May 5th I went to Home depot to purchase some plants but first went to see about a card I got for my birthday. It turned out it was an E-Card. I could not use it because I do not have a cel . The girl at the checkout attempted to try putting it through manally but it did not work. Another person tried to no success. She called for a Manager. The Manager said you need a cel to read the QR code. It was a useless gift. He then said he would fix the problem by giving me a Home Depot card for the same value. I was stunned. TI did not thing that kind of customer dervice was still happening. HE gave it to me ,I said Thank you and went to hand him my E-Card and he said keep it maybe you will figure it out or call the company and see if they could help. Just popped in here to get ice melt in anticipation of the freezing rain. The workers are always helpful and easy to deal with. On this day in particular even the customers were helpful. We were all there buying ice melt. I also like that the place is always clean. You can always go on their website and find the asile of the item you're looking for too! WORST EXPIRIENCE EVER!!! Oct 1 Sunday, we went in Home Depot St Albert and Purchased Washer and Dryer the Delivery date was Oct 4, Wed.. Oct 3, Tuesday. Someone call me and says Washer will gonna be delayed and will deliver on Oct 5, Thursday.. Oct 4, Wednesday. Dryer been delivered and the driver told us that washer will be deliver in the next day.. Oct 5, Thursday. no one call and no one give us an update.. so I try to chat them online after 6pm and they said it's been looking in a warehouse. So I was expect they going to give me an update. Oct 6, Friday. I decided to call Home Depot Customer Service. and guess what? They told me that they been call someone in a warehouse and they are still looking the washer in a warehouse.. like seriously? for like how long it takes to look at it in the warehouse? for just one washer.. I really dont mind if there is a washer or not but everytime I give them a follow up call they give me the same answer which is "still looking in a warehouse" well thats really annoying.. Just to be fair the customer service was trying to give their best to help me out.. they said she was sending emails to the warehouse to priority this issue coz It's early enough and had a lot of time to look the washer in a warehouse.. but after 3pm I decided to chat them again thru online chat and someone in a chat box says not gonna be deliver today because they still looking in a warehouse. Oct 7, saturday morning I try to follow up using thier SMS 84322 and someone response me name Charles. He call carrier vendor and hold me for a minute. Then when he back at me and he told me that will be looking the washer on "Monday" I told him it's Holiday on Monday (thanksgivingday) instead of keep chat them thru SMS I called Home Depot Customer Service again.. same process call carrier vendor and same answer Carrier Vendor was not open on weekends they said they get back to them on monday for update.. like I was totally pissed off Monday was holiday i said and he simply told me probably on tuesday. So, I decided to cancel all of it and returned the dryer that they delivered on Oct 4, Wednesday. The agent arranged schedule for pick up the returned dryer that has been deliver last Oct 4, schedule to pick-up for returned on Oct 10, Tuesday. and As he told to go on the branch to were I purchase those washer/dryer so I can personally cancel the washer that has not been delivered and get my refund for it. People in a branch in Home Depot in St albert has not part of my complain.. they really helpful they ask me what happen and apologize and refund me right away. Oct 10, Tuesday someone called me from carriers and guess what? She told me that the dryer will not deliver today and its going to deliver on Oct 12, Thursday.. HOME DEPOT CARRIERS /WAREHOUSE idk whos incharge on that but they keep me annoyed really hard.. They dont have COMMUNICATION from store branch to home depot customer service and the carriers/warehouse.. they are not COMMUNICATING EACH OTHER.. that will give me a hard time and repeat my concern to each person everytime I speak to them. WORST EVER!!! so I say to the lady from carrier that Ive been cancel my order and request a returned already since Saturday Oct 7, and she don't even know she said she didnt see any emails or note. I've spent way more money here than I'd like to admit on my fixer upper bungalow. Although, I have a HD closer to my home, this is the largest one in my general vicinity so I frequently have to come here when my HD is out of something I want. The checkout lines are always quick and the staff are for the most part pretty freaking knowledgeable though you may have to hunt awhile for one. A really cool thing about HD, is they offer free workshops to learn tricks of the trade and skills so be sure to check out their information board or their website for upcoming workshops and don't forget the FREE kiddo ones where they get to make and take something home! read more

