I was just Trader Joe's Hingham with my mom. I, unfortunately, came across a very rude female, cashier, who refused to make any eye contact or attempt to be helpful at all when I simply asked "Can you please ring this up separately?" I asked her three times, she never responded, then I saw my mom finished paying for the grocery, then she rang up the item. Well, a silent "Yes," I guess!! At the end, when I said thank you, she just looked up to the ceiling and said "have a good evening!" Zero eye contact and full of attitude throughout the transaction. A terrible shopping experience! A comment below mentioned that staff being racists at this Hingham branch. I cannot disagree. read more

I LOVE THIS TRADER JOE's LOCATION! It is still out of the way for me to go, but Trader Joe's is so worth it. I love getting their mini avocado bags, ube ice cream, frozen soup dumplings that you can just toss in the microwave, and corn chips paired with one of their dips (my favorite is the everything and the elote Greek style yogurt dip). On a whim, decided to drive down here to see if they finally had the Ube ice cream in stock AND THEY DID! Also, grabbed a bag of chile spiced mango on the way to check out. Always like this traders. Ample parking lot in the plaza. There's a lot of shops and food in the area. Mainly came here today for Ube ice cream haha. They have wooden utensils in the little buckets on the way out! Was trying to grab the lady some peonies but i was too late only a couple bundles left that had already bloomed fully. Clean store, chips and elote dip always boss. Def a fan of traders! The mango chili snacks at the end caps before you checkout were better then i expected, def would have liked more crusted chili / tajin but would get again! read more

This Trader Joe's used to be a solid four star in my book, but in the past year or so, it's gone a bit downhill. The staff are friendly and helpful as ever, but the produce has gotten worse, a lot of items simply aren't in stock regularly, and the location has become so crowded that finding parking is always a nightmare unless it's very early on a weekday morning. It's still a decently sized Trader Joe's with the items you'd expect from one, but you might find yourself not finding what you're looking for or that the quality of the items is worse than usual. read more

The staff here is racist! Today, my wife and I went shopping with our kids. As soon as my wife got to the place where they were selling their new shopping bags, the employee told my wife that you can't buy them! And my wife hasn't even spoken! Just because my wife is Chinese! But other customers just grabbed their shopping bags and left! They didn't say anything, we put the things we were going to buy back and left, my wife was very sad, obviously did nothing, but they falsely accused her of having bought a lot of shopping bags! Until recently, I was generally indifferent towards Trader Joe's. I just saw it as a small grocery store with some delightful dessert options, and staff that wears Hawaiian shirts. Then I realized Trader Joe's is owned by Aldi. In case you didn't know, I adore Aldi and have been caught saying: "Aldi is bae!". I ran in soon after I found out, and then saw Trader Joe's in a new light, and found a place for it in my heart. TJ's can replace your grocer, depending on your needs. If your willing to buy your lunch meat pre-packaged and your beef without a butcher dept, it should be fine. If you want your bologna sliced, your burgers ground, etc., then TJ's should be A-OK. Their produce seems to be of higher quality than other stores. Also, like Aldi, they appear to stock a wide selection of cheeses and other curious items that aren't found at Demoulas or Stoppy. For instance, a frozen French onion soup that is divine out of the oven, a lovely mushroom risotto, a delicious jalapeno limeade, and many more. Then there are the desserts: orange marmalade sticks, jelly cubes, chocolate-covered toffee, just to name a few. I initially wanted to say their prices are a little higher. However, Consumer's Checkbook disagrees with me, stating TJ's prices are about on par with Market Basket. Perhaps I wasn't making a fair comparison for TJ's (like Aldi) carries many of its own brands instead of national brands. Staff is delightful too, know about the products they sell and can make recommendations/answer questions. read more

