Typical scammer service behavior. I brought in my Toyota for a routine oil change. They tried to upsell me on $1477 of unnecessary services. When I called them out on this, I was told there is a difference between Toyota and the Toyota Factory. I asked them to show me what means and why each piece of service was necessary. The rep had no idea and started asking ChatGPT. He then called over a manager who outright lied to my face, saying that footnote 5 in the factory manual was about additional services in cold weather conditions. It says nothing about cold weather at all. It's also strictly about inspections, not about additional work. I walked out and refused the service and will not return here. I brought my Corolla in for the final Toyota care service (25,000 miles). Even though the car is 2 years old, it only has 11,000 miles. I received an email saying they recommended doing a fuel induction service, and tire alignment. They also recommended tire rotation, which I thought was included in my routine maintenance. The additional services were almost $500. The service agent did not come out to discuss or explain any of the recommendations. I cannot find where a fuel induction service is recommended at any mileage in the service manual. When I looked it up online, it said, if done, it wasn't recommended until 30-60,000 miles. An alignment at 11,000 miles was also completely unnecessary. I was very disappointed with both the lack of attention to the current mileage and what was really needed, as well as the lack of personal attention by the service agent. I read and declined the service recommendations via email. On the positive side, they took my vehicle in right at the appointment time, and had it serviced and washed in just about an hour. I came in for a recall service and was told it would take about 2 hours, but it ended up taking 24 hours to get my car back. Delays happen, but there wasn't much communication once the timeline changed. I was also given a list of recommended services that I had already completed, which made it seem like the vehicle wasn't thoroughly reviewed. We dropped the car off 3 times, each time they said they thought they had the part but didn't or the part was miss labeled. I bought a used 2022 Rav4 at a decent price. The buying experience itself, however, was disappointing, anxiety-producing and degrading. I was coming from two hours away to see and then, presumably, to purchase the vehicle. The day before I was asked to sign documents saying I had seen and inspected the vehicle and it met my expectations, but of course I hadn't seen the vehicle yet. Nevertheless, I was importuned to sign because the finance director would not be in the office the day I was arriving. When I did arrive at the Toyota West entrance, I was met at the door and shunted to a building two lots away, where used car customers are segregated from the real customers and attended to by intern-like salespeople in an unglamorous building of spartan decor. The test drive went fine but the car was filthy inside and out, and I asked that it be cleaned, even though, supposedly, it had already been detailed. A moment later I was invited outside where my salesperson was conversing with two disheveled-looking individuals who I learned were the detailing crew. They needed me to point out what was dirty. It's not a good sign when the detail crew needs to be shown each location that needs cleaning, and my salesperson, sensing this reality, confided to me, "It's not going to be perfect." While waiting, our salesperson, who was always cordial, if blasé about the whole sales process, chatted with us about the used car market. He explained that Toyota West tries to make money on the volume of used card's sold. I took that to mean no single buyer should expect a special experience fir spending $30,000 because the whole idea is to move the cars off the lot with the least effort. After a bit, we inspected the car again, a mediocre job, a tangible grit still hung to the exterior surfaces. I capitulated: time to leave this crew of halfwits. The salesperson handed me a key fob. "Where us the other?" I asked. "There wasn't one," he explained. "In fact, we had to manufacture that one. We can only give you what the owner gives us." Hmm, I pondered silently, so the car was acquired under shady circumstances since you were given no key fobs. "But doesn't one normally get two key fobs? You never told me I would receive only one for $36,000." He said he could make me one at a discount. That was the best he could do. I thought, the papers were signed. They had the check. This transaction is over. I got in the car and tried to get off the property, but alas the detailing crew had apparently cleaned the floor mat, one of the few dirty locations I had pointed out, with a product that left it so slippery I could not keep my foot securely over the has gas pedal. I removed it, threw it in the back and left, wanting to just get home to recover from this experience. read more

worst experience ever reported transmission issues while my warranty was still valid and kept getting told over and over nothing was wrong. As soon as my warranty expired all of the sudden they're able to find the issue I requested to have the issue submitted for claims when the warranty was still valid, but they kept refusing. Please do not buy a car from here EVER! save your money go somewhere else. If your vehicle is under warranty demand they call a specialist or take it to another mechanic or dealership to have them look at your car and make sure to get everything in writing!!! worst dealership ever! read more

