These guys are total crooks. I dealt with them a couple years ago for an insurance claim. They talked to me like they were on my side and wanted to help, brought the damaged vehicle to them, told them specifically to only write what damages were caused by the accident in the invoice, had them send the invoice to State Farm, then literally the next day State Farm denied the invoice saying the damages had nothing to do with the accident and when I asked if they talked to the mechanics in charge AJ(Jeff's son) and Tulio they stated that they did and that the mechanics denied that any of the damages were from the accident. So I spent the next few months trying to sort it out, eventually it came down to State Farm needing an email from AJ stating that the damages were from the accident and as soon as I requested that in writing from them they became totally avoidant of me and my emails and phone calls. The next few months were a legal nightmare and obviously being a broke college student trying to make enough money just to afford rent the best I could do was fight my way through small claims representing myself. They lawyered up and the rest is history, the mediator at the trial basically tore me down and told me I was wasting my time and everyone else's time being there(thanks to the butte county court house for representing justice). It was probably the most horrific experience I've ever had with an auto shop and it's taken me quite a long time to just find the strength to at least write this review. read more

Had a Kohler generator issue, they sent a repair man out within a few days, he was very knowledgeable about his job ( especially in 105 temp) it was up and running within an hour, and the customer service from my first call to the follow up was top notch! Jeff's trucks charged me almost a thousand dollars to repair a NOX problem on my truck. The light went off but it did not pass smog. Then they charged me $2500 or so to repair the truck again. And had it for about 2 weeks! It still didn't pass smog. I took it back and they said drive it more. But it still didn't pass smog. I read up and found out that there is a driving protocol you have to follow for the computer error codes to clear. They didn't tell me that. Then I found out that the parts were under warrantee. When I asked about that they said that my claim is denied because I took the truck and drove it. This company is either corrupt or incompetent. They shouldn't have given me the truck if that would void the warrantee. And it is complete nonsense that driving the truck after a repair voids a warrantee. I fixed the code problem myself and got it to pass smog because they didn't. $3500 for repairs on a $56,000 truck with less than 50,000 miles. Outrageous! read more

We will only use Jeff's Truck service. We had a few nightmare problems with a new trailer that the trailer dealership wouldn't warranty and wouldn't fix. Jeff's was able to fix all the problems and help us deal with the trailer manufacturer. Additionally we had a blow out of our water tank that was under warranty. It was during the holidays and we were going to use it as an extra bedroom for out of town family. I explained our situation and they handled it quickly and professionally. If you take your RV to Jeff's Truck repair be prepared to pay triple what he finally quotes you on the phone. Dropped off our RV in March. After several calls of trying to get a quote, he finally tells us $550. Then after several more calls of when is it going to be ready. We finally get a call in June that's it ready. We asked him to fix the bathroom cover that wasn't on the original work order. Go down to pick it up and it's $1,500. We refused to pay until we spoke with Jeff. He said he called and told us that it was going to be $250 more. Never had that conversation. Even if he did call, which he didn't, that would be $800. Consumer Affairs protects the public from this particular situation. I will be filling a report. I would like to add, he did do great work but he needs to work on his costumer service. read more

I called to get an estimate for an oil change on a small RV. The guy answering phone gave me a ball park estimate and said they would have to look up the parts from vin to get a more accurate price. I said ok and when I asked if someone could give me a call back with an estimate, he quickly changed his tone and told me they wouldn't be able to help me and hung up on me. Very rude! read more