Ordered online for curb side pickup. Received email that order was ready. Drove there to get it. Parked in designated spot. Called number and was supposed to enter extension but you can't enter it, it won't accept it. Call was put on hold for 20 min and then started ringing and ringing and ringing for another 10 min before we decided this was a waste of time. Saw an employee outside. Asked him if curbside pickup was working. He said "I do t know". Asked if he could call someone. He said "no he can't, radio is not working". What is wrong with this shitty company. They have had MONTHS to get things working properly or even slightly and it's a FAIL. Drove away, cancelling my online order. Do NOT order online. This is the place I go when I buy flowers for the garden. I like the assortment they carry and the prices are good as well. The flowers are outside occupying the south end of the parking lot so last time I grabbed a cart, flowers and soil, and pay at the 2 cash registers outside. Last time, we went in to find light bulbs for the basement. They are a type that are hard to find and a nearby store carried them but sold them as singles for around $10. The selection of light bulbs here was much bigger and they carried some that looked like what we needed. We picked up a 3 pack for about the same price for 1 at the other store. Since we were in the store we also picked up a new shower head. There were at least 10 to choose from with varying prices and styles. The only thing we couldn't find was a decent squeegee. The store is large and it can be difficult to find what you're looking for. But there are associates around that usually know what aisle or area to direct you to. read more

I came here recently to get a few things for the house. It's a very very very contrasty dynamic of employees. One time I needed nails. I was greeted by somebody who was very knowledgable and helpful. He was nice enough just to give me a few nails because I didn't need as many as they sell in packages. Then he showed me where to get some sticky nails for my concrete office walls. Phenomenal idea. During the exact same trip to this location, I asked for a bathtub plug. The employee who I asked this time was an older disgruntled gentleman and was clearly drinking. He wobbled and smelled of alcohol while he talked. He showed me a plug for a kitchen sink. I asked him if he is sure that this would work and then pointed out a different one thinking that it would be the better option. He scoffed at me, turned to one of his coworkers and said "it's going to be a very long day isn't it." Extremely concerning that someone like this is working here, or anywhere at all. What a country we live in! The best part is that I was correct, and the plug I asked about was the right one. It's in my bathtub now. He had glasses and a moustache. White guy. Totally shitfaced. I'll opt for a Pillibeeno who gives a fuck about their job next time. And by the way, why has nobody from Home Depot tried to contact me? read more

Wow I love the staff at this location...I may have only spoken to two but they were two excellent ones!! Overall it is the usual Hone Depot set up with a little extra atmosphere from what I could tell. The parking lot seemed like a better set up somehow but maybe I just lucked into the same area I needed with the cart accessible too. The Home Depot on the west end is barely making the cut. I've more bad than good experiences there and if it weren't for two select employees, I think we'd hit rock bottom. I've been looking to build a deck for months now and after finally realizing that I could save close to $10,000 if we did it ourselves, building a simple 12'x12' square deck with a composite decking ourselves seemed like a no brainer. Before drawing everything out, I gave Home Depot contracting a shot to see if they charged less than these seasoned vets who build decks on a regular basis. Surely a big chain can offer competitive prices. I was told I'd get a phone call in about two weeks time to get a consultation. Over a month flew by without any contact and I felt the same way Han Solo did: "I've got a bad feeling about this..." After getting diagrams and permits done, I went on my own to Home Depot to get a quote of how much it would cost and a breakdown of the supplies. After wandering through aisles of no staff in sight on a weeknight, I finally come across somebody that worked in lumber that had a construction vest. After telling him of my intention to build a deck and wanting to purchase an advertised price on their flyers for a packaged deck, they directed me to draw out what I needed using the Home Depot project forms while he answered the phones. After realizing that the advertised quote does not apply to my deck based on the small print I tried to indicate to the help that I no longer need him to look into this but was quickly physically brushed off as he was on the phone. I simply walked out. I returned on a weekend morning to see if someone who actually worked as a service rep could help us and by the heavens I got a pretty good consultation by a rep, Jeremy. He took down all the info I had and drawings and used software on their computer to price out all the supplies and gave advice on when to rent a van to pick it up. On a seperate afternoon, I went in to pick up everything that was on the list. This took me about 3 hours to do because there simply was no help. No one knew who was around to come with me to help and I was left being thrown around from kart pushing kids to cashiers to finally trainees who did their best to try to locate supplies. Worst of all, there were some products that were out of stock which took at least half an hour for the staff to come to this conclusion that it could not be found. I picked up a different company's product instead hoping it could be a good substitute. I found out much later that I actually needed the official fastener for my deck and had to rush to Windemere to pick it up since this location had no idea when they would get it next. When it was finally time to run the list of products through the system to indicate I'm picking them up since I already paid with them through Jeremy, I mentioned that I won't be picking up one piece of lumber because I'll be coming back to get it cut after I return the van. Based on the dimension of this lumber, the representative should have told me that their saw could not cut it. Since he failed to mention it, I had to haphazardly try to fit a 12' post into the SUV instead of using a van I already returned. I am flabbergasted as to why he could not make that connection. TL;DR - This location is heavily understaffed, not stocked well and has more incompetent staff than friendly ones. Pro tip: they only have one van for rental so it's a first come first basis system! read more

