I was genuinely excited to dine here after hearing so much about it before my trip to Alaska. The Golden King Crab leg was absolutely delicious; I would have happily enjoyed a second one, as a single leg simply wasn't enough. I didn't try the biscuit, so I can't comment on that. The crab bisque was enjoyable, with plenty of crab meat throughout. While it wasn't the best I've ever had, it was still flavorful and satisfying. The mini crab cakes were good as well, though I was a bit disappointed, I expected more crab and less filler. The atmosphere is more of a small, cafeteria‑style setting. My only complaint is that the food is brought to you on a tray, yet you don't actually get to use the tray. I'm not a fan of having my food placed directly on paper or extending on the table. All in all, although the food was a bit pricey, it was a good experience. The crab legs were the star of the meal and they did not disappoint.
Came here a couple days ago and was honestly shocked about the price of the crab legs. However I can say the meat is plump, sweet, and juicy. Dipped in the butter, it was perfect. I didn't think one leg would be enough but it was a perfect meal. We were able to eat outside and saw a bald eagle. There is a lot of outside seating and clean bathrooms. Everyone working there is super friendly and helpful.
If you are visiting Juneau while your cruise ship is docked, don't follow the lemmings and hit up the Tracy's near the port. While the food and prices are the same, you'll have to wait in a huge line with all the other tourists. Instead, get your hiking boots on and start walking to the 2nd location. Yes, it's another 15 minutes from the original location, but you'll work up your appetite for all the wonderful food you'll have. Once you arrive, you'll see the welcome sign. Follow the directions and order at the first window, then order your adult beverages from the 2nd window and find your seats in one of the two large tents. We arrived at 11:30 AM, and there was only 1 other party in front of us. After ordering, our food arrived in less than 10 minutes. My wife & I each ordered a combo (her the Golden King Crab, me the Snow Crab), which came with a cup of crab bisque, 4 mini crab cakes, a roll and drawn butter. We each also got a fountain soda (refills can be had at the first counter). The food is worth the hype. If you've never eaten fresh crab before, take your time and use the crab tool to free up the juicy meat. Eventually, you'll get the hang of it. And unless you get on the fishing boat and catch the suckers yourself, you'll probably won't have fresher crab again. Afterwards, walk off the meal and check out the Whale Project nearby. Your friends will want to see more pictures than all the meals you're having on this vacation.
Tracy's King Crab Shack tooootally lived up to the hype! The king crab was phenomenal, the ambience was super fun, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They even triple-checked that everything I ordered was gluten-free, which I truly appreciated! Now, back to the king crab... YUM! Every sweet, flavorful bite was absolutely delicious, BUT for me, the bisque totally stole the show! Paired with a little white rice, and my mouth is still watering just thinking about it! All in all, Tracy's King Crab Shack is a WONDERFUL place to visit if you're ever in Juneau!
Yes to all the things everyone else has already mentioned! Treat this like an excursion and also don't skip it! We were able to go in the middle of a port day, the line looked long but the wait was not more than 15 min. The cashiers ring a bell if you order a large bucket! (I haven't decided yet if that part was embarrassing or impressive ) They were also very kind and patient as I was asking all of my questions... questions they probably get asked several times throughout the day. Regardless, they were really polite and sweet and answered nicely! When the order is ready they walk around and call out the name of your order. Our Alaskan king crab came with butter and sourdough rolls! We didn't ask for any, but our server mentioned more butter or rolls would be provided upon request. The crab meat was delicious and not overpoweringly salty. We arrived after our excursion but before walking around to all of the shops. Some of the best seafood we've had and it was the perfect end to our port day at Juneau. (Don't forget to take a photo with Tracy on your way out!) One note: an awesome souvenir would have been a simple Tracy's King Crab magnet... one without any comedic undertones! Next time we go back, we'll see if they have 'em!
