Privacy portion of fence. They removed an old privacy fence and installed this custom fence and gate.

Even with all the supply issues that were out of Cornerstone's control, I got my new fence in a very timely manner! Over 200 feet of fence installed in 2 days. Cornerstone's attention to detail is much appreciated. Jason was particularly concerned with keeping any gaps small , so that my Dachshund wouldn't be able to escape. I highly recommend Cornerstone Fence!

Rock Valley Fence - The wood they used to build our fence.

There was no mess because of the work because there was no dirt removal and it only took a day. The only issue we had with the entire process was we were told scheduling would call us and let us know the date of install but I had to call after a week because I wasn't notified. However the receptionist was super helpful and let me know the install date right away. Would definitely recommend.

I would have thought that when RVF sent Dane County Deck & Fence with personal and BBB - A+ recommendations, that it was a sure bet. Perhaps this customer just caught their crew during a bad day. I paid RVF $7200 to install a new fence inside my older one as the neighbors had committed numerous crimes against me with no police action or court protection. Before one section was built, I noticed 4 vertical wooded slats hanging and flapping loose at the top on a neighbor's side. I asked Raoul (sp?) if he could please nail it together with 4 screws. He barked, "That's not in the contract, and I only have do do what's in the contract. I was not hired for this." I reminded him that the customer standing before him was an elderly, totally disabled man in his spine, shoulder and hands and could not turn 4 screws himself to resolve the obvious future problem with the threatening neighbors. He barked again, "I'm not going to do the whole fence. I wasn't hired for this. It's not in the contract." I told him that it was not the whole fence, as I showed and stated, but only 4 vertical wooden slats. He argued, and roboticly repeated himself - with good measure turning his body to face away from me to hide his obvious unreasonableness - and poor business and customer service sense. In the end he said begrudgingly that he's do it. He did not. 4 screws. 4 screws and your previously A+ rated business gets this for a business review from a man who has been a foreign correspondent/journalist in 6 countries over 32 years, including 2 wars. My talents could have been put to better use to add to your otherwise fine online reputation. It only takes one bad apple to spoil the bunch. I had even greeted and made coffees for the workers. No thanks needed; how about hello, whenever I passed them. Not one of them ever responded; not one - once. They did not even look back at me. Strange way to treat a man who had just paid you $7200. I hope you shape up your customer relations and teach Raoul to act on the SPIRIT of the law, as they say, not the letter. In the end, it brings better reviews - all over the web. Russell Gordon

We met both in the office and at our home before the project to go line by line through all of the project requirements before starting. Sam at New Leaf provided us with a written project plan and costs for the project. We are normally DIY'ers so Sam worked with us to suggest items we could do ourselves to reduce costs. The work went very quickly and Sam came to the house often to check progress. We received calls immediately if any problems were found to help keep the project on track. Overall New Leaf's original cost estimate was very good. We only ended up paying an extra $100 for some electrical problems that were found when the wall was opened. We would definitely use New Leaf again and recommend them to others. I am only giving a four star review because I do wish there would have been more communication on the design details of the project. Everything turned out fine, but many of the details were not discussed until the day before they were installed leaving me slightly worried and sometimes calling the office to make sure we were on the same page.

Be aware of your rights and would strongly advise you to document all encounters and requests all details be finalized in written documentation no matter how small it may seem at the time. Lastly, know your rights to request a Sworn Statement (A document that lists the contractors and suppliers that provide material or labor to a construction project. Consider a contractor that will not turn an ear to hearing difficult concerns and will, instead, choose to address things head on in a professional manner versus have to fight to be heard.
