Love love love this place! Some of my best massages have been here. I usually like to come on a week day in the morning as they have early bird specials. I love getting their 90 minute combination massage and be walked on. All masseuses I've had here are strong and incredible - they are not afraid to go deep or provide firm pressure which I love. This spa is unassuming from the outside but I can't recommend them enough! read more

I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage. Paid and added a $20 tip. The woman at check out said for the time I had, the tip should've been $30-45 so I had to pull out my card and tip more!! Great massage, horrible customer service. If the service is actually $150 then make that known before reserving... read more

The masseuse was friendly, but I felt that the massage was average. Definitely on the cheaper side, so you get what you pay for. I'm giving a low rating because I felt pressured by the receptionist to add more tip. I was going to give the standard 15% tip for a service I deemed just average, and she insisted I pay the suggested tipping of at least 35%. She had attitude in her facial expressions and tone when I presented my initial tip, I was shocked. I did it anyways to not ruffle any feathers, but I will not be returning to this place. Very unprofessional. read more

I have been having excruciating lower back pain for about a month. My doctor told me to get a massage and I found this place! The inside is very relaxing and calm. The lights are dimmed and they're playing calming music. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and made sure that my parking was taken care of. (you need to do street parking, since there is no parking lot. She made sure that the meter did not run out.) I told my masseuse to focus on my lower back, which she did. I was nervous for the Thai portion of the massage since it was my first time, but she was amazing. She was very respectful and found every point of pain in my body. I will definitely be coming back here. They expect a high tip, but since the massage is already more affordable than other places in the area, and masseuses are very talented, it is worth it. I was able to bend down to put my shoes back on without any pain (which I have not been able to do for a long time!!!), and I walked out feeling amazing. read more

Peaceful, 50-50 massage of Thai and Swedish! Highly recommend for unwinding and decompressing.

Best massage I've ever had. Amy is a miracle worker. She's so strong. I feel like a tenderized piece of meat every time lol. Clean. Quiet. Very affordable too! read more

I used to love going here. For the most part, the masseuses are good. However, I felt it was quite unprofessional when I was verbally asked to increase my tip at checkout. It made me feel very uncomfortable. I was already offering a 15% tip, which I don't think is rude nor disrespectful nor unreasonable. But the receptionist asked me to consider tipping more while pointing to a "tip guide" they had on their desk. I ended up increasing my tip to her asking price - 30% (double!!) to avoid any negative altercations, but it definitely left me feeling uneasy. Tipping should be optional and based on personal choice, not something clients feel pressured into. It took away from what was otherwise a positive service. I will not be returning for this reason as it left a sour taste in my mouth and I felt social norms were violated. read more

Didn't have an apt but only waited 10 mins. Went in with a lot of shoulder and neck pain and walked out drastically better. I will definitely go back. read more

After many years of trying out all the massage services in the Palms/Culver City area, I can honestly say that Tranquility has been the most consistent, cleanest, and high quality massage experience for the price. For anyone complaining about their tip suggestion, I happily pay that amount and more because I'm just grateful for the reassurance that I'm getting the massage I needed. When you ask for a HARD pressure, and a focus on particular areas, they deliver. Thank you, Jean, for taking care of my calves! read more

Unfortunately, I feel I was refused service because the front desk staff did not think I was tipping enough. I have been a regular customer and always tip 20%, sometimes more if I am really happy with the session. On two recent visits, I was asked to increase my tip -- something I found inappropriate. The first time, I agreed, but the second time I politely explained that 20% is a fair gratuity. Since then, when I call, my number seems to be recognized, and I am either ignored or told there are no appointments available. This has been disappointing, especially given my loyalty as a customer. read more

I hate leaving a bad review for a place just because the customer service is rude and horrendous but here we are. The price for the massage and what you get is around 4-4.5 stars but this place is lucky I didn't drop them down to 1 star for how I was rudely accosted for not tipping more than 20 percent. They start the automatic tipping suggestion at 30% and when I dropped it down to 20% and submitted my payment, the woman behind the counter rudely glared at me and accosted me by saying "she did 90 minutes and you're only going to give her 20%!?" I replied 20 percent is standard for a job well done and how dare you. Honestly the service and price is great but please lose or fire the lady at the front desk - she's a menace to the business' success and just plain rude. read more

WOW! My friend treated me to a massage today at Tranquility Body Spa. I chose the deep tissue massage and Amy was my masseuse. I consider myself a connoisseur of deep tissue massages and let me just say it was one of the BEST massages I have ever had! I will be going back and requesting AMY over and over again!!! read more

Every time I am in town, or even 45mins away, I still make a point to come here for a much needed massage. They still blow everyone else out of the park. I am VERY particular about my massages, and they nail it every single time! And their price point is great! If you need real relief, this is the place to go, no fluff, just results. read more

