So glad I finally discovered Tralia in Gulf Gate! Easily some of the best pizza I've had in Sarasota. We tried the Detroit-style Roni & Hot Honey, with pepperoni and Hot Honey, and it was absolutely fantastic -- crispy, flavorful, and the perfect combination of savory, spicy, and sweet. Tralia has also earned a well-deserved spot in the Michelin Guide, and after trying it, we can see why! If you haven't discovered this Gulf Gate gem yet, definitely put it on your list. We'll absolutely be back!
This place is off the path but once you get in it's awesome. We like everything we had and the bartender made great recommendations. The provolone rings are so good and the polenta chicken is the bomb. The pizza was delish my bf had to tralia os and they were good too. Get the garlic cream to dip crust in so good. The thin crust was my fave too.
Arrived for our mini get away and stopped by for lunch. There was available seating however filled up pretty quick shortly after. Definitely come early if you can. We started with the ceasar salad, my husband is a big fan of ceasar salad, he said it was delicious and quickly finished it. Then we ordered the rounded funghi pizza, and it was very yummy and finished that as well. We're usually pack lots of left overs but the pizza was devoured. We tried the polenta fried chicken, it wasn't what we thought and was pretty hard to eat. So we tried the ricotta meatballs, which def made up for our previous dish. FYI: If you're looking for the creamy polenta, go for the ricotta meatballs. We mistakenly thought the polenta fried chicken had creamy polenta.
Michelin recommended !! We could not get reservations as they were fully booked one month in advance so we winged it and walked in. We were a party of 9 Told us it was a two hour wait. So we waited Was it worth the wait you may ask??? YES. YES YES YES started out with the meatballs, best I have ever tasted. Next we had the provolone rings DELICIOUS crispy rings of cheese what more could you ask for? Cesar's salad was topped high with shaved parm amazing We ordered 6 pizza all Chicago style The classic and MVP CRISPY edges filled with the most delicious sauces Ambiance was very nice simple decor
We used to go to 99 bottles for Anthony"s pizza , but when he opened in Gulf Gate the first time we weren't fans.... scroll forward to this new place and have to say it's def the best pizza in town Again ! Terrific flavors and crust (we had hot honey pepperoni and the funghi (mushroom) with sausage). Panda Cotta for dessert - very well done. It's at the top of my local pizza list !! The place was well appointed and a proper dining area nicely decorated and subdued. Music was a bit loud, but manageable. Service was informed and friendly.
3/5 Stars (6/10) - Underwhelming for a Michelin-Rated Spot I was really excited to try this place given its reputation, but unfortunately, the meal didn't live up to the hype. The Salad: We ordered two salads based on photos showing fresh, shredded cheese on top. What we received looked and tasted like pre-shaken cheese--a noticeable drop in quality from what was advertised. The Pizza: The main issue was consistency. Every slice seemed cooked differently, leading to a weird mix of textures and flavors across the same pie. For a restaurant with this level of acclaim, I expected much better quality control and attention to detail.
Super glad we got to try this place! Randomly popped in without a resy because we were on vacay and they were able to seat us at the bar. We went simple with a basic cheese Detroit style pizza and beers. Very happy with the pizza as it's been years since I've had Detroit style. The edges were perfectly crispy. Would definitely come back and try other flavors if we lived here.
Wife and I stopped here on the way to siesta key because we saw it was was on the Michelin guide. I would recommend making this a stop as food was great and definitely has a menu that wants us to try more next time we're in the area. We ordered the caesar salad, funghi artisan pizza, polenta fried chicken, and the meatballs. Caesar salad was amazing! I love caesar salad and this is in my top 3. My only regret was not adding the parmesan chicken. Funghi pizza was fantastic and was perfect as a artisan pizza. We're not always fans of Detroit pizza style so love you can get any pizza as an artisan round pizza Meatballs were good, loved the creamy polenta and complemented the marina and meatball perfectly. The polenta friend chicken was our least favorite. Chicken was very fried and sometime to tough to eat. Sounded good on menu but was not our fav. Other then that everything else was good and we definitely want to go back to try different things.
