First things first this is not and will not be the only review I create for Toyota West. I left one with Google reviews yesterday about my most recent experience after having taken in my fiancés 2015 Toyota RAV4. I have never had a bad experience in all the years I've done business with the employees at Toyota west. Id like to try and explain this before I get to yesterday's portion of my review. Back in late 2008 my wife at the time (now ex wife) and I had our very first privilege of becoming new to the Toyota experience. My 92 Celica had just broke down after providing me with 289k miles to the factory engine and transmission. That car was given to me by a neighbor and had lasted me roughly 4 years. It also turned me into a fan of Toyota as well as a die hard fan of the Celica models. Her car had recently lost compression in the cylinders and she opted to junk her Mazda 626. I was scouring Craigslist for another car so we weren't both having to walk miles to work going into winter. I clicked on an image of a 2000 Toyota Celica GTS and within moments I received a phone call from a gentleman named Stanley who happened to Work at Toyota West and was monitoring traffic on their used car posts. After a week of trying to make it out to the dealership with no car, he drove 45 minutes to pick us up and promised we would walk out with a newer vehicle. After many hours and no help from my credit score the management at Toyota West cut us an amazing deal which aloud us to leave with a 2004 Toyota Celica GT with 64k miles on it. I still have this car today. Over the past 16 years since then I've brought friends and family to Toyota West and they have all left with great experiences to share with their friends and families. My fiancé now is also new to the great experience Ken Johnson was part of with the sale of her RAV4. Yesterday I had scheduled her Rav for an oil change. I was greeted and treated very well by the staff. Turns out that the Maintenance Required light was on due to the tires needing rotated. The service Tech sent me via text a link to go to with all the information about issues and a nice 45 second video explaining what to look for with future repairs. Rather than have me waste $70+ dollars on an oil change I did not need yet they explained that the tires needed rotated. I sat maybe for 30 to 40 minutes relaxing on the comfortable chairs staring at a white 2024 Toyota GR Corolla. I had a great experience and I continue to appreciate the fine men and women Toyota West and Toyota USA continue to hire as a representative of their company. Please keep me in mind when the 2025/2026 Toyota Celica Launches for sale. I'd like to think I'm due for a nice new Toyota. Thank you for a wonderful experience yet again! -Alex Koulouris- read more

First, staff should never assume what people come in for is what they are looking for. I had two staff members not want to help me cause I was at first just selling my car. So when I walk into the dealership, I was greeted by two staff members, Kalim and Henry they ask how they could help. I said I was looking to appraise my car and sell it. They both said they had appointments coming in at 2pm as it was 1:45pm. So they directed me to BJ, BJ came up and ask how can I help you today. I said, "I would like to sell my car." He then turns back to the other men at the counter and says well Kalim can help you with that. To which he says no I have a appointment coming in. From there It was a very awkward two minutes of who is going to help me, to which I just stood there till someone offers help or I just walk out. Henry finally said I will help you and only take about 15 minutes. So I am not sure why Kalim and BJ didn't think I was worth their time. Because as I was there till 5pm I didn't see them with a customer, and I went from selling my car to buying a car, so they both lost out! Assuming is never a good idea, and brushing a customer off like that is really awkward. The second thing would say is if you are going to tell me you are going to give me more for my trade and Lower the price of the car you should do it. I was there for 4 hours cause they busy or back logged. Henry who was very nice, but I do think he was milking the hours I spent there to get me to a price I didn't want. And what I mean is he said he could get the car to $200 to $225 a month, and he said they either give more for my trade or money off the car and they didn't do either, but after being there for 4 hours I was exhausted and just ready to leave. I am really disappointed that those numbers couldn't be achieved I wasn't asking for $1000s more off, just $200 more on the trade and $500 off the car sale price. But sitting for hours and I hadn't eaten and was so exhausted I just wanted to leave. I love the car I got it was what I need and could afford, but disappointed that being there for so long and I couldn't even get what I really wanted payment wise. Lastly responded to emails I assume it's a generic email that they send out for reviews but the link for if you had an issue didn't work. And I sent a message over a week ago the manager never responded. But why would he he has my old car and my money, apparently. read more

