This is my local Trader Joe's. I just have to give them a shoutout, this place is always stocked and looks amazing. I get overwhelmed at every TJ's location except for this one. I love visiting different trader joes in my area. I love Virginia TJs cuz they have adult bevys l!! I forgot the reason why in MOCO we can't have this it sucks because I have to cross the river to get one of my favorite IPAs.... they carry this refrigerated pineapple mimosa! Yall gotta try this! This place is insanely busy. That alone crushes my desire, of a stress free grocery experience. It's a small store, and every visit, it's as if a nearby factory just got off. Parking is a cinch despite this. Yet I prefer their less crowded stores. That being said, good selection of foods for a single dad. Got to feed the levitation. He's growing. Here prices for most part are competitive. Very good bargains in microwaved dinners, or meal portions of chicken with lemon. I like this aspect, and trying to fight away from their delicious candies. Who doesn't like Trader Joe's!?!?! I love them but be forewarned that they discontinue customer favorites all the time & the latest victim: Garlic Chipotle Salsa! Quelle horreur!!! The only reason I stopped in today was to grab a couple of jars because I was telling my coworkers how amazing this salsa is & I was going to put it in a little Father's Day gift basket for them. It really is the best!!! But noooooo nada zip zilch nothing! I inquired, since I couldn't find it in the store, & the crew member informed me that they had DISCONTINUED it! No mas. Fini. I grabbed some Guajillo to try & as I was checking out I asked the cashier, Yaa, if it was good and she said it was sooooo good. Let me tell you it is not good & whoa is me, lol, but Yaa was very sweet & efficient & had a wonderful smile on her face. This location is always busy & has long lines but they move fairly quickly. They had a lot of staff working & all seemed happy. One girl picked up chips that fell when I grabbed a bag (to go with my discontinued salsa lol) so I didn't have to struggle with my basket to pick it up, and another guy gave me a big smile as he was restocking. After leaving the doctor's office I decided that I needed to grab a few items before heading home. This location was fairly close to where I currently was and I was on my way there. Like most Trader Joe's this location was a madhouse of chaos. People were everywhere and all I wanted to do was grab a few items before I was on my way. I made my way to the sections I knew the items were in and grabbed the few things I needed. I'm nearing the end of the store when I stumble into the wine section. I completely forgot that TJs sold alcohol. Mainly because I have lived in areas where alcohol doesn't usually get sold in grocery stores. It was like the heavens opened and sunshine was bathing this section. Trader Joe's still has, in my opinion, the best Moscato out there. Of course I grabbed a bottle of it and made my way to the register to check out. It was a great reward to have after a doctor's visit. (I'd like to note that that bottle of wine stayed in my fridge until Thanksgiving). read more

This is my TJ's! And it's a good one! 1.) Parking is better than most Trader Joe's - a big open parking lot - there's something with Trader Joe's where they usually have scarily cramped parking. Not so here. 2.) Great location close to other shopping 3.) Super nice staff -- I often have sweet little conversations when I'm checking out that brighten my day. I'm not sure if they have better wages, benefits, working conditions than other retail workers, but I really appreciate that at this store the staff act like human beings, and treat you like a fellow human being. I don't usually hold it against other retail workers for being in a bad mood -- I've been there (sort of). TJ's is different, definitely doing *something* right. 4.) 8/30/21 Visiting this Trader Joe's was a better experience that the one closer to Falls Church by Main Street.  I found the prices to be lower than the one on Main Street.   I saw the staff members seemed happier than the staff at Main Street. I also saw how tight the parking is.  This area is a little more busier than the Main Street  Trader Joe's,  but not by much. My wife and I came across the Watermelon Cooler Trader Joe's sells.  The cost ag this store is $3.49 vs $4.99 at the Main Street Store.   I know where I am going for more of these drinks.   My wife got me hooked on this drink and it also helps you go to the bathroom for both numbers. I thought I wrote a review on this place, but I guess I was mistaken.    I will definitely return here soon. read more

This store is always so clean and organized. I really appreciate that. Also the employees have always been really helpful and friendly. People actually enjoy working and going there because the energy is good and lively! Great selection of fresh flowers, plants, produce, seasonal items, cheese, meats, wine, beer and more. Trader Joe's really has great products and they're pretty easy going about making returns/exchanges which is always nice. I keep coming back to this convenient location because of so many positive reasons. I'll be back again soon to see what else is new and stock up on all my favorite stuff! Pro tip: they actually have a bathroom! It's downstairs and tucked away though. read more

