Dog Injured At Pet Smart Boarding…read more We took our sweet puppies Princess and Sparkle to be boarded at Pet Smart over the weekend. At or about Sunday, October 17, 2021, Pet Smart began bombarding my wife with calls from morning to afternoon. We learned that something happened to Sparkle's leg, but mysteriously no one knew what happened. At first we were told that there was an injury to Princess, but we were then told that it was Sparkle. We were told that Sparkle would be taken to a Vet. When Princess and Sparkle were picked up this afternoon, she came home with a dog cone around her neck and a STAPLE in her CUT leg. I don't care if we were not charged for boarding and the Vet fee was free as a result, this is downright negligence. I would really like to know what the hell happened to my dog's CUT leg, because I have a hard time believing that no one knows. The question becomes, what would the very likely trail of blood tell you on the floor near wherever the mysterious injury occurred. There had to be blood near where the injury occurred. My issue is, just be honest and tell the truth. Don't make stuff up, especially when my dog comes home with a STAPLE in her CUT leg. It's dishonest and I will not be taking my dogs back here again. I recommend that no one brings their dogs to board here. I would give this place 0 starts for the experience if I could. My dog is traumatized!

I brought this to the attention of the clerk and he also called the owner by phone. I wanted the lower ticketed price. He refused stating it was not the price in the computer. The owner refused because it was stated "they changed the prices by hand and it was a mistake." I stated "this was not my fault." I wanted the item for the price ON THE TICKET. The clerk argued with me and stated other retail stores would agree with their position. I stated to the contrary, I too was a former store owner and if this situation was in my store I would have to give the customer the lower ticketed price. The clerk stated (in front of another customer I might add) "I rest my case." You USE to own a store. Before exiting the store I stated "it was a shame that they were willing to lose a repeat customer over a dollar!" To add insult to injury, the clerk degraded a customer in front of another customer. Believe me, I will tell everybody I know the poor customer service I received and I would never recommend them! All over a dollar, I hope that sale was worth it!

They called to let me know when everything would be delivered so that was great as well. The cow ears arrived as expected and the staff safely managed to bring me the order during a time where I couldn't go out to get it myself. Highly recommend.

They give you a pathetic scripted history about petland with scripted details about the animal you're asking about followed by "let me put you on hold to ask my manager". The main goal with phone inquiries is to get you into the store, period. You'll hang up with an appointment you didn't really want and an open ended price on the pet you're looking into. Find a credible breeder if you're really interested and don't waste your time here.

I have been reading heartbreaking stories on Nextdoor of families who purchased pets from Petland…read moreand had their hearts broken when the animal died of renal failure or distemper within a short period of time. They are claiming that Petland sources its animals from puppy mills, and their veterinarians clear the animals despite the fact that they are not healthy. Please do your research and ask appropriate questions before buying from Petland. Better yet, reach out to a rescue group--their goal is to provide happy homes to animals in need and not to just sell them as merchandise.
