Germaine Hyundai has been a headache every time I've gone. You schedule service weeks in advance to be done only to get there and wait an hour and be told "sorry, we don't have the part in for this. You'll need to reschedule for a few weeks later." If you give them your actual address and phone number as they insist when you first go there, they will send you spam every week. I've asked multiple times to be removed and last time was told I was taken off but to give it a few weeks. 6 months later I'm still receiving their spam to get an oil change on my electric car. A few months ago I bring one of my Hyundai's in for a coolant light that kept popping up. I'm told I need to pay $800 for a flush. Proprietary coolant. Special flush machine. You know.... So I pay for the flush, as well as the diagnostic to come to that conclusion. Bring it in a few weeks later because I notice the coolant is low, and they top it off. A few weeks ago I notice the warning light again, check the coolant and it's below the minimum. Yep, leaking coolant. I call, tell the service rep that I've been in for this issue previously and the coolant is leaking. I bring it in, they ask $250 for another diagnostic, $7,000 for a repair/replace of the radiator, radiator housing, coolant, flush, and damage to the crash bar. It's all bent up from an accident. "Why wasn't I told about this the last time it was here and I paid for a diagnostic?!?" Whoops, Germain Hyundai is not sorry. No apology given, just deflected blame on the service coordinator that's no longer employed. I asked why I have to pay a diagnostic again when I already paid for it and they failed to actually properly diagnose the problem. *crickets and blank stares* Germain will charge you exorbitant dealership prices for service, but the above is the sort of quality you can expect there. I would love if they showed accountability and care towards their customers, but that's not how Germain operates. read more

Service advisors are extremely rude, the old short one on the right absolutely hates having to do his job. Complained about us coming back after their service left a check engine light. Tried to tell me checking a code takes a day. Walked out the room while I was giving him the information he asked for about the phone number. I went in to get a simple Wheel Alignment, came out and now my car wobbles badly at high speeds and now have every sensor known popping in and out on my dashboard every 10 seconds of me driving. Oh! And the customer service... it wasn't great at all. There was a front desk with no one in it (which wasn't the problem), several workers there looked right at me and just stared but no one greeted me or asked about my needs until about 4 minutes later. Two of the Workers looked like they were from 2065 in a syfy film and the vibe they gave off was very advanced for what little they knew about the service I actually went in for.. what a joke. I submitted interest in a vehicle on their website and Adazya reached out to me to discuss options. After speaking with Adazya through email and clarifying my needs, she stated it's something that could be worked out. I make an appointment with her for 2pm today and drive 30 minutes to get to the dealership to find out she's not working. Someone else offers to help me and has the whole email conversation available to see what we discussed. After restating what Adazya told me, the best offer the person could offer still left the total cost of the vehicle over $5,000 more than what was discussed with Adazya. In addition, they tried to offer less than half the value of my trade-in. The total cost in the dealership was MORE than the MSRP even after their "discounted" price. This was a complete waste of 2 hours of my life, between driving there and back and spending an hour working with someone who clearly had no intention to honor the conversation that the original rep had convinced me was a sure thing. Germain will say anything to get you in their doors, then try to do anything they can to sucker you into paying more. Their business practices are shady at best. read more

Can't say 100% for certain, but I'm concerned that this dealership targeted me for profit (a young Asian woman). I'd been once before for a regular checkup and was satisfied with the service & price. The second time I went, I was going in for my 60k mile checkup. I paid approximately $800 because they claimed this was a milestone checkup. I begrudgingly paid. I just recently went in for my 65k mile checkup, they claimed they'd missed replacing the HSG belt and cleaning the transmission at the 60k mile checkup. They quoted me for $785 to do this work. If you are looking for a vehicle I strongly recommend you don't buy from Germain Hyundai of Columbus. I was online a couple days ago searching new vehicles was contacted online and told them what I was looking for. Was sent some information on it and a phone call I advised I would call back in 5 or 10 minutes. When I did I left a voice mail asking to contact me back. Not a word for them the rest of the day or the next day until I contact them and left a bad review. Was then replied to on my review by Larry Scott the general manager who said he was sorry for the bad experience and would be in contact with me about it. Here it is 2 days later and still haven't heard from him. So now I know where his employees learn their bad service from. All I know is I will never set foot in that place again. They are liars. Tell you one thing so you buy the car and then deny it when it's too late. My last purchase was a used SUV. Before buying I took it to my mechanic to get an unbiased systems check. The only thing they came back with was that the battery was almost bad. When I brought it back, I showed them the battery test and they agreed to put in a new battery. I few days later I completed the purchase. It never occurred to me I needed to confirm they put in a new battery. About 6 months later when I went in for an oil change and the battery test came back the same. I called the dealership and the guy said he'd look into it and get back to me. He never did and I had to call back. He hadn't done a thing. He said the battery was fine, the shop just wanted to sell me a new battery and again said he'd look into it. This happened multiple times. The last time i called back he said he'd go through the paperwork and see if they could find the old battery test or anything about replacing it. As expected, I never heard back from them. A couple winters later it was a cold morning and we loaded up the car to drive down to Florida for vacation. The car wouldn't start. Turned out to be the battery. read more

