I, my friend and her daughter went to this store, as we usually do to by wood chips for our, long hair Peruvian Guinea Pigs. I sat in the car as they both went to buy a bail. The daughter came running to the car and told me Monica slipped and fell. I of course ran to help. I had daughter go into the store to get help. Daughter came out and said they ignored her. She asked for a chair so we could assess any problems and get her off the ground. She was told, "we don't have any chairs" quite curtly. Really, you don't have a break room or office?" Time went by and three customers asked if we needed help. One customer ran to his car and offered us his brand new first aid kit. We needed bandaids. While this was going on a man wearing their company vest went in and out of the store several times and pain stakingly avoided our calls and glanced away. I went into the store at this point and told the completely emotionless cashier who was in her 40's or 50's we needed help in the way of a chair and we wanted an incident report written. The cashier, without one word of concern pointed to the young woman who was on the phone talking about dog food. She was in no hurry to help. She finally made it over to me and handed me a folding chair. Gee I thought they didn't have any chairs. I took the chair, she was in no hurry to help and I told her I wanted this incident written up. She finally came outside and wanted to see the damage. Monica's toe was bleeding, she knocked a chunk out of her knee and had landed on the side of her face before coming to a halt. She had skidded about 5 feet. Monica is 75 and a fall like this could have been disastrous. We pointed out to the, "assistant manager" the sidewalk was separated from the curb and she caught her foot on the lip. The report was written and we left. Here is why I am angry with this store; at no time did any employee show an ounce of compassion. Not one asked if Monica was okay. They never offered to help quite the contrary. The next day a rep from their insurance called asking questions to try to cover their butts. Monica has good insurance and I'm sure these craven idiots feared she might sue but it was not about that, we just needed a little caring and help. This store showed complete indifference to a fellow human. I don't spend much money there but that is not the point. From now on we will go to the Tractor Supply on State Road 54. I am asking others who read this do the same. Bad behavior by three employees cannot be overlooked. read more
