If I could give zero stars, I would. We've had nothing but stress and frustration from the very first day we started using the Frigidaire dishwasher supplied by Trail Appliances. Despite it being brand new, it displayed an E20 error the very first time we ran a cycle. We reported the issue to Trail Appliances immediately, expecting it to be a minor fix or, at the very least, acknowledged properly. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. What followed was a drawn-out, exhausting back-and-forth with Trail. Their response has been slow, unhelpful, and frankly, dismissive. They eventually told us they've ordered parts to fix the machine, but the reality is--the error has worsened. It now happens every 10 minutes, completely disrupting our ability to do something as basic as wash dishes. As a family with a busy home life, this has caused us an incredible amount of stress. The dishwasher is supposed to add convenience, not become a daily source of pain. We've even begun to doubt whether the unit was new to begin with, as it has never worked properly from day one. What's most disappointing is not just the appliance itself, but the complete lack of urgency or empathy from Trail Appliances. When you spend your hard-earned money on something that's supposed to make life easier, and it fails you repeatedly--with no meaningful resolution--it's incredibly disheartening. I don't write reviews often, but I felt it was important to share our experience so others can make a more informed decision. I wouldn't wish this level of inconvenience on anyone. read more

Danny O quickly understood what we wanted, gave us several options, and was able to arrange to have the old refrigerator removed and the new one installed that day. I purchased a water softener system that costed me $6300, and the drinking water gave me itchy throat. They said that there's nothing they can do for me. I only asked for a bypass for the kitchen sink and they want to charge me $200 for that. So, I wanted to return it, was told that I can't. Horrible customer service. Did all of our research and went into purchase the washer that we had decided on. The sales representative basically told my husband an engineer with a masters in thermodynamics that he didn't know what he was talking about. Then proceeded to talk non-stop insisting that we buy a unit that was significantly higher priced than the one we wanted telling us that we didn't understand what was important. Would not let us get a word in edge wise and we finally walked out without purchasing anything. I am actually writing for my 80 year old friend. Tried customer service a few times. I was very clear on a chat that this is a safety issue as water is being left on the floor and she sometimes forgets to clean it up - which leaves a dangerous slipping and falling situation. Spent a long time on chat with customer service - Levi said he would forward it all to Rav -- NO response. As I said, Trail makes the sale then passes any kind of responsibility onto the manufacturer who really don't care because the sale has already been made. Do not ever purchase your appliance here. The technician that was assigned to fix my dryer left the entire machine in pieces and on the floor. The technician left stating that Trail Appliances can't pay him for the job that he is doing. The extended warranty that I purchased was being handled by an entire different company, and I had to pay $150 to register my claim. When I phoned Trail Appliances, they said that they do not deal with extended warranty's, so they have no say in the matter. After a whole day my dryer is still broken and in pieces, and I'm in the dark in regards to anything happening next. read more

Trail Appliances does not put the customer first. Their allegiance is to the appliance manufacturer. Even when given proof that a product is damaging its surroundings, as it is with the KitchenAid range, Trail still parrots the manufacturer's line of "working as designed". They won't even plug one of their units in at the store to see if it is working as the manufacturer suggests. And what do I get? I have to try to get rid of a range (which in all good conscience I cannot sell to another unsuspecting homeowner) and will get a "good deal" on another range if I buy it from Trail. So basically: nothing except to spend more money of another product that I can't trust them to know a thing about. Don't buy KitchenAid. Don't buy from Trail. The problem I am having with my range is that is scorches the backsplash. There is a very specific search criteria to get any information on this problem. Service at Trail knew about it. Sales either did not or chose not to tell a customer. So, when buying any appliance seek out the smaller companies that do their own servicing or talk to a service technician if the store will allow you to. We contacted Kitchenaid for warranty work and were given the runaround for five weeks. Not sure if it's because of how we looked but we definitely felt unwelcomed. Yeah - I have to say something here... my experience wasn't that much better. We had just moved into a new house, but the appliances were crap (small, featureless, etc... they worked, but not up to par for our large family). Full disclosure: I appreciate a deal. I know a deal can be had. So when I walk in, and I mention that *every* appliance needs to be systematically replaced - this is the bait. You, Mr. or Mrs. Salesperson, can have a LOT of my money, but you need to work for it. This lady didn't get it. She traipsed around the store showing me water softeners (I don't have a water softener to replace, even. I have a tiny fridge and a loud dishwasher, and a small washer and dryer pair for starters - let's work on that first, and then I might throw the water softener purchase at you, mkay?). Yak yak yak yak yak. Just give me the darn Blomberg dishwasher and go away, ok? And the whole time she treated the thing like it was designed in some sort of Russian factory next to the Lada's, where you needed custom tools to install it. It uses the same brass fitting that was on the loud Frigidaire. And the same discharge pipe. And runs on the same power. Thanks for the blatant lie to upsell an installation. The only reason why I give them 2 stars is the Blomberg dishwasher is amazing. But now Lowes has my refrigerator money, and I'm happy to give them my washer/dryer pair and deep freeze money and really anyone else on the planet water softener money. Just terrible. I think they make most of their profit from builders; if that's the case, close your public-facing store, fire your incompetent staff and only work with builders. read more

