Beautiful decor HORRIBLE SERVICE. My friend and I had an appointment at 10:30 . We walk in at 10:30 and they took another customer and began to rudely tell us that it was our fault for not accurately telling them what we wanted done. We waited on the couches for several minutes until I heard the store manager talking badly about my friend and I to other customers. I was astonished that he would do that while my friend and I were patiently waiting even though we had an appointment . We walked out and he sarcasticly said "thanks for coming". My 3 daughters and I went here for the first time to get our nails done for an upcoming wedding. The staff was less than friendly. My nail technician was rough, filed my skin and did not smile or make eye contact the whole time. The salon was semi busy and the staff was yelling to one another from across the large space, this experience was less than relaxing... I felt that staff was rushed and just wanted to get us done. When it was time to pay ( almost 300 due to everything being extra) the woman checking us out told me that since I was paying by credit card she would not be giving me a punch card because the credit card company's charge them too much in fees. Not my problem as I am the customer spending a lot of money and still tipping in cash. This place lacks basic customer service. I will not go back and I will spend my money at a friendlier, more customer based salon. This place is only about making money. Would not recommend. read more

I want to first start off by saying that I (in the past) have really enjoyed my experiences at Tran. However, yesterday was my first time going there in about 4 months and it was AWFUL. Making me think twice about all the recommendations I have made to others and all the money I have spent there. I stopped in for a simple manicure. While I was picking out my color, I was approached by JACKY who tried to convince me to get a no-chip after I politely declined 3 times. I continued looking for my color and after about 45 seconds, he came back and asked if I was ready. It felt as though he was in a rush, however, the place was not busy and there were even a couple nail techs sitting around. If I was ready, I would have my color in hand, looking to take a seat. So I quickly picked a color, took a seat at his station, and received the most rushed manicure I've ever gotten in my life. From start to finish, my service lasted 15 minutes and everything he did was so careless and fast. While he was clipping my nails, he clipped the skin on one of my fingers because he clipped the nail too short. I quickly pulled my hand back in discomfort and he giggled. No "I'm sorry, are you okay?" Nothing. So then he goes to do my cuticles and only clips them at the top of my nails. There is still dead skin around the sides of my nails that he didn't even attempt to fix. Then he began using the buffer and was so harsh and abrupt that he cut my pinkie nail to the point that it began to bleed. Once again, instead of saying sorry or asking if I was okay, he looked at the buffer in disbelief. It wasn't the buffer dude, it was you going crazy on my nails with no care in the world. At this point, my typically patient self was really starting to get frustrated. Then it was time for the massage, which I kid you not, lasted about 25 seconds per hand. It was terrible and such a disappointment. My nails were also not filed straight and there were a few I had to ask him to fix before painting my nails. I also got into my car after drying and filed them again myself. Overall, my experience was so disappointing. I am very happy that I was getting nothing more than a manicure because it would not have been worth 1 penny more for him to rush through a service that costs more. I thought the inside of this salon was beyond beautiful! It definitely gets high reviews for the spaciousness, cleanliness and the massage chairs they use. There was also a great selection of nail colors to choose from. I thought their prices were very reasonable and they offer a lot of selections in terms of different kinds of pedicures and manicures. They were also accommodating when I had to push back my appointment by 15 minutes since I was caught in traffic. My complaint is that when my friend and I came into the salon and asked for pedicures, the technicians didn't really know the differences between the kinds of pedicures they offer. They also didn't seem to know exactly what they were doing in terms of the sugar scrub, lotion, wax, length of time for massage and even kind of massage. They spoke to each other throughout the pedicure to tell each other what came next. Once the pedicures were through, I thought the paint job was excellent, but it took an hour for my nails to dry. That seems way too long.. and because of it, one of my nails got messed up when I arrived home. Additionally, it had only been a week since I had my pedicure done and already I had polish chipping... Now 2.5 weeks later, most of the polish on my nails is already gone... I think the polish should have stayed on at least 3 weeks before it started chipping, especially for the prices of the pedicures. read more

I got great pedis both times I was here. Although, the first time you go, you can join their text program and get a $10 gift certificate. The signage about it is unclear though that you need to ASK for the gift certificate on your first visit and then you can APPLY the gift certificate on a later visit. Kind of irritating. I really wanted to like this place. I enjoyed my pedicure, the girl was really nice and did a decent job. I hate to complain when getting services like this. I know im not the only one who feels this way, that's why yelp is so popular! A HUGE thing that made me want to leave right away and drove me crazy the whole time was that she used an old, really worn down nail file and buffer that she had used on all her other clients. This is very UNSANITARY! I rarely treat myself to a pedicure. I have gone 2 times to Diva nail salon in schaumburg, they use a brand new, unopened packages of files on everyone. Everything else used that was made of steel was clearly removed from a container where it was being disinfected. Additionally, they really work hard on removing dead skin. Diva nails pedicure is $2 cheaper than Tran also! I can't believe no one else has complained about the unsanitary practices here! I am going to call and talk to them about it, in addition to this post. read more

