My energetic doodle suffered damage under Alexander's care. He spoke about what a bad dog she was and put her on a list so she can't be booked on line. She came back with bruised and swollen ear tips, a wonky cut and no nail trim etc. she was also scared of my husband who is her best buddy. The store refunded and said they reviewed video with no evidence of wrongdoing. I just took her to a different groomer who told me Alexander has been named in such things previously. My dog is wiggly and energetic. I don't expect perfection, but the expectation to not be traumatized is bare minimum. read more

Took my standard poodle for bath and haircut. For the price, they did a pretty good job. I will take her back! Gia is super easy on the table so that helps. I have to admit that my normal groomer is OUTSTANDING but very expensive. With most things, you get what you pay for. read more

Evidently when your pet doesn't like the blow dryer and tries to turn away that's what they call a "disabled" animal and "if the pet can't stand perfectly still for the appointment" they can't fully service them. You ain't at Westminster, lady. Who cares if our pet is a bit wet in spots after a bath?! Well, the manager there did and kicked us out. She literally blocked my phone when I called back to request my usual groomer who never made a fuss since the manager couldn't seem to understand that we don't care about if they're not fully dry. They refused to take a return because they needed a receipt. Apparently they can't look up a purchase from the card, like every other company in existence. For some reason they ask you if you want your receipt without telling you that you can't do a return without it. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING! We took our chocolate lab here for a bath and nails trim. First of all the lady said that it would take 2-3 hrs, which initially raised a red flag. She called us after an hr and 30 mins saying he was ready to be picked up. We get there, she then explains how our dog needs to be on a sedate because he was basically "too hyper". She was only able to get 2 nails cut and he was still wet after his bath. ABSOLUTELY ridiculous! Our dog usually is very well behaved during baths at least. I believe Pet Smart needs to get a whole new grooming staff, that is actually trained to groom dogs. We will NOT be back! read more

This large warehouse is pet friendly and has plenty of room in the aisles to let you browse for your pet needs. They also have a mini pet hospital, grooming area, and adoption center inside the store, but I haven't used those. I have spent time looking through the wide variety of options they have for toys, healthy snacks, and items meant to make my pet's life better. Note that they often let animal rescues to set up inside the store or on the large sidewalk/parking lot out front. I won't get into the debate about where the pets come from...every pet should have a home. I've seen lots of mutts available here, so I have a good feeling about it. On my last visit, there were a number of greyhounds that were needing homes. Overall, when I am in the area, I like to stop by and see if there is something I can pick up for my two dogs. Took our puppy there. She loves going to get her haircut. When I picked her up, they had completely shaved her almost down to the skin which screws up our Christmas photos we had scheduled for the weekend. They gave her none of the "Christmas Spa Treatment" that was advertised and paid for. They cut her eyebrow and it looks awful. She was so skittish when we picked her up and cried all night. I am displeased. Only positive is they said they'll process a refund since I prepaid but I'll never go back there. I'm so disappointed how she was treated and I hope they take a hard look at their grooming salon. read more

We went in to look at the cat adoptions as me and my boyfriend do this frequently to look at the kitties available. This PetSmart had one of the most disgusting adoption sections I have ever seen. You can clearly tell that no one takes care of the poor babies in there. Their litter boxes were full and disgusting and smelt like it had been weeks since they were even scooped let alone changed. Then I notice this cat that is breathing heavy, just laying on the ground, barely has his eyes open (but open), won't respond to touch or won't left his head. His I'm assuming brother was also in there with him and he would try and play with him and he would just lay there unresponsive. So we went and told someone at the attached animal hospital (Banfield) and they were extremely rude and did not care at all. I wrote them their own separate review. The employee that came over wearing a PetSmart Adoptions shirt told us that they didn't know what to do because they don't have the keys to access the cages these babies were in (um what?). Then another I'm assuming "leader" of the store comes over, looks at the cat, goes and gets a key (ok good, but why doesn't your own employee of that department know you have that?), picks up the cat, put him like a baby in her arms for maybe 10 seconds tops, then puts him back in the cage and says to "try" and call the shelter that he's from to another employee. Doesn't say a word to us as we're standing there clearly concerned for this cat and then just walks away unbothered with no sense of urgency in her voice. I feel so horribly for that little baby I almost took him from them and drove him to an actual hospital because I left there with no sense of comfort that they cared AT ALL about this cat. There was zero reassurance that they would do what they can for him. The ATTACHED animal hospital INSIDE petsmart did not care about him either. I hope he ends up ok. He's a 4 year old Siamese that was surrendered from his owner that went into senior living. The animal shelter he's from was called Creekside I believe. We did call them on our own as well because I did not trust that petsmart would. It's out of our hands now but I hope these people get new jobs that don't involve innocent animals that rely on humans for care. Disgusting behavior. read more

