DO NOT SHOP AT LEON's! Went into the south store off 50th street to look at gray chairs. Identified one called Elio. My Mom was there and sat in the chair and all seemed well with that one. I must admit I didn't examine it throughly. Chairs were delivered on May 9. OMG! When we pulled out the chairs from the wrapper, there were no padding in the arms and backs, you could feel all the wood! The base/ dust cover seems to have been stapled on by a 5 year old and all the white padding was oozing out at the base. The fabric wasn't wrapped tightly and some parts barely had material so it couldn't be stapled properly. I have never been more disappointed. Customer service was terrible. I asked to talk with a manager and was at first told no but I insisted. I was then placed on hold and the lady came back to say the manager was busy. This seems to be the usual tactic. It's truly been a nightmare! I asked for it to be exchanged for something else and was told no exchange can be done. Found out the chair legs are made of plastic. There were no holes to screw the legs into. They sent their technician to come help with the chair legs but he couldn't because the chair was so badly made he had to leave without screwing in the legs. LEONS DOES NOT CARE ABOUT QUALITY! The sales rep did not tell me there's no refund or exchange, only that if you place a special order, you cannot return it. This was not a special order item!!! They say they will be sending out a replacement to these ones but I don't trust them. I don't think the replacements will be any better. A friend of mine bought all her appliances there with extended warranty. Her washing machine stopped working and she has been without a washing machine for 4 weeks and they are telling her it will be another two weeks before her washing machine is fixed. She has kids and has spent hundreds of dollars at the laundromat and is going to have to spend more in the next two weeks. So instead of replacing the washing machine or even giving her a loaner they have left her with no washing machine for 6 weeks This is what Leon's warranty is, absolute crap. read more

We purchased a hide a bed couch from Leons in June. Two Days after we started using it the Armrest cracked. (Very weak material across the top of arm rest.) We submitted a warranty claim and they are to replace to armrest. That was June this year. Every time I have called since the replacement was approved I have been told the do not have one and are waiting for the manufacture to send it. Then it was "we should have it as soon as they fill the shipping container." It is now Mid September and I am still waiting for an Armrest. When I asked if they could take it from a couch in stock I was told the could not do that. Absolute poorest service. A 3500$ power couch quits working within less than 20 uses. Although it's under warranty the thing they don't tell you is upwards of 3 to 4 months before they ship the part from China on a ship...and thats if the part even fixes the issue. Leons will not anything more....furthermore won't even put the warranty on hold in the mean time for a power couch that has no power on its sub par parts from China. Note: We have purchased in the past and I had reviewed this location at the time, I would have given it a 4/5. This purchase was the complete opposite experience - to the point where I will not purchase online again. My review reflects both the south and north locations as they were both involved. I made an online purchase during their Black Friday Sale. I picked Leon's specifically because they had pick up available for a few days later at their south location. Price was great. Receipt states purchase had been made and that pick up requested from the south side location. I received a call a few days later - the person confirming that I wanted to pick up from North. Stated that no, I wanted south and that's what my receipt shows. Staff said I could pick it up from the north location on the original date or from the south side location a week later. I reminded them that I had picked the south location and Leon's for this purchase because of it's quick availability. I also asked how I can cancel this order if needed as it didn't seem like it was going to work out. The staff said "I don't know, hold on" When they came back, they stated I could pick up Friday from the south location but call first to make sure it was there. I again asked how I could cancel my order if my item was not there. They did not answer, but stated to call on the pick up day to check before we come. I said okay and told them it would be my husband who shares the same address as myself but is not on the receipt. Staff said it would not be a problem. Fast forward to pick up day - item not available but can be picked up at north location. My husband gives in and drives to get it. North staff won't give it to him as his name is not on the receipt; he told her that I had already gone through this with customer service. They DID however let him cancel my order WITHOUT calling me first to check. This blows my mind... you won't let him pick it up but he can cancel an order that's not in his name? The staff at north were extremely cooperative though overall and make a rectified the whole thing; they were very apologetic. South side got a one, north side gets an extra star for their in person customer service. I do not recommend buying online - their system for pick up is ineffective and lacks a thorough form of communication. read more