Now Thursdays are a kicker.... They got an all you can eat deal for $50 so there will be one heck of a line but don't stray! Stay! Cause good golly, wow the first few bites of the crab bisque were insanely delicious!! Probably the best I've ever had. One bite and my eyes were wiiide open like I'd seen a ghost... You know when they say, "save the best for last"? This crab bisque was exactly that. It was so rich and creamy, really incredible. If money wasn't a thang, I'd serve this to every single one of my guests at my wedding (if I ever got married.) I only had a few bites of this bisque cause I knew it was too good and I had two make every bite count so I moved onto the sliders. And the sliders were cutely arranged. They had the perfect amount of spice. The large picks were perfect to keep the sliders in tack. If I had to choose being a slider girl versus breaking up a crab open. This is the way to go. I'm not breaking the bank and I'm enjoying my meal just as much. And I'm not making a mess of myself. But don't let me stray you from getting the whole crab if you're looking for a lot of meat in your mouth. Honestly, I don't know how people do that 'all you can eat' thang on Thursdays because the sliders and crab bisque was more than enough food for me. But if you're looking for a good mixture of coleslaw, spicy sauce, crab n' crabcake then this IS the right choice. Now, if you're a messy eater like me, you'll probably have a lil' bit slipping out of your sliders, but that's fine! This is when you grab yourself a fork and then you got yourself a lil' crabcake coleslaw salad afterwards. Now let's talk about the view, well hot dang! It's like something out of the travel channel! Hello National Geographic, you have a beautifulll view of the water with the mountains in the background. There are tourist traps, and then there's a tourist's paradise, and right here up in the harbor on Whittier Street is a lil' slice of heaven like you ain't never seen.
The first location of this restaurant is renowned for its amazing crab. A local told us about this location, where there was no wait. We ended up tasting the Red King Crab, the Gold King Crab, the Snow Crab, the "limited special" shelled seafood cup, the lobster bisque, the crab cakes, the rolls, the fries, and the queso. We also had the iced tea cocktail. I personally prefer Snow Crab and it did not disappoint The Iced tea cocktail was also really good. While it is not my preference the Red King Crab leg was also outstanding. Had these been my only items, I would have given the review 5 stars. The lobster bisque, queso, fries and rolls were good if you are in the mood for those items specifically. The seafood cup, which you would think came from the same crabs, was disappointing. It was dry and required the cocktail sauce and lemon. The photograph made it look like there were big chunks, but it was pretty much shredded. I asked the older lady cashier about it when we first ordered the crab legs and then ordered this in our second round. I feel she could have given a little more infirmation about it. Either way, I would not order that or the crab cakes again. If I am even in Juneau again, I'd definitely save my money up fir a stop here!

We stopped at Tracy's King Crab Shack while in Juneau doing the Alaskan cruise. There are two locations, this location being less busy than the main location. There is one bathroom on site. Discover is an accepted form of payment. There is a 2.5% surcharge added to credit card sales. There is a $2.50 up-charge added for to-go items. Wine and beer are available for purchase with a 3% liquor tax. Every step of the process is self-serve; from ordering food, picking up food and bussing own table. The entire establishment is in refurbished functional sheds. Seating is outdoor picnic table, covered tent style. There are several photo stand-ins on the property creating fun photo opportunities. During our visit, I slurped on a pint of Alaskan Husky IPA for $8.50. We shared a small (qty 6) Mini Crab Cakes for $10.95. I ordered a pound of Alaskan Red King Crab for $85; served with garlic rolls and butter. This crab was a test in patience to say the least. Lots of cracking needed to be done and it wasn't easy. My daughter ordered a pound of the Dungeness Snow Crab for $35. We all had a great time sampling local Alaskan seafood at Tracy's. Definitely a highlight of our stop in Juneau.
Tracy's second location is much less crowded than the main location, and also has a prettier view from the tent on the right. The people who work here are also way friendlier, but that could be because all the annoying cruise ship people go to the main location as it is right near port! I tried the half Snow Crab ($45 - comes with two rolls and butter) and the Coleslaw ($4.50) on the side. I was the very first person to order at 10:30AM - crab for breakfast ain't bad! Overall, I liked this second location way more than the main - it is bigger and has more tables, so if you have a big group I would suggest making your way to this location instead. The views are better here, staff is friendlier, more space, but same great crab!
Quick tip for anyone wanting to try Tracy's, come to this location instead of the one on the boardwalk. Less busy, more room and a beautiful view of the mountain. Okay, on to the review. Be aware, it's pricy but I didn't expect anything different. Our group ordered the king crab, crab bisque and crab cakes. I don't even like crab cakes and I had to go order another set because they were that good. They did bring us the wrong crab at first but they fixed it immediately. Crab bisque was the best I ever had and I still dream about it. Some say this place is gimmicky and pandering to the tourists but the food was legitimately good.
Get what you pay for, and it's not cheap. We decided we were splurging this year. It was totally worth it, red and yellow king, dungeonous as well as bisk and mini crab cakes. Definitely worth the stop when in Juneau. Remember - it's not cheap!!