Took our 2002 Forrest River RV to Jeff's truck service in Chico Ca. as they stated they specialized in servicing RV generators. Our vehicle was there for several months. Picked up our RV as it was stated problem fixed, brought it home shut it down for just one night "but NO" came out the next day same issue with the generator, had the same problem I took it in for. I called them back shortly after and no return phone call for over a month. I reached out a month later to contact them and transferred me to the owner Jeff, long story short not their problem. My observation is this was a bandage fix not a permanent fix I was burned out of $900.00 not good service to us as customers It felt like Jeff just did not care. Wanna know what this place did/how awesome they are? We brought in our 99 roadtrek. Our coach batteries were being weird and weren't holding a charge. Rhonda-the main cool lady-and a mechanic looked at our car. They told us that nothing was really wrong. There was just a bad connection. As an ignorant RV person, they could've told me that thousands of dollars of stuff was wrong, but they didn't and instead opted to tell us that we DIDN'T need to fix anything. I WISH I lived here because these guys would be our go-to RV place. Anyway, I give these guys my highest recommendation. We had a standby generator installed by another business and it just never ran correctly. After troubleshooting the problem ourselves and found it was way over our heads, we called Jeff's. Mike made a house call and it was found the problem to be a bad motherboard. The part was ordered and Mike returned to install it. While testing the generator, it was found that the stepper motor was bad so that part was ordered. Mike returned with the new stepper motor, installed it, tested everything and now the generator is working perfectly. We highly recommend Jeff's Truck Service! From the first phone call with Rhonda we were treated as if we were an important customer. LOOK AT PHOTOS, FRAUD ALERT!!! 10/16/2019 i brought my 2013 freightliner in to jeffs truck service after speaking with jeffs representative over the phone at 12:24 PM the same day about my APU not starting and a Battery light being illuminated on the trucks dashboard. on 10/16/2019 i signed a repair order # 241407 which only stated "Battery light lit on dash, check for reprogramming. as i handed the key to jeffs representative i was asked if i would like to wait in the drivers waiting area for the repairs to be done, i stated no il just uber home and uber back when they have resolved the problem. Thursday and Friday i received zero calls so on Monday 10/21/2019 at 3:08 PM i called the shop and spoke to jeffs representative again, i asked about the progress thus far, i was informed the issues i had were fixed and jeff would call to give me details. three days later on 10/24/2019 at 10:54 AM jeff called me and said it was a simple fix that a battery cable was misplaced which caused the battery light to come on the dash and when the battery cable was misplaced the fuse to the APU was blown so the fix was simple and the parts needed were 2 fuses. i asked him what was the total cost i owed, jeff said hes not sure but due to the ease of the repair he stated "barely nothing" so since i was at work and he had the truck i asked can you give my truck an inspection and try to remove the auto shut off feature connected to my truck? he stated yes. on 10/25/2019 at 4:45 PM i went to jeffs truck repair in person with my 2 sons ages 5 and 6 started the recorder on my phone entered and asked if the truck was ready to go, the representative stated yes that jeff would come speak to me, she then called him to the front office over the loud speaker. 15 minutes later jeff arrives to the front lobby and tells me for over 15 minutes how great my truck is and how nice it sounds, then explains to me at the end the total is $879.94. when i ask if he can show me where that sum came from he stated "what do you think this is magic?" i stated no, i just dont understand how a cable being moved and a couple fuses being replaced plus a 90 day inspection would total $879.94 he stated this isnt FU##ING magic, i said wow my sons are right here jeff you dont need to swear, he said as he turned around "come back when we are open" at this point it wasnt even 5:30 PM and he is open until 6:00pm i know the time was stamped 5:11 PM on the receipt i got after all this happened. i said as he walked away "your going to be like this?" he said "yes" i walked right to the room to pay to get my truck out of his shop. when i was trying to pay the representative before i could pay she told me to sign another document, this was " description of labor / service provided" i read the little print above the signature spot and the start read i hereby authorize the above repair work to be done..." i stated wasn't this supposed to be signed by me before the work was done? she said "dont ask me im not involved plus im late to pick my kids up so please hurry up" i stated can i get a copy of those two papers which were on her desk and had hand written notes about my truck on them, she said thats not needed i said im paying nearly a thousand dollars please can you make a copy for me, she picked them up quickly read them and begrudgingly made copies and handed them to me. she took my payment and gave me the receipt and the 4 pages, two hand written and 2 pages of the estimate that i signed after the work was already done and the other which shows no signiture from me. upon further review the hand written notes show 5 times under the time clock section of the mechanics labor record as follows 0.8 1.3 .3 1.1 1.4 .6 a drawn line under .6 with 5.5 i believe being the total hours under the line. in his office there are 3 signs breaking down the labor price jeff charges during business hours and after hours which was either $120.00 per hour or the most was $125.00 per hour for what i would be charged during business hours, in either event the most i should have been charged