As with many new homes in the city, all our appliances come from Trail. Picking things out was no problem, as they have a huge selection, and something to fit every budget. After sales service, however, leaves something to be desired. The water dispenser on our for fridge stopped working, and after trying several things to get it going again, my dad and husband decided to call for service. They were able to come the same week, which was nice, but I hate not knowing ahead of time what time of day they're going to be showing up. I understand the two hour window, but they could at least give me a heads up the day before instead of calling at 730 in the morning the day of. This makes planning incredibly difficult. I was given a window of 11-1, which was fine, but the tech arrived early. In my pre-baby days, this wouldn't have been a problem, but I was trying really hard to get the little settled and playing happily before the allotted time showed up. I didn't make it. I was also in my bedroom with no shirt on when the knock at the door came. This isn't a huge deal, but it's one of those tiny things that can make a big difference in my day. The tech was friendly enough, but seemed incredulous that my da dead husband had tried to fix the problem themselves. He seemed even more incredulous that I knew what it was they had done to try and fix the issue (never mind that I helped with ten whole process). He felt the need to repeat questions he had asked me to my husband, even when I clarified some small detail I was unsure of with him, like when the water filter had last been replaced. This irks me about repairmen. Boobs do not equal ignorance. He pulled the fridge out, poked around, pushed it back, opened it up, pulled out a drawer, and ended up thawing a dozen part of the reservoir line with my blow dryer. For some reason, this still warranted a $21.00 labour charge. Really? For pulling out the fridge, pushing it back and using my blow dryer? On top of the service call fee? If I had known about the reservoir, I would have tried doing something like that myself. The tech also left dirty paper towels on my clean kitchen counter, and failed to turn the fridge back on, so that was nice. Luckily my husband noticed this little fiasco soon enough that non of our food spoiled. We just had to put up with warm milk. Needless to say, if I don't have to call them back, I won't. read more

Apparently the part arrived a week ago (delayed due to Covid-19 which is understandable) and cannot be installed for another two weeks. I recently bought a new place and was sent to Trail Appliances to choose my appliances. I paid an additional $1000 for LG appliances because I was told the quality of the appliances was much better than Samsung. When I moved in, I noticed a mark on the stove top. I tried to clean it, but it seemed like the mark was underneath the stovetop. I contacted trail appliances via email and they said it was my fault and it was a "cosmetic" problem so they could do nothing to help me. I then went to the South Side Store in Edmonton with my family. The sales associate there tried his hardest to convince us that it was our fault. He told us to clean it. However, I knew it was not our fault and it was a manufacture issue. They told me they could send out a technician to take a look, but it was our fault and the technician would say the same. So, I decided to go ahead with it and have the technician come. The technician came yesterday and as soon as he saw it, he said it was a manufacture issue and the mark was probably there when it was delivered and put it the house. I am very dissatisfied by the service I received from Trail Appliances, and how they did not care about the needs or satisfaction of the customers. I would never shop at Trail Appliances again and highly encourage others to look elsewhere. read more

