My dog didn't actually stay here because our trip got cancelled, but the customer service was phenomenal!

We love Camp Bow Wow. They take really good care of our dog. They know all of the dogs that come there for doggy daycare and for boarding.

I would not recommend Camp Bow Wow to anyone. We were only interested in using this doggy day care when in town, as we are from out of town but are here often to visit. Camp Bow Wow has a 3 hour interview process, which is much longer than other places we have gone but I figured it was thorough. Prior to this I had informed them that my dog was a jumper, on the form as well as in person. My dog was accepted after the interview. The very next day, maybe two hours after I dropped my dog off, I got a call saying my dog was "dismissed" and could not return due to her jumping their in door fence. I was never informed that my dog jumping could/would lead to her being kicked out. As I'm aware that she is a jumper, the two other doggy day cares we use regularly have been able to handle it and it's never been an issue. Since the interview process is so long, I'm not sure how she was accepted because if it was as thorough as I was led to believe, they would have realized that my dog was not a good fit for them due to her jumping. Further, after leaving them a negative review on Google, they responded with what I would consider a condescending response. I then noticed that they respond to all negative reviews with the same tone and put the blame on the dog owner, the dog, or anyone else. They do not own up or just accept that not everyone is pleased with their services. To me, they were a waste of time, as we had to find another doggy day care on short notice during the holidays (which thankfully we did and this new doggy day care is amazing and are well aware of my dog's ability to jump fences). Camp Bow Wow said my dog needs training and they could suggest someone, well.. my dog has a couple AKC certifications. She's a very athletic dog, which turns out is not a fit for Camp Bow Wow. These reviews are for people to share their experiences with a business and to help others decide if this business will be a good fit for them. Camp Bow Wow does not take well too bad reviews and want to put blame on others. My experience with them was not a good one and after the response I got to a review I left, I further stand by that. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable! I really like that they make your dogs "interview" before enrolling so they make sure they fit in with the other dogs and atmosphere. It was easy to trust them with my dogs who have never been in daycare or boarded ever. And, I loved being able to watch my pups on the website and app with the camper cam feature! read more

Woof! This place is exactly what I want in a dog boarding facility. Indoor and outdoor play spaces are rotated to allow for cleaning throughout the day. Pets are all updated on vaccinations (vital to the safety and health of all dogs), and have a play date before boarding to ensure they work well within the environment. Here, parents don't pay extra for play time, and that's how it should be! The dogs play most of the day, after a post-meal break to prevent bloat. The staff seem to really interact with the animals, as can be seen on the lobby monitors and internet webcams. Bring your own bed, food, or let Bow Wow set you up with theirs. Behavior classes are available on an individual basis, and basic grooming and boosters (bordatella is required twice yearly, unlike our vet requires, but they did it for us on check-in) can be done on site as well. An exit bath will have you ready to hug and kiss your fluffy fur baby when you retrieve them at pick up. After big name stores' high prices and vet services which had me barking mad, this has been a dream come true- high quality pet care at a reasonable price! Wonderful people. We brought our dog here for maybe four hours. They noticed she was nervous around the other small dogs so they put her in a large kennel by herself so she'd be more comfortable. They felt so bad about having to do that they said we didn't have to pay for her stay. We know our dog gets nervous around other dogs and completely understood this decision and insisted we should pay for her stay but the owner still said we didn't have to pay because she didn't get to play with the other dogs. So then my wife said we needed a leash and asked if we could at least buy a leash and the owner just gave us one of the inexpensive ones they use for free. Another thing that really impressed me is that when we went to pick up our dog she was asleep. She's old and deaf and it can take her awhile to wake up. Instead of just picking her up and bringing her out the owner went into the kennel and pet her for almost a minute till she woke up and then very slowly and gently picked her up. HORRIBLE- I dropped my dog off for the first time a few months ago and she was a puppy but was old enough to go to day care. She went just for a day to play with some dogs. I got a call from them saying to come pick her up because she was too timid around dogs and showing signs of aggression. When I got her in the car I noticed she had a giant hole in the back of her leg from being bit by another dog. The workers did not even bring up the bite and when I called they said they had not noticed. My dog now permanently is nervous around dogs. read more

