The Trackside brand is expanding! Certainly one of the best Pizzas in Puyallup now opens a new location in Sumner. This location boasts parking you can actually open your car door, unike the original Puyallup location. On an early weeknight dinner, we were the only table being served. Shift change occured mid meal, and although most servers will come over and introduce the new person who will take care of you, that did not happen here. Service seemed relatively inattentive, but hopefully that is just a growing pain of only being open for about a month. I did miss the "Pie Up!" that the Puyallup location announces, but again, could just be growing pains. Food was good. It was almost up to par with the other location...very close. I do miss the quirky decor of the original location, so hopefully that will come in time. I think the location of the kitchen at the Puyallup location allows a bit more family feel as you can see your food being prepared a bit better. Here it is off on one end of the restaurant alone. Overall, a solid restaurant with a good deal of potential and unfortunately some big shoes to try and fill. I'll try back in a few months, but as the Puyallup location is a bit closer, I'll likely stick to that one most of the time. Kudos to Shaun and the crew for a great renovation and bringing some much needed life to downtime Sumner in the evenings. read more

I just recently stop by to see what items on the menu. The one that stood out was the Interurban Sub Sandwich. It was seasoned perfectly and the roll was soft and toasted just right. The ingredients were balance and done spot on. I will be returning in the near future. I am a retired gourmet food chef for over 35 yrs. I put this sandwich in the top five of the best I ever had. So bummed to see all these negative reviews! Visited for the third time last night and have been nothing but happy with everything from the service to the food. In fact, each time I go, it gets better. For Sumner and Bonney Lake, this is the best pizza around, no question. The manager, Jesse, was our server last night and was great. They are Sooo-Slow, went to have a lunch break from work so we wanted the buffet. They have a great selection of toppings for pizza and are very friendly. The train theme is also a big hit with my son.

The food tastes good, service is less than stellar, BUT IT IS SO FREAKING LOUD, you can not enjoy any form of conversation. You have to yell to order your food. . Suggestion: bring a megaphone, or noise cancelling headphones. Try texting if you want to have a conversation. I stopped in on a weekday around 12 for their lunch buffet. I was excited to try their all you can eat pizza plus a salad for only $8.99. It wasn't that busy when I walked in, only about 5 tables were occupied and the largest one was party of 5. There was only one waitress. I'm used to pizza buffets or buffets in general being the type of thing where you can walk up to the buffet line and serve yourself. This is not the case at this place. The waitress takes your order for what you want from the buffet. She came to me after about 5 minutes and asked what kind of pizza I wanted without first even telling me what they were offering at that time. Once she told me, I requested a slice of pepperoni and a slice of Hawaiian. When she brought them out more than 10 minutes later, I was given a slice of cold pepperoni pizza and a slice of something that was maybe a meat combo, but definitely not Hawaiian. It took another 10-15 minutes for her to return and ask if I wanted more pizza. She walked away before even asking which I wanted and returned 10 or so minutes later with two pepperoni. Okay... so I guess you don't get to choose what pizza you want to eat at this place. Well, by this time I had been there for about half an hour and she still hadn't brought me my salad. She said they were cutting more lettuce in the back because the person who closed the night before hadn't done it. My salad came out at least 30 minutes after my meal, by which time I was done eating the pizza I didn't even get to select. It was a tiny bit of lettuce and a crap ton of olives, with some mushrooms and croutons and shredded cheese. Oh, and the wrong dressing. It took a few minutes to flag the waitress down but once I did, she brought the correct dressing out and I ate my olives with a side of salad. I am sorely disappointed in this place. I had been excited to try it for awhile and finally did but the service left a lot to be desired. The pizza that wasn't cold was good, but I really would've liked to have been able to choose something other than pepperoni or all meat pizza rather than the waitress deciding what I wanted. I also would've enjoyed the salad either coming out before the pizza, or at the same time as the first round of pizza. Not at the end, and not covered in nothing but olives. I love olives! But when I order salad, I definitely don't expect to receive a plate full of mostly olives. Additionally, there absolutely should've been more than one waitress. She was nice enough but running around like a chicken with her head cut off because she had no help. Sorry, Trackside, but you have lost what would've been a frequent customer in me. read more

I ordered a couple of pizzas for delivery, and both were VERY undercooked. Around 40% of the crust was still dough. The crust was wet & flimsy and resulted in most of the toppings falling off the pizza. The ingredients themselves seemed like good quality, but the final product was nothing to write home about. I tried the Trackside in Puyallup near it's grand opening many years ago... tonight's pizza seemed like a steep departure from the first experience. Pizza toppings tasted great and unique enough to distinguish it from other pizza places, the crust however (texture-wise) made every bite feel like a battle to chew a bite off....very tough. I liked it well enough to give it another shot though to see if this is the normal crust or perhaps just an over cooked one. read more

We ate at Trackside in Sumner last night. We arrived at about 5:30 - it was quiet but it started to pick up when we left. We had a large group of 12 and were in/out within an hour. No long waits here! The service was excellent and the kids loved the pizza making. I had a little fettuccine, rosemary bread sticks, two different slices of pizza and all of it was very good! The sauce tastes fresh and home made. I would recommend Trackside for a family craving pizza anytime. read more

First time there. Nice place but seating is uncomfortable. We had the all you can eat salad & slice of anCanadian bacon & pineapple (OK) and veggie (2 small pieces of green pepper, 2 thin pieces of onion, a couple of sun dried tomato pieces and cheese. And olives) Skimpiest veggie anything we've ever had. Salad was OK, lots of olives, sliced mushrooms but no tomatoes. Good place to take hungry teens but don't think we'll be back. read more

