Over 52 weeks and counting to install 3 windows during a roofing and siding insurance job. - we were guaranteed today or Monday for a reinstall by the owner. Today is the 3rd cancellation in a row in 4 weeks to reinstall our windows after they knew April 2021 they mis-measured and would need to reorder windows with 12 weeks lead time again and coordinate an install. The windows have been setting in their shop or at the supplier for 1 month.
Note: original owner of home picked Trademark Restoration prior to sale to us and we have been working within the context of the original owner, State Farm, Trademark contractor ever since.
We are missing some house wrap, some siding is cracked, we picked up a full coffee can full of nails after they were done cleaning up a second time including in our driveway. They wrongly re-installed our awning and it almost collapsed on us. Requested they get an awning contractor to reinstall. Many missed appointments, cancellations, and no shows. This is beyond Covid related delays.
-August 2020 - claim was approved by State Farm for a 2020 storm.
-December 2020- Trademark noted windows were wrong by State Farm. I finally got a copy of the claim and it said one of the windows was fixed. It took me 2 minutes to realize no fixed windows in the entire home. Why did it take 3 months to place the window order let alone not notice the discrepancy by the Contractor taking the lead on the project.
-April 2021 - Windows arrived and were installed (wrong sizes all 3 windows - stuck out into the house and jerry rigged jam extensions) - not notified of this until we called them out on it. Missed the code required tempered glass in the bathroom and windows shrunk 2 vertical inches. Not installed square and 2 slider windows tight to open. Scheduled a site meeting immediately.
-April 2021 - big site meeting with project manager and window installers and reordered 9 days later on May 3. Assured we will be taken care of -Another 14 weeks to include long lead times and staining. - Windows came in a week late around July 20, 2021. Assured staining would take place immediately. 10 days though before it went to the stainer. Then they asked us if they had left the stain at our house?' Nope.
-August 28, 2021 - 4th Saturday cancellation they have made on us. 4 weeks ago they didn't try to schedule us. 3 weeks ago cancelled since window guys got exposed to Covid. 2 weeks ago we were told 80% chance of rain but no weather forecast predicted more than 50% 2 hours that day. No rain the rest of the day after 8:15 a.m. in the morning. Owner committed to Saturday today and/or Monday to resolve. It was confirmed yesterday they would arrive today as it was earlier in the week between 8 and 11 a.m., It was then confirmed this morning as we requested a closer time to between 9 and 10 a.m. via a text. At 11:30 a.m. after our prompting we received a text, sorry we don't know where are installers are and the other installation crew is out of town. Obviously, we are very upset. Please consider personal references when selecting a contractor. We have worked with 5 exterior contractors in the past including (3) whole roofs, entire house siding once, and multiple window replacements and we have had a good experience with one, an ok with that same one a second time, an ok experience with a third one, a terrible experience with a 4th one but this has been even worse than the terrible experience. At another house while this was happening we did 4 windows in a 12 week period with Covid Delays admitted by that contractor.
12 week Covid delay vs. 54 week delay. There is an obvious difference in contractors performance.
Please do your due diligence before selecting an exterior contractor. Trademark Restoration may have done ok for others but this is our experience.
We will update once resolved and how it is resolved. read more
