I love this place! The people are fantastic and the products are unique and hard to find in "regular" grocery store.

Oh TJ's, never disappoints. Sure some Seasonal favorites sprout wings and literally fly off the shelves no sooner then they are placed there. So after years of requesting to get a TJ's in Spokane it is with great anticipation we watch and wait for the second one to spring up. I go to Trader Joe's for specific items usually. Some times I am just drawn there, the atmosphere makes me happy. And the best times are when one of my adult daughters requests/suggests we go. Fresh, healthy foods, scrumptious Seasonal special treats, delicious breads, colorful fresh cut bouquets and even fresh growing herbs. The most personable, product educated associates. That is what Trader Joe's is to me. read more

Walked up to the doors while talking with my son, if there was a sign I must have missed it. First words out to the employee's mouth who was at the door, "I don't know where you think you're going - but the line ends here and starts down there." Most un believability rude human. I was mad, embarrassed and humiliated. Never ever would I shop there. Rude. Disparaging. Inappropriate. There are lots of shopping choices out there. This store has not earned my patronage and lost my loyalty. Shame on management for allowing this. read more

First of all, it's a Trader Joe's. If you've ever been to any other Trader Joe's, it's almost exactly like this place. They've got a good business model, and it seems to work here too. The produce selection is nice and fresh, with decent prices. Best of all, nothing is GMO and most of it is organic. And the taste just works super well with some nice fresh cooking. Aside from produce, you'll find a nice mix of other items in there. Good quality meat, frozen food, snacks, etc. Again, you'll find that a lot of the items for sale there aren't overly processed, and don't contain a lot of terrible ingredients. You still need to be careful about what you buy, but you'll be able to find a lot more options than you'll see at most of the big grocery stores. And what would a review of mine be without talking about beer? For a grocery store, they actually have a pretty decent selection of beer. None of the macro crap. They have several of their own brands that they've contracted out, as well as a lot of local craft options. Not exactly a beer destination, but worth checking out the beer while you're there for the food. Crowds are definitely an issue. If you're crown-avoidant, only shop here at off times. It's a relief to finally have a Trader Joe's in town. I love their selection of frozen food items, their dry goods and dairy products. They have a fairly limited amount of fresh produce but that's what a farmers market is for anyway, right? This store does get crowded but I've always preferred a smaller grocery store to the larger ones anyway, so I don't mind. Plus, they have their classic selection of beers and wines at unbeatable prices. read more

Pros: I really like the prices at Trader Joes. Very affordable with the Trader Joe's brand products. Store is fairly small so you can shop very quickly. Lots of vegan options and the TJ vegan cheese it tasty. Cons: almost all the produce is pre packaged which means you don't get to choose and creates tons of unnecessary plastic waste. I can't get past the waste issue. read more

This is my favorite place to shop for groceries! The food is high quality, and prices are reasonable. One of my favorite things to pickup for dinner is the ready made Chicken Parmigiana, and Traditional Meatloaf . Last but not least, the employees are always helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. read more

I have only been to Trader Joe's one other time and it was in California. This one is a nicely laid out store but lacks in size. I did find a few things I wanted to try out but I don't see why someone would go there in opposition to a regular grocery store. So its "organic" or whatever, I 'm just not a fan of the prices. read more

Having recently moved back from California, it was such a relief to see TJ's in Spokane. I had gotten spoiled with the farmers markets and healthy stores and I was panicking about where to shop once we moved. Well lo and behold :) No need to panic!! Trader Joes is a great grocery store and its where I do the bulk of my grocery shopping. Their fresh produce is always fresh and if its labeled TJ's its guaranteed to be GMO free! Friendly employees and relaxing, albeit busy atmosphere! My favorite things to get are: the vegetable root chips $2.99 a bag, the sunflower seeds .99 and any of the chocolates, yum! Did I mention they also have a selection of fresh cut flowers - way cheaper than what you would pay at Safeway or any of those other places! Love, love me some TJ's :) read more