by "jeffs" estimate was labor 5.5 hours $687.50 parts $15.96 totaling $703.46 not what i paid which was $879.94. my opinion is at most i should have been charged for 2 hours to diagnose the fuses and battery cable issue $300.00 plus parts $15.96 and 1 hour to do a 90 day inspection which jeff verbally stated he only charges 1 hour for, total $440.96 what i think is fair is 1.5 hours for the diagnoses and fix plus 1 hour for the inspection and $15.98 for the 2 fuses for a total of $328.48 not $879.94. when jeff brought the truck out i took it across the street and inspected it with my video recording and in the video im stating he didnt even inspect the truck, i know this because in the video im saying and aiming the camera at the webs saying in awe, look at all the spider webs all over the break shoe covers which during inspection would need to be removed to inspect the break pad size, inspection NOT DONE! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR RV TO JEFF's. I took my 2007 motorhome in for repairs and diagnosis. An email was given from me to Jeff's truck service so there would be no confusion about what I would like them to do. They performed many additional service and repairs that were not asked for nor authorized. In the amount of over $1400. I even sent a follow-up email clarifying questions they had asked me on the phone so once again there would be no confusion. They called me to let me know my motorhome was done. I asked them to email me a copy of the invoices. Which were not even close to what I had requested them do with a significantly higher estimated price. The number one reason I took it in was to road force balance the six new tires I had on the motorhome. Which was never even done! When I talked to the owner Jeff about what was going on and let him know I felt taken advantage of. He flipped me off and told me "FUCK YOU" right to my face and "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY OFFICE". I sent one of our trucks for a fuel system repair, they did a fine job except for a faulty O ring. The next day we had a no start on the truck, fuel system bled down over night. Jeff sent a tech out straight away confirmed it was an O ring that leaked due to repair. I thought all was good till we got a bill for 300 dollars for mobile repair. I called and talked to Jeff directly to question the charge. I asked why we were getting charged for a repair that was caused the repair itself. Jeff said "don't worry about paying the bill and to never ask for a mobile repair again". Not the most professional response I have ever gotten from a businessman. So, this is a funny way to write a review, but I just posted this review below for TrailersPlus in Live Oak, CA: First bad review, but sometimes you feel you have to say something. I live on a small ranch in Magalia, CA and needed a small utility trailer clearing out stuff after the fire. Its a 90 minute drive to TrailersPlus in Live Oak and I called earlier in the day to say I wanted to buy a trailer and would be there between 4:30 and 5pm, no issues. There was a lot of traffic which has been a problem since the fire. I wasn't going to be there til about 5:10 and they close at 5:30. I had cash in hand but I called anyway to make sure they were not closing early or anything. It is very difficult to call and get a person on the property because they have a hard sales answering system that must be off site. I finally spoke to someone just before 5pm and told them I would be there within 15 mins and even had the stock number of the trailer I wanted to come and pick up. They said they cannot sell to me today, they require 1 hour to do all of the paperwork and such. WHAT?! I told them, no loan, no credit check, cash or CC and I am done, I know what I want. They refused and I had already spent 70+ minutes on the road. I was angry, and there was no exception. As I was sitting there, fuming, because I needed the trailer quickly, I remembered something. I have bought from this place before years ago. I bought a 24' utility trailer from them maybe 10 years ago, and it was great, but then just 3-4 years ago I drove down to buy a small enclosed utility trailer. I talked to the sales person looking at different trailers. After I found the one I wanted, I said "I'll take it". He said, "sorry, its 5pm and we close at 5:30, you will have to come back tomorrow". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Again, I was paying with a credit card, just sell me the trailer, this is a long drive. Nope, he refused. I was so mad then, and I found another place closer to home that I didn't know about called Jeff's Truck Service and found almost the same trailer but better quality and a bit more. I bought it the SAME night, they are open to 6pm and stayed open a bit to help me, no problem at all. So I remembered this from a few years ago and I said to my wife, what is that companies name we got that trailer from that day? She looks at google and says Jeff's. I say, "yep, that's it" and flip a u turn and head to Jeff's Truck Service. But since I wasted all this time I won't get there til 5:45pm and they close at 6. I get there and I ask to see their 5x8 utility trailers and they show them to me. Again, better quality and a bit more. I feel bad, its now 10 minutes to closing so I ask if my wife comes tomorrow can we get it then and they hook it up for her? The woman says no problem. I say, "I could also do it now, but I know its late and its pouring rain out". She says, "no problem, we can do it now, it only takes a few minutes and we will pull it out and hook it up while we do the paperwork." So we did just that, and in about 15 mins, at 6:08pm I was driving off with a new trailer. I hope my memory serves me better in the future and I just think of Jeff's first thing. Jeff's may need to do a bit better job marketing so I find them first, but they sure do a great job servicing their customers. I will do my best to avoid trailersplus and head to Jeff's from now on, you should too. read more