I bought my first car from Toyota West in 1992 after moving to Columbus. Since that time, I have purchased nine other cars. Since January, I have purchased two new cars from them. In my most recent experiences, I noticed a shift in their "customer service." Their current mode of operations is over promise and under deliver. For example, yesterday I took in my Toyota Tacoma for a recall appointment. While having the recall service done I was due a 40,000 mile service on my Toyota Tacoma, which was to include an oil change, tire rotation and a cabin air filter replacement. Further, my left rear tire had been consistently losing air so I asked them to look into the problem. Since the recall service would take several hours, I was also granted a rental for my inconvenience. The rental smelled like a 1980's bar and sounded like the muffler was ready to fall off at any moment. I was told that was "all they had." After paying for my truck service I was given my keys and told that my truck was "parked somewhere in the first two rows." Well, after several minutes of wandering the parking lot, I discovered my vehicle parked behind the building. In addition, their complimentary car wash meant that I received my truck back wet and not dried from the apparent rushed and inattentive service. When I inquired if they were really done with my truck I was told yes. Further, after I was a few miles from the dealership my alert low tire light displayed. When checking my tire pressure on the digital read out, the same left rear tire was drastically low in pressure. This told me two things, number one, they didn't check my low tire and two they did not rotate my tires. They charged me for the tire rotation but obviously did not do the service. Further, they did not change the cabin air filter either. NO, this is not a joke. This really happened at Toyota West. This is the trend of what I am discovering from Toyota West. The culture has shifted from a reliable local dealership very concerned about customer service being the essential key to ongoing repeated customers to over promising and under delivering. I recommend that you find another dealership that is not over hyping their services and truly cares about the long term customer. So, now I am forced to find another reliable and trustworthy service center in my area because of this obvious downward spiral of mediocrity at Toyota West. read more

I was trying to buy my first car because I had to have transportation for the summer so I wasn't exactly looking for something that would last forever, but still something that would be reliable. I called Toyota West and asked if I could test drive one of their used vehicles and gave them the time that I would be there. When I got there, they couldn't even find the vehicle, so I had to spend almost an hour with the salesman driving around their different dealerships trying to find it only for them to realize that it was being sent to auction and hadn't been cleaned or checked yet. So I waited while they brought it in and made sure it worked before I was allowed to test drive it around the parking lot. Literally just around the building. It was still the model and mileage that I was looking for so I figured it would work and that it would be ready for me when I came to pick it up so it wouldn't be a big deal. I came three days later after being promised that it would be cleaned, detailed, and safety checked; when I got there, it had only been wiped down and the window decal had been mostly removed. I gave up and cleaned it myself when I got it home; I just needed a car and it drove. When I finally actually drove the car off the lot, they told me they'd mail the paperwork to me because the business office wasn't open at the time; fine, I came at a weird time and had three weeks until my first loan payment. Now a month later, I still have no paperwork and had to call the bank to figure out what to do about the loan payment because I had no information on the actual loan. I called the salesman and the dealer numerous times on numerous different days and either got a voicemail and no callback or a receptionist that didn't know who to send me to. I left voicemails for the salesman, the business office (two different people), and even the title clerk and no one responded. The only reason I even talked to someone who knew how to get my paperwork was because I yelled at the receptionist, and they finally transferred me to someone who could find the paperwork and finally send it to me. They knew they were dealing with a college student who hadn't bought a car before and needed transportation more than a deal and absolutely took advantage of that fact at every opportunity. read more