I have been here twice now. The first time, I was very happy with my deep tissue massage. I believe I got Amy and she was STRONG. I loved that she really made it a deep tissue massage, like I was bruised in some parts but that's the way I like it. :) The next month, I excitedly brought my partner back and we both requested the deep tissue massage. This time, I got another woman. She didn't ask about which massage I wanted nor about her pressure and she for sure just gave me the basic massage. She was older so I decided not to make a stink about it since it was just a $10 difference in price. What I didn't like though, was the forced tipping choices at the time of payment. It STARTS at 35%! So with paying more for a massage I didn't get AND the forced exorbitant tip, I left feeling extorted and with a bad taste in my mouth for this place. I won't be going back. I hate to post negative reviews on what looks like an immigrant own, female owned business but I am hoping this review makes them rethink their business practices. The high forced tipping is insulting and the inconsistency in service isn't good for customer retention. I am a respectful customer who always tips around 25% but when you take advantage of your customers, it's just not going to be good for you long term. I should say that my partner got a nice deep tissue massage so they at least delivered there. read more

This is a no frills Thai spa. They have no facilities, just massage rooms, but they get it right. It's always clean, and the massage is always affective. I honestly don't know why I ever go anywhere else. I've been coming here randomly for about 5 years and am always satisfied with the service. The last time, the front desk worker even fed the parking meter for me while I was getting a massage. Top tier customer service. read more

Love, love, love this place. Best massages, great and friendly customer service. I have been coming for years and will continue to do so!

Incredible massage! Amy was spot on with her massage skills. I never had anyone walk on my body before. I was nervous at first, but she walked me through it lol . She constantly checked in to assess. One thing I learned from her...you have to communicate to your massage therapist so they get to know you and your body. I will definitely be back!!! read more

Warm, friendly neighborhood place with incredible staff from the front desk (who's the best), to the relaxing environment (great smells & sounds, calming rooms). You cannot go wrong at this place - and it's worth trying to find which of all the great masseuses you prefer there, as the best masseuse I've ever found in my long life is at Tranquility (and that's after having worked with hundreds of therapists that don't even come close to comparing). read more

I went here for a 60-minute combination massage. The massage therapist, Shareen, was knowledgeable, thorough, and applied good pressure based on my needs. I'd come back again. read more

THEY WALKED ON OUR BACKS! :O My aunt and I walked out of our one hour combo massages in awe. My aunt (a seasoned massage getter) and myself (a novice massage getter) both couldn't believe the skill we witnessed. It was a pleasurable experience and I'll definitely be back. I had Anne and my aunt had Jean. The music was very relaxing and the aroma in the oils was very calming. Anne was kind, soft spoken and always asked before she initiated a treatment. The take card but prefer a cash tip. There is metered street parking or you can park for two hours in the neighborhood (make sure it's not a street sweeping day). Don't park in the lot next to the parlor. read more

My friend recommended this place I was pleasantly surprised. I like that they have individual rooms it's very clean. And the massages are great. I don't get massages often so there's not really much I can recommend The only thing I can say is that the massage I got here I enjoyed it was very relaxing and my masseuse help me relax. read more

Tranquility Body Spa - Massage Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Awesome . Felt so relaxed after. I will definitely go back as soon as I can. They got me in last min too

So I've been calling since yesterday to book an appointment but either there's no answer or I can't contact them. I tried to call again this morning they're already open but it seems that my number is blocked or they cancel my call. I TRIED TO CALL USING A DIFFERENT NUMBER AND THEY ANSWERED IMMEDIATELY. So i found out that they knew my number. I once canceled my appointment to them and then they remembered my number and so whenever I call them they either not answer it or they cancel my call. It's just unprofessional on how they deal with customers who cancelled their appointment once with them. read more

I had a pleasant massage experience but the costumer service didn't met a good expectation. I left over 15% tip on 1hr massage and the front desk person asked to leave more and she was rude after I told her I had already tipped. The prices have already increased by 36-38% over the last 3 years, it's the establishment responsibility to set their wages accordingly too, not the customer. As a reminder- Tipping is OPTIONAL, not a requirement. read more

I love so may therapist here Amy Jean and Pat. It's a no frills type of place but clean individual rooms with doors. They step on you in true Thai fashion and stretch you out! They have specials for mid day massages and the price is incredible for the service. Highly recommend read more

I went to the tranquility body spa today. I thought my appointment was at 1 but it was at 12 but they still accepted me and gave me the full hour massage even though I was late without a late fee. The massage was great! I got the deep tissue massage and she really focused on my shoulders because I had a lot of pain in there. I think it's worth it for the price! They also speak really low so it's gives off ASMR vibes so it's really relaxing! Will definitely come back again :) read more