my husband and I went in to trail to purchase a black stainless steel OTR microwave. A salesperson came over. Michaela. I was standing in front of the exact one we wanted. It was a display . She checked to see if they had one. They did but would take a few days to get to the store. That was fine. after asking before we purchased if she knew what the distance should be between the bottom of the microwave and the top of the stove. She just kept telling me what it should be from the top of the microwave to the floor. I questioned that because what if the microwave was larger than another then the distance over the stove would be less and therefore could be restrictive. She seemed annoyed. Anyway we knew what we were taking about so we went ahead with the purchase. Also when we we're telling her the colour we wanted [ black stainless steele ] she asked what colour our stove was. I said it doesn't matter I want a black stainless steele. My husband picked it up. We were not able to get it installed for a couple weeks So I kept it in the box . So when the installer came I was not home. When I saw it installed i immediately saw it was not black stainless Steele. . I called and spoke with michaela. She was very rude. She said she has been doing this for 30 years and she knows what she's doing. I questioned that to which she told me I insulted her. . I asked why she is questioning me as to what colour I came in to buy. I said she insulted me. she said she would let me talk to a manager. I have yet to hear from one read more

Terrible customer service!!! I am very unimpressed with how this company conducts business. We had a tech come out to look at our fridge. He said he'd order the parts and call us when he found out what they cost. Did he call back? Nope. Finally I called and they would be in soon so we scheduled a service call. To fix the fridge required we unplug it for 24 hours prior so something we kinda have to plan. Anyway, the day before the date they call to say they didn't book the tech enough time so are moving it to another day. All great except I already booked the day off work so I could sit home and wait since they don't tell you the time they're coming until that morning. So the new day arrives and he's supposed to call between 7-7:30 am to give our time frame. When does he call? 8:45. He says he'll be out between 12:30 and 1 and It'll take an hour. So I make other plans for 3pm. 1 comes and goes. Finally at 1:30 he calls and says he's running late and will be out in 30-40 minutes. When does he arrives? An hour and15 minutes later!!! These people have zero respect for your time or commitments. I'd have told him to forget it but we already ordered the parts and with a fridge that hasn't been working properly for over 2 weeks we needed the work done. I'd have expected some discount off labor or something for such poor service. Save yourself the headache and get another service company in. This one is horrible! Just wanted to update as of July 12th, 2018 that I did talk to the customer service manager and they were very apologetic and refunded the service fee we had to help make things right so quite impressed with that gesture. It's always nice to see a company who takes their customers seriously and it does seem they are looking into fixing these issues so hopefully this one happen to anyone again! :) read more

2 problems with Trail of which one Is minor and the other is major. The major problem is the installers they use and or recommend you use in Edmonton. The installer is Nick's appliances from Beumont. What I can figure out is that he contracts work out to various contractors. some are ok and others should be thrown in jail for fraudulently calling themselves contractors. now for my experience.He also takes a 30% finders fee from the contractors. June 13 they sent contractors in to install a range, fridge, dishwasher, range fan and microwave whichI was told by the salesman at Trail required venting. They installed the dishwasher, which was not level, and fridge. The dishwasher they said they could not do because the hole was to big. I had cabinet makers come in and build the hole to microwaves specifications. They said the hole for range fan was also not big enough.Same scenario with range fan. that visit cost 346 50. I had cabinet makers come back as per Nick's contractors at my expense. They installed the microwave in the hole with no modifications and modified range fan hole. I called Nick and they came back installing the range, and hood fan but could not attach the venting to outside and Nick would send someone else out. That visit cost 420. I tried calling Nick for over a week to do the venting and was told the exterior vent did not fit the range fans vents and it had to install a larger exterior vent. another 400 and completed July 8. total cost $1166.50. For 3 separate visits baby 2 separate contractors form Nick. The initial contractors removed derby and watched while I sept and vacuumed their mess. They did not dispose of any containers and claimed it was not their job. Recommendation Trail find another installer and people find your own installer. read more