Oh TJ's, I want to let you know I never took you for granted. I have loved every location I have been to, even the tiny yet efficient location on Boylston St in the Back Bay. Your staff are always friendly and helpful. Your prices are fantastic. The quality of your products can't be beat. Organic/free range etc products without Whole Foods prices. However, I have to admit Whole Foods via Amazon Prime does have amazing sales. The products that I stock up on are countless-kettle corn and plantain chips with that cheeky little monkey, chocolate covered toffee, frozen foods (especially the Indian entrees), beef and pork jerky, healthcare products not tested on animals and all those sauces. I'm sure I am forgetting a ton of things because single me lived on snack foods and frozen entrees. Now I'm going to have to drive about 1.5 hours to visit you in Portland, sadly a trip I probably won't make as often as I have here in MA where you have more locations. Maybe my friends and family will send my favorites in lieu of birthday and Christmas presents. read more

Trader Joe's has finally come to Hingham! This is such good news for those of us in the neighborhood since the closest one has been in Hanover which has been a few too many miles away for me to want to go there often along with its too small, uncomfortably crowded shopping experience. But not here! This brand-spanking new store is right in the Shipyard making it convenient not only because it's close to home but is easy access for us ferry commuters to stop in after work. This place gives some stiff competition to the ridiculously pricey Fresh Market also housed in the Shipyard. I stopped in this morning to find loads of friendly, smiling, helpful and energetic staff, wide aisles offering plenty of space for me and my cart and all the Trader Joe's products I've come to love. Sadly, no liquor license here...I've yet to try their wine. But nonetheless between this new TJs, the local Whole Foods and the Hingham Fruit Center, I'm in grocery shopping nirvana here on the South Shore. read more

I always love to shop here. They have such a good variety of products here and the prices are very reasonable. The help is always really nice here and very efficient. The shelves are always well stocked and faced neatly. They sell candy and snacks in bulk and I love the chocolate peanut butter cups they have here. I usually get them every time I go there. A huge kudos and thanks to these folks. I've had two runs here during the COVID19 breakout and they have been absolutely phenomenal. It was raining today and they handed out umbrellas to people waiting in line, offered hand sanitizer, and had everything (including the elusive toilet paper). Their staff has been awesome, great selection, and the store was clean. Thanks for making a weird and scary time much more manageable. Their pepperoni pizza mac and cheese is dynomite. read more

This Trader Joe's American s very large. It's much like Trader Joe's in states like: Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. They actually have a much broader variety of foods, flavors, and more brands. They sell lots of the the 2 year aged Canadian Cheddar that the Hanover TJ's stopped selling 3 years ago. Lots more employees, more checkout lanes, and large shopping carts and baskets. If you like to purchase plants, they have a much broader selection of everything you could think of: herbs, flowers, vegetables, house decor plants. Excellent quality employees. Wide shopping aisles. Just beware of the parking lot. They're crazy! read more

Visited this store for the first time today. After having shopped at a bunch of TJ's in the state, I can safely say this store is the crown jewel of all it's Massachusetts locations. Store is pretty large; definitely one of the biggest locations in the state. No wine however, but that's no skin off my back since I don't drink. Nice wide aisles. Everything was very well stocked, even on a busy Saturday afternoon. And everyone working in the store was very friendly and seemed to be liking their jobs. Try finding that at any other grocery store in the area. read more

Trader Joe's is one of my newest favorite places for groceries. It's small, but just right for a typical grocery shopping trip. This particular location is newer and located within the swanky Shipyard area off Route 3A, straddling the Weymouth town border. The store is large, spacious, and never as busy as many of the other Trader Joe's in more suburban locations. Well stocked and extremely wide aisles. Breath of fresh area from city stores that are chuck full of people in aisles that are in-passable. Friendly staff. Always more than polite and full of energy. Seems like Trader Joe's always has a full crew of happy, over the top staff. Another one of the many things I love about their stores. This particular branch deserves five stars due to the excess of amenities. And kudos to management to being super professional and efficient in responding to the "Contact Us" page on the Trader Joe's website (had a quick request, and they responded within one day!). 5 stars for this TJ's! Great place to stop for a quick grocery stock up trip. read more

Love this store!! I have been going here for a few years and their staff is amazing and the store always well stocked and clean. Came today during the covid-19 outbreak and their were super well prepared. Hand sanitizer sprayed at the door on the way in and out, sanitizer wipes available and carts getting wiped, the store was stocked full of everything, the registers had tape markers for how far to stand from the next person in line and the staff was walking around checking in with customers. The produce was clearly just stocked and was fresh and nothing was out. read more