Been a month waiting now for 2 loveseats, they have informed me it could be another 2-3 weeks wait, as there was a delay with their shipper. They were not aware that they were to deliver them, when they do come in. The 2 loveseats cost more than the loveseat couch side chair deal. But we do not have room for a regular sized couch in our sitting room. We have bought Leons in the past but will not do an online order again since they obviously do not have in stock. I bought furniture from Leon's about a week ago. When the delivery arrived, it turned out that I had misunderstood that I would have to arrange for helpers to unload the truck. I am sure my salesman - Mike - told me about this, but I didn't remember. I spoke with Liz, yesterday, and she could not have been nicer! She spent a large part of her day finding a solution so I could get my things. She called in the afternoon to say a truck and helpers would be here today. I don't believe I could have found a better solution. With Mike helping me find the perfect furniture, and Liz helping me get it delivered.....I couldn't be more pleased. The shopping experience was pleasant. The salesperson was helpful without being pushy. I ended up buying two sofas. I was told that the sofas I had purchased would be delivered to the rooms of my choosing. One sofa was taken upstairs with no issue. The fellows delivering the furniture had refused to take the other sofa to the basement saying that they would damage my door bell and thermostat if they attempted to do so. I ended having to move itinto the basement myself with the help of my 9 yr old girl. It was tough but we managed to get it done without even touching the bell and thermostat. Although they were pleasant these guys were just plain lazy. There was no reason they just couldn't do the job they were paid to do. Very disappointed. I would have never bought from Leon's if I knew I would have had to do someone else's job after I came home from mine. read more

Worst customer service, I bought love seat 2 yrs ago and salerperson gave me zucor warranty with it.. 90$ +tax and told me your loveseat is fully covered.. last week I got dry erase marker stains on it and this is reply what I got from Leons "Unfortunately, Zucora will not be able to service this claim as Dry Erase Marker is not listed in the above categories as its use is for any dry erase board and cannot be cleaned on furniture , hence that is the reason it is not covered by Zucora nor listed in the " 5 Year accidental stain coverage" category. " I believe ballpen , wax and crayons use is for paper or color book and might not be on furniture.. what I surely know is that your warranty is of no use it rip off read more

They told me an hour before delivery that they would like me to ask my super to take an elevator out of service. An hour before delivery. I was just lucky it was not already in use. They then left me with a sofa with parts to install, without any warning, and without the tools to do the work. It took ages to get through to customer service, even just to find a number to dial in the first place. They basically blamed me for the problem but did say they would send someone around tomorrow to install the legs. They couldn't tell me when. I was going to give them one star but, to be fair, their website is great and their online delivery tracking service is amazing and it is a pretty damn nice sofa. I wasn't happy with a number of delays/terrible communication with shipping but I will stick to the main point. I ordered a $1200 beverage fridge for a wetbar being made in the basement. It sat in the box for a few days in the garage while the wetbar was being finished. When it was time to put it in it's CUSTOM MADE space it would not fit as the entire bottom was warped as Leons/Danby had obviously dropped it from a high point/crushed it. Leon's gave me the run around for a while but is sticking with the "Too bad, it had been 72 hours since you received it, we won't do anything". Disgusting. We spent a long time looking for a sofa that was comfortable, reasonable and the right colour. We finally found a great option at Leon's but the blue colour we wanted was out of stock and we decided to wait for one to be ordered. 7 MONTHS later, it finally arrived! We were so excited! The delivery was on time, but when we opened it, the sofa was bright yellow!!! We insisted that the drivers put it back on the truck and we went to the store to try and resolve it. The sales person suggested only one option that we didn't love, so reluctantly, we asked for a refund. These things are upsetting, but they happen, and we were being as understanding as we could be. What happened next made us never want to set foot in a Leon's again. The finance person chatted with her colleague about personal stuff for more than 10 minutes while we waited, then started the forms. She said nothing to us while we signed for our refund. Then the sales person came back over and VERY flippantly and insincerely said, "Sorry about that...have a good day". Huh? Worst customer service we've had in a very long time. It's now almost Christmas. I'm told the technician is on Holidays and they'll assign another. They tell me the tech has COVID and they're waiting for the report which was not true as I spoke with the tech on day 5 after he came and he told me he submitted the report so on further checking after I called them out on it they found the report and now tell me I have to wait for parts which could have been ordered a week ago. I'm 6 weeks in to trying to get my sofa fixed and still have no clue when that will be. I've had bad service before but usually that's just one person and I've never felt a need to post a bad review due to that but here it's just an ongoing thing, hence I am posting my experience and that is that Leon's is absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with and I will never in my life shop there again. read more