It was a classic bait-and-switch. I received a mailer for a $39.95 oil change, but I ended up paying almost $70 with shop fees added. I appealed to service manager Ben Hoffman, who said all shop work included a shop fee. Besides being illegal in Ohio, it is an incredibly poor business practice. read more

Every time I have brought the truck in for an appointment something wasn't done, took hours longer than expected or they will tell you the shuttle is running and never comes. I had an appointment today I called before coming in to be sure the shuttle would be okay to take me home. They told me 15 minutes when I dropped it off then every 30 minutes they would come up and say 15 more minutes. Here we are just over two hours later still waiting on the "shuttle". If you're considering using the shuttle take my word for it just order an uber it's not worth the wait. I am currently getting my truck ready to sell as I wanted something bigger and was considering buying a Tundra there but would hate to have to deal with the service after buying the truck. read more

I initially stopped at this dealership to test drive a vehicle because I was in the area. The salesman was very friendly and knowledgeable and setup a test drive. After returning, I told him which model and trim I wanted and he took my contact info and set out to find that vehicle. I returned the following week after the salesman located a vehicle that was being manufactured. I received a trade in appraisal and gave a $500 deposit to hold the new vehicle. Over the next couple weeks, the salesman kept me updated on the build status and final arrival and I came in the following day eager to purchase. The salesman had started the purchase paperwork, added my trade value and any money being put down to come up with a total purchase price. He goes to talk to the manager and comes back several minutes later with bad news. Apparently, when my vehicle was originally appraised, there was another vehicle that was similar to mine and the appraisals were switched and my actual appraisal was much lower. After a lot of back and forth negotiating, the trade value was raised but still quite a bit shy of the original appraisal, plus there was no negotiating on the new vehicle since they were giving me more on my trade. I explained to the salesman and manager that if I had known about their mistake on the trade in value, I could have sold the vehicle to a friend for more than they were offering but that time had passed. In the end, I purchased the new vehicle but I won't be returning and will not recommend Toyota West because they lack one of the Germain Values of Integrity. Two days after my purchase, I received an email from Aaron Crum thanking me for my purchase, asking for feedback, to ensure that I will return and recommend their dealership, that I'm satisfied and with a link to give feedback. I responded to the link in the email and explained the situation only to receive some generic response that was no help at all. read more

my 15k service was quick, but even though they said they completed all of the tasks, I know for a fact that they did not rotate my tires. One of my wheels has a different brand of tire and had the wheels marked. Noticed that it was the same. I thought Germain east was bad, but now find Toyota west equally unscrupulous. I received my new Lexus RX from the dealer. They gave me the keys and said enjoy your new car. Spent zero time showing me the new vehicle features. My friend received the same vehicle from a different dealership and they scheduled 30 minutes to go over all the car features with her - that's customer service. The all-weather mats where sloppily placed on top of the carpeted mats. Any other time, the carpeted mats are removed and placed in the truck or hatch. The all-weather mats are properly placed and secured. Had the tire icon light up. Made an appointment to have it looked at. The 20-something service rep told me it was due to cold weather. Well, it was summer and the tire pressure indicator said it was low. He told me to come back and see if, by driving around, the pressure would increase and the icon would turn off. Really? Told him I made this appointment and would like a service person to check it out. He developed quick a snarky attitude from that point on until I left. Sure enough, there was a nail in the tire. The audio in the car stopped working. Took the car in for repair. Part needed to be ordered. Took several phone calls to a second young service rep to provide any updates for any information on the repair or when I could expect completion of the repair. Overall customer service with Germain Lexus is less than desirable. Considering they sell luxury vehicles their service and attitude is lacking. I will try another location in the future for any service. read more

