I came here to try out the DIY Pet Wash station when I realized that my normal groomer was all out of availability until after Christmas and my dogs were getting a little too smelly to visit with our holiday guests lol! (To my knowledge, the only location in Bakersfield that offers the pet wash is the Colony location, but it was well worth the cross town drive!) The pet wash station is a small room located at the back of the store; it does have a door that closes in case you have a runner. It only costs $9.99 and you can use as much product as you need to get the job done! There are two nice, big metal tubs with fully adjustable water temps and pressures, two full size dog blow dryers, a cabinet full of different brushes, towels, etc. They also have waterproof aprons you can wear to keep your self dry and various sized collars you can use to hold your dog so their collars stay dry! I have tried other self-serve pet washes, but I believe the value is much better at Tractor Supply. You have free access to the soaps, and they are not watered down like they are at similar businesses. Plus, that closing door I mentioned before is amazing. My Queensland is a bit of a runner in stressful situations and he is not fond of strange dogs, so being able to close that door came in handy to keep him safe, contained, and away from strange dogs that might have otherwise approached him. They sold me sick ducklings at this location, when I got there, I didn't get to pick they didn't even let me pick out the ducklings so I just noticed when I got home both of the eyes were infected. Called to see if there's anything they can do and the manager told me the only thing they can do is give me a refund if I send them a picture of it deceased. Terrible service I would advise by ducks or chicks from somewhere else not this location. read more

When I had pet bunnies I shopped here so much! If you have pet rabbits save yourself some money and pickup some horse stall pellets for litter (about $5 for a huge bag) then top with hay and to save money on Timothy hay, go to the back of the store and buy the compressed bundle of Timothy hay. It will last a VERY long time and cost a LOT less than those little bags at the pet store for the same thing! read more

I didn't know about this store! I needed some treats for a chicken friend thats been visiting my yard and the man that helped me today was so friendly and helpful!! He even helped put the heavy sacks in my cart. I should have caught his name. I also needed catfood and they have a great selection with nice prices. My son and i just love this place we recently discovered it during the quarantine as all the crazies were packing the regular stores and i was like oh hell no LOL...My son loves to grill, smoke etc which i know he's not a normal 16 year old hahahah but hey he's mine i guess i've just created one awesome kid huh? So he gets the hard wood, wood chips, natural charcoal etc from here along with some other interesting things...Sometimes i'll just send him in for whatever he needs and he always comes out with some extra "cool stuff we needed mom" hahahaha Anyway all the staff is super nice and helpful it's not intimidating and a super chill environment. Prices are a little high on some stuff and pretty competitive on others literally the same as the big stores but a nicer calmer experience. read more

I've had a few experiences at different locations, california in norco and in Barstow the customer service CANNOT be any better, everyone is so helpful and so nice and do their best to help customers. I had 5 people come up to me within a ten minute period of time asking if they could help me!!! I was up on Kent Washington and the service could not be worse, nobody wanted to be bothered at all they just said they don't know when asked or another one just pointed and said I think it's over there! Good lord. I think it all comes down to management and leadership, so the Kent location manager ought to be fired, just sayin. Overall decent store, came in to grab a few things and had to drop the kids off at the Super Bowl after a healthy dinner if you know what I mean, went into the restroom and it looks like it hasn't been cleaned at all so here I am using my superior leg muscles to hover over the porcelain throne. Cleaning definitely needs to be a priority in the men's sanctuary! Update: As I'm wrapping things up I went to wash my hands as every man should and noticed the soap on the side of the sink because the dispenser is broken, I washed my hands to find no paper towels and a broken air dryer, thankfully outside of the restrooms the fuzzy dog beds were conveniently placed for a quick hand dry. read more

The manager patti is rude af, I went to her because the tool we needed was missing a part to it, package was open. But that was the only told they had left of that kind. And I asked her for a discount she claimed that there was nothing missing from the tool. We proved it to the cashier, and the cashier gave us a percentage off of the tool. She decided to go but in all of a sudden and started telling us stuff that she can't sell the tool because she has to prove that it's missing a part. Cashier had already gave us a discount we were ready to pay, and then she started threatening to kick us out and change the percentage only to 10% because she said she wanted to.. unnecessary drama, and comments from management. At the end of the day we walked out without purchasing it after being promised a percentage off. I just moved out here and last week I arrived to tractor at around 7:20pm and they closed at 8:00pm. Once I was walking to the entrance an employee talking to another employee in a t truck, stopped me and said weee closed, but it wasn't 8pm. Sad if we found out they were closing there store before the hour it says they are closed. I let that night slide and said I'll come back, we'll I went today and let me tell you this store is a mess, it was clustered and messy in the clothing department. I don't mind nobody asking if I needed anything, what bothered me was the cashier, no smile, greet or didn't even ask if I found everything okay. The energy was so low, he didn't ask phone number for rewards and when I got my change back, didn't get a bag for my shirt he was very mellow. I can do mellow, but not for customer service. Workplace is way different then being mellow out of work, maybe stock instead of being out somewhere with customer service. I usually don't do this but I am really annoyed from that day they closed before the closing time and service today. I do this to hopefully bring attention to the store to become better and not to judge or throw anyone under the bus. Just please as customers I'm sure not just me but everyone would appreciate it. This place is always clean! Staff is friendly I love that this location opened up and I do t have to drive across town!! my only complaint would be the dog wash. Last time I went in it was COVERD with hair. People need to clean up after themselves at least the bulk of it but come on the water wouldn't even go down in the tubs I had to take my dog back out of the tub to clear it and the tubs looked like they weren't cleaned in a week. read more

I went online and purchased a gun safe for pickup at this location. I rented a UHAUL trailer and a dolly as the thing weighs 600lbs. When I got to tractor supply they told me that a damaged floor model was the only one available. They were only willing to reduce the price by 5%. I told them this was unacceptable because I ordered a new undamaged, unused safe. The manager pretty much told me to FOAD. After wasting 2 hours of my morning and $35 dollars for the trailer rental, I have nothing to show for it. This is not the experience I'm accustomed to having with Tractor Supply or even a Walmart for that matter. Very disappointing. read more

Just returned from the Pet wash station @ this store.One of my 3 Boxers realy needed a bath.4 different canine shampoo/soap to choose from,lots of clean towels,very nice bathing,drying/vacum station..............all this for only $9.99!!!!I I've ultilized other pet self service in town at almost twice the cost, they pale in comparison.Also I am sold on the house brand of Dog food...premium ingredients,no corn or soy for fair price.