After a nightmare with another truck/rv repair shop in Chico, and reading some of the other reviews for Jeff's and dreaded taking my motorhome in there, I took the plunge. First, I could not get the answer to my most basic questions. 1: How long? 2: How much? They do schedule things for their convenience, not yours. But they did (after several days) address all of the issues I brought the vehicle in for. They were (well the actual repair staff at least) knowledgeabe and helpful. Are there any places in town that can tell you how long to fix something on a motorhome before hand? I dunno. But so far it seems I might be asking too much. There was one problem though. The side door was left unlocked, it swang open on the road causing the steps to drop and scrape a curb. *sigh* To be fair the door will not latch by simply closing it, it needs dead bolted. With it be extremely difficult to find honest mechanics to deal with, I do believe Jeff qualified on that front. Which takes them to in my opinion, a reluctant 3 stars. A simple appointment that would be binding to both parties might get them a 4th. read more

RUDE. ZERO FOLLOW UP. Jeff is a complete asshole. Took in our horse trailer to have a divider fabricated over on a week ago. Skylar measured it out and said they'd call me and give us a quote. Skylar informed us it would be easy to make, take half a day. Told me they would call me back the next day, never heard from them. After numerous follow ups about not only for the quote but could they do it in time the timeframe we needed, never heard back from them. Called again today (9/28) and Jeff said they couldn't do it. I said "it would have been nice if you would have called me back to tell me this since you all knew we have a time frame and need this divider made". HORRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