We went to the second location! There is rarely a wait there.. we ordered 2 King Crab legs and 2 snow crab clusters... Our crabs were meaty, sweet and delicious.. It was money well spent .. Yes, it's expensive.. But, there's nothing like fresh crab..
The second location of Tracy's King Crab Shack is the place to be, and is not as crowded as the first location at the center of town. You do have to walk about 15 minutes, but the dining room by the water really is the best spot. As we head to the tented dining room, a bald eagle swoops across the sky and lands on a post in the pier. While this is regarded as the best king crab in Alaska, eating king crab in Juneau is actually insanely expensive. Well if you have come all this way, when in Rome? You can order the king crab legs per leg or in a combo that also includes 4 mini crab cakes, a cup of crab bisque, and rolls. If you have a group, get a bucket of crab legs. They offer both red king crabs and golden king crabs. Go with the red and don't bother with the golden. The red king crabs have more meat and have a sweeter flavor. (Also, if you bring cash, you can avoid the 3% credit card fee.) We get a couple combos including crab chowder, crab cakes, drinks, and red king crab legs, plus legs for the rest of the group. They give you a crab cracking tool. There are a couple prongs on top for holding the top of the shell in place and a sharp edge for ripping the shell open from the bottom. Watch out for the sharp pointy spikes of the shell, so tread carefully. You sort of rock the cracker up and down in a straight line lengthwise until the entire cylinder of crab is free. There are three main pieces. The biggest leg segment has the sweetest and firmest crab meat. The smaller leg segment is more tender and even juicier. The body segment has a big bundle of flaky flesh. I can't remember if I've ever had a red king crab leg all to myself, so this is definitely the most and best king crab I've ever had. read more
Tracy's is one of those places "you just have to try" but it's probably not a place you'll visit a second time. We considered it more of an "excursion/experience" than a legitimate meal. At nearly $100 for a single King Crab leg, it certainly is one of the highest "cost per bite" you'll ever have. And to be honest, it didn't taste much different than the frozen King Crab available at our local grocer's meat counter. Some folks will stand line for nearly an hour to score a seat at a shared table. The crew are friendly and once you finally order the food comes quickly. The room is small, cramped and loud. But, again - it's an experience you'll not get anywhere else. I'm glad we finally crossed this off the list, but I doubt we'll do it again. read more
Tracy's is a must stop and experience place in Juneue Alaska!! Yes it is expensive but you are in Alaska and this is where you will get crab legs like this. We went to their location not at the pier thinking it would be less crowded, which it was but the line is still about 2 people deep, but they move you through ordering quickly. You grab a spot at the picnic table and someone brings you the bucket you ordered. The crab was so delicious and a great size, loaded with meat. The shells were easy to get through with their little tool (I called it the can opener) which you use to split the shells. We had a great time and the crab was amazing! read more

"CRAB HEAVEN ON EARTH MIGHTY GOD" This is every crab lover's dream. I was anticipating this place from the moment we arrived @ 8:00am wanting to skip breakfast and just eat crabs. Anybody who takes the ALASKA cruise always know you have to stop at Tracy's to experience the huge crab legs. The moment we got off of the boat at the boat, we caught a shuttle which dropped us off. We completed some souvenir shopping and next stop was TRACY's. We noticed the line at Tracy's #1 but we were informed of ALL YOU CAN EAT CRABS @ TRACY'S #2. It was a pretty distance walking but we decided to start and begin hiking. I saw a bicycle tour guide and asked if he could give me a tour on the way to TRACY's while the rest of the crew walked. We arrived at TRACY's # 2 and it was a nice short line. We hurry up and jumped in the line and ready to explore these HUGE CRABS. The back yard party was very unique and well kept. It looked your own huge backyard. As you walk into the garden area the bathrooms are to the left and to the right is the line which orders are taking at a small cottage house. Then the next stop is the beer hut, then the last hut is where magic is made with CRABS. In between the Order house and the Beer house there is a unique wide open wash hand station with foot pedal. Then to add richness to it, there is MEYERS GOOD SOAP, nothing cheap. (THANK YOU TRACY FOR KEEPING OUR HANDS SMELLING GOOD). The last house is where the MAGIC happens, The crabs are cooked and sorted. One unique touch is how they call your name according to your city and name. Crab Shack Combo 1st choice - Snow Crab 14oz, 4 mini crab cakes, small bisque, warm roll and butter 2nd Choice - Dungeness Crab Combo - 14oz, 4 mini crab cakes, small bisque, warm roll and butter 3rd Choice - One pound of Alaskan Red King Crab 4th choice - Snow crab Nachos The food, employees and ambience with everything. Went on a cruise to Alaska and this place ended up being the restaurant we recommend the most out of all the ports we went to! Definitely come to this location if you want to skip the lines. We went to the location on the dock which was packed, so we just walked about 15 mins to this spot. We did not have to wait in any lines and the food was very fast! It's a cute little spot with plenty of seating and outdoor heaters. We got the combo- crab bisque, Alaskan red crab legs, crab cake and butter/bread rolls for $98. An amazing deal compared to many other crab places, and the food did not disappoint. The crab had TONS of meat and was so delicious my mouth is still watering! read more