I have been to Trans Nails 7 times in the last three months. The first 5 were great. Nice service, beautiful clean space, and my nails looked beautiful each time. Two weeks ago I went in for a no-chip manicure and "Ocean" was the technician. He seemed completely annoyed that he had another client (I was there an hour and a half before close). He was aggressively yanking on my arm, wrist and fingers. Not friendly at all. He cut all my cuticles back so far they were still bleeding two days later. It was the worst experience I had there by a mile. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon period. I decided to chalk it up to one bad experience and I would just be sure to stay clear of "Ocean" the next time I was in. I went back today. I asked for a no-chip manicure and pedicure. They told me it would be about a 20 minute wait. Three women walked in after me. Two women were taking to a station before me. So after waiting patiently for 30 minutes I walked out. Not waiting for a third strike. This place is off my list. read more

Ok, I'm done. I had a less than average manicure a few weeks ago. She clipped my cuticle and made it bleed then dipped into the oil jar and went nail to nail. Unsanitary. I had polish on my cuticles and they didn't not look good. I thought maybe I just had a bad technician. Today I again had a basic mani and pedicure. The pedicure was short and so-so. The manicure was terrible. This girl ALSO clipped my cuticle and made it bleed. Dry pieces of skin were left hanging on the cuticles, a little polish off the nail she didn't fix. And the polish was old or thick because hours later it was still soft and dented and became a little bubbly. I like that it's big and there is almost always a technician available, but it's not worth bleeding cuticles and unsanitary nail oil. Yuck. read more

So I've been here before and they had a 30 minute wait so I left was there again today and no wait also my acrylic fill looked good what I wasn't happy about was that my fill took waay too long longer than I've ever experienced anywhere else overall this place looks clean and big and new just go when you have no where else to be. read more

Went for first time in November prior to vacation for a pedicure. My first impression was the cleanliness of the salon which is important to me. There were Lysol cleaning bottles next to each station for disinfecting the foot baths. Chloe did my pedicure and Ocean did my friend's. We initiated conversation and both were nice and pleasant to talk to. Just give them a que whether you want to be quiet while enjoying your pedicure or engage in conversation with them. Be nice and they're nice. We brought our flip flops which they put on us prior to polishing our nails. I felt like I got a quality pedicure, they took their time and this pedicure has been perfect, without a chip, smudge or dullness to this day. My nails have since grown out some and could probably use another, but the pedicure is still amazingly perfect. After performing our pedicure, we witnessed them washing the implements and placing them in the sterilizer and using the Lysol to clean the foot bath, nice sanitation! We spent plenty of time in the air dryer to dry our nails. I am quite pleased with Tran and would go again even though they are slightly higher in prices than other salons. Definitely not a place I would choose to go again. The pedicurist was very rough when massaging my legs and feet, enough where bruising is likely to occur. Also, my nail polish was sloppily done. Not even the entire nail was painted on more than half of my toes. And my nails were trimmed at strange angles. She definitely rushed through it, and hurried me off before the paint was dry, so it got smudged, twice! I didn't even bother having her fix it the second time. They have a timer next to the pedicure chair to ensure they spend a certain amount of time on each client, but she spent over 35min on the "pampering" part, and thirty seconds on the polish. Now I'm at home fixing the nail polish job that I paid $30 for. It's too bad because I did a deal where I got a $10 gift card for spending $27 or more and signing up for text messages, and I don't even want to use it! read more

My daughter and I and her friends frequent this salon for no chip manicures as well as pedicures. My daughter is 17 and since Tran Nails opened, we have been going there for every occasion, including trips and dances. Last weekend my daughter brought 3 of her friends there for various nail services in preparation for prom.. Each girl spent at least $65 on services and two were over $100. One girl paid her bill and realized she did not have enough for a tip. The nail tech "called her out" and made her feel stupid and bad in front of her friends and other customers. I understand that tips are most often included but should NEVER be EXPECTED. Is it worth that torment to have these girls and their moms never return?!! My no chip manicure chipped that night, btw, regardless of the $20 tip I gave. Do I now get that back? How incredibly rude and insensitive to treat a teenage girl who save over $60 to spend at this nail salon. We all know that nail places are a dime a dozen!! Not a smart business move, in my opinion. Again, TIPS are not your right and not ALWAYS possible. Perhaps you should lower your prices a bit if a young girl cannot afford to tip every time! read more

I'm really sorry to say that I've gone back several times and had fairly good experiences, and on the most recent visit I had a terrible experience. My technician, "Amy", cut my cuticles way too short, making them bleed, and then repeatedly asked me if I bite my cuticles. When I said no, she said well you shouldn't bite them, which I thought was really weird. She then refused to give me a punch on my card for the no chip manicure I had just had, for reasons I didn't understand. Instead, she signed over my punch for the previous no chip I had gotten. When I questioned this, they instead gave my mother a new punch card with a stamp (even though she had not gotten a no chip manicure). Something was clearly lost in translation, and I was very annoyed. Not because of the punch, but because Amy was rude about it and was clearly complaining about it to the other technicians. Very disappointing, ruined the experience. Stay clear of Amy. read more