HORRIBLE BUSINESS EXPERIENCE! So I am a multi business owner and was in need of a larger dump trailer. I really liked the Big Tex 16ft Jeff's had. The process for financing was very simple and didn't take long for them to make the deal happen. I grabbed my trailer and went straight to a job site. After my guys filled it I went to dump it. In preparation for the run I learned that the nice tarp it comes with to cover the load was only a 14ft tarp. With this trailer it should have been a 20ft tarp. Simple fix right. Seemed like the case. I called Jeff's and told a rep about my situation they immediately put the correct tarp on order. They then contacted me upon it's arrival. Now my dump trailer is between multiple job site along with my other dump trailers (12ft'ers). So when I went to drive all the way on the far end of Chico I soon discovered that the person locating the delivered item could not indeed locate it, so I left no tarp in hand. I was then contacted by the same rep once he located the item. I drove all the way across town yet again to retrieve the item. I saw the tarp resting on a box in the front lobby area. It was a little later in the evening so I could only hear a person on the phone behind a window. I yelled a little and got his attention. I then proceeded to explain to him why the tarp was mine. I then asked him if I could take it. He replied yes then immediately stopped me asking if I had the short tarp to trade. I said no. He said that I could not take the tarp then without trading it. I began to feel frustration since none of this was communicated via two separate phone conversations. I asked the guy if he wanted to just wash his hands of the short tarp since I purchased an over $9000 dump trailer. He said no and that the tarps cost money. I left empty handed. I then called the following day asking for a manager of Jeff himself to explain my situation. I left a message with a person for someone to contact me. No one did. I then called and repeated the same message the following day with no luck again to getting a call back. So I called back later that day and they found someone for me. I believe it to be just a parts counter rep and not a manager. I explained the situation and asked it at all possible since the trailer is used consistently and they want their short tarp back and since I had drove there twice if they could just meet me half way now, since they did get their over $9000 from me, and I would provide them the address to where the trailer was located and they could just send a guy out from their shop to conduct the swap of tarps. The rep told me it would cost me a surcharge of somewhere north of $100. I was appalled honestly for obvious reasons. I then realized that no matter what happened in the conversation they over at Jeff's did not give two craps about the customer since they had already received the money for the trailer. The rep then told me that he would go out on a limb and let me get the tarp from them and return the wrong tarp back on the honor system. I closed the conversation with "I'll be by to get it". Not agreeing to his terms but letting him understand that I will just be by to retrieve what I rightfully purchased. This experience should have never taken place had they just owned up to their fault and corrected it. I am ashamed to say this is a native Chico based business. Jeff's truck repair kept our motorhome for six weeks. We asked him to go completely through the coach and fix anything that was needed to make it road-worthy for a cross-country trip. We were promised the coach would be ready over and over, but other work was always moved ahead of ours and we had to delay our trip by three weeks. When we finally got it back we were charged $11,000. The dash air conditioner that we had paid over $300 to "fix" went out before we got out of California. Then we broke down for two days in Nevada. We had no end of problems on our trip and were broke down again for several days and had to spend several more thousands of dollars for repairs. When we were back in Chico we tried to get Jeff to make the air-conditioner repair right. He said there was a new problem and charged us another $250. We are traveling now and after a few days, it's hot enough for the A/C. It doesn't work! Don't trust this guy or this business!! read more

Jeff seems to be full of...lip service whenever you can get him to actually respond personally to your call. Bottom line, car runs but smokes now although it passed smog. Worse place to take a diesel truck to or anything else for that matter. MY truck threw a check engine light and based on the code that I read it was an EGR problem. Their equipment said it had to do with the seat heater not working. Needless to say, I spent $300 to have them clear the code. No other work was performed. Another time, I called and asked if they did alignments on boat trailers. They said they did. I took my trailer to them and after leaving it there for a day, came to pick it up and they said it could not be aligned and charged me $200. I would not go there if they were the last repair shop in Chico. read more

I took my RV there for service. Fluids, filters, smog. I had a couple other things I had that needed work as well. They had the RV for 6 weeks. Basically only fix 2 of the issues I needed repaired. $1600 later............I've decided to sell the RV and now it needs to be smogged again. I took it to my regular guy at it fails? Jeff's had removed the fuel fill line from the fuel tank and not tightened up the clamps holding it in place (failed vacuum test). The 4' fill pipe was just dangling there as they lost one and didn't tighten another of the brackets attacking it to the chassis. The second fails was an EGR vacuum fail. In the haste of pulling off the air filter either lost or broke the clip holding the crank case vent filter in place. Very poor workmanship over all for RV service. FAIL !!! read more