If you're questioning paying $85/lb for Alaskan King crab.... just DO IT! It's so worth it... I still dream about this crab. That first bite was so gooooood I wish I could eat it again.. and again and again. The best and the largest king crab I've ever had. We ordered the snow crab and Dungeness crab as well to try it and they were both good! (obviously much cheaper) and you definitely compare it to the king crab but I would recommend skipping the snow crab and trying the dungeness crab more. The crab comes with these delicious butter breads and their other appetizers were yummy as well. We walked away from the main port area to go see the whale statue and on the way back we stopped by here and so glad we did instead of going to their original location where the lines were soooo long and it would have been a very long wait. This location I feel like is just as good with more space and less or no wait. I also enjoyed the vibe of this spot more cus it's outdoors with covered and heated tents. It just felt very outdoorsy & the view was great! The staff was so friendly and helpful as well!! Such kind souls! Highly recommend!! It is a MUST EAT while you're in Juneau. Lots of fun eating at this place that we ended up going there for all 3 dinners while in Juneau. Tracy 2 feels nicer and less crowded, we walked there one night and drove there the second time. Tip: they start out giving you just 2 garlic roll, but you can tell the "runners" to give you more. You can also request for 4 at time of order and they'll start you off with that. read more
Tracy's King Crab Shack #2 is everything I ever imagined about eating king crab in Alaska. It was sooo good with no lines and the best staff. When I found out I was taking a cruise to Alaska, I looked up all the best places to eat and Tracy's was at the top of the list. I knew my time would be short in Juneau, and luckily shack #2 (10 minute walk from original Tracy's) just opened for the summer. This location has outside eating with tent covering looking out to the ocean. Tammy the manager was so nice in helping us. We went to the "alternate" location, MORE than a 7 minute walk. It does have the same menu, has a very "clambake" vibe with big tents and picnic tables. Crabs were a bit pricey but because it's so rich, the 3 crab legs, battered shrimp, rolls, crab cakes and soup was enough to share with the kids and the wife. We also got some French fries on the side. Very friendly staff. I'd recommend this place for individuals who just want a consistent, good quality meal. read more
Some of the best king crab I have eaten. You order your food then sit down and it is brought to your table. A little advice, get some paper towels to hold the King crab. It will help keep your hands from getting cut. You eat at tables in a tent. They have a spot for large groups that can be reserved. We tried the crab cake roll and the crab bisque. The crab cake roll had a little bit of actual crab meat, so that was tasty. The crab cakes in the roll had mostly breading versus crab. The crab cake roll overall didn't wow me. I personally didn't like the crab bisque since it was on the sour side. There was a line when we visited, but it moved relatively quickly. read more

We walked to this second location for some crab legs are we're not disappointed!!! The manager, Fejie, gave us some advice on what to order. We did exactly as she said and the kids LOVED IT!! Plenty of benches to sit. Food was prepared fresh and efficiently. Fejie made sure to give us the best experience at Tracy's and we are definitely coming back!! Juneau was one of our stops on the Princess Cruise. And out of the 11 day cruise, the kids said this was one of the best experiences they had!! And that is saying a lot!! We came here ten years ago, and today's experience was just as good. This location is further from the ship so there's less people and its open seating inside a covered structure. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise terminal. There's little food trucks where you order your drinks, food, and pick up your meal. It helps divert the lines and also gives it kind of a trailer park / food truck park feel. We ordered the typical set of food that has a bit of everything. And, at the end of the day we were full and very happy. The crab legs were smooth, fresh, and sweet. The crab cakes were also crispy, flavorful, and scrumptious. We also enjoyed a beer with our meal. Note that the food is quite expensive and it's not only about the freshness of the food, but also the experience. It's casual and fun, and probably one of the best (yet priciest) meals you'll eat for crab legs at a restaurant. Afterwards, you can rinse your hands off and wash them at a watering station. read more