1st time car buyer, with an okay experience. I was interested in finding a slightly used car somewhere in the $12k range, and was shown a great 2 year old Elantra for $14k. My dad and I decided it was worth the extra dough for the extra car. I can sympathize with a 2 1/2 wait on a busy Saturday, but the finance guy we worked with fit just about every stereotype of a dealership seller. I get it. But what bothered me is when he tried to offer me a extended warranty plan because "I mean, come on, your dad's not gonna pay it" and pretty much refusing to show us some real numbers before signing. I waited close to 3 hrs to buy a car, not to have some finance guy disrespect my dad and manipulate me. My dad stormed out, and we negotiated all the extra plans, insurances, etc out of the deal (finally). I ended up with an alright deal just paying for the car, but not without some stress and emotional upheaval. Gosh. "Hatfield Hyundai" was just recently changed to "Germain Hyundai," in case there's some confusion. We live in Louisville, so the fact that we would hop in our car and drive 200 miles to Germain to buy our next car is a testament to just how amazing we've been treated. Not only was our sales representative, Brandon Smith, friendly, communicative, and just overall helpful in getting us any information on our eventual purchase, I was able to genuinely "test" the car, in that I was intentionally testing the lane assist, hitting small holes in the road to test the suspension, etc. in order to make 100% sure this was the vehicle for me. Not only was Brandon encouraging of that, he treated us like human beings rather than a potential commission, which is always something we value. There was a minor issue with pricing where we were initially misquoted, but the folks at Germain turned that mistake around and actually gave me the misquoted price in good faith, which is something I've **never** had happen before. Any other dealership would have been like "sorry about your luck" and left me feeling terrible about the experience. Instead, from beginning to end, we loved our experience. When we are in the market for another vehicle, we will happily make another 200 mile trip to once again shake hands with the friendly people at Germain. Thank you all so much! read more

Got an email saying that I should call, and gave me a phone number. Phone # was for Hatfield Hyundai, but OK - figured they're all connected, right? Asked for parts, spoke with a guy, who said he didn't know why they'd given me that number because they didn't sell Scion parts, and that there was no Scion dealer in Ohio. In the STATE, not just in Columbus. Which I find hilarious, because SCION WEST is part of the Hatfield outfit and it's basically right next door to the Hyundai showroom. In other words, this guy didn't know his ass from his elbow. Fortunately I found a different number, called it, and lo and behold they have the part I need. (More than I'd like to pay for it, but I need it before I leave to visit family in a couple of days, so I can't wait for Amazon or Ebay.) read more