Let me start by saying that I had until now been a loyal Trail Appliance customer for more than 15years. I also referred a lot of the customer I dealt with in home renovations to Trail, but that is all in the past after this last dealing with Trail. Trail had a promotion on Italian Ranges, but it had to be paid for in full before the end of June 2010, in order to receive the free range hood. Delivery was scheduled for the middle of August 2010. We purchased some new appliances for our old house as well as the new. The day before "Delivery" they phone me to say, "The range is NOT even in Canada yet." I am told it will be here the day after Labor Day in September. By the 15th of September there has been no further communication from trail in regards to delivery (that has also been paid for in full). Upon my initial call to Trail, the first man to answer the phone very rudely says "What?" followed by you're gonna have to call the other store. When I said "Pardon Me?" His reply was "Well you're with *Blank* Kitchen Company, phone the other store." To which I replied "No, I'm a customer phoning in with a question." Because I wanted to bring this to the attention of a manager I choose to phone back. The same person answered the phone and when I asked for a manager he put me on hold then passed me to another sales person. I believe he did this so that I could not talk to a manager and complain about his phone manners. When I discovered that the 2nd person was just a salesperson I asked again for the manager. The Manager apparently does not know the HOW of how things work in his business. He has no idea who contacts people for deliveries, or back orders, and he has no idea of policies or procedures after a persons pays for their product. Also when I told the manager that I've been having troubles contacting LG when my BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX TOP OF THE LINE LG GAS DRYER DOES NOT FIRE to produce heat. His reply, well I get through in less than 2min all the time. (I've sat on the phone waiting for a LG rep for more than 2hrs) That was all the help he would give on the matter. Any manager worth their pay should have at the very least given me the contact number that they have for LG customer support, perhaps the number on the manual or dryer itself is printed incorrectly (those things do happen). read more

Horrible appliances, we bought a brand new home January of 2018, our oven suddenly crack 6months into using the appliances. They fixed it twice since is under warranty. 1.3year into the Frigidaire appliances, the dishwasher suddenly stopped working, i called builder they refer us to trail appliances and of course we were denied that is over 12months. Left hang to dry, we had to buy a new dishwasher from costco which surprisingly came with 2years manufacturer warranty. That same week our microwave stopped working and triggers the circuit breaker. We email builder on warranty, no response till date. We are now looking for money to buy another microwave which brings us to suspect Trail appliances is selling refurbished products, the repair tech said the door is the problem same thing my neighbor mentioned. This is time and money consuming for us, very unfair to buy brand new home and all the appliances are complete fraud. read more

I would not recommend Trail Appliances to anyone. If the brand of appliance you are looking for is available ANYWHERE else, go.....anywhere else. We went with Trail because they were the only retalier in Edmonton that sells Viking appliances. We designed our new kitchen around the demensions of the beverage centre and range. We ordered our dishwasher, range, range hood, microwave, beverage centre & fridge from them in February 2012..........Told the sales person at that time, we would need them for September/October 2012. We were told that would be fine. We paid a huge downpayemnt and left it thinking it was taken care of. As construction of our new home came along we attempted to touch base with Trail and see where things were at and set up delivery. We attempted to call our sales person at the beginning of the summer. No reply. We tried again a couple weeks later and again, no response. (dealing with the owner's son here....) After those attempts failed, we attempted to deal with yet another person who did not get back to us. In early August we went back into the store to try and find out what was going on. We were told by a receptionist that some of our items wouldn't be there.....................Um......after SIX MONTHS they didn't have all the items????? We got the run around from her and were told it should all be there, not to worry, they'd be in touch. We waited for them to call and after a few more weeks and getting ignored from our sales person yet again, We called and it got "passed along" to a manager in another location. We had to go into that store personally to get anything done. Still not much further ahead. The manager there arranged to have our delivery over a week ago it didn't happen.....then it was supposed to be yesterday. We walked into our home last night.....big surprise.....nothing there. Today i've been told there was a delay on the delivery (we were never called) and then someone (whom we've never dealt with to date) calls to tell me 2 pieces are still missing............Just to note, everytime i've spoken with someone it's magically a different item that's missing..... When I spoke to the delivery cooridnator today (because I called her) she said "I called you this morning." Nobody called my home, my cell or my husbands cell. I told her that and her response was "oh, I must have checked your name off by mistake" It is now 4:00 and they have 2 hours to deliver all but 2 of our items. This is the worst customer service i've ever dealt with. We have not gotten any apology for the delay in getting our appliances to us. No apology for the mix up in delivery last week or yesterday. Our "file" has been handled by several different people. Do NOT deal with Trail Appliances. RUN AWAY! read more

Do NOT buy your appliances here. The Service Department at Trail Appliances leaves one wondering what kind of imbeciles they employ there. For the last 3 month we have been trying to get our range fixed. At the start only one burner did not work, now it is 3 burners that don't work. Parts are ordered and then somehow get lost or broken before they can be installed. The unbelievable incompetence of the service techs there can not be put into words.
