Oh boy, a new brewery? Let's see what the fuss is about. Came here before a concert at the Uptown Theatre. You can only get the beer in this location as they don't distribute it. Tried the Hatchet and the Piledriver. Wow they were good (and strong at that). Recommend eat before you partake or take a antacid to slow down absorption. I hope this place does well - love these type of establishments. read more

After grabbing a bite at C Casa at the Oxbow Market on the morning of New Year's day, we walked into Trade Brewing right around when they opened for business. Given we were obviously the first customers in the door, Monique greeted us warmly, and invited us to have a seat at the bar. We had a flight ($10) of the brown ale, the saison, the belgian ale, the imperial stout, and the double IPA (Pile Driver). Of the 5, my favorites were the brown ale and the Pile Driver. The brown ale was smooth, and had enough flavor but didn't leave any aftertaste. The Pile Driver was very fruity, and despite the high IBU (115!), did not taste super bitter at all for an IPA. The alcohol content (8.9%) doesn't seem SUPER high per se, but it's up there, and you'll feel it if you're drinking on an empty stomach. (One pork tostada was not enough to inoculate me from the buzz, LOL) As for the other beers- the saison was decent with good flavor, but a bit too much in terms of carbonation. The belgian ale tasted very similar to the saison, but was flatter and lighter in flavor. Not bad either. The Imperial Stout was just not really my cup of tea. Barely got through a 3rd of the small flight glass. Too many flavors going on, and they didn't seem to meld very well- it's like they were fighting for supremacy on my palate, and couldn't wait to take turns. I think Monique noticed the look on my face as I was processing. :-D This spot is obviously the new kid on the block, and I hope they'll do well. Definitely worth a try for those visiting this small area in Napa! read more

This review is a long time coming as we were here in February. The location is great and loved the inside. The beers, top notch absolutely! However hubby received an education on why his stout was poured in a smaller glass not a traditional pint glass and well not a pint. Beer tastes better in that type of glass and you savor more when served less. Well hubby doesn't like being told how much beer to have... he wanted a pint. He did enjoy his beer and it soothes his inner bear. Although I still think the server wasn't too thrilled with the lecture he got after educating my hubby on the finer points of craft beer. Alll in all we will be back as the beer is tasty and I can't handle the grapes of wrath since I do prefer beer over wine any day!! read more

Oh boy I was so juiced when I heard about a new Brewery in town, I finally visited tonight and oh man the beer.. one word summed up it was awesome! The IPA's were great, but my favorites were Ten Penny and the Hatchet! I came in with my bud and I can tell you he came out amazed as well. This is my new spot to come and have a beer after work or on a night out, the staff was very friendly and social with us and always very attentive of our needs. They also have whats called a flight where you can taste 5 different beers they offer in smaller tasting glasses at around 10$ I believe, it was worth it and I'm glad I was able to try out a wider selection on my first time in. Foodwise I rate it a 5 star also, we tried their paninis and I've never tried a better panini, the paninis come served with chips on the side. They also have merchandise for sale and so of course I bought a hoodie for 40$, the material feels nice. I hope to see maybe a wider selection in the future and I hope it continues to strive because it's definitely a spot to check out in downtown Napa! We were really glad that we came into this place. It looks like a private home from the outside, and it's pretty dinky inside, but it is very friendly and welcoming. I'm not a big beer drinker, so I shouldn't review the beers, but I really enjoyed the sampler and one or two of the selections in particular. There is hardly any food, but what there is is delicious and priced really affordable (especially important for Napa). read more

My wife and I had an extraordinary experience at Trade Brewing on the first day of our honeymoon. Visited last Friday night and had a really nice time. The beers were fantastic, at fair prices. Loved the Ten Penny ale. Service was really friendly and the music was fun and upbeat. My husband and his friend had a few laughs playing a video game system mounted on the wall. The only critique I'd give is that the place is super noisy due to voices bouncing off the walls.
