I was looking for Scott's seed and to my amazement I was informed that they have seed formulated for our area. Wait ... what? 1st: I've never heard of such. 2nd: Where have you been all of my life (well atleast my adult homeowner life)? I explained to the young lady what my issue was in my yard and purchased the seed she recommended and a bale of hay. The young lady was extremely nice and explained the different variations to me as well prior to purchase. Value: well $3.99/lb was a bit pricey when I can get a 10 pound bag of Scott's for $11.99 at Ace Hardware. I am keeping in mind several things: This is a Mom & Pop shop (support of locally owned businesses), the seeds by Scott's are mass produced (made for any and all areas) and lastly this seed is "supposed" to produced for Indiana (that's got to be good, right). So with all of that being stated of course I'm taking the plunge and if it works I'll definitely be back. I'm really excited about it and hoping to see those bare spots in my yard fill in. Fingers crossed.

The good thing is Tractor Supply is Pet friendly which made our visit quick after many other errands we ran on a Saturday. We need a pesticide that wasn't the usual brand and didn't do its job well (our experience so far) so a lot of our friends recommended tractor supply. We got the right recommendation and we also ended grabbing some more stuff for our lawn. All in all a good neighborhood dog friendly store!

A great place to get pet food, livestock food,hay,straw,fencing,and even refill your propane tanks. Refilling them is way cost savvy compared to just trading them in. If they don't have something you are looking for, just ask, they will be able to tell you if they can order it or not. We go here every week during winter, sometimes more,to get our propane tanks filled, and we are always treated wonderfully. We also buy some great looking straw and awesome looking grass hay. Their grass hay has no horse nettle in it (I did find 1 bale with a couple of plants in it though). If I get hay anywhere else,I have to throw half or more away because of the horse nettle, it's extremely poisonous and will kill your animals.

My Cub Cadet mower needed some specific parts and I'd shopped online for prices. Finally, one of the wheels broke off and I needed parts ASAP. I called around a few places and was told they'd have to special order them but was referred to Plainfield Equipment. I called them and they informed me they had the parts in stock and CHEAPER than the other three places I'd called and CHEAPER than the parts I'd found online. They had a lot of Cub Cadet and Stihl parts and equipment and the staff was friendly enough for the kind of business. The store was clean inside.

Silvery Valley Farm is an awesome farm located in Crawfordsville, IN! Wendy and her husband raise…read moresheep and chickens, grow produce and flowers, and make artisanal products such as soap, lotion, lip balm, and yarn! Her lamb and eggs are available through Four Seasons Local Market (open Thursday-Saturday), and there is nothing like local, well-raised meat and eggs. She also recently added wool ball diffusers you can use as car air fresheners -- I love getting in my car and smelling the lovely lavender scent! Other wool products from her sheep include dyed yarn and wool balls you can use in your dryer instead of dryer sheets! AND she makes wonderful soap in a variety of scents -- as well as lip balm and lotions. They make the perfect gifts! We had the opportunity to visit her farm last year during lambing season, and even got to help feed a few of the new lambs! They have a beautiful property and it was so fun to see her well-tended flock.
