I don't know what this Jod L is talking about but I suspect he/she works for other rescues. We…read moreadopted out white fluffy dog from YVAS and I can't say one negative thing about the experience. However the guy who adopted her the day before and brought her back because of a "family emergency" is low on my people list. We were given a BIG bag of dog food to feed our dog even though we told them we didn't need it. They even let us know that she had food allergies so we needed to be careful of what type of dog food we fed her.

As someone who has supported Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter (YVAS) for decades, I've had a…read morefront-row seat to their incredible growth and transformation. While some older reviews reflect a time when the shelter was under different leadership and struggling with management and outdated practices, the YVAS of today is an entirely different organization--one that the Billings community should be proud to have. YVAS has evolved into a professional, compassionate, and highly efficient operation. Their length of stay for animals is impressively short--far below the national average--which speaks volumes about their dedication to finding loving homes quickly and responsibly. This is not a shelter that warehouses animals or euthanizes for space; this is a shelter that works for every single life. What's even more remarkable is that they do all of this with very little funding from city and county contracts, yet they operate a million-dollar-plus organization with integrity, transparency, and heart. Most of the leadership team has been there for nearly a decade (or longer!) and many of them hold nationally recognized certifications in animal care and shelter management. Their experience shows--in the way they care for the animals, train their staff, and educate the public. If you've read negative reviews from the past or from individuals who may not fully understand how shelters operate, I encourage you to take a second look. YVAS is not only one of the best-run shelters in Montana, but I would argue they're one of the best in the region. Their commitment to animal welfare is unmatched, and the lives they've saved over the years tell the real story.

I shop at this store quite often. Previously the kitchen organizer containers area was an area you…read morehad to dig through to see if you could locate what you're looking for. Today I walked in that same section and someone definitely focused on organizing that area. You can see everything without having to move things around. Even like colors are grouped together. So much easier to find what you're looking for. Towel section is also very organized. So much better. Each time I check out the cashiers are always friendly and helpful.

Five stars for the store/employees... Zero stars for the uppity weirdos who shop there. I don't go…read moreto TJ Maxx a whole lot, because it's honestly crowded to all Hell most of the time, and a lot of their stuff is overpriced...considering it's just overrun product. Anyways, every time I've gone here, I'm usually dressed pretty casually. This isn't Sak's Fifth Avenue, people... Get over yourselves. This store is full of Billings' snootiest characters I've seen in a long time. From the better-than-you, stay-at-home Pinterest mom to the overtly athletic women smelling candles for five hours, you won't be disappointed in having your self-esteem checked a few hundred times as the other shoppers look at your dressed-like-a-normal-human-being attire and roll their eyes. Basically, if you dislike other people, just keep your head down other than to say "Sorry" a few times as you both try to squeeze your carts and bodies in the tiny aisles. As for the employees, they're really nice and helpful, talkative, prompt, and good workers. They were nice and courteous, and even in my casual athletic attire (read: too lazy to find a matching outfit), they were never rude at all. Their customers are the crab apples, and I feel sorry for the employees having to put up with it. Haha
