Great soul food...Hearty portions...Friendly service...Great prices. I've been twice already and haven't been disappointed!

I finally made it to Tracey's kitchen. I passed by soooooo many times in the past years. Glad I was able to stop by. Let's start by saying that they have a great special on Wednesdays and Saturdays. $10 for a medium platter. The platter comes with a protein, rice, and two sides. The inside was spacious but seemed a bit empty as far as furniture and decor. It was cool though. There was about 5 people on line behind me as I was leaving but upon arrival, there was only one person ahead. I'm guessing since this special is a popular one that's why the food seemed to be running low. People were coming in quicker than they could replace the food on display (in my opinion). Tracy's Kitchen was a huge disappointment. Easily the worst soul food I've had in the area. They're never open on time -- if they open at all -- and the service was inattentive and unprofessional from the start. One visit was more than enough for me. Honestly, it's crazy that I have to go to JC Fish Market for decent soul food. Trenton really needs better soul food spots because this place definitely wasn't it. I would avoid wasting your time and money here. Please don't believe Tik tok or social media so called influencers they're paid to say nice things.. read more

Service was a little slow as they initially only had one person working the food line and register. Someone eventually came out to assist as there was a line forming at about 1pm. Unfortunately, they do not have a lunch special so it was $18 for a meat, 2 sides and rice. They advised that they have specials only on Tuesday and Saturday. Bummer! I ordered the yams, Mac and cheese, rice and sweet & spicy chicken tenders. They were fried perfectly and still crunchy even after the food got a little colder. I will try them again on a Tuesday and remember the specials is CASH only. read more

What an amazing experience today at this spot! The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful. I honestly felt like I was a family baby shower with the amount of top tier food selections that they had. The owners were super sweet and friendly and that was the icing on the cake. There's plenty of space for a group dine-in, black tablecloths and everything. Would definitely be bringing my family/friends here to experience this gem! read more

The food is tasty. However, please STOP Cooking your fish in chicken grease and vis-versa. Some folks have food allergies. Im sure OSHA would not approve of this. I ordered fried whiting and all I could taste was chicken. This is NOT RIGHT! DON'T be check and cut corners. This will ruine your business. Customers will be 1 done! read more

The Fried basa was 10/10. Probably the best piece of fried fish I've ever had. The turkey wings were tender and seasoned; exactly what you want. I didn't have the fried chicken, but my friend said it was delicious and crispy. The sides were just as tasty. I'd say the Yams were the best.. sooo soooo good. Can't wait to try the other food options. Hopefully next time I go they have more specials available. I went during lunch time, so the menu was limited. This is more of a grab and go place. The service was quick, but I did arrive 30 min after they opened. I would recommend calling before you go so that you know what they have before ordering. Can't wait to try them again! read more

We saw Tracey's Kitchen on TikTok and were curious about all the hype about the food and this $25 Seafood Boil. 1st of all she opened up on time, served a good number of people efficiently and was very professional. The staff was friendly and engaging, the food was well-worth the drive up from Delaware, and the restaurant was clean and appealing to the eye. Tracey was phenomenal! At one point I could see her in the Kitchen getting things done! Then, she was out on the floor greeting customers. This restaurant easily gets 5 Stars Plus!!!! The food is absolutely delicious, but their customer service is awful which is why I deducted 2 stars. Ive ordered on Uber eats twice and both times my order was cancelled because e they were out of 1 of the 3 entrees, but didn't try and contact me with other options. Ive called a few times and two times I spoke to a woman that was polite enough, however another two times I called and spoke to a different woman with a huge attitude problem. I recommend going in person or calling to see what they have in stock before placing an order online because the menu never seems to be updated. Also don't even try ordering within the last hour that they're open, they will 100% cancel your order. The mac and cheese and yams were great, however if you order an entree that has sauce or juice it will get ALL OVER the sides. The turkey wings were good, the rice it came with was bland. The food was awesome! It was like a party in my mouth! I had to cry "UNCLE" to stop eating! Me and my sister really enjoyed the did! The staff was very courteous and helpful. We did not have to wait for our order like some other restaurants. I'm from out of town but I'm going back to get dinner fir my husband for a surprise. I wish they were close to my home because I am over an hour away. It hard to find a good soul food restaurant. Lord's willing I will be back. I saw a deal on Groupon for Tracey's Kitchen and decided to give it a try. I work downtown and it was right around the corner. I told them that I have a Groupon deal but they told me that they no longer accept Groupon;their "account was hacked," they said. Ok, well I was already there so I decided to try their beef steak, collard greens and Mac and cheese. The beef steak/beef stew was good but lots of fat and gristles. The collard greens were over cooked and highly vinegar'ed and the the Mac and cheese was overly salty. I pad $17 for my meal and I ate just the beef chucks and tossed out the rest. Stopped by for takeout. Ordered the oxtails, which comes with rice and two sides ($12.50) ordered three - collards, sweet potatoes, and mac. Extra sides are $3.50. Hubby ordered whiting fish ($10.50), which came with rice and two sides. He opted for the cabbage and mac. We asked for two slices of bread for the fish and were given the option of white or wheat. We were then directed to a condiment table for tartar and hot sauce. Hubby ordered lemon cake ($2) for dessert. Portions were generous (see pics) and the food tasted great! I wont be back. Felt very disrespected. Asked for the special of the day, lollipop lamb chops. First Im questioned if I really want them then I was told they take 20 mins as her eyes were rolling at me. I said ok then Ill take the salmon which was already made the mac & cheese and cabbage. Food still took 20 mins cause my man ordered fried fish and she didn't question him at all or tell him his food was going to be any amount of time. I had to walk out, just wanted to leave. Keep my money AND the food. We get home, I refuse to eat for fear that my food has been spit on. Clearly she didn't want to serve me and clearly didn't have a problem with my man. We are a very proud biracial family. NO ONE will make either one of us feel bad for being who we are. Tracey, I've heard nothing but positive feed back about your food but the service kills it all. This use to be a good soul food spot , it's the worst now . The Mac and cheese taste terrible, there fried wings are half cut not even the hole wing, it's just sad. They put no effort into cooking food that people would enjoy. I will never go there every again . I see why the place was empty at lunch time. I rather eat fried chicken at 711 .
