Our boot camp instructor got a promotion and now that is a class for premium members. With our basic membership, the only free classes were yoga twice a week at 7am (which doesn't fit with regular working schedules) and Zumba twice a week at 6pm. Limited cardio equipment. The trainers here are friendly and are very good about modifying exercises for those that need more/less intensity. Also, they're diligent about coming by to correct my form (which I need). Those with physical injuries/impairments would benefit most from their small group training sessions (included in my trial membership). Small group training is a bit more personalized and tailored to the needs of the 4-5 participants. Tulsa Fitness Systems also offers personal training. On their website, it says they have some kind of program to improve your golf game? I think this would make a great Christmas gift for my boyfriend! They take credit cards. Plenty of parking. Cons: wish it was closer to my home or work, but totally worth the drive. I'm not crazy about all the running (not really that much, I just HATE running). I think I'm developing shin splints--which always happens when I run. I may start sneaking away when the running starts (usually at the end of the workout)...

I wanted to gain muscle and get strong--I started working with Manny and within a few months, he helped me accomplish something I had never been able to do before -- gain several pounds of muscle while simultaneously losing body fat and not running long distance. What sets Manny apart is that he doesn't just throw workouts at you. He pays attention to form, progression, recovery, nutrition, and consistency. He knows how to push you without burning you out, and he adjusts everything to fit your goals and your body. If you're serious about changing your body and want someone knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in your success, I can't recommend Manny enough--pro tip: make sure to count your own reps though, or he will add more

The heat helps loosen your muscles, leaves you feeling refreshed, and adds an extra layer of challenge to the workout. I do miss it, though I'm at a different gym for the time being. One of the things I loved most about Hotworx is the convenience--you simply book your session through the app, head to your private sauna room, set the temperature to your preference, and follow the workout displayed on the screen. I usually went early in the morning since I often had the room to myself. The studio is open 24/7, and while staff have set business hours, you can always access the building with your phone. Occasionally, they even provided essential oils to enhance the atmosphere, which was such a nice touch. Before entering the sauna, you'll need their special yoga mat (shoes stay outside), and there are cubbies to store your belongings. Beyond the saunas, there's also a weight room so you can round out your training with strength exercises. The location is well-equipped with showers and a separate bathroom, making it easy to work out and freshen up without rushing home. The staff and members were always welcoming, which gave the studio a real sense of community. They also host workshops on proper technique as well as fun social events like block parties. I loved being a part of it and hope to return when it fits my budget again. If you've ever been curious, I highly recommend giving Hotworx a try. They usually offer your first session free, and they'll even provide the mat so you can experience the workout the way it's meant to be.