The Home Depot is basically a warehouse where everything is organized on heavy duty shelves. Everything is neatly arranged and the staff know exactly where everything is. The concrete floors offer a no-thrills shopping experience, and they carry everything you can think of for your home renovation needs from gardening equipment to lighting fixtures to hard wood flooring materials. The ceiling is extremely high as they pretty much lay their entire inventory on the store floor, so if they don't have it there, they most likely do not have it in stock. I found the staff to be very knowledge on different flooring equipment. They also offer a lot of helpful tips for working on your home renovation, and they also offer services such as board cutting for your convenience. read more

We ordered new countertops for our kitchen on May 5/22 and didn't recieve them till Sept 13/22. Over 4 months it took for them to finally be delivered. That to me is totally unacceptable to say the least. This is how they dropped the ball, big time. When we sat down to do the measurements we were unlucky to have them put a newby associate to do this order for thier first time (that was thier first mistake). Next was the manager of the department didn't check his work (second mistake). The newby didn't press submit on the order (third mistake that put the order in 11 weeks later after we inquired by phone to when we will recieve them). The company that makes them emailed Home depot for clarification on the measurements ( third mistake by Home Depot and the maufacturer for not following up on that email). We go in late August to talk to the manager of the store and we ended up with the same manager for that department. After going threw the order the department manager finally admitted to dropping the ball on this one. Now they tell us it willbe 3 more weeks ontop of the 16 weeks we have already waited. The countertops finally came on the 13th of September and were wrong. We stated that all the backs of all the countertops be cut off and that was a extra cost believe it or not. One piece still had the back on and the other was finished on the back and the front of it (this was thier fourth mistake). So now we were stuck with them. We are renovating to sell and we were a week away from pictures for listing 2 days after pics. Now I had to cut the back off one so it would fit and we were stuck with the other one that I couldn't cut was installed. What really bugs me is how they handled the order and being stuck with something I didn't want but had to use it any and on the order it was stated to remove all backs off the countertops. I noticed this when they delivered them and the delivery man pointed out that there was no squiggly line through it and thats why it wasn't cut off. So stupid squiggly lines over does printed wording on the front page of the order. I wil never order anything from Home Depot again ever. Word of advice DO NOT LET A NEWBY ORDER YOUR SPECIAL ITEMS. This was a lesson for me and I have taken pictures to take to Home Depot for some kind of refund what they did and what they put us through. I purchased a new fridge from Home Depot Windimere Edmonton. I purchased the fridge and was asked by an associate when I wanted it delivered. I had several dates to select from, I selected January 9th, 2017, 2 weeks out so that I would provide Home Depot with enough time to get the fridge and schedule delivery for the 9th. I was told I would receive a call the day before to tell me whether or not the fridge would be delivered morning or afternoon on the 9th. I then proceed to sell my current fridge, and those purchasers agreed to pick up the fridge on January 8 so I would only be without a fridge for less then 24 hours. The fridge was not delivered Monday January 9 and as of today January 11 I remain without a fridge. Home Depot points the finger at Samsung, Samsung points the finger at Home Depot. I called the customer service 1 800 number on Monday January 9 to inquire as to what was going on. I was forwarded to 3 different people and between being put on hold and speaking with 3 different people I was on the phone for over 2 1/2 hours. In the end, the numbers I was provided by Home Depot, was for customer service for Samsung. No one could really assist me, because my appliance had not yet been received! Hence I was sent from one person to another. Now the fridge is in Edmonton, but the delivery company can't deliver it today because all the trucks are out and I will receive a call the day before delivery when ever that maybe. I have been told delivery is late because of the weather, yes it is winter in Canada but between here and Vancouver (Samsung shipping centre for western Canada) no roads have been closed. I have been told it is the problem with the delivery company because workers have to be trained and insured to deliver appliances, hence Home Depot can't just get "anyone" to deliver the fridge. In the meantime my food sits on my kitchen counter waiting for my fridge.....today like yesterday I will toss the rotted items in the garbage. Customer satisfaction is the last on the list for Home Depot. I have been told the Samsung will send me a cheque for $100.00 after my fridge is delivered, Home Depot has told me they will match it plus give me my $50.00 delivery fee back. What no one has been willing to do is to prioritize delivery, hire another delivery company to get the fridge to my residence. Everything follows process, no process can be changed. Fingers are pointed but managers have no authority to change processes, use common sense or have a delivery completedin a timely fashion. Everything is processed and no process shall be changed. If you buy from Home Depot, understand delivery will be late, no adjustments will be made to processes to get the customer the product purchased in a timely fashion, there are no back up processes to expedit delivery and the only authority is with head office which is the untouchable group, no phone or email is available anywhere for the group. Online searches find nothing except who is who for Home Depot Canada. Mr. Jeff Kinnaird is the CEO for Home Depot Canada but to send him an email via LinkedIn costs $700.00. I had a good experience at this location. The place is well organized and the staff are friendly and helpful. I went there looking to get some paint for a room in my house. The lady working there was very helpful. They have a computer screen program there where you can select some of the Behr paint colors and it will display a image of what it would look like in a painted room. I found that very helpful in selecting the paint you wanted. Also, the lady there was able to show us the difference between the different paint brands (pros and cons). read more