We've been to the original Tracy's, the storefront Tracy's downtown and now this one built to resemble the original, just 1/2 mile further down the pier than the original one was. Same process: order at the counter, get your drinks (alcohol and non-alcohol), find a seat and wait until they bring your meal to you. Prices have changed dramatically though! The menu is pretty varied but crab is still the main focus. Combo #1 is the leading order by far; 1.5lbs of either Red King, Dungeness, or Snow crab, 4 small crab cakes, small roll, cup Of Crab Bisque. Drinks are extra. Food arrives piping hot, right out of the steamer. The crab is wrapped in waterproof paper that drips when opened, be careful! Everything else is served in paper containers. I measure the food as crab then everything else. Crab was much smaller than the "old days" the weight measure used to mean one very large crab leg, and maybe one other smaller leg. Today's order comes with about 5-6 small legs and this is important because the smaller legs have very little meat at all so you are paying for basically empty shell. The red king is not nearly as good as the old king crab with the bright orange color. It was good, but nowhere near great. Everything else was good as expected. It is sad to see an innovator and very successful concept lower themselves to much smaller portions and sizes. I'm depressed as this will end up as my last visit as paying $250 for a meal for two served on paper, on old wooden picnic tables, is no longer an "experience" but just another money making scheme. My final point is why would you ask for a tip at the register before anyone has seen or tasted your product? That leaves the woman taking the order that punches in a half dozens numbers into a tablet. My inadvertent press of the 15% tip button cost me $30 for a ten second interaction. read more
We may be the unlucky ones, but the 3 lbs crabs legs we had were all overcooked, dried, and did not taste fresh. We were disappointed and not getting what the hype was all about. Maybe we were unlucky cus it wasn't busy when we got there so we got the leftover ones that been sitting there for a while? I would not recommend - or maybe the original store would be better. read more

Absolutely amazing!!! Our friends who had been to Juneau suggested we bypass the extremely busy Tracy's on the wharf as it gets packed when cruise ships come into town, and they were so right. #2 is the best! A 10 minute walk through town to find this amazing setting where the locals also visit for the most amazing fresh crab and great beer. We ordered too much for 2 of us but still ate it:) Suggest the following local caught crab Snow crab - more mild Golden crab - saltier and much more flavor Red crab - most balanced and maybe our favorite Chowder - just so amazing, a must Crab cakes - really fresh and tasty Also the crab cracking tool is the best and easiest we've ever used so we had to buy some as well as some great merch. People were very friendly, and service prompt. It is very fresh crab so expect to pay for it, but just awesome!! read more
We went to the original location which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the main cruise ship pier. I recommend this location for the true feel of Tracy's King Crab Shack. You will wait in line to order and then have a seat where they will bring the food to you. They will walk and call your name as well as where you are from. You still order from the original "Order Shack" which is a small 8x10 building. They still ring the bell to drop more baskets when a long crab bucket is ordered. We had beautiful weather during our visit so we sat outside. I had the crab cake roll and fries. The crab was delicious but the mini crab cakes on the roll were amazing! Everyone took care of us and the walk was well worth our lunch. I recommend going to Tracy's when in port. read more

Tracy's King Crab Shack 2 is such a gem! It's a little bit away from where all the cruise ships dock, which means way shorter lines but the exact same amazing food and experience. The crab was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite. So glad the staff pointed us to this location, because the main shack had a 2+ hour wait. If you want Tracy's famous crab without the crowd, this spot is perfect! Worth every $$ spent!! read more

Their crab cake roll is delicious and huge! They also had a special on snow pops so we order some and enjoyed them very much! It gets packed so it's nice to have them call out your name and then bring you the food. It keeps things less congested. The wait is short and the food is great. read more

