Here in the Port Richey area we've seen many good stores close. Among those we have lost are Macy's, JCPenney, Boston Market, Circuit City, Sweet Tomatoes, Staples, Sweetbay grocery stores, Albertsons, RadioShack, Tuesday Mornings, Target, Godfathers Pizza (they were in the Hess Stations)... Dillard's is the last decent store we have in this area. For cosmetics I would steer people to the Dillard's cosmetics department without hesitation or reservations (Sophie at the Clinique counter is a fine example of a knowledgeable employee). The other area of the store that I shop would be upstairs in China. I dealt with Catrina and she went above and beyond to ensure that my 2016 collectors plate was ordered and received in pristine condition. in the past I have used other Dillard's and also had things mailed to my home never received broken. Due to my job being deployed by the time I arrived home it was by far too late to return it and it was also too late to get another one due to the fact that they are manufactured in limited edition. so a special day of thanks to Catrina for her actions. read more

Gulfview Square Mall is not what it used to be and this Anchor Store is... while nice, not an amazing experience. I went mainly to go to the semi-annual sale, to see what bras they had available in their 65% off area. There were a few that were available in my size, but not nearly as many as there were at International plaza. I suppose that is par for the course, given the area. The store was neat and clean, there were plenty of items for sale, plenty of high end merchandise on display, but not many folks shopping. The Lingerie department was neat, well stocked and carried a majority of the same stock as the larger format stores, so I can't complain. All in all it was a solid experience. read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at Dillard's. This is the only store that carries better clothing and goods in this area. Customer service/sales personnel are always very friendly and helpful. Nicole and her associate at the Lancome cosmetic counter are the best I've ever encountered. I've been very concerned about this Dillards staying at this location with the closure of many of the stores especially the other anchor sites. Please shop at Dillards so we don't lose them also!!! read more

The last weekend of February a friend of mine, Dave, took me out to get an outfit for my upcoming interview. We went into the local Dillard's at the Gulf View mall here in Port Richey and he told me not to worry about price, just find something that was going to work. We walked directly to the women's pants areas and he hung out with me for minute then told me he was going to go do some shopping and to call him when I was done. While he was saying this I was looking across the way and a security guard was watching us. Remember, this is right when we walked in the store. We separated and I didn't think anything more of the security guard. He wasn't around where I was, so, out of sight out of mind, right? I had a saleslady helping me out, so I was able to find an awesome outfit and called Dave over to give me his opinion. Well, when I walked out of the dressing room I found out why I hadn't seen the security guard anymore. After leaving me, Dave had walked over to get a throw away watch to get him through until he could find someone that carried the brand he wanted. He paid for his throw away watch at the jewelry counter. He then went over and was looking at some jeans for an upcoming trip and picked up three pairs. The entire time he was doing his shopping, the security guard was following him. From jewelry, to the fitting room, through the men's department.... Everywhere he went, this guard was right there with him. And this wasn't some short amount of time. This was literally over an hour, possibly close to two judging by the time stamps on two calls I made while trying on clothes. You are probably wondering what Dave did to make this security guard so suspicious. Here is my guess: Dave was in a t-shirt and older cargos with one of his tattoos showing on his arm. He didn't look like the other people in the store. He looked too "poor" to be able to afford the stuff in that store. Back to my story: When I walked out, Dave had finally confronted the security guard and asked what he had done to cause the security guard to follow him. I'm sitting there watching this guy's reactions and he is just smirking away. This was extremely amusing to him in some way. When one of the managers came over, the security guard said that the other manager had called him to watch this guy that was suspicious. Whoops on his part. That manager didn't, she was the one that cashed out the watch purchase, and even said she didn't contact him. So then he switched it up to an associate called him. He was finally losing his big old grin at this point. It was about now that I changed out of the clothes (no way we were buying there) and Dave returned his watch. I looked the manager dead in the eye and told her that the guard had pegged Dave the moment he saw the two of us in the women's section and he should just man up and admit it. They lost a good customer that day, all due to one man's stereotyping and a very poor apology (without ever receiving one from the guy on a power trip). Not so much in me, because that isn't a store that I frequent often and when I do, I go on a strict budget. Dave on the other hand... He has significant financial means, but why should he have to dress like it to receive respect from a security guard? Personally, I know I will never be going back to any Dillard's. If a store/corporation allows their security guards to actively engage in stereotyping, I have no interest in spending any money there. I think there is way more than enough hatred and bigotry in this world and I have no interest in supporting it. read more

The employees at this store were super helpful and very friendly. I loved shopping here, as I was looking for suits to wear to work, and since it is Florida, and I am from Michigan, the stuff for MI weather was WAY marked down and not picked through! Yay! I should shop in Florida more often. Anyway, great deals and selection at this store. It was kind of annoying the way the store was set up by "brands" instead of "style". Like, I had to walk to various parts of the store to find suits. But, all in all, I would highly recommendd this location. read more