We decided to try Tralia on a Saturday afternoon and we got in. The restaurant is located in the same Location as my favorite taco place, the screaming goat that closed a few years ago. The restaurant is a little bigger since they added some seating. We were warmly greeted and got a 2 seater bench seat. The bar stools are a little lower than the bench, so my wife got to be taller than me . Ok, on to the food. We split the Caesar Salad and it was very good. We both decided to go with the Detroit style since our favorite pizza in the USA is still Buddy's Pizza in Detroit. My wife got the Classic and it was very good. I had the Supreme and while the cook was perfect, my pie lacked enough meat, still very good just not next level IMO. On our next visit, we will try the rounds. Service and overall hospitality were excellent. Only 1 picture since my wife had to be my photographer, a job she hated.
If I could give more than five stars I would! If there's a wait in the off-season, I can't imagine what it's like in season. If you have the opportunity to make a reservation do so, it's small inside, including the bar, which has some seating but not enough to linger at. We had to wait 45 minutes-ish for a table and it was well worth it. While we were waiting, we went to the bar to have a couple drinks. My husband had a beer and the selection was OK, I had the lemoncello spritz, which was so refreshing. Once we got to our table, there were three of us, and we all were greeted by the most friendly server. We ordered a Caesar salad, which was mounded with Parmesan and tossed with light Caesar dressing. The Caesar dressing didn't leave a heavy taste in my mouth and that was a first. For dinner we had Detroit style pizza with pepperoni, banana peppers, and mushroom and I could actually taste each one since it wasn't overpowered by sauce. The dough was so fluffy and light and the cheesy crust exterior was delicious. The sauce was generous and not too spicy that you could taste each ingredient from the tomatoes to the pepper to the seasonings, oregano etc. Yes, people complain about the size of the Detroit style pizza and the price however, if you've ever eaten high end Detroit style like this, you would know they are not very big and they are pricey, but worth the cost. If you want cheap go to one of the chains pay your $10 but you won't get that here. For dessert we had one of the best tiramisu I've ever had. The ladyfingers were crispy not soggy so they could support the espresso and cream that came along with it as tiramisu usually does. I've always had soggy tiramisu where the ladyfingers have been sitting in the custard for so long that they just become gooey and fall apart. This was fresh and absolutely delicious. We took our leftovers to go and I ended up eating another slice of pizza in the morning for breakfast because I couldn't stop thinking about how delicious it was. Shout out to Nick, who actually was hustling all over the restaurant doing chore after chore. Not that the rest of the staff weren't doing a fabulous job. However, at one point Nick had to run across the street with a bucket of ice just to make sure that the patrons were happy and hydrated. Also, thank you Nick for taking the time during a busy dinner hour to chat and answer a few of our questions.
Located in Gulf Gate among many other pizza restaurants. We started out with a Caesar Salad that was covered with finely shredded cheese. Excellent! They have two types of pizza an Artisan and a Sicilian. I opted for the Sicilian with cup char pepperoni and a honey tomato sauce. The sauce was too tomatoey for my taste and there was much pepperoni so it was hard to taste it. The crust was ok and the edges had baked cheese . Can't say I enjoyed the pizza.My wife ordered Chicken Parm. A huge piece of breaded chicken covered with sauce and cheese. The chicken was very tender and she enjoyed the dish. Service was very good and just a very plain interior with high top tables and regular tables. I will return and try the Artisan pizza to see if I like it better..
Took the family out here for dinner! I walk past it every day; saw it got rated Michelin 2026. We made a 415 reservation to avoid lines. Walked right in and sat at our table. Was already 70% full. Ambience was good. Wait staff was friendly and fast. We ordered a lot and it all came super quickly, hot and tasted delicious ! Family loved it!! We ate and were in and out in 45 mins. My family eats super quickly but they even took home left overs and are excited to eat them. Go here and try it all!
Highly recommend this place, the pizza is delicious. We were stopping by siesta key and found this pizza place on Google with great reviews. My absolute favorite pizza is Detroit style. We got a regular vodka pizza with caramelized onions and a Detroit style with meatballs and ricotta. They originally forgot our ricotta which isn't a big deal. The regular pizza with the vodka sauce was OUTSTANDING. 10/10 would get again. I was unsure if I would like the vodka sauce on pizza but it was so good! The crust was fluffy and delicious- just how I like it. The Detroit style, unfortunately, didn't impress me as much as the regular pizza. I love red sauce, but their marinara was not my favorite- slightly sweet but lacked depth. The whole pizza just didn't have as much flavor as I would like. It was not terrible but I would probably opt for a different type of Detroit (maybe vodka) or just go for the regular pizza. Still VERY solid choice if you're in the area!