My dog left with unexplained injures. Becky is terrible owner. On my dogs last 5 night stay at Balmoral, my small dog left with and injured dew claw (which led to infection) and got an ugly puncture wound on his side. It was a pretty deep puncture that required a vet visit (no stitches) and antibiotics. And, no one can explain to me how his injuries happened. I received two separate phone calls from one of the owners on separate days about his injuries. She said my small dog would be on 'high alert' after the first injury. But then I received the second call from the owner on sixth day and morning I was about to pick up the dogs after their bath. She says that my small dog has a "hole" in his side. She also stated that it was not a dog bite and they are "trained to know the difference." So I asked, "did he get into an altercation with another dog?" She assured me that I would have immediately been alerted if a fight had occurred and that no one can explain how he was injured. She stated that they had rolled back the cameras and could not see how he was injured. One of the workers was pretty sure the puncture wound was not there that last night and the injury had to happen between being in his cabin overnight and his bath that morning. There are no cameras inside the cabins so they don't know when it actually happened. I had chalked up the claw injury to maybe a little rough play or maybe he hit his claw somehow, but how did he get a very noticeable puncture wound on his side? My issue is that no one can explain anything. My hubby picked up the dogs since I was working so I wasn't there to talk to the owner or negotiate fair pay. They had hubby pay the $400 bill before bringing out the dogs. They then brought out my dogs but carrying my small dog while kissing and loving all over him. They showed my husband the injuries and told him the same story that "no one knows how he was injured." He asked, "if the puncture wound happened during his bath that morning or did he bump into something sharp inside the cabin? He was told there is nothing sharp inside the cabin and they just don't know how he was injured. Hubby left knowing I was gonna be pissed and let them know I would be in contact. Once I got home, my dog came to me limping with a swollen dew claw and a very nasty puncture hole in his side with dried blood on the fur surrounding the wound. It was too late to call Camp Bow Wow, so I called after I left the vet the next day. I left a message with the desk worker for the owner to call me. I missed the owners call back but she did leave her cell number for me to call back. I immediately called the owner's cell and gave her the vet update of the infected swollen claw and the "puncture wound." I had her once again try to explain the injuries to my small dog. She stated they could not see anything on the cameras to explain the injuries and that it had to happen in his cabin overnight. My small dog always shares a cabin with our big dog, a German Shepard mix. She is extremely submissive and timid. I always tell people she was born only to give Love. Never any aggression, in fact she is kept in the small to medium dog play area with our small dog all day at Camp Bow Wow due to her being so timid of the big dogs her own size. Our small dog completely dominates our big dog. I only separate the dogs during feeding. So I asked, are you implying that my big dog injured my small dog and did they separate the dogs as I advised during feeding. She says my dogs are separated at feeding and share the same cabin at bedtime. She then states, it's the only reasonable explanation and that siblings do fight. I said, this is the first time the story has changed and if my dog was on such "high alert", then why didn't anyone hear him yelp from such an injury. She then stated that her workers said he had moles and that maybe one came off. I explained that his moles don't grow in that area and the very few moles he has are all intact. I let her know that the vet stated it was not a mole injury but a couple days old "puncture wound." I said, I would probably feel better if you told me the small dog (napoleon syndrome) got into a fight with another dog as this would at least explain the injuries. And, I didn't appreciate her all of a sudden blaming my other dog. It didn't sit well with me that I brought my dogs to Camp Bow Wow and paid $400 for their stay and now I had to go incur a vet bill. I also told her of the many years we have used Camp Bow Wow spending thousands and that I have referred other pet owners and given them good reviews online. So, I then asked, "is there some kind of goodwill or customer loyalty discount that she wanted to extend to me?" Her first response was, "can you tell me how we were at any fault for his injuries?" I was so upset with her not owning up to any responsibility that I could only hang up the phone to keep from thoroughly using expletives. read more

Camp bow wow has been great. My dog loves it and they love her. They greet her with warmth every time she comes in and I know she's taken good care of. I love watching her on the cameras. She's always happy to go to camp and exhausted and happy when she leaves. read more

I use the other Camp Bow Wow on Whitten extensively and love it. Everyone is friendly and has a great attitude and I love dropping my dog off. My interaction with this location was the exact opposite. The don't seem customer service oriented, didn't have a great attitude during our interaction, and don't seem to have a "can do" attitude. Even though this location is closer I'll continue to use the Whitten location for my 30+ nights of dog boarding a year. read more