(2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 V6 Double Cab Super White, Fully loaded) i Met with Pat, very kind and free spirited person. She was very helpful getting me through it all. I went in to get a trade in value on my 2010 fusion I had on my first car loan and had it 2 years and still owed double what it was worth and I was wanting to get rid of it and try my hardest to not have negative equity going into the new loan I was opening for a new truck more specifically a v6 4x4 double cab and in black. I was going to preorder it or buy one coming in transit and they had a black off road edition coming so I put a deposit on that but I wasn't really happy with my trade in so I left and was going to check another dealership out, but they called me gave me good news and said that I could get very close to what I wanted to get and they also had this superwhite one a lil more but worth it and I was hesitant at first cause I was so set on a black one, but after getting back there and them helpin me out get as close to positive as you can and they did that I was at Paying 900 to be positive but when ur buying a new truck you gotta spend some money lol and I was happy they got me in that truck with a great payment and rate it was way better than my first loan and I'm so glad I went with the super white and didn't wait or go the other route, they Had a white one there , I think they asked the orginal buyer if he could sell me his and him wait a lil longer and had it there. it was loaded up to, had the Tonneau cover, TP Technology package, bedlights, remote tailgate lock, LED headlights and fog light, got all the bells and whistle. the sport is so much more aggressive and the white just looks amazing, and it was priced great. u can't buy a used truck rn you might as well buy new atleast with these Tacomas. i am very happy customer they went far and beyond for me and im truly blessed and glad I stopped at that Toyota dealership and glad Pat was there to lead the way and do all the work for me. she was amazing. ask for Pat Toyota west read more

Horrible experience. Salesperson named Ryan was extremely unprofessional, rude, and severely lacked knowledge of his own products. From the moment I walked in, Ryan never introduced himself, never asked my name, and never shook my hand. Throughout the entire interaction he never once offered a basic introduction or even attempted to build a conversation. When I showed him my insurance and later a photo of my VIN, Ryan took my phone out of my hands without asking, screenshotted photos himself, opened my camera roll, and LOOKED THROUGH MY PHOTOS to send it to himself. At one point he saw a trade-in quote from another dealership that I had never shared with him. That was a complete breach of privacy and incredibly uncomfortable. His sales skills & knowledge were also nowhere to be found. I made it clear multiple times that I only wanted a hybrid vehicle. While showing me options, I noticed some were labeled gas and asked him to confirm he was only showing me hybrids. Each time he said "yes, these are all hybrids". When I was leaving, I asked him directly, "What was the hybrid option you recommended for me?" and he told me the Corolla Cross XLE. I later confirmed at another Toyota dealership that the Corolla Cross XLE he recommended is a gas vehicle, not a hybrid. What an idiot lol. What made the experience even more frustrating was that immediately after I left, I watched him greet the next customers, A MAN and a woman, by smiling, shaking both of their hands, and introducing himself, something he never once did with me. Between the misinformation, the lack of professionalism, and repeatedly taking my phone without asking, the entire experience was uncomfortable and unacceptable. I was fully expecting to buy a car, but Ryan gave me the absolute worst, gross vibes. Take your purchase literally anywhere else, you'll be better off. read more

Just purchased a new prius from this dealership. I have had 6 toyotas in my life now , so I must be a fan of the brand. My last prius has 255k miles on it and is still running great, so I wanted my next car to be another Prius. I have been internet shopping for a couple of months an since its august, most car dealers are dealing pretty good to try to get the 2016 models off the lot before the 2017's get there. To this end toyota was offering 2000 cash back off any in stock car. So I filled out the form on the website lon the exact car I was interested in and waited for the call or email. This dealer has a specific guy that does the online stuff ( the e-sales guy). He sent me an email with an offer that was about 5k off sticker ( on a 28k car!). So i went in to see him and he handed me off to a regular sales person to help me out. They did not actually have that car/model/color on site. After a test drive of a similar model he showed me what did actually have. Really didnt want any of those and stuck with my original colors an option from the web offer. He said no problem let me go see where i can locate that one. After two or three days they located one about 2-3 hours away. The sales guy himself went there to retrieve it. When I went to pick it up and finalize the purchase i expected the usual attempt to sell all sorts of 'extras' from the finance person. ( extended warranty, dent repair services etc..) . To my surprise, none of this happened, this was the quickest / most pain free finish-up of a car sale i can remember. All in all, I was definately happy with my new car buying experience here. Starting with an e-sales online quote is the way to go. They know you have been looking at other places and you show up with their best offer already in hand. It really seemed to speed things up on the back end of the process. read more

