Oh, Ross... It's hit-or-miss with any retail store, but the Ross in Billings, MT takes the cake for poor service. The employees are extremely rude every time I go in, and incredibly unhelpful; especially at the fitting room. Last time I went in, I was wanting to try on a set of bras, and I got into the fitting room to realize they were attached together with a security clip that would blast ink all over them if you took the clip off...yet, it was literally impossible to try either of them on, because of the way someone hooked them together with the ink clip. I went out to the fitting room lady and explained the issue to her, nicely. She looked at them, and then just shrugged and said, "Yeah, you'll have to go up front so they can unhook them..." like she could really care less. I didn't even bother. I just left them with her, which is really unlike me, since I've worked retail before and always put stuff back I've tried on. Today, I went in again, looking for sheets and leggings. I found some sheets I liked, but once again, whoever puts the security ink clips on their product has a knack for making it impossible to ascertain whether or not you actually want the product you're looking at, and clips the items as if the Dead Sea Scrolls themselves we're inside them, being protected. Give me a break; most of the crap Ross sells wholesales for maybe a buck five-o. The sheets were in plastic zipped bags, as usual...with the zipper zipped all the way shut, and the ink clip secured to the zip tag and the bag, making it literally impossible to even wriggle a finger in the package to feel the sheets. So I didn't even bother looking at the rest, seeing as how they were all clipped the same. I then went to look at leggings, and found two pairs I liked, and headed to the dressing rooms. I get that they have an anti-theft policy, where the customer has to hang the clothes on the rack while the dressing room attendant counts them for themselves to assure the correct amount is being taken in, and nothing else. But...I had two pairs of LEGGINGS, and this dressing room attendant inspected them carefully like I was sneaking something in... in LEGGINGS. Literally the last thing you could hide anything in. She wasn't nice or polite at all, and had the personality of Disgruntled Employee of the Month. I didn't buy either pair of leggings, and put them back myself, and left. The whole store was jam-packed with Christmas crap, and it was all just that: crap. I couldn't even find anything my THREE year-old would want, and toddlers like anything. It was like their "desperate shopper truck" came and dumped off anything and everything; regardless of whether or not people actually want to buy it. It was just pure junk in there, and extremely dissatisfying. I also was looking for a simple hoodie, either Puma, Under Armor, etc. Nope...all ugly, as well, and cheap. Ross definitely goes waaaay downhill in products during the holidays, but you can usually rely on their customer service to be poop throughout the year .... So, at least that's consistent, I guess. Won't be going back any time soon. read more
