Jacked it up and tested the wheel when I got home. No play. Nice bunch of fellas working on the trailer and running the show there. They explained the deal and walked me through it. If I need some additional modifications (like a spare tire holder) I'll be sure to go back for a follow up. It's hard to find people to work on my trailer that doesn't take a week at least. Took it in Saturday and had it back Monday by noon. I'm taking the Canyonland on a longer trip this summer. I'll report back if the ride was anything but smooth sailing.

Once I got it home, I fabricated a tailgate using some diamond mesh they gave me (Thanks Ruiz) and bought a wheel chock, trailer box, a made pair of trailer guides made from parts from a bedframe and a curtain rod and covered the wiring with split loom. Today I welded on a spare tire mount (Thanks Jimmy). Thankfully, a stray 'supervisor' came by the make sure everything was done correctly. I named the trailer FRED (it's a Navy thing) in memory of the Racoon that was killed by a bunch of helpful bureaucrats. Google Peanut and Fred. We didn't need anything fancy as we are just using it for personal use, so he showed us the affordable options, didn't immediately take us to the most expensive one that was on the lot. Of course my husband wanted the fanciest one on the lot but I talked him out of it (haha). Wade gave us the prices, and we decided to just do it. The process to finance was quick and easy. The next day we came back and picked it up. Fast forward a few hours we get home and I get the bright idea to get in it and the husband can raise it so I slide down just because I can. That's when we notice half of the hydraulic fluid supposed to be in the tank was all over the inside of the box. We clean it up, let it sit for an hour or so and more had leaked out. Keep in mind this is a brand new trailer, this shouldn't be happening. Monday morning I call and speak to Sean who asked me to send pictures so they could start the warranty claim through Five Star (the manufacturer). So I did. Fast forward to the next Saturday we take the trailer to them so it can be fixed thinking they can just fix it and then handle it with Five Star afterwards. Also knowing that we would probably have to leave it there depending on what the problem was. Wade was at the counter and I told him the issue and he explained what it might have been but he would take a look at it. Jacob, one of the service guys, happened to come into the office and immediately said "I submitted the claim, we'll have to wait until they respond". I get it, but at the same time it's brand spanking new, and it's kind of ridiculous that not knowing what the issue is, we have a $7k trailer we can't even use. Wade was quick to say, "no, let's go take a look, it could be something simple and just fix it". Luckily, it appeared to just be a bad o-ring on one of the connections and Jacob fixed it there on the spot and refilled the hydraulic fluid for us. I would totally understand if it was a bad motor or something that would need to be replaced and having to do the warranty claim. Even if I was frustrated with the situation, I would understand. What this long winded review is trying to say is... I understand that there's a procedure to follow, but sometimes it's a quick fix and I appreciate Wade for pushing to at least look at it and if it's an easy fix, to fix it without having to wait for the warranty process. Because I think it would be utterly frustrating if we waited a couple weeks just to find out it was a simple o-ring. This review wouldn't have been so nice. So, thank you Wade! And thank you Jacob for just taking care of it, and fixing it on the spot! Husband is a happy camper with his new toy :)

They removed the fluids without having any in at the shop and had to order some, we waited days and called back and they said they couldn't return the truck because they had already drained the fluids. This truck is one of our main trucks with all of our equipment and would of been nice to know they weren't able to provide the service knowing they ordered fluids on 2/9/2023 and didn't have them yet but still took in our foam rig in. We could of waited till they got the fluids in stock to provide us this service. As a owner, I would of wished we would of had better communication so I wouldn't be losing work and having our employee wait on a Friday when he got off early and sit around and wait till we receive a phone call to pick up our rig if its even done today as they said.

The few repairs I have done have been surprisingly low, actually the service department has come in under their bid price on each repair and maitenence job they have done for me. I just called Monday late afternoon as the front brakes starting grinding. I needed it asap as down time can cost you more than the repairs sometimes. Sharron had me a price and an early Tuesday morning appointment within an hour. The great thing with Vanguard is when you drop it off they get right to it. A couple hours after drop off I got a call from Ed telling me exactly what was needed and that it would be ready for pick up later that same day. This was a $635 bid, another shop bid was $865... my bill when I picked my truck up that afternoon the bill was $513. This is not your typical dealer experience but every time it is how I am treated at Vanguard. The parts dept is the same, Bobby has been my go to guy and he knows everything about these trucks.... he may deny it but everytime I have had a part going, a mystery issue, wanted to be sure of tranny fluid type or needed a part brought in asap, it happens without any issues and I have answers. It is time for a larger truck to be added to the fleet and I am only shopping a used Isuzu because of the truck but also because of the Vanguard dealership's excellent business ethic. Chris F. He was incredibly professional, and dealt with my changing our appointment well. Ultimately, he was able to come out to see the vehicle only an hour after I had the address. The credit card hold charge for the appointment could have been annoying (sometimes my money is all in cash) but luckily it wasn't a problem on that day. The $119 fee was flat, tax included, and he was happy to take cash. 120 is more than the $50 other mechanics were quoting, but I believe it to be a much greater value. The inspection was 120 points, including a comprehensive write-up with photos emailed to me. Convenient, courteous, and thorough. Based on Joe's inspection, I did not purchase my friend's vehicle. He saved me much more hastle and money than I spent on his services, and I am very grateful. 10/10 would recommend, and would use again. Don't even bother calling anybody else.

Purchased an alternator from Cost Less and had it replaced in their parking lot only to find that…read moremy car still didn't work. I had to have it towed to my mechanic where he found the alternator purchased from them was bad. Per my mechanic, that was my first mistake. He added that they had horrible customer service and they weren't going to like me telling them their part was bad. HE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT! They did not want to give me a refund; stating that their policy is no refunds on parts that were already installed. How was I supposed to know it was bad before installing??? I had to argue with them and they stated they had to confirm their alternator was bad. They were supposed to contact me the next morning, but instead they avoided me. They eventually ended up refunding me my money and stated they had it tested and it was good. But my car worked perfectly fine with a new alternator from Tucson Alternator where they tested the old one and confirmed it was bad. They also charged me a 15% restocking fee.... for their BAD alternator!!! Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience, a week without my car, a tow fee of $130 and labor for my mechanic when it could've been fixed that same day in their parking lot if their part was good; they were the ones upset at me. Horrible experience. Highly recommend everywhere else except COST LESS!