We were able to get a nice, new lease with a car we really liked and somehow he got it to us within a month (which was very impressive with how the economy is right now). ** Unique experience alert! ** I've always driven a Toyota and if I'm being totally honest, I don't see myself owning anything other than a Toyota in the future. My current ride is a 2011 Corolla and I was notified that there was a recall on my airbags, and I needed to get them replaced as soon as possible. Well, 6 months after the first notice came, a second notice came in the mail. I finally decided I better get it done before winter comes and the driving conditions worsen. I called the designated number and was scheduled to get the repairs done here, at Toyota West. It was the closest Toyota location to me and had the soonest availability, so I took it! When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly face (thanks Rory) and the process was explained to me in detail. They said it would take roughly 4-5 hours and they had a replacement vehicle available for me. This was nice and kept the repair from interfering with my day. Once my vehicle was ready for pick-up, they gave me a call and I made my way back to the service center at the dealership. They gave me the paperwork, my keys, and sent me on my way. Not once did they try and sell me anything, which was greatly appreciated. My car is currently a little banged up and I was almost certain they would call offering to repair my front windshield (which is cracked) and my passenger side mirror. Nope, and thank goodness! I can't afford dealership repairs and would rather go to a smaller, locally owned body shop for those sorts of repairs anyways. Now, I'm sure when it comes to buying a new car you can run into annoying sales rep and whatnot. However, I'm happy to say that my experience here was easy and pleasant. I purchased a new 2017 top-of-the-line Highlander Limited Platinum and have hardly driven it. Only 30,000 miles and the Navigation/Radio system has stopped working. It turns out that this is happening to many thousands of Toyotas all over the country and not just Highlanders. They charge you almost $200 to computer check it to see what the trouble is. Then they tell you they can't tell what the problem is and they can't fix it. So you have to buy some aftermarket one that is nothing like the original and can't do much and looks bad, or they will sell you a refurbished one that I've been told goes out after several months and you are back to square one. You would think that Toyota would help replace these faulty radios that just stop working with the huge number of them going bad. I called their 1 800 number and they basically said they didn't expect these problems and haven't had enough complaints. The car drives great, but losing navigation and the radio is the reason I will never buy a Toyota again. read more

They didn't even have the respect to come and tell me that they had not started yet, and to ask if I WANTED to continue to wait. They just made that decision in their own. My experience was relatively positive. I didn't even mind waiting when I came in to drop off my vehicle. I had my airbag replaced due to a recall and a tire replaced due to a puncture. The only problem I had was the new tire was not properly inflated. As soon as I started my vehicle, it notified me that the air pressure was low. I could have pulled into the service bay and asked that they filled it. But I was in quote a hurry. When I got home and went to air it up, it was obvious to look at that it was low and it was at 27psi when it should have been around 35psi. I understand mistakes happen and I'm sure hey would have quickly rectified it, but being that they put the tire on and the car immediately alerts you to the low pressure when you start it, I find it hard to believe that this was overlooked. read more

I have not had our Toyota's serviced at this location for quite some time due to the poor quality of the service personnel, and we bought two Toyota's from this location in 2020. Since the ownership changed, I wanted to try this location again. I was disappointed that the $29.95 oil/filter change standard was replaced with an 80% higher price. Also, it took almost two hours to finish a 60k mile oil/filter chang, tire rotation and inspections. The service advisor apologized for the delay and indicated they were trying to hire more technicians for more timely service. They did fix a small dent in my plastic rear bumper, which was great (the Ann Arbor Toyota dealer told me that they "don't do body work" and dismissed my request, so I'm not going there anymore). read more

Friday night: car dropped off for service to fix whining sound when AC is running. told it would be ready by Saturday evening. Less than 30 min after drop off, i recieve a call saying it would not be ready till monday night. Inconvenient but whatever, expected from a dealership. Monday night: I drop off my rental, and get back in my vehicle. Of course the first thing im going to do is run the AC, and the sounds still very much there. No help from any service advisors, basically telling me all these different things the sound could be, and that i could leave my car there to be "fixed" again....
