not have to worry about gas anymore...so then we drove into the perfectly groomed parking lot. Beautiful plants, trees and roses! Hmm, they keep the lot nice? A covered table for employees to have lunch? That's nice of them...they must care. Benches to sit outside while you wait...we enter the waiting room/living room. It was just like home! With a nice TV and cable, a Keurig with Coffee choices, Chamomile Tea (!!!), Granola Bars, Waters, Soda. Also, a nice coffee table book with WIFI info, town info, taxi info, etc...Then comes Chad, who greets us! He sees our dog Huckleberry with us, so he pulls out the beautiful dog bed for Huck, fills a dog water bowl and shows us that the entire side of the building is indeed fenced perfectly, so pups can run around and watch the birds chirp! Unbelievable! He says wait till Erica gets here! She loves dogs! Well she is the receptionist and she really does!!! She gave Huck treats after asking if it was ok! She also dog sat for us when TJ took us on a tour of the factory. Oh ya!!! It was AWESOME!!! Mr. Roger's Neighborhood in the Crayola Factory has nothing on this place! They make all electrical circuitry right there. The testing machines were very impressive. Everything comes into the place as sheets of metal. The laser cutting machines are huge! They set the computers and the pieces are cut out. Then they are bent to perfection by other machines. They create baffles that they insert in the tanks so we don't have sloshing when we go around corners. They have machine welding, but they also have hand welding after that. The guys check, check, check each tank! They are very careful. They then have huge tanks of slightly soapy water. They dunk the tanks and apply pressure inside. Just watching for bubbles is next. They dunk them again! Only after 3 check systems does that tank pass. And if it fails everything for that day is PULLED BACK! They are very serious! Next the tank goes through a nice spray shower inside and out. Nice and hot! Then it gets a hot dry tank. Then it gets hand sprayed by a guy with beautiful powder coating. Then that dries. They move on down to the "Grand Poobaa", who puts the required stickers where they need to be. At this point they are ready to be packed up. We asked if we could see our truck. He said sure and we headed to another building. The guys there were messing with a strap that holds the tank in place and said they were almost finished. We headed back to the incredible waiting room. That room was all ours that day, I even caught a quick nap with my dog on the sofa. They are very casual, see they are a huge family. A family business. They do really care. Most employees are really related, TJ said they play with it, "My dad can beat up your dad!" is a joke when the air gets heavy. They were ALL so concerned that we were well taken care of. In the end, they decided that they didn't like the way the strap fit. We couldn't see that anything was weird! But they didn't like it. So, they took it off, threw it away and created a brand new one...........did you hear me? Where do you get service like that? Did I mention the Crispy Cream donuts that showed up at Breakfast time or the Food Truck we had Chili Dogs from at Lunch time? They tried to buy us lunch too. I don't know about you but I know what my new gas tank looks like inside and out! I love my new gas tank! I feel secure. I love that it doesn't slosh and I know why. I would do whatever I could to support those people because they are doing everything they can to make the world a better place. Did I mention the "Thank you for your business and Safe Travels" Card we just got in the mail from them? Run, don't walk. Go support this business!!!! Way reliable! Perfect 5 STARS!!!! read more

(that will be 550.00 please), it is 100% more than a over priced oem part. and all i needed was the sending unit, my pump works fine but they don"t sell them separately. well isn't that convenient. if you buy a tank from them say a prayer, or go with a company that is fare with replacement parts. These people are the best. I was promptly met by Chad and the technician Brian. They explained what was to be done, answered my questions and went right to work. The facility is in an industrial area next to Chico airport and there are no food services within 2 miles. I'm not from the area so I had to wait (5 1/2 hours) but Transfer Flow has gone the extra mile to make your time as pleasant as possible. Their waiting room is clean and nicely decorated (imagine a Dentist's Office waiting room but nicer). Equipped with overstuffed chairs, coffee, wi-fi, reading materials, clean bathroom and a movie library if you want to watch TV. Even a welcome notice with the names and home cities of the customers getting installations that day. Nice touch. There is also an outside shaded area with picnic tables. I had the low profile 50 gal. cross bed tank installed in my 2013 Silverado 2500HD diesel. During the install Chad kept me informed about an issue that we had talked about involving the hinges on my hard bed cap and how it was resolved. Brian did a very clean and professional job and filled both tanks (don't worry they don't gouge the fuel price). I've refilled twice and the Transfer Flow tank has worked as advertised. Everyone I've shown it to is surprised how little space it takes up for a 50 gal. tank. I would definitely recommend their product and installation at their facility. read more

We have 2 trucks with Transfer Flow tanks now. We LOVE them! One is on our F-350 Diesel truck. It's a toolbox and 70 gallon gas tank. It's perfect for our sand toys when we go to the dunes! We fill them up all week long without having to deal with 5 gallon gas cans anymore. We also have additional diesel tanks on the F-350 and F-250 so we can make it so much further between fill ups on the road. We have a 41 foot toy hauler so getting into the average gas/diesel station is a drag. Now we can make it from truck stop to truck stop. I traveled to Transfer Flow in Chico, CA Feb 16-17, 2012 to have them install in my new truck a spray in bed liner and a 75 gallon aux fuel tank I bought from them a couple of years ago for a previous truck. They have recently started selling truck accessories and about three weeks before I traveled to Chico, I had tried to purchase some GoRhino steps but they had difficulty with getting a price in addition to not being very proactive in calling me back about the steps. I eventually gave up and purchased them from another retailer. I still needed to get my aux tank installed and made an appointment. I called the day before my appointment to confirm and it was at this time they offered me a discount if I let them use my truck to certify one of their new OEM replacements tanks. Once i arrived on the 16th of Feb they were extremely nice and we were able to work out a deal since I agreed to let them to use my truck for their certification. They credited me $279, which took care of the aux tank install and kit in addition to installing the steps for free that I bought from another retailer. The steps were missing some parts, but they were still able to install them by manufacturing the missing parts. They let me know my truck would be complete around 3pm so when I showed up the brought back to where they were finishing up the install to show me their work. I was very pleased! They even filled up my truck with 116 gallons of diesel and charged me $3.90/gallon instead of the daily going rate locally of $4.07. Once complete the techs brought my truck to me and since it was the end of the day and right before a long holiday weekend they took off immediately (which I don't blame them). As I was leaving their facility my check engine light came on and my factory fuel gave dropped to empty. I parked the truck and let someone inside know what was going on. The immediately brought out another tech who worked diligently for about an hour and a half to fix the problem. One of the owners came out and apologized for the malfunction. I offered the owner some feedback on my experience with trying to buy the steps from them and he of course apologized again and said they recently had a sales team turnover and were in the middle of transitioning and he will work with the sales dept in fixing the gap. I didn't feel he was making an excuse, but just wanted me to understand what had happened. All in all, they were great to deal with and they made sure I was happy and everything worked as it should before I left for my five hour drive back home. I primarily worked with TJ once I arrived and he was fantastic to deal with. I would absolutely do business with them again and highly recommend Transfer Flow. On a side note, I've had their product for over two years and I've recommended them over this time period to countless people because I feel their product is not only well made, but extremely reliable! I gave them four stars instead of five only because the issue with getting the truck steps and the minor glitch in wiring my aux tank. They did mention the wiring is something the normally test but they were trying to finish my truck quickly to get me on the road so I wouldn't have to spend another $100 on a hotel room for one more night. read more