My experience here was great because I found everything I needed. I was in so much shock to find an ENTIRE freezer full of the cauliflower gnocchi PLUS the kale gnocchi and sweet potato gnocchi - it was amazing! The staff was super nice and helpful! This is a nice Trader Joe's that I would go out of my way to visit over other stores. As other reviewers have noted, it feels more roomy and organized than some stores. This makes sense compared to the Clarendon location, which has obvious limits on space. I also find that this stores tends to have a better stock of items than other local stores. Especially the flowers, which are gorgeous most times I come here. Watch out when you're parking--there are lots of spots but the organization of the lot isn't great, and cars and pedestrians are always darting out. read more

For years this was a one of the better TJ stores, but the last few visits I've had, it has been truly rough. Most notably, the staff here seem miserable. On several occasions, I witnessed several different staff people become weirdly combative in response to simple customer questions or pointing out an item ringing up a different price than posted. Lately, there are also reliably several common produce items that have a lot available but all have rot or look quite past their prime (mushy spots, brown, etc). There have been truly shady price increases at this location lately, too. On one recent visit, a usually $3.99/bag of mini conventional avocados (a regular item in my basket) were being marked at this TJ for $8.99. I confirmed the price was correct with a TJ team member here who was stocking produce (who seemed truly inconvenienced by the question). I got the same item/quantity from Walmart for $2. Another TJ I stopped in same-day was still selling them for $3.99. Another trick is trying to charge a package price for beverages x the # of beverages in the case. So, for example: a package that contains 4 cans is labeled as 3.99 and sold as a package for that price everywhere else.The "manager" (his statement) here insisted it was 3.99 x4 for the "case" (4-pack). The labeling and ring-up price is clearly per package but he tried to charge us that x the # of items. Super shady. Hopefully TJs can figure out why this store has gone so haywire and turn it around. read more

This is my favorite TJs in the area!! Old Town is too small and Clarendon is too busy. This one is justtttt the right size, and they have a nice size parking lot. The employees are always friendly and eager to help. Right now during the Coronavirus outbreak they are saving the first hour of shopping (8am-9am) for seniors 60+. By this time there will most likely be a line of shoppers waiting to get in. When I went the line was wrapped around Panera!! I believe they are letting no more than 40-50 shoppers in at a time. Even with this, the process was very organized and the shelves were fully stocked. They also wiped down each cart before giving it to the next shopper! Good job Trader Joe's! read more

A typical trader joe's setup with produce as you enter; frozen items in the middle; and alcohol section the far right. Great selection from snacks to entrees. With regards with their contents, there is no complaints. A couple of negative aspects that are somewhat unavoidable are the limited parking availability, especially since it is located in the same plaza as other retailers such as Panera bread, Best Buy and bobs furniture store; therefore on busy weekends, it gets tricky finding a spot. The other negative thing is how small they design the store. Considering the current issue of public distancing, it gets really busy and the lines to the registers wrap around the store sometimes. However the employees are very pleasant and fast at checkout. I recommend to grab what you need and leave as it can get packs real fast. Overall: Great alternative to other grocery stores and comparable to Aldi's selections. Happy shopping. read more

Returned an item at front desk and since I was going to shop they told me to request the refund at the register where they ring a bell. I just should have gotten the refund ahead of shopping instead of listening to the 110 decibel bell at the register ringing 3 times for assistance. The cashier guy said to cover your ears at the second he started ringing the bell not allowing you time to cover your ears. Trader Joe just lost me as a 3x a week customer that will never go back, period. read more

I love this Trader Joe's! Its bright and well stocked and the staff is lovely. I also love their wine/beer section that feels like its almost at a different spot of the store. Some of them I feel the wine kind of sneaks up on you but here it has a large area that's well organized by type so that you can get your fix of whatever it is you crave. Like other Trader Joe's they sample different items and usually the employees around are able to answer any questions about the different products based on what they've tried and what they've heard others try. This location is my favorite, conveniently located with great parking, very friendly staff, and I just love their selection of products. I love this store. I have my usual groceries that I get here, and I have yet to not find what I'm looking for when I go here. I can't say that about other Trader Joes I've been to. I appreciate the warmth of the employees, and I think it's cool that they give recommendations and have tastings of their products. If you go on weekends, you'll likely find it to be busy. Fortunately, this store is super-organized hand has designated lanes for hand baskets vs. carts, so you won't have to wait too long in the checkout line. For all of these reasons, if you are in or near the Bailey's Crossroads area, I highly recommend using this store when you need a Trader Joe's. read more

