Loved this for a quick bite to eat before a movie. Never been here before but impressed with salad and pizza. I had a piece of square and a piece of this crust. My preference was the thicker square pizza which was very good. My wife had a great salad which was extremely good and large for $10. One suggestion though as we dined in, the 2 large AC unit filters hanging in the rafters looked like haven't been changed in over a year. Simple easy fix to do this every couple months. First time really eating here. It was definitely hot inside and not very enticing to stay. They had many pizza options out that you could order from to get a slice or two. I opted for the buffalo chicken and a cheese Sicilian slice. Overall the buffalo had no flavor. When in downtown running errands, this is a good place to pick up a pizza or a few slices of pizza. I have only ordered pizza to go and it heats up well for a flavorful snack. Last time, I ordered half a margarita pizza without cheese and half with cheese. They quickly recovered from their shock ( guess they have not enjoyed pizza rossa in Italy yet) and created a very tasty treat! Bad service, messed up my pizza and didn't want to make it right even after i brought it up to them.

The crust is toothsome and chewy with a charred edge and enough bubbles. The sauce tastes like rich tomato and not a sugar bomb. The cheese is mozzarella. It melts exactly like it's supposed to. No weird cheese mixes that coagulate and come off in strange shreds. The sausage doesn't look like rat pellets and tastes like real Italian sausage. I always get mushroom and sausage or pepperoni but I did try their margherita. It was not authentic as it didn't have fior de latte mozzarella but it did have fresh basil and tasted yummy nonetheless. Warning: they do have a pineapple and ham "pizza". Down in Sarasota for a little day trip. Looking for someplace that has sandwiches to take down to the park. While riding down Main Street we passed I'll Panificio. Glad we did! Given the Wuhan virus situation it was not crowded so we ordered. We go the Italian sandwich to share. Plenty big for 2. It was very fresh. The bread was really good along with the cold cuts, especially the pepper crusted ham. You may say an Italian sandwich is pretty much the same but that would be wrong. Been coming here for years and years. Love the pizza. But in recent years, the store has been turned over to kids. Service has gone from considerate to AWFUL. Today, I called and ordered a regular cheese pie. Guy says ok 15/20. I give him my name. He says ok. So I show up in 20 give my same and ask for my piazza. And he looks at me like I'm a spaceman. He looks around. No pizzas waiting for pickup. You didn't order, you'll have to wait 15/20 minutes. I start explaining - I even pull out my phone to show the call and its length so I'm not playing him. He says yes, looks like you ordered, He shrugs his shoulders and says you'll just have to wait for a new pie. Meanwhile he opens the oven and there are at least half a dozen pies, most of which are cheese. So I say, why not give me one of those. Well, he says, they are for people who ordered pizza. He says this after he acknowledges I ordered. Which started to get me angry. He had acknowledged that I had ordered but simply said "I don't have one for you, you must wait". Well I ordered before THOSE people. Why not give me the pizza you have there? First come first served, right?. You take orders as they come in right? At which point I got steamed and said I want my pizza NOW and I don't want to wait. And those were "the magic words". He was free to calmly babble nonsense at me and I'm supposed to stay calm and polite while is intentionally provoking me with circular reasoning and foolish (il)logic? Now he turns the conversation into one about MY BEHAVIOR. I looked him right in the eye, I said you got what you asked for. You either provoked me with nonsense or you aren't capable of understanding your job. You acknowledged that I had ordered the pizza but then said "I don't have it". No where in there did you say "sorry, I made a mistake and I will fix it". Such as by taking one of the pies just about done since my order obviously preceded them. But you raised your voice! I said, because you WANTED ME TO. You are one of the great army of Americans who really don't give a crap about doing their job right. Never once did you offer to fix the problem other than telling me too bad, I had to eat the consequences of HIS mistake. All this guy could mumble about was that I simply refused to accept his passive aggressive BS And reacted like most people frustrated by such talk would react. He doesn't care about his work. The service is awful, they need real adults running the place -$20 for a simple pizza with thin crust and thus fewer ingredients. And they hire kids and fools to work the store without a sign of even a single adult behind the counter I look forward to the wrecking ball that is coming soon to get rid of this genius and the owners who think it's okay to hire children to run his business. read more

Selection of pizza slices was grim - they looked like they had been there all day :-(. We ordered an Everthing pizza and had a couple of beers. The pizza came in a reasonable period of time, but instead of bringing it to our table the dude just flung it on the counter for us to pick up. Flavor and toppings were excellent, but the center was pretty soggy. The crust was tasty but very dense and crisp. Everyone complained after dinner that it tore up til he roof of our mouths. We were Jonesin' for pizza so we searched for something close to the Hyatt. This was in the top 5 of a local magazine poll and close so I gave it a shot. I would. All it pretty decent and the current 3.5 stars is about right. We had pepperoni and extra cheese. I liked them thin crust but overall it was a little tough and chewy. It is not gourmet and not from a wood burning oven, but it was what we were looking for to go with a cold beer after a long day. The are in the main part of downtown and had a couple of parking spots and then street parking. The have outdoor eating and standing room. They sell whole pizza and by the slice, though by the slice look a little old at 5 pm. The have a drink cooler with water, soda, beer and small bottles of wine. Would I do it again? I might try another spot next time but if someone was ordering pizza for me, I would not turn it down. read more

I should have tried the pizza I stopped in for lunch and made a rookie mistake, ordering a sandwich instead of pizza. Not sure I ever visited this restaurant before but I have visited the one in Gulf Gate, and they make great pizzas. This restaurant was a little confusing when I walked in but I made my way to the order here sign. Glancing quickly at a menu on the wall I spotted their Italian sub and went with that. The sandwich was on tough Italian bread and to me seemed a bit dry. You would think that would not be possible with an Italian sub. This was not a loaded sandwich, the amount of filling was about the least you would expect on an Italian sub. There may have been a bread vs filling ratio issue and I'm not sure it had any mayo at all. It still tasted good so I'm a fan, but below average. While I ate my lunch, I did see they had about a dozen pizzas on display for pizza by the slice choices. The pizza is amazing! Mostly because of the crust, which is super thin, light, and crispy around the edges. I have lived in NYC 3 times and this pizza is comparable if not better because the crust does no overpower the toppings. No one just wants mostly bread. The cheese is high quality and very flavorful, as well as the toppings. Located on Main St. in downtown Sarasota in what appears to be an old gas station, the place is mostly all counter. There are a few high top tables and some outdoor seating. The employees can be quite rude, especially when they are busy. We usually call a pizza order in and pick it up, and sometimes they tell us that they are too busy to make a pizza for us and to go elsewhere. Interesting considering they are a pizza place. But, the food is worth it, if they will make it for you. read more

We ordered pizza here on a recommendation from a tour guide...but were a little disappointed. The ingredients are fresh and taste good, and pizzas are made to order. Our pizza looked good, but one of our toppings were left off when we came to pick up, after calling ahead with in our order. It was taken back over the counter and after adding the missing topping to the top of an already finished pizza...it was never re-fired or reheated in the oven....so that was strike one. Also, I know that there is a place for thin crust pizza, and I have come to realize that is not my favorite type of pizza to have, but I have had thin crust before, and this was not the best. Then we had the meatball appetizer, the portion was good, but the meatballs were dry and lacked taste (a bit over cooked) - strike two. Otherwise, its a neat little spot where you can not only get pizza but sandwiches and desserts and enjoy all those eats seated inside or outside.