Place was pretty dirty. Pizza was very mediocre. $20 plus tip for a 12" pizza is quite a stretch for something that taste ok at best. Save $10 by going to Costco and getting twice the pizza and double the quality. I'm sure there are much better options in this area. read more

Where the heck was the manager? We paid more than$30 for a salad, half salad and a kids meal, which costs twice as much than every other restaurant. The mini $9.50 pizza came when we were done with our salads and we had to get it to-go. That was the same time (at the end of our meal) that the waitress asked how we were doing and offered drink refills for the first time. Also , we waited quite a while to order because the waitress was not available. She did check in after 10 minutes to tell us that she would get our drink orders soon! The manager should have been on the floor to help, or at least offer a discount to the mistreated patrons. Also, they don't offer military discount. If you want a good pie. I suggest MOD. You can design your own pizza for a flat rate and not pay $1.50 per topping. The salad was awesome, just get it to-go. read more

We went in to get pizza for dinner last week. Ordered a "split' pizza, a topping on one side, another on the other. It appeared the waitress had trouble writing down the order as she used a whole page of her pad to get the order (lots of crossing out and such). Got the pizza and it wasn't right. Called over the waitress and told her what we got and what we asked for. She told us we ordered the pizza incorrectly! We called over the manager and he told us she wrote it down correctly and he made the pizza and that we ordered it incorrectly! Then much like Kristen S. review, we were told the server was out back "upset" and that we were wrong. I thought the customer was always right? We weren't rude, we were treated poorly. I will never return to this place. I was absolutely shocked by the way they run their business. Ordered a pizza and waited forever for it. When it arrived as I was eating, I bit into something as hard as a rock, and it literally broke my tooth! I find the object which is small and kinda looks like a rock. I show the server. Her response is that it's a olive pit and there menu states that the olives have pits. It didn't look like any olive pit I've seen before. She walks away. A manager walks up and asks me. I tell her what happened and that my tooth actually broke. She said she would remake it, take it off the bill, or give me a free dessert. I said I needed to leave as I was in excruciating pain from my broken tooth and to take it off. They bring me my bill and did not remove the pizza! No apologies, no anything. They clearly only care about getting their money. So I left with a 1/2 a pizza and full salad just sitting there because who knows what the object was and I wasn't risking eating anymore or letting my kids eat it and paid $40 for nothing. read more

The pizza at the Sumner location was over $32 for the Grand Trunk. It had soggy, undercooked crust that could not hold the toppings and so much garlic you couldn't taste anything else. This used to be a place we could count on for a good - not great pizza. Something has changed - we won't be back. Went to Trackside Pizza in Sumner last night with a large group of 14. Called in advance so they expected us. They gave us wonderful service and fantastic pizza. Everyone loved their pizza choice. It took a little while for the pizza to come but that's because it wasn't pre-made. They didn't rush us out of the restaurant when we were finished eating even though they were closed at that point. . After a long awaited and much anticipated but delayed opening, we visited Trackside Pzza in Sumner on Sunday, August 16th. Apparently it had been open for less than a week and it was most apparent the staff was new, not knowledgeable and without any visible management present. The restaurant is nice looking however when our party of 4 entered we were told that we would have to wait as they were staggering the seating! There were many open seats and several other parties not as patient as ourselves left in disgust. Once seated our waitperson was very nice, very young and totally unfamiliar with the menu. She was also still a minor and could not bring us our beer, forgot we ordered it and had to remind her on several occasions. We could understand the poor service as the staff was very young, inexperienced but there was no excuse for the lack of having a manager present. And the pizza? It was mediocre at best as were the breadsticks. The pizza was not thoroughly baked, the breadsticks were flavorless and the presentation horrible. On a good note we brought the remaining pizza home and it was far better served cold the following day. I feel badly in panning this new restaurant as we have thoroughly enjoyed the Puyallup location in the past but this one is a disaster. Would we go back? Absolutely not as there are far better places to spend $100 than this one! read more

This is the first time I have ever written a review on Yelp or anywhere else. Last night my husband and I took our 3 year old granddaughter to Trackside Pizza in Sumner. The only option for the our granddaughter was a one topping 8" $9.25 (plus tax) personal pizza since I didn't want to clean up a mess if she tried to make her own. She likes pepperoni, so that's what we ordered. My husband ordered a Caesar salad. There were two sizes and he chose the smaller of the two, since the full size is usually too much for him at most restaurants. I ordered lasagne. My husband received his salad first. When it arrived it was very small and had very little dressing on it. He asked if could have more dressing and was told he could have some for 60 cents. He told them no thank you. He had ordered it with shrimp (for $1.50 more) so this became a very expensive dinner salad that didn't begin to fill him up. He then went to put salt and pepper on his salad and noticed there was no salt. There was pepper, but no salt. We looked at other tables and there was no salt to be found. Just pepper. We asked the waiter where the salt was and she replied "we don't put it on the tables". My husband and I looked at each other and thought "THAT IS WEIRD" knowing that it had to be a management decision that our waiter had no control over. At that point I asked if the manager was in the restaurant because I wanted to speak to him or her and my husband gave me the look. So I dropped it and didn't get to ask why there was no salt on the tables. My husband had finished eating when the pizza and lasagna arrived. Our granddaughter was very disappointed because there were only about 6 pieces of pepperoni on her pizza. That's all she really eats of a pizza so we took her to McDonalds when we left. My lasagna was good. I gave most of it to my husband because he was still hungry. It ended up being an expensive dinner for what we got, even with the $5.00 off coupon we had received in the mail. We won't be going back. I'd like to tell the owner that he should reconsider the .60 cent salad dressing charge. That's a small thing to lose business over. But that is the main reason we won't be going back. It's the small things that can make or break you. read more