First time in Juneau and like so many visitors, we came off the cruise ships looking for that very special meal that makes our visit to Alaska worth it. Just a stroll from the main cruise ship dock running along Whittier Road, and past the Coast Guard Building, is Tracy's King Crab - Shack 2. The dirt parking lot and rustic crab shacks gives this location an off the beaten path feel. Like the shrimp trunks in the North Shore of Oahu, this location is grounded in the food and supported by a beautiful backdrop. Ours surroundings are the towering mountains of Juneau touching the edge of the sea. Tracy's lets you know you have found the right place to be. Our large family got caught up in a very powerful gusty rainstorm. Soaked, wet and hungry, our family of picky eaters were ready to be nourished with an Alaskan King Crab experience. We all ordered the #1 Crab shop combo which not only included 1 pound of crab but a nice hot bowl of crab bisque and mini crab cakes. The big question, which crab to choose, "Red or Golden?" "Red's better", said the friendly woman who took our order. Come to find out, most restaurants have Golden which is the smaller species, so we went all in on the Red Alaskan. She asked us our names and where we lived to help identify our individual orders. When our orders were up, you could hear our names being called and all the cities from which we came- Hilo, Denver, Los Angeles. One thing's for sure, we were all in one place, Tracy's Shack 2 ready to taste some freshly steamed Red King Crab in Juneau. Our 1 pound of Red King Crab was delivered to us in a roll of butcher paper. I unwrapped it like it was Christmas time, and there in front of me were the largest crab legs I have ever seen. The merus section, made up of the meaty top portion of the legs and shoulders, just slipped out of the shell upon lightly cracking it with the provided crab saw tool. Piping hot and steaming, the meat screamed of natural flavor. I just savored each moist bite, no sauce or butter needed. Our family commented that we are so used to digging around with a fork to get the crab meat still stuck to the shell. Not Tracy's, the whole piece of meat slipped out of the shell, it was a revelation. Many restaurants serve crab overly salted but not at Tracy's, as Chef Nate pointed out, "I cook it as God intended. I don't mess with the recipe." I did try a portion of my last leg with the butter sauce, and it was even more rich and sweet, but truthfully, for my taste, the inherent flavor was all that was needed. I'm with Chef Nate on that one. I was in King Crab heaven. On the menu at Tracy's were also outstanding items. One of our family favorites was the King Crab Bisque over rice. For folks who love their white rice, who could have imagined this cream-based bisque perfectly highlighting the main star, Alaskan King Crab. It had depth of flavor and was ever so good. That was Juneau comfort food, warming us up from our recent Alaskan flash storm like a nurturing blanket. And for those who love an excellent Crab Cake Roll sandwich, Tracy's is quite unique with mini crab cakes at the bottom of the roll, topped with fresh crab meat and a light coleslaw that can be enhanced with their spicy red sauce. This crab cake roll tops any crab sandwich I have ever had in the lower 48. At the end of our meal, I said, "Are you the manager here?" He looked at me bracing to hear a harsh complaint about my meal, but I extended out my hand to shake his and said, "Eating your King Crab today was a life changing experience!" Manager Jeremy thanked us for coming and walked me over to meet Chef Nate and the guys steaming the crabs. When you have a hungry family and all you hear is the cracking of crab shells and enthusiastic nods and one word reactions like, "wow," over and over, then you know this meal is one for the books. Eating Red King Crabs are an absolutely, life changing experience. And I would not leave Juneau without making a stop at Tracy's King Crab - Shack 2. They know how to do it right! And their Shack 2 location's crew under the leadership of Chef Nate and Manager Jeremy, satisfied all our Hawaii cousins who really know their fresh seafood. Our meal at Tracy's Shack 2 was our best of our Alaska trip and we'll be talking story about Tracy's until we all return for another crab eating life changing experience. read more
This is definitely a tourist spot! It's right on the pier where the cruise ships dock. Pretty impressive, too, with the large pots of giant king crab legs steaming. They actually have two locations. The 2nd one is about a mile away from the first one. That's the one we went to. It was less crowded and not as noisy. Plus we felt like taking a walk. The crab is pricey! My friend and I split the #1 Crab Shack Combo for $85. It included a small crab bisque, warm garlic rolls, 4 mini crab cakes and 14oz. of king crab. There was plenty to split. We each also got a glass of wine. The crab legs were meaty and delicious! The rest of the dishes were very disappointing. The crab cakes were little deep fried medallions with little to no crab. The crab bisque was served, at most, lukewarm. We flagged down someone and asked if we could have it heated up. Ten minutes later we still didn't have our chowder back. The employee said that something was broken so they were having trouble heating it up. We finally received it and it was very underwhelming. It was a thick, light red creamy broth, but just didn't have the flavor. There were a few nice chunks of crab in it. The garlic rolls were the basic store bought rolls brushed with a little garlic butter on top. They were dry; definitely nothing special. I'm glad we tried the restaurant. The crab was delicious. The other items disappointing. Now I can say that I had crab in Alaska. read more