I took my golden doodle in to get groomed. He was very shaggy and it was the middle of summer so I knew they were going to have to shave him. I dropped him off and when I came back he was so short. Way shorter than I thought they would take. But that was fine. It was when I got him and was playing with him and scratching his ears that I realized that he had been nicked in his ears a couple of times. Otherwise, they were all really nice. I just would have appreciated a call or a text about how short they were having to cut him as well as letting me know he had been nicked on accident. read more

This Camp Bow Wow has become our go-to boarding spot since they opened. Brand new facilities, friendly customer service, and the cameras to watch the dogs playing are pretty addictive. We love having her there when we go on trips so she can go in and out and play throughout the day rather than spend most of her time in a kennel. read more

Friendly staff and safe, clean environment for my dogs. I checked in via their live cams several times during their boarding and they were always well cared for and interacted well with all the other dogs. My husband and I LOVED the crystal clear cameras and the ability to see them when we needed while we were away! One of our dogs is a bit of a scaredy cat and we could see her coming out of her shell with the others. Also, our dog that suffers with separation anxiety LOVES Camp Bow Wow and doesn't mind me leaving him at all! Our laid back, older lady did well and loved the attention she received. My pup is very energetic, so when a place can tire her out for hours it is great in my books. I also love the webcam features (you do need to download the app) so I can check in on her whenever I feel like it. Pricey, but if you're boarding your dog daycare is included unlike other places in town. Will be using again. read more

I dropped my dog off at Camp Bow Wow for Thanksgiving Holiday. We used to use them when I lived in the area and were happy with there day care. When I picked up my dog he was a bit out of sorts and they handed me his dog bed which had a big rip in it. Dogs can be a bit out of sorts when they are away from home, I get it. It wasn't till we got in the car that I realized both the bed and my dog were soaking wet with urine. My dog has never urinated in his own bed (it's rare for any dog to do this - that's why kennel training works). When I called and asked what happened they just kept saying over and over again that they let him out every two hours. They told me they took away his bed after he ripped it, but had no answer for why it was soaking wet with urine for two days (if that's what happened). They didn't even bother to clean it. They said my dog could have a free bath next time we come. We won't be going back. We've never had problems like this at brown dog lodge. read more

Everyone there was friendly and genuinely cared about my dogs comfort. H is a Resuce and can be a bit skittish around new people and surroundings. I had a good experience with Camp Bow Wow (Balmoral in Memphis) they were very nice, the place was also good, clean and I liked that my dogs had indoor and outdoor play areas. I also liked the web cam, all of the people that came in to watch the dogs where my dogs were looked like they were happy to be there, they played attention to the dogs and cleaned up after them....except one! She definitely looked like she just wanted to get her time at work OVER! She seemed terribly annoyed that the dogs were jumping up on her to get her attention. She never even petted one dog! How anyone can be in an area with a bunch of cute dogs and totally ignore them is hard for me to imagine. She wasn't mean at all to them ..she just definitely didn't want to be there! When I came to pick up my dogs, she was up front and when another gal asked her to get my dogs she said "I don't even know which ones those are" .. But other than that, I liked the place and will probably go back. My dogs seemed to have a good time. read more

My dog loves being a camper at Camp Bow Wow. I love that it is so close to where we live. I Also like the fact that they have a half day/5 hour price of $17. The employees seem to be so in tune with the pups and anticipating their needs. While watching the Camper Cams one day, we saw our Teddy not behaving in a gentlemanly way. The counselor also saw this and immediately intervened in a way that was perfect, and not at all upsetting to the overall balance of the room. The behavior was stopped and all was still well in the campground! I also like the fact that our two young granddaughters were allowed to visit with Teddy while we were gone. This was the first time Teddy has been boarded while we were on vacation. I know Teds was as happy to see his girls as they were to see him! We appreciate them loving our boy! read more

This is the first review I have ever written but my experience with this place was so bad that I feel obligated to make sure everyone knows how this place operates. I left my 5.5 month old lab with Camp Bow Wow Balmoral for a 4 night stay to go out of town for my grandmother's funeral. I get a call on the first day he was there saying that he had been bitten by another "camper" and that my dog would need stitches! They did take him to an emergency animal clinic to get stitches but did not offer any type of refund or discounted rate for allowing my dog to get bit. I understand that dog bites are inevitable when you have a playpen full of dogs but that is what the pre-boarding interview is for, correct? My advice is to never leave your dog at this place unless you want to take the risk of allowing your dog to get bit. The bite was about 3/4 inches deep just below his right eye and will no doubt leave a scar! read more