You want a great Thai massage this is the place. Easy to book appointments. Make sure you park in the 2 hour parking spots. If you park in the 1 hr meter parking let the front desk staff know and they will add money to the meter for you. This is not a fancy spa. Very dated but great service. read more

PRO: Clean, courteous, understands english CON: -Quoted lower price on phone dispite clearly confirming price and length of time. You can't be off by $30! Pricing on Yelp is a trap. Ended up paying $95 and added only $10 in tip for what I percieved as their dishonesty. -Masseur was accommodating, but definitely did not know pressure points and definitely did not apply enough pressure. OVERALL: I've been for a massage about once every 2 weeks for the past 20 years. I would not come back more because quality of massage was mediocre, but also made worse by comparing quality of service rendered to price. read more

My husband and I booked massages here on a whim. We found street parking up front and didn't have to pay the meter since it was a Sunday. We originally thought we could park in the lot next door but learned that the lot is for tenants only. Don't park there or you'll be towed! The space has probably seen better days so don't come here for the ambiance. Come for the reasonable prices and the service. I opted for an hour hot stone massage ($65) and my husband had the combo massage (deep tissue and Thai) ($55). The massage room was clean and the massage was great! The masseuse checked in with me on the pressure throughout the service and was very professional. My husband also enjoyed his combo massage. We paid for our massages and tips with a credit card. The amount we tipped was more than what the signs requested for tips (they're posted everywhere) but it's kind of a turnoff to be policed about it. Not a fan of that. We plan to come back here since we both enjoyed our massages. read more

They require 30% tip regardless of how you felt about the massage. My therapist was sweet, but not the best from my experience. I had to ask her to be gentle a few times since it was painful. My neck and back were sore for a few days after I received massage, so if you want that kind of massage, this is the right place for you. Also, footsteps from second floor was pretty noisy.. so if you're looking for total relaxation, go elsewhere. I paid by credit card but offered to tip by cash. Receptionist lady was happy about that but when I gave her 20% tip, she paused and obviously was in bad mood. Then she said "can you pay more?" I was like.. I gave you 20% though? And she was like "most of the ppl pay more here. " so I asked her how much I should pay. She said $4 more. I felt bad I didn't know their on-going rates but she gave me the attitude for just $4 more? Without even asking how my experience was? I prefer "$100 for massage and no tip necessary" to avoid this type of confusing convo. Health Land Body Spa in Santa Monica is my usual massage place and I should've gone to the place instead of trying new place they have fantastic therapists and receptionist is always friendly and NOT rude. I'll go back to the place and definitely start tipping more there now that I know the real On going rates! read more

I had a really great massage, but twice I've gone and the lady at the front desk is rude and demands more in gratuity than you would like to pay. She will block your phone number and your ability to come if you don't pay the tip she wants you to pay. This is very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I will not be returning. If you want a customer to pay more charge more but a gratuity or a tip is a courtesy not a demand. NEVERAGAIN read more

A few friends recommended my wife and me this spa. We'd been going sometimes in groups, sometimes just the two of us. For about a year, everything was great. One day when making an appointment, the receptionist (recognizing my wife's voice) asked, "Who else is coming to the spa with you?" When she told her it was just the two of us, she put us on hold, came back, and said "That's okay, then." My wife asked why that even mattered. The receptionist said that the masseuses thinks a particular friend of ours doesn't tip enough money, so they didn't want to serve him anymore. This, of course, caused turmoil within our group. How do you confront a friend for potentially being a cheap tipper and not have it come across as awkward? When we told our "bad tipping" friend what the receptionist accused him of, he was shocked and said he tipped 20-25% each time. Then he showed us receipts. To be clear, tipping is an OPTION. Not a requirement. The fact that 25% on a $100 massage so enraged the staff here that they essentially banned one of us is unprofessional. They look like cowards. If they weren't, they'd take that energy, come together and direct it toward the seemingly low-paying owner of the establishment. Instead, they decided to ban customers who have nothing to do with them getting shafted by their boss -- because they believe a 25% tip is too little. You guys just lost seven loyal customers. Word's already spreading. Avoid them like the plague. They aren't THAT good. read more

Just got the 90 combination. Absolutely phenomenal. Thanks guys. Very professional. I feel like a noodle.

They're back in business and are doing in person visits. I went for the combination of Swedish and Thai massage for an hour. Mediocre at best. FYI- They do a minimum tip irrespective of service. 30% minimum irrespective of how you feel about it. read more

Great little massage place right in Culver City. I did the Combination (Swedish and Thai), one hour for $50. They walk on top of you and climb on you. The front lobby is a little warm but the actual massage rooms are air conditioned. There is no parking- only street parking. The rooms don't have doors, only curtains, so I could hear a man grunting in the next room over, but once the A/C kicked in, it drowned out the noise. There was a little bit of a language barrier. Overall great experience. read more