My wife and I recently had our fourth daughter and needed something bigger and safe. Jimmy greeted us with a smile and a firm handshake. When we explained what we were looking for and what are budget was Jimmy didnt hesitate to show us his recommendation. The first vehicle he showed us we fell in love with. It had all the room and then some that we needed, he pointed out all the safty features and even gave us peace of mind when explaining the warranty that came with the van. It was perfect. Ive never had a purchase go so smoothly on anything let alone a van. I felt as if he was being sincere when he told us that he felt this vehilce would suit or needs and he was totally correct. He was very polite and joked around with our daughters, I dont know what it was but they just laughed at all his jokes and were excited when they got to sit in the van he recommended. I guess my kids have a good judge of character because Jimmy will be the one that i purchase all my future vehicles from, and with 4 daughters I can asure you I will be back. I also work in the automotive repair business and asked Jimmy he he didnt mind me giving his number to my customers who need a new car as opposed to spending alot on repairs on vehicles that would exceed the value of their cars and he said he would be happy to help. I know ive givin his number to about 5 of my customers who are in need of a car asap. I assured them that Jimmy was honest and he actually cares about his customers and not the size of his wallett. I brought my van in for the 25k mile maintenance check up. I received an email stating it was time for the appointment. When I placed the appointment the associate gave the impression it was part of my Toyota care, my van is a lease. I came to the appointment where Scott Brixey helped me. At first he was professional. Had me sign his iPad to begin the service. At no time did he state I would be responsible for any bill after services were done. The appointment was over and Scott proceeded to hand me a bill. I explained I was not prepared to pay for anything today as I assumed and was given the impression this was part of the Toyota care plan and no one explained anything otherwise. He immediately became rude, laughed at my expense and asked in a very belittling way, "don't you have some sort of card to pay with it today." I asked to speak to a manager. He said he'd go talk to him. I could see Scott through the glass door where he went to speak to his manager and I saw him laughing as I only can assume he was laughing about this situation. Almost 20 minutes went by with no explanation as to how this problem would be resolved. I had to walk over to the managers office and ask how was this going to be handled. Scott then said, "oh I thought someone gave you your keys, you can go." It was poorly handled. I left feeling so upset how I was treated. My family has had a long standing relationship with Toyota west. The way I was mistreated and disregarded was ridiculous. When my lease is up later this year, I will be going else where for all future vehicle purchases. read more

My daughter and I went to several different car dealerships before my daughter decided to lease a car from Toyota West. The salespeople tried to deceive us about the pricing differences posted on the web and in person at one dealership, and they never stopped calling her cell phone, and the salesperson at another dealership was rather pushy and wanted to pressure my daughter to buy immediately, even though it was 1 hour past their closing time and we were hungry and she wanted to think about it longer. That salesperson made a sarcastic comment to my daughter who said she would be back the next morning after she had time to think about the 2 different models she was interested in. He said that he wished she would have not wasted his time in so many words, trying to make her feel guilty that they stayed late even though it was there fault because they wouldn't let us leave peacefully. The salesperson Michael Schroeder at Toyota West treated my daughter with the utmost respect, he didn't talk condescendingly to her, and he explained the leasing process very thoroughly to her so that she could understand it completely. He never deceived her and he never bothered her when she said she would be back the next day. He was a gentleman and made her buying experience a very satisfying one. Lee in the Finance department who handled all the financing questions and the final paperwork was very thorough with my daughter and he was also very professional. I would recommend Toyota West to anyone because of their customer service and professionalism. read more