I'm in here OFTEN and spend a lot in this store, I bought 10 fancy shrimp and 2 died so I called the store and they told me to come in and get a replacement and I asked if they needed the dead ones and she said no so I go in and the mgr says no can't replace them I need to bring in dead ones and I explained I was told by phone I didn't need to do that. She didn't care and they wouldn't replace them. If she'd bothered to look up my account I spend lots at this store and never ask for any replace of anything. Grooming- I cannot give them a real rating because I never got to see what my dogs looked like AFTER their appointments. I was told to bring my dogs shot records, which I did, the vets office scanned them to me. They were UNACCEPTABLE because the vet did not sign them, but they were sent on the vet's letterhead. Oh, and the notations were handwritten, (also UNACCEPTABLE) I guess that's how my vet's office does it - on the outside of the file and didn't sign the file?? And apparently, the best part, my vet did not send the sticker from the outside of the medicine bottles on the file. So would I like to reschedule? Um. . . Made the grooming appointment for my dog two weeks ago. Asked if his rabies vaccination was still good and was told I was fine through the end of the month. No one has contacted me over the last two weeks. I planned my whole day today around my dog's appointment. We walk in and the groomer looks down her nose at my dogs and informs me that she cannot groom the one because his rabies expired YESTERDAY. I told her I had been told I was fine through the end of the month and she said there was nothing she could do. My previous groomer there would've called me during the two weeks prior if the vaccination had needed done prior. Not very professional or considerate. We will not return. read more

My son has two leopard geckos and we always go to PetSmart to get their crickets. The staff is always helpful and willing to answer any question you may have. Recently, they have moved the station to get the crickets to the front and have even installed a button to call someone for help. This has definitely made the experience of getting crickets faster and more convenient! This Petsmart is pretty good! They're definitely overpriced on a lot of items. I also bought an expensive aquarium stand from here that ended up being cheap wood and definitely would never hold 1,000 lb tank, but that's what I get for trusting a corporate pet store. However this specific location is always clean (never see any pet accidents, or rarely dead fish), the employees are always very friendly, and the cats they have from Creekside (local shelter) are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE. First time here to get my dogs nails trimmed. After cutting them ourselves for the first few months we've become a bit nervous about cutting too much and getting the quick since his nails are black. The grooming facility was somewhat busy but everyone there was super friendly and the place was very clean. Arnie was able to get in right away and no more than 10 minutes later he was ready! His nails look great and the staff go out of their way to comfort the dogs if they are nervous. For puppies it's only $6 and the price goes to $12 at 6 months. Not bad at all! read more

I usually come here and spend $200-800 biweekly on my dogs food the a**h*** who worked tonight right before closing on 5/29/22 kept rushing me out I asked him to get me cases from the top shelf I couldn't reach and he said no where closed .. shitty ass service I use to love this pet store til today he needs to find a job he's happy at and welcome customers I was in the store 5 min before you close you should assist me if all I need is three cases you didn't put on the shelf's for customers to get for being a lazy ass. Excellent for dog grooming! Although PetSmart salon services aren't cheap, I repeatedly brought my dog to see Savanna (who is also the salon manager) for his quarterly grooms. She was wonderful with my senior aged Shih-Tzu mix. She always had him done on-time or earlier and AJ really enjoyed her. Sadly, we've moved from the Plainfield area. Savanna is a diamond in the rough. Highly recommend her; especially for small dogs. If her staff is as great as she is, I recommend all of them. I also suggest making a weekday appointment, as they are slammed on the weekends. read more

I am disappointed that they don't carry Taste of the Wild dog food, however. There always seems to be something going on here. Whether it be a dog training class, an adoption event, or some other event that they have helped put together. I especially love that they have adorable, adoptable, homeless kittens and cats. Such a disappointing and terrible experience. We will never step foot in Petsmart again. Brought my dogs in for nail trimming and apparently when they take your information regarding vaccinations they only pretend to put it in their computer system and then refuse you service when you come back because they were inept and didn't do their job in the first place. Had no records for my dog that was just their 2 weeks before because whomever put the info into the system more than likely typed my phone number in wrong so they couldn't find her. Then proceeded to tell me that when they do the first nail trimming free for a new puppy they don't enter the puppy into the system. I find that hard to believe since how would they know if they gave me a free one already. We could just keep coming back and coming back and claiming we have never been there. But it was interesting that when I brought her in 2 weeks before the clerk took all her information and my info and her vaccine records that I brought in at that time. My other dog they had out of date vaccine info on her. What really set me off was when the stupid clerk asked me if I was sure that was my phone number. Like I don't know my own damn phone number! They had just called my vet in December and verified she had just her vaccines for the year and a 3 year rabies shot. Her shots were current and never updated their system to reflect that. I drive 30 minutes to get my dogs nail trimmed and come to find out they never put the info in the system. Then the one cashier said "well we do have new computer systems". So that again becomes my problem. I really think that they were already cleaning up the shop at 7:30 and just didn't want to work anymore. We will find another place to go before I would ever go back into that grooming salon again. read more