The fresh produce department always neat and well maintained , quality at an affordable prices , I love how they have a large selection of seasonal flowers and Roses at the front as you enter . I'm a fan of this particular Trader Joe's, as the staff here are super friendly (especially the cashiers!). Located in the busy Bailey's Crossroads plaza, further down from Panera, this TJ's is always hoppin'! Flowers/plants, breads, teas, condiments, fresh produce, cheeses/sausages, ready-made salads, nut and dried fruit mixes, wine/beer/juices, and desserts are some of the items that they offer. I love checking out their 'Fearless Flyer' (free, and by the entrance) for some current recipes and items of the week. My favorite items here are the Strawberry Rhubarb pies, their organic bananas, Cookie Butter spread, their mini pitas (perfect for appetizers and parties), and their yummy sparking sodas. They usually have some samples in the back, such as stir-fry, cheeses, and/or beverages. Parking is free in the shared plaza lot, but there's a lot of traffic (both car and pedestrians), so just be cautious. Ah, Trader Joe's. I'm really enjoying my visits to this chain - not only because of the food but more so because I find that the Crew I come into contact with are really friendly and have time to chat and always have really good craic around the demo booth lol! I made a stop at this location last week and had a nice experience despite the cold weather outside! The shop itself is nicely laid-out - I like the diagonal aisles and the end caps are well structured and stocked. Especially the wine section. Bless. On this occasion I wandered over to the demo booth and enjoyed both a hot coffee and chicken tikka masala type sample, as well as had a nice wee chat with one of the awesome Crew members. This gent is originally from Norwich, in England, and through the mix and flow of various patrons seeking free samples to taste, he and I enjoyed a good yarn about back home in the UK, the Lizard Peninsula, restoring classic cars, and a few other random topics. It was good craic and it was pretty nice that the other punters didn't seem annoyed at all at us just yapping away while they helped themselves to free samples. Anyway - like the other Trader Joe's locations I've been to in the DC area, I enjoyed briefing the aisles and shelves as much as having a laugh with the Crew. I went to Trader Joe's this evening around 7:30pm eager to restock on all of my grocery favorites, only to be extremely let down by THE Joe himself. As I perused aisle by aisle, my heart continued to sink deeper and deeper until it finally touched the heavily trafficked tile floor. The grocery store was stripped of all its goodness in the form of tasty frozen food and popular Trader Joe's creations. Those who had witnessed what I did, may go as far to say the shelves were that of a zombie apocalypse... So what is a man to do in a situation like this? I grabbed a large tub of yogurt and a picked over package of salmon and ventured to the check out. With my head hung low in disappointment, I drug my broken heart to the check out line. I swiped my card and left questioning my faith in the future of Trader Joe's. I thought he was reliable, someone I could depend on. But if he were that, why am I here writing this yelp review? Amazing store! This place literally has everything I need. The food here is pretty fresh. Most of the inhouse stuff they make is amazing they have a huge wine selection they even have dog food. If you're concerned about COVID/Delta don't come here. Been coming here as our default grocery store for years. At the beginning of the pandemic, they were the first to take precautions and did a great job with it. Now that more people are taking Delta seriously, they are pretending it doesn't exist. The last two weekends at best 40% of their staff are masked, compared to 90%+ of customers. With their narrow aisles and constant changing of stock on the floor, there is no way to keep even 3' from unmasked staff members. If most of your customers are wearing masks, your staff probably should be too. Other grocery stores in the area have all staff masked. Guess I'll be going there for the time being. read more

I love Trader Joe's, all of them really, but this one is special to me. It's in a constantly crowded shopping center, and can be very crowded itself, yet they always keep it organized and stocked, and are incredibly efficient at checking everyone out so the lines are steady. They have better looking and usually cheaper meat/produce here than at the Safeway across the street, or the Giant near my home. It's farther from my home than Giant is, but I'll use whatever excuse to drive the extra distance to come here. read more