At Leon's, the customer is never right. I've come to understand. After calling several times to reach service and repair, i was hung up on by an automatic system after ringing for fifteen minutes. When I tried to tell this to the staff, they said we have 5 staff.Our calls are always answered, and our phone system is working great. To which I replied so at Leon's.The customer is not always right or, in this case, never right. My landlord had purchased a brand new washer and dryer for me. After eight days of trying everything, even rebalancing and reinstalling the machine would not retain the water. It was an l g L2, and it's very poorly made. This manager that I was speaking to was not a junior staff member. She said that they were not under any obligation to replace the machine which they were willing to do. Now, 30 days satisfaction is a standard policy on purchases that are made anywhere in Canada. But this woman had no ounce of apologetic sympathetic or compassionate bone in her body. She denied that I called several times and didn't get my call answered, She denied that there is a way to pull up an account by verifying it with the email address of the purchaser, Which A junior staff did ten days prior. All this boils down to poor customer service by a senior staff member who admitted to me on the phone that she trains people. Not one of my calls to them were answered. They apparently have adopted the same attitude as their manager that the customer is never right! It was my error that their phone system is not working right, and their staff did not answer the phone. But instead of giving a customer understanding and empathy, I was told I wasn't the purchaser, and they didn't have to deal w me if they choose. They called me a liar in not so many words. 15 years ago, I purchased my own appliances from them and had a wonderful experience, right down to the 5 year warranty I purchased that they honored to the letter. But nowadays, I wouldn't buy a pack of gum from them. read more

Nice people but really bad post-purchase service The people I've talked to at Leon's are such nice people but the service I've received since purchasing a sofa and love seat in South Edmonton are the living pits. I wish I'd read reviews here before I'd put down good money The sofa arrived just fine. The guys who delivered the love seat later didn't unpack it, even though we're in our mid 80s, and just left it lying on its back wrapped in plastic and cardboard. When we unpacked it there were two sizable dents in the back cushions where evidently something heavy had bent the foam. I contacted customer service a day later, and was told to expect a technician within 5 to 10 days to repair it. Ha! When I called back after not having heard anything for a couple weeks, I was told the tech was about to go on holidays and wouldn't be back until the second week in July. Meanwhile,the people who were supposed to apply the protective guards after delivery, for which we paid, won't do so until this is resolved. So you know what Leon's: I've had better post purchase service from Goodwill and Salvation Army than I have had from you. Prospective customers: be warned. I went into the store on Saturday October 10th to purchase kitchen appliances, (refrigerator, wall microwave-oven combo, gas cooktop, and range hood), there was only a couple of cars in the parking lot. When I approached the appliance section, there was another customer there, and the salesperson did not acknowledge us. We looked around for 15 minutes and then again looked for the salesperson, who was nowhere to be found. After a few minutes he came up to us, and I started to say what we were looking for. My husband and I just bought a dresser/side tables. $2500 for everything and the worst possible quality I have ever seen in my life. I'm too afraid to even touch the dresser or side tables because that's how easily it chips/dents/scrapes. It's so fragile. Needless to say I did not want this product but had already discarded of the boxes so they couldn't return. They offered 1. 15% off or 2. Store credit towards something else. We looked online and couldn't see anything else we wanted so we went with the 15% off but I expressed my continued displeasure. By the time I sent my email with my finale decision of the 3rd option I got a reply saying they went ahead with the 15% off since they hadn't heard back and they cannot reverse it. You get what you pay for here. So even though the prices for some things may seem like a good deal, the quality may not be so. Years ago purchased a nice looking dining room table. Well when it arrived it was chipped all over the sides. I did open it right away after it was delivered. I demanded a new table. They said they could but would be a few weeks, as this was the last one on stock (so did they give me a floor model??). Anyways, when the other eventually came, it had a few nicks as well, but not as bad as the first one. Needless to say, after that I don't think I would buy any furniture from them again. So 24 days ago we purchased a new dinette set. We were told our furniture would be delivered with in 2 weeks. We are now on day 24 and they won't even take my calls. I have tried Calling the salesma, asked for a manager. I have bin told i will receive a call back that day. They just give me the run around and the last time I had spoke to them they will no longer even give me and estimated date for my furniture. We were able to order new flooring from the states that took less than 10 days. Bought a range and it was delivered damaged; the bottom frame had been pushed up & bent to the point the warming drawer won't open/close properly & we're concerned that the bottom heating element could have been damaged. We were told we can return it for a restock fee of 25%, wait 8 weeks for another one, or purchase one in stock. We purchased this particular range as it was perfect and our current one no longer worked, so we wanted at least a similar one, but when we returned to the store the only ones they had in stock were: a) a lot more money b) wrong size c) wrong type. We were told a manager would call, no word from anyone. Now we have a damaged range in our kitchen & a broken one sitting in our driveway as Leon's had also told us someone would remove it. My sectional sofa ripped in seams .....the fabric is cheap. I paid 1800 for the sofa after saving for months for this purchase. I'am a senior citizen with limited income. I was not told it was final sale until l contacted a supervisor who said "sorry no refunds it's policy" . This store does not seem to care about keeping customers or customer satisfaction.