I have purchased 3 vehicles at Hatfield in the last few years. The Sales and Finance teams were both out of this world and I am grateful for their time and efforts with my family and I. I have sent several friends to Hatfield who have also purchased vehicles. This review is in relation to my experience with Service... I had recalls on 2 of my vehicles, a 2017 Santa Fe and a 2017 Sonata. I made appointments on Saturday mornings so I could handle this myself. I had found recalls available by going to the Hyundai website and sifting through until I finally found something referring to recalls where I then plugged in my VIN's. I was told through this service I had 1 recall per vehicle. I took the Santa Fe in first. It was serviced adequately. The service was quick and finished w/in an hour. I had called in to request previously in the week to have the heater looked at and I was told that I could have all of my concerns addressed when I arrived with the vehicle. The Service Adviser said he could not troubleshoot anything more at the time of the appointment because he did not have the staff. I could have the heater checked but it would need to be during the week. I didn't like this answer as I had already been told by the same people that I could have it attended to at this time. I didn't go too much into it at the time since they were able to provide me the "fix" from Hyundai, the use of manual-mode on an automatic HVAC, but the adviser said he would reach out to me after speaking with a representative with Hyundai early in the coming week. That call did not come. This, of course, is despite the fact that when leaving I reminded him to contact me after speaking with Hyundai regarding the issue. Using manual-mode does work and as it's a problem on all Hyundai's, it is what it is. I took my Sonata in the following weekend. I pulled in and while checking the car in I was told there was an additional recall that I was not aware of. This secondary recall consisted of a part that, of course, was not in stock. I have since taken my Sonata to another local dealership for this recall. The Service team should have known about my appointment and the need of this part because the appointment had been made a couple weeks previously. The fact that the Service Adviser was surprised there was another recall that would require this part just gets to me. How hard is it to follow-up on appointments placed to see why they're coming and to verify parts are necessary. I tend to think this is good customer service and no one knows what that is anymore. To continue, I was told I'd need to provide the vehicle again as the part was not in-stock and I would not have access to a loaner to get back and forth to work. No loaner car provided, again, and taking more time out of my life to handle this. Not only did I track down the recalls, but I also have to make the vehicle available multiple times to resolve them. Not OK in my book. My suggestion is this, if there are recalls perhaps both Hyundai and Hatfield as the dealer should go through their records and say "hey, this guy bought this car that is affected by this recall, maybe we should send him a letter or email to let him know." No, that's not the thought process, that process more like sending junk mail to let me know that the vehicles I'm upside down can be traded in for new cars, that there is a discount on an oil change for oil that Hyundai says is not good for my car. I don't think these items are that far out of reality. Other car manufacturers can manage it, I would tend to think Hyundai and the dealer could figure it out, too. If SERVICE truly is the #1 goal, then a simple email notifying an owner of a recall would go a long way. Especially since the recall on the Sonata had been available for almost 1.5 years and it could have caused damage to the engine. No notification of that, but here's an email about new cars! To make matters worse, when I got the Sonata home Saturday I found a bulge on my driver-front tire. I know the bulge was not there previously, but was there after the visit. I can only assume the damage occurred when the car was taken for the car wash. Not sure I need a couple hundred dollar car wash... I took it to a separate shop for a replacement and found I needed all 4 tires replaced. This came as a huge surprise since Saturday I was provided a "comprehensive multi-point inspection." This report said my alignment was good and my tires were good. Neither were the case which makes me question the entire visit and what was or not completed correctly. In the end, I'm not sure how you can remedy this. I've purchased new tires, I'm scheduled to get an alignment. In my mind, I have a complete lack of trust with Hatfield Hyundai. I have purchased 3 vehicles with your dealership in the last 2 years. As for my future purchases, I do not see myself dealing with Hatfield again. read more

I went to Hatfield to test drive a vehicle, and made mention to the salesmen what I really wanted but couldn't find. After the drive, he was able to show me a recently traded in vehicle that was exactly what I wanted. We worked through the process and I purchased the vehicle pending inspection. When the inspection came back, I honestly expected it to say "all clear" regardless, but there were some issues with the car that were exactly what I had expected. The manager sat and talked with me and was VERY honest about what needed done. We both knew the price of the repairs was above my budget for the vehicle. There was no pressure attached; he said if this was the car I wanted that he'd go and have the issues fixed and sell me the car at the agreed upon price - no questions asked. Those words at the beginning of this review are the showcase of what I received while purchasing my vehicle. Number of visits: 1 Most recent visit: 5/2013 I recently took my car down here to the service department, to fix the Hyundai recall on the brake light issue. So this review is entirely for the service department. I've never looked for a car there. The staff there was friendly, and quickly attended to me when I got there. The whole process only took about an hour, so not incredibly short, but not too bad for a Saturday afternoon when probably lots of people were coming in. I was also happy they didn't try to talk me into getting anything additional done to my car. I usually expect that from mechanics. My service was free, so I don't know how competitive the service prices are, but I can say they did a quick, no-hassle, honest job. I'm not basing my review on this at all, but I'd probably stay away from the coffee when you're waiting. I went to Hatfield yesterday and actually had a good experience at a dealership. This is the 2nd car I've ever purchased and the first car was almost 10 years ago; I took my dad to purchase my first car so I didn't get ripped off. When I went to Hatfield, I had already test driven a few different cars, I had done my research, and I had a good idea of my max price, what I expected for a trade-in, and the interest rate I was looking for. Although I was well prepared to buy a car, I knew that I would walk away if they couldn't give me the deal I wanted. When I drove up, I went to a couple cars and saw the dreaded salesperson coming my way. At least that's how I always felt... I despised salespeople. When Jacob (Jake) came over he introduced himself and tried to make small talk and build that rapport they (sometimes) master. After a few minutes, he could tell I had done my research and eased off a great deal. I asked a few questions and asked to drive the first car I walked up to, which was the (starting) price I was looking for and had the features I wanted. Although it had JUST come off the truck, Jake was willing to get it ready for test drive. I mean, they hadn't even taken any of the tape off or let the excess air out of the tires and it only had 9 miles on the thing... When he had it all ready for me to test drive, he offered to go with me, but stated that he really didn't need to go - so, for the first time ever, I went on a test drive without a salesperson! I was a little surprised about this, but quite thankful (of course, I'm sure they took this opportunity to look over my car, in case I wanted to use it as a trade-in). It allowed me to relax more as I was driving and actually pay attention the the feel of the car, rather than listening to a salesperson "sell" me on the car. I drove around for about 10 minutes and came back. Jake met me outside and I was surprised he didn't give the typical response of "what will it take to get you in this car today?" He was quite frank and said that even if I didn't buy a car then, then it would be fine - maybe the next time. He asked what my time frame was and the reasons I was waiting for a couple weeks - I just said that it had to be the right deal. We started talking numbers and we did an initial write up of how much everything would costs (i.e., assessing how much I could get for my trade-in, interest rate, etc.). When everything came back, it was almost exactly what I was looking at, financially. We negotiated a little, but I was happy with the original offer and was able to get just a little more out of the deal, just a little... We worked out the paperwork, all the meantime Jake continued to be one of THE nicest salespeople I have ever dealt with (not just buying a car, but also in any other sales fields). I didn't feel pressured at all. The financing department was equally helpful. In the end, I drove off in a brand new car and I LOVE it! I would HIGHLY recommend going to Hatfield Hyundai and working with Jake. P.s., with this being my first time buying a car all by myself (look, I'm a big girl now :)), I was extremely nervous going into this, but came out feeling more confident. read more