Best place to shop for snacks for my kids. Friendly staffs and clean. I normally find myself buying same groceries since they have their own great products while you cant find where else with affordable prices. The cashiers are my favorite, they would give your child a cute sticker not being asked. And if they find one apple in your bag got rotten they will ring the bell and someone coming to get it exchanged for a better one. Can you tell me where else you find customer service this great? They used to have small carts for kids, which is the main reason I came here. We buy "fun food" here, not actual groceries, and having the kids carts let my kid practice making choices and deciding what she snacks she wanted - a great experience for her. The new Trader Joe's in Hingham is finally open! After what felt like an eternity to go from just a rumor to an actual installation, this brings Trader Joe's relief to the South Shore. First off, this location is at least twice or three times the size of the nearby Hanover location. Like Hanover, there's no booze to be sold in this location ... yet (a little birdie chirped that they will apply for a liquor license after the New Year). However, there is finally room to move about the aisles and you don't have to mow people down to get what you want. The store itself is clean and to be expected, the staff were very friendly. You can buy high-quality, rather healthy (to an extent), and tasty food at a fraction of the Whole Paycheck ... oops, I mean Whole Foods price. read more

Great selection of items, wide aisles that makes even the busiest of times easy to manage, the BEST cut flower selection, reasonable and low prices, plenty of parking, super helpful and friendly staff and sea breezes!! This Trader Joe's does not sell alcohol as there is a strict limit to the number of licenses in the town of Hingham. Bummer as they have great wine and beer. Nonetheless, this TJ has a large selection of cheese, chips and dips, cereal, meat in small pre-packed packages, fruit and vegetables, canned goods,, ready made salads, and all kinds of really cool frozen food, including ethnic dishes. Much cheaper than Whole Foods. Located in the old Hingham Shipyard area just off Route 3A which runs from Quincy South to Plymouth, there is an ample free parking lot. So excited it is finally open here. I have seen the building be built from the ground up over the past 6 months. It is in a great location, right off of 3A, in the Shipyard. There is ample parking too. Inside it is very spacious. They have a huge produce section, and a lot of premade sandwiches, some assorted sushi, and salads. Great options to grab something for lunch. All of the employees seem friendly, and they have a great selection of meats, breads, and pantry items. They dont have a liquor license, but other than that I am a huge fan, and will be devoting a lot of my time and money to this new location read more

I think that I've soured on this place with the help of two employees, one of them I think was Amy, she never smiled, acted like I was wasting her time and was disinterested, this hasn't been the first time I've dealt with her but I'll advise everybody to avoid her, secondly .. I am a customer I spend a lot of money in this store, I don't need to be talked down to by an employee who acted as if she was management, I get it you have a female Napolean complex, don't take your nasty attitude and vulgar words and use them near me about your fellow employees and customers with good hearing, I believe her name was Allison, I've noticed a ton of turn over in this store and I've been going here since it opened, I might as well just stop now while these 2 people work in here. Half the distance and twice the size of the next closest one to us (Hanover), this TJ's has filled the specialty grocery void in our life after fleeing Arlington Heights for Quincy. Aisles are wide, shelves are constantly fully stocked, staff is agreeably friendly, and there's tons of parking. My only caveat, of course (as it is with every Trader Joe's outside of Cambridge and Brookline) is the lack of alcohol. They certainly have space for it, and maybe if the state ever relaxes its ridiculous blue laws in this regard, they can just throw in a new aisle here with minimal fuss. read more

I'm a huge trader joes fan. The cheese department value for party's alone has me hooked. This particular location has amazing staff! Always super friendly and helpful per the usual trader joes behavior. I was there today and accidentally left my lights on. I needed a jump. The woman who works there went to her car in the worst windy cold rain and got her cables rendered help from another male employee and got me started. She then gave me a bouquet of flowers and wished me a better day! So genuinely kind and helpful. I did have a better day. I walked away from the experience feeling grateful! Nice TJ's. They were the regular size and had just about the exact products as Oregon. Of course the produce didn't come from the west coast, but it felt like a slice of home.