I really want to give this place a good review, the staff is friendly and they have helped me out more than they had to. However, I bought my car before it was detailed so I was told they would schedule a detail for me after I bought it. They scheduled the detail appointment and I brought it in and waited in the lobby/waiting room for more than 3 hours just to go back out to my car that was the exact same as when I left it. I lost most of my day because I did not have a car and was stuck at the dealership who was "working" on my car. I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but they did not even vaccum it. I mean for 3+ hours of my day, I could have at least vaccumed it in that time to help make my car look a little cleaner. So, it still has not been cleaned and the dealership does not care because they still made a sale. Why would they put any extra work in if they don't have to? Again, friendly staff, but they really are not looking out for you. My car smells like the last person who owned it and has garbage all around the car. It is not great to buy a car that has not been detailed when the dealership promises to detail it and gives me the car back the exact same. I will add that I bought the car on a Saturday and 3 out of the next 4 Saturdays I was at the dealership because there was another issue to deal with. I feel like this place has taken advantage of me. I wish I didn't feel this way, but it is how I feel. read more

Our trip to the Georgesville Automall began at 11AM Sunday, however, we failed to realize that the dealerships do not open until 12PM on Sunday. Luckily for us, while walking through the lots an hour before they opened, we were approached by Brandon Barnthouse, a sales associate for Toyota West. Brandon was incredibly knowledgable. Prior to our visit, we were unsure of the make or model we intended to purchase. He gave us comprehensive reviews of the different vehicles and provided us with specific local and nationwide statistics to support his assessment. Once we narrowed down our search, he explained the special features equipped to each of the vehicles and he even shared some interesting history about the various models. After considering the information he offered, we decided on the Toyota Camry Hybrid. The negotiation process was swift and straightforward. In a matter of minutes, we were able to reach an agreeable price and then I met Milt Coleman in the finance department to finish the sale. I was truly impressed with Milt's professionalism and breadth of experience. He carefully detailed the warranty options for my vehicle and gave honest evaluations of the available services. He promptly finished all the paperwork and off I went with my new Camry. I highly recommend this dealership, and especially these individuals, to assist you in the purchase of your next car. read more

I am writing to formally express my concern regarding a recent service experience for my Toyota Sienna Hybrid during the 20,000-mile scheduled maintenance. After approximately 40 minutes of waiting, I was informed by the service associate that my vehicle was ready and was checked out accordingly. However, upon returning to my vehicle, I immediately noticed that the water wash had not been performed--despite the service document indicating that it was completed. I initially assumed this might have been an oversight, but due to time constraints, I left the dealership. On my way home, I then noticed that the service reminder message was still active on the dashboard, which added to my concern. Given the heavy traffic on a Friday evening, returning to the dealership was inconvenient and frustrating. However, I did go back and pointed out both issues--the incomplete water wash and the active service message. Both items were subsequently addressed, but this experience raised further concerns for me. While waiting for the second time, I couldn't help but wonder whether the rest of the service had been performed at all, or if only the documentation had been updated without the actual work being done. I sincerely hope that is not the case, but the situation has understandably left me disappointed and questioning the integrity of the service process. read more

Went in for 55k routine service, and the alleged VIP Car Wash where they vacuum and clean the interior of your car versus exterior. For the price the car wash is a joke. Still tons of bugs, and dried road debris, and some how there was a sticky tar-like splattered all along the driver's side of the door (which wasn't there when I took it in). I had to go home and basically wash the exterior again to get what they caused and missed. As for the inside, they vacuumed and cleaned the dashboard area (with spots you could tell they missed when viewed in the sunlight, and they totally didn't touch the trunk area in regard to vacuuming. Waste of money. My husband went in and had the car wash a few weeks prior, and they didn't get all the bugs off, but they acknowledged they didn't, and gave him a free car wash next time he came in - no mention of such a thing for me. Whoever was working the day my husband went they did a much better job with his car, and were actually willing to say they'd like to give it another shot next time. I don't know why they don't try to begin with. And they said I had wait 2 and half hours for the car wash, but I complied because I thought I'd be getting a better finished product than what I received. Won't bother getting that ever again. General 55k service was fine, as usual. read more