Jeffs is Fantastic! We were broken down in Interstate 5 in our 40ft diesel Motorhome. Our Good Sam Emergency Roadside Assistance kept us there, 18 inches from hundreds of semi trucks thundering last, for over 10 HOURS! We finally told them to forget it, and Jeffs helped us find a tow, then had his people stay 4 hours late until we could be towed in. They even provided power to our Motorhome overnight. They repaired us right away in the morning for a very resonance price. Jeff, Mike, Tom, and AJ, we're all so friendly. If you are close....they are the ONLY people we would trust. After having trouble with my dodge diesel that was misdiagnosed by three other mechanics, I very reluctantly took it to Jeff's Truck Service just because I was afraid of what THEY would find. They kept it for close to a week and spent hours trying to figure out what the TRUE issue was. I finally got a call from Jeff himself and he laid it all out for me explaining what they found and logical reasons why he felt the "other guys" were wrong. I had one place tell me that I needed a set of injectors, one guy told me it was an electrical issue (he was partly right) and the local DODGE dealership told me I needed a lift pump and injection pump at the tune of about $3200! Turns out all it needed was a fuel pressure regulator that is a part of the fuel pump system hence why Dodge wanted to sell me an entire new pump. Instead, Jeff replaced this one simple part literally saving me thousands of $$. To boot, I spoke with him after the fact to thank him for his good honest work, while doing so, he reviewed my bill WITHOUT me asking him to and discovered that whoever finalized my bill had overcharged me by accident. He informed me of a store credit and was apologetic for the mistake. Bottom line, I have had such anxiety about finding a knowledgable and honest mechanic to take my vehicle to. I can say with confidence that i have found that in Jeff's Truck Service. I recommend anybody with a diesel to take it to them in Chico for any work they need. Jeff will take good care of you. The bearings went out on my trailer and we replaced them ourselves. That didn't work out well! 2 weeks later they went out again, on a Friday afternoon. Saturday I called Jeff's they said they could do it Tuesday, but I could bring it in and they would do what they could about fixing it sooner since I needed it for work. They called Monday afternoon, it was ready! They answered my questions about why our "repair" had failed, and I've had no further problems. read more

Gang raped is what I call it. Took my car trailer in to have an axle replaced and the wheel bearings lubricated. I arrived at 9 AM and dropped my trailer off. My original estimate was $250.00 While they were doing the work I asked if they could repair the brakes which had never worked. I was told they would have to replace the backing plates because the old ones were rusted. It would be cheaper to replace $30.00 each rather than clean the old ones up. I agreed to replace. I was told they would also have to run a new wire to activate the brakes. No problem...10 feet of wire. This is where everything falls apart. I returned around noon to see is the trailer was done. The axle was installed and brakes assembled, just hooking up a wire and it will be done. I proceeded to sit there until a little after 5 PM. Whenever I asked what was up they would say almost finished. Finally I was notified that the work was complete and handed a bill. I about choked....$1016.00!!!! I asked how we got from the original quote of $250.00 all the way up too $1016.00??? They said I kept adding stuff too be fixed. I only asked to fix the brakes. I don't know if anyone is familiar with trailer brakes but there are four bolts on each backing plate.....that's it. They did not replace the drums since they had never been used. Soooo.....8 bolts and $60.00 worth of parts cost me $766.00 over the original estimate. I could have replaced the entire undercarriage for $567.00. That would be new brakes, axles, springs, hubs etc.....EVERYTHING. WOW....kind of like using a little Vaseline. Your still going to get it but it might ease the pain a little. I was told if I didn't like it they could take all of the parts back off. Really.... Now here's the kicker. I paid the $851.00 under protest obviously. Went out to the parking lot and hooked up to my trailer. Get ready for this one......wait for it.....MY BRAKES DON"T WORK!!!!! I literally put my truck in drive and idled through the parking lot with the trailer brakes fully activated. They fiddled with them for a while and could not make them work any better. The guy that argued with me over the bill finally stated to the mechanic..."just leave it" and walked off. I told him I was pretty sure I paid a bunch of money for brakes that work. This is where the owner steps in and tries to feed me another line of crap justifying how badly I got screwed. He offered to send me a new set of drums (I don't live in the area), so I can try and fix them when I get home. Pretty sure that's not why I paid all that money....so I could fix it myself. While we were setting up our RV for the evening we had an issue with a jammed slide out. GoodSam roadside assistance connected us with Jeff's. We asked them to send someone out the next morning (Sunday). The owner himself showed up at exactly the time promised. After a brief adjustment and a quick lesson on how to handle the issue if it happened again, Jeff had us on our way. Would highly recommend this company read more

Absolutely an incompetent staff, they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to repair, part application, or repair estimates. I literally had to walk the staff through giving me an estimate on repair, they forgot several parts on the estimate and tried to charge me for giving me an estimate on repairs. I will never do any business with them and steer everyone clear of this place. read more

I've met the owner here who discussed with me issues that needed to be addressed on my RV. I was told in detail what you need to know about your equipment leaving me with confidence. They could be better organized with their work flow but it's a small price to pay for competence. read more