Have recently gotten some work done at the service center, all recall work for my Sonata. However, after two days of excuses, they wanted to keep my car for yet another night. (In all fairness, I had a loaner they gave me.) The original issue may or may not have been fixed - I am having a mechanic look at it now - but the SAME SYMPTOMS ARE THERE. In other words, the mechanic decided that grinding while steering was acceptable, because he replaced the recall issue. A little intelligence would have went a long way on their end. This is the second issue I have had with the service department there, and will not be bothered going back. I will also be buying from a different dealership when I replace the car next year. read more

General manager said there was "no excuse" for the way I was treated yet his idea of compensation was to send me a $60 Olive Garden gift card. My advice? Visit Dennis Hyundai near I-270 and Sawmill Rd. Took the Santa Fe there for a warranty issue and Dennis was like a crack team of micro surgeons compared to Germoron. Love the Santa Fe! We leased a vehicle from this location later to find out from it being serviced at another dealership that there was an after market part installed into our car without us being aware prior to us taking the car off the lot. Due to this our warranty was immediately voided which only hurts us as the customer. In past 6 months our car has been serviced 7 times for the same issue without it being resolved. I have two young children and got a new car because we wanted to have a reliable family vehicle without issues and this has been a nightmare. Corporate is refusing a replacement vehicle due to the after-market part and the dealership has done nothing to help us. I would NOT trust buying/leasing a vehicle from this location. read more

Cons: looked up a car online and saw an estimated lease price and when I received my lease price, it was definitely a lot higher. Salesman explained the price was for another model, so I get it was a little false advertising since again, that estimated price was listed with a particular car I had in mind. Also, make sure you clarify your down payment amount. The down payment amount I gave was to include my trade in, but sales took it as my trade in would be one payment and I could do a separate amount. Do not lease or buy from this dealership. I have gone threw hassle after hassle with my lease.

I would give this business a -10 if I could. It is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with !! I have bought Honda's and Hyundai's my whole life and this has been the worse customer service. They ripped me off on the price of the car due to me being a woman. I paid full price for a 2019 that I should not have. Then , they throw in paying off my lease car for 3,000. 6-7 weeks later no check. First, I was told a few weeks, than 4-6 week and now , this week a guy calls me and tells me that it got slipped through the crack and they are just know working on it and I should get it this week?? NO CHECK . And that was on a Monday and it's Friday. Then for some financial unknown reason two days after I got financed through them, they sell my financing to chase for less than a one percent difference. I have never had that happen before. The only person I would deal with would be Dee, but unfortunately she has to answer to management and general managers of the dealership so I would not work with her. I have been very patient with these people until today. I just wrote a text to them letting them know they can have the car back and I don' care what it does to my credit!