Once again I received great service from the staff at this Home Depot. Previously I was helped by a knowledgeable and friendly associate in the paint department. My most recent visit was to plumbing. The associate was very friendly and helpful, giving me great advice on how to fix a faucet that was dripping. The closest I've found to one of the Home Depot ads. A salesperson stowed me the parts I needed to buy based on the samples I brought with me, and upon my request, actually put together the various components to assemble a ready to use item for me. And didn't grumble when I asked for a change to it due to my oversight (though I showed the sample to him) in mentioning that I wanted the assembly on one side only. And upon my request with the extra parts (multiple per package) made a spare. Totally awesome. They are hard to track down at most stores including previously this one, but I got lucky. I would have awarded this location three stars based on time generally wasted looking for help, but this guy saved me so much time, effort and grief and I got my humidifier at home up and running effortlessly and with no delays, that I have to give the two additional stars just for him. read more

This is the closest location to me on the west end. I have been here multiple times and they always seem to have the stock that I need. This particular time we went to get a door seal and some tub calking. The calking was easy to find. The door seal though, we walked through the door area and found something kind of what we needed, but it wasn't quite right and seemed to be missing a bit of it. After about 10 minutes, a sales associate had walked passed, asking if we required assistance. I had explained the piece we needed and they were able to point us in the right direction of where to find it. We headed to the location and it was right where he said they would be. The products here are also well priced and comparable to different stores with similar products. The lady at the till was quick, friendly and left us with a smile, which is always great. The only thing I don't like, is the parking lot. I find it very jumbled and busy/cluttered. Otherwise a great store! read more

I was looking for a set of appliances, i went to the Brick, Leons etc.. everywhere i went they wanted me to sit down and make it a difficult process.. I just wanted the best price a person not motivated by commission.. i went to Home Depot and fellow there sold me a set of appliances in 10 minutes did price checks found the set i liked at another place lower and 10 % less than their price done.. no smoke and mirrors no extra this and extra that.. i would recommend them to anyone. read more