Tralia Pizza was packed on a Monday, which tells you something. Yeah, it's a little crammed inside, but I was happy to squeeze in. The space feels stylish and visually memorable, with that trendy, lively buzz that makes you want to stay a while. The menu stood out to me -- distinctive, with plenty of choices and a bunch of good shareable options. What I ordered was flavorful and rich, well-seasoned with bold flavors that still tasted fresh. You can tell the ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were generous enough that the price felt fair. Service kept pace with the crowd: attentive, quick, and my table was ready on time. Parking was easy, which helped in Sarasota on such a busy night. Works just as well for a date night as it does for a group dinner. I'll be back. read more
I love Detroit deep dish pizza and was excited to try Tralia as it it gets a high rating. I ordered one Roni and Hot Honey and a regular Detroit style pizza. The pizzas smelt so delicious. I love the sauce and that it had garlic in it. The cheese crust is a great touch! I really enjoyed the flavours in the Roni and Hot Honey but felt like the regular Detroit style fell a bit flat for me and needed a bit more cheese and flavour. I would try other pizzas from here and would recommend the Roni and Hot Honey Detroit pizza! read more

In town for a week vacation at the beach in siesta key. Ordered pizza from this gem. Absolutely loved the pizza from here. In my opinion it is the best pizza in town. I live in miami and there's lots of options for pizza. This pizza tasted so fresh and was worth it every bite. Also affordable for family's. Def check it out read more

Amazing as always! This place is an absolute gem. They popularize the Detroit style pizza but with a sourdough crust.... Their sauces are amazing from the pesto, red sauce, fennel ranch to the house buffalo.... Tralia is fantastic. Tried take out for the first time, and made it an hour home, reheated in the oven and it was still perfection. This place is top notch! read more

Stopped here for lunch.. wow, Amazing! I wanted to order so many things but it was just me this time so I will definitely be back! The provolone rings is their take on Mottz sticks and was severed with vodka sauce, extremely good. The Detroit "Slice" of Roni and Honey was absolutely deliciousness in every bite and yes I ate the whole thing.. the mini pepperonis, the sweet sauce, the spicy hot honey, perfect amount of cheese and I have no idea what or how they do the unique crust all around but it was perfection. Best gourmet pizza in Sarasota, hands down. I have been a native of Sarasota for 30 plus years and I have seen great pizza joints go out of business. The selection has been so disappointing the last few years, especially in the Gulf Gate area, but Tralia has taken our #1 spot for delicious and fresh ingredient pizza. It is worth every penny. The NY style crust is flakey and crispy. The Detroit style is super crunchy and fulfills my old craving for Pizza Hut pan crust pizza but of course with super high quality ingredients and toppings. Everything we have tried on the menu has been delicious. When we want a fast, mid grade pizza we order Sals or Demetrio's but when we want a treat we order Tralia. read more

Absolutely loved this pizza spot! Very cool ambiance, good music, and overall welcoming place. The Cesar salad was fantastic, best I've had in a while. Can't say enough about the pizza! We got the classic with pepperonis and it was delicious. I don't know what they do to the crust but it's to die to for. So glad we found this place while visiting Sarasota. read more

Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did. We started with the provolone rings. They look like donuts but tasted like mozzarella sticks. Really delicious with a nice dipping sauce. Then we got an mvp pizza Detroit style. Marinara , vodka and pesto sauce combo was dynamite. Crispy crust with toasted cheese on edges was perfect. The service was good our waitress was friendly and attentive. The place is nice inside with a small bar. The owner came over and checked on us. Nice touch. I'm used to really good pizza coming from Long Island and this definately measured up. Best pizza I have had in Florida by far. read more

So great! Fantastic service, especially on a Friday evening. The food does take a little while to come out, so be prepared for that, but everything we had was absolutely worth the wait. We ordered both a Detroit-style pizza and a classic, and loved them both. We will definitely be back! read more

Although there are so many pizza places to choose from in Gulf Gate, Tralia is amazing and is definitely one of the top! Our server was extremely sweet and genuine. The menu had a ton of red and white pizzas to choose from, all of which can be ordered as Detroit-style or round. We ordered a cheese round pizza and vodka sauce Detroit-style. The round pizza was cooked perfectly with a nice blistering on the crust, and the Detroit-style's edging was lined with crispy, melted cheese! I definitely plan to go back and try more flavors. read more

I hadn't been in since they first opened and blew me away for the first time. This evening I thought I'd stop by and congratulate the good folk at Tralia for their recent Michelin commendation. My opinion hasn't wavered a bit. They were absolutely packed on a Monday night in the off season and the pizza was as life changing as I remember. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Competent crew, good attitudes, good hustle, and the best pizza ever made in Sarasota by light years. read more

Good pizza. HORRIBLE service!! Place is too small and the booths are so uncomfortable and not a kid friendly place at all! Got there promptly for our reservation, we wanted a booth for three people that we asked for on the reservation..when we got there they said they overbooked their reservations and they were a little behind, but then in the same breath, they sat people that did not have a reservation at all so right away I felt super disrespected, and then they sat us in a booth where my toddler kept sliding off dangerously because the booth is so high up off the ground then I asked to be moved to the corner booth, and after some hesitation from them, I finally just made the decision myself to get us up and move us to the booth because I have had enough and the waitress was absolutely horrible. She never even asked my husband if he wanted a second glass of wine or checked on us throughout our meal we had to constantly ask for her service. I don't know her name and she didn't really introduce herself and she came over to the table super rudely when we first got seated, only way to identify her I is she has tattoos on her neck, especially the back of her neck to be honest both waitresses were horrible and they didn't even provide new plates when we ordered more food and I had to ask for a plate for my child like come on now... Unfortunately, because of how bad it was, we will never be back here and then at the end of the meal she tried to be super nice because of course she wanted a tip the waitress.. and then told us to wait a little bit because our brownie was coming out for our anniversary. Let me just tell you that brownie was absolutely horrible. It was cold. It was thick and crumbly and you should be ashamed at putting out food like that and your macaroni and cheese with truffle was absolutely horrible as well. Never again. Thanks for nothing! read more

Came in on a Wednesday night and the place was already filling up - always a good sign. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and friendly hostess who made us feel right at home. The interior is clean and inviting, with plenty of tables and some bar seating in front of the beer taps. I especially loved the elevated tables along the wall, giving you a great view of the restaurant. Now let's talk about the food. Holy wow. We ordered the Detroit 'Roni with hot honey and were absolutely mind blown. The sourdough-based crust was everything you want in a Detroit-style pie--perfectly crisped on the outside, yet soft, warm, and fluffy inside. That kind of consistency is hard to pull off, but they nailed it. The sweet tomato sauce, layered over crispy pepperoni and finished with a drizzle of hot honey, was a flavor bomb in the best way. Next time, I'm definitely adding jalapeños. We also tried the polenta wings, and I can't even begin to explain how good they were--you just have to experience them. The crispy polenta coating was light and flavorful without that greasy fried taste, and the chicken inside was juicy and cooked to perfection. The homemade buffalo sauce might be a top 5 of all time for me--super thick, rich, and so good I could've eaten it with a spoon. Pair that with their chunky, fresh blue cheese dressing and... wow. Their beer selection is solid and reasonably priced, rounding out an already amazing meal.