Love Trader Joe's. If you go to other grocery stores you will then understand why this store is so awesome. The selection and price for organic and or Kosher food is tops in Spokane. The people are super friendly and helpful and the kids love looking for Sassy to get a treat which keeps them focused from getting into trouble :] Their return policy is exceptional as well as the Trader Joe's brands. If I could add a few suggestions to get 5 stars it would be this: Add kosher creamer options for the coffee samples. Also the ordering could be managed a little better. I get that people buy things out sometimes but that is not an excuse if it happens all the time because the inventory levels could be raise a bit to compensate. There are many times I go there and the things I need are out. I almost plan on it every time which makes me buy more when I see it is in. That is just inventory management. It is a waste to have customers let down consistently when you have everything else going for you. Also once in a while we have to return produce that isn't good. Other than that I think it is easily the best grocery store overall in town with Rosauers in the Valley being number 2. read more

Fantastic service. I am new to this Trader Joe's and a new employee took my list and walked me to find each one. He also taught me how to mark things off on my phone. (Don't judge) I made sure I tell the manager about how nice he was. I was going to give it 4 stars because they didn't have one item, but the guy who was at the register was so nice and friendly. Worked here for 3 years. Love how they treat their employees. The product is good. People complain about it being overpriced. But it is very affordable if you buy right. All the checkout lines are open, there is literally no wait time, where as safeway you have to wait 10 min to check out. I would rather pay a few dollars more for people who care. People rage in the parking lot, only downside. XD read more

Spokane has almost arrived! A Trader Joe's has been long overdue for this area. I was there a couple of weeks ago and it was PACKED with people! I normally do not like huge crowds at stores and malls but that day I did not mind it. It was like the same old Trader Joe's stores you find in Seattle or Portland. Well stocked shelves of culinary delights and many new items I noticed. I must laugh at the naysayers who said that Trader Joe's would not make it here. Well, if you read my review of the Trader Joe's in St. Louis, you find I have a love/hate relationship with them. This one lowers the bar a bit more. I don't know if it's in a less than desirable part of town, or if Spokane in general is a bit more...grungy than St. Louis, but this place took my love/hate relationship and dropped it a step to a tolerate/hate relationship. I will try to avoid this location if I ever move to this area, but I don't see myself ever living in Washington. read more

Back to Trader Joe's for weekend shopping. What a delight to access fresh vegetables and fruits in the dead of winter. The staff are friendly and outgoing. The store always surprises with new items. I LOVE Trader Joe's. They always have some of the freshest veggies around at decent prices and a good selection. When kiwi was no longer around in 3 other grocery stores, they had it! They have a ton of healthy options and make it where you arent tempted to throw all the sugary stuff you pass in standard grocery stores in your cart. I do wish they had a little more variety of items like I have to get my pet stuff elsewhere and wish they had a larger variety of drinks. But LOVE their frozen food section. I have never been to others so all I know us of this one. If you have never been, go during the week when its not crazy busy and packed full of people. Its the kind of store that has you wandering around looking at all the tasty interesting foods. Fresh flowers in the front next to their unique range of prepackaged foods. The frozen section is huge with everything from Asian foods to frozen deserts. Friendly staff! Can be very crowded and hard to shop when its busy. read more

New store for Spokane, & Inland Empire. Went midday on day before Thanksgiving. Wasn't as crowded as feared. Produce looked great (some prepared), but it's the cookies & candy types of treats that attract me. Good selection, reasonable prices, a sort of "Tiffany's" type grocery. Worth a trip, even if it's not where you"ll do everyday groceries. read more

Love this store! So many amazing choices for easy, healthy, inexpensive meals. So glad there is one on the South Hill!

Fantastic store and a go-to place for lunches. As you enter, you'll see people staring raptly at the salads, entranced by the variety and not sure which to choose. Best bet: try them all, especially the Cobb Salad, Chopped Salad, Kale Salad, or the one with the pimiento dressing. The wraps are good, too (try the Spicy Lentil), as are all the fresh vegetables. Great fresh salsas (Salsa Fresca) and salsas in jars (Hatch Valley is especially good). Most of Trader Joe's boxed and jarred foods (like crackers) are healthier versions of name brands. I've only been disappointed once (Sriracha sauce--nothing beats the Rooster kind). Lines are long on weekends and insane before holidays, but the lines move pretty fast. Cheerful employees keep the atmosphere positive. You'll have a hard time not filling up your basket with chocolate and other goodies, but aside from that, there's no downside to shopping at Trader Joe's. read more
