Our boot camp instructor got a promotion and now that is a class for premium members. With our basic membership, the only free classes were yoga twice a week at 7am (which doesn't fit with regular working schedules) and Zumba twice a week at 6pm. Limited cardio equipment. I am thrilled that they now have one in Jenks because that is the closest to me. The Jenks location has such a great community feel to it. Everyone is so friendly. And the people are laid back. You don't have to have the latest lululemon on (although I do wear that a lot) and you don't have to be a size zero. The classes are awesome! And they have a wide range from soft yoga to powerful. The instructors will always show you modifications for the poses. They have mats available to use there if you are new and don't have a mat yet. And they have all the props you will need. They have great introductory specials and you can pay a drop in rate or choose from their packages.

The welcoming and encouraging environment at Studio POP is what someone like me needed to start a regular routine of working out and yoga practice. When you're cycling, the lights are off and LED colored lights on the mirrors play to the music. This is my favorite since you don't have to worry about people seeing you get ugly if you need to! The music is upbeat and is the main focus of the ride, where trainers like my favorite, Nicole, ride to the beat of the song and incorporate fun moves to keep you going. On top of that, they always have the most encouraging and motivational words to share! Their yoga room is the complete opposite of the cycling room, very calm and serene. Classes are a very open environment for people from beginner to advanced, and instructors, while all having different styles of teaching, always offer an option that is either less strenuous or lets you go further with the pose. The entire staff is super friendly, and the owner, Abbie, is a bundle of joy! The facility is top notch and is always immaculate. They even have private showers so you can get ready for wherever you're going afterwards! This is the place to -invest- in your temple!

We started off with a yoga class, which definitely worked on many muscle groups (Core, back, leg, arm, and shoulder) to improve strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. The instructor had a very calm, soothing, and encouraging voice that helped us relax and ease and transition smoothly into the class. Following that, we jumped right into the spin class (indoor cycling workout) and pedaled very intensely to work on our hamstrings, quadriceps, and gluteal muscles. The spin instructor had great energy and was very motivating, which kept us going as long as we could. The music and lighting were also very upbeat and bright. After everything was over, we felt super tired, but glad that we came to this welcoming and encouraging environment. I highly recommend checking it out!

The trainers here are friendly and are very good about modifying exercises for those that need more/less intensity. Also, they're diligent about coming by to correct my form (which I need). Those with physical injuries/impairments would benefit most from their small group training sessions (included in my trial membership). Small group training is a bit more personalized and tailored to the needs of the 4-5 participants. Tulsa Fitness Systems also offers personal training. On their website, it says they have some kind of program to improve your golf game? I think this would make a great Christmas gift for my boyfriend! They take credit cards. Plenty of parking. Cons: wish it was closer to my home or work, but totally worth the drive. I'm not crazy about all the running (not really that much, I just HATE running). I think I'm developing shin splints--which always happens when I run. I may start sneaking away when the running starts (usually at the end of the workout)...

The heat helps loosen your muscles, leaves you feeling refreshed, and adds an extra layer of challenge to the workout. I do miss it, though I'm at a different gym for the time being. One of the things I loved most about Hotworx is the convenience--you simply book your session through the app, head to your private sauna room, set the temperature to your preference, and follow the workout displayed on the screen. I usually went early in the morning since I often had the room to myself. The studio is open 24/7, and while staff have set business hours, you can always access the building with your phone. Occasionally, they even provided essential oils to enhance the atmosphere, which was such a nice touch. Before entering the sauna, you'll need their special yoga mat (shoes stay outside), and there are cubbies to store your belongings. Beyond the saunas, there's also a weight room so you can round out your training with strength exercises. The location is well-equipped with showers and a separate bathroom, making it easy to work out and freshen up without rushing home. The staff and members were always welcoming, which gave the studio a real sense of community. They also host workshops on proper technique as well as fun social events like block parties. I loved being a part of it and hope to return when it fits my budget again. If you've ever been curious, I highly recommend giving Hotworx a try. They usually offer your first session free, and they'll even provide the mat so you can experience the workout the way it's meant to be.
