We thought to try the new Chinese Buffet in BA after seeing the television commercials. Nice building. Unless you are driving South on Aspen, it's difficult to find and enter crossing traffic at an odd location. The owners have invested a great deal of money on the building and decorations. A tank of giant goldfish entertain you as you wait to pay in advance. There are several areas for dining but we were seated in groups next to others. I prefer space between our group and other diners. The food was not hot, rather warm as is common for buffet style food. With the money spent on decorations and the building many of the signs were hand-lettered instead of printed with a label machine. If you want a wide variety this is the place. Lunch was $11.98 and soft drinks made it almost $30 for two for lunch. ($16.98 all day Sunday--yikes.) Nothing was spectacular. We won't return. We were disappointed. I wish them success. read more

Basically a pretty average buffet. Even though the name suggests a Japanese buffet but it's far from it. Most of the food could be found at any other Chinese buffet except for a few items including some sashimi, fish, and soup. Whether you would like to try these at a buffet is questionable, maybe only the salmon. A few other standouts are the squid salad and sushi selection. Wasabi tastes really strange, really really strange. The soups are bland but you can add tofu, onions, and bean sprouts in them. read more

The food was absolutely disgusting it had been sitting there I'm sure from the moment they opened and it was 7:00 p.m. the sushi was so overwhelmingly stale they had flies in their banana pudding and their staff was extremely rude and vile towards my family and me we sat down to eat and they came and made a huge scene in front of my entire family because they couldn't count them out of people we had and so they charged us again on top of an extra credit card fee and as I was leaving washing my hands an employee pushed me out of the way and told me to use a different sink because they were cleaning that one and then one of my family members ended up getting sick the next day from eating there and I called to ask for a refund and they demanded a doctor's note and just hung up on me repeatedly every time I tried to call do not go here it's absolutely awful and nasty read more

We went for crab legs for my husband, Chinese for me. I called ahead to make sure they had crab legs and was told yes, they started serving at 3:30. We arrived about 3:35, inspected the general buffet, and waited for the crab legs to be brought out. They were brought out about a half an hour later. We asked for garlic butter, and that was another 15 minutes to get that out. The Chinese food I had was good, but I've had better and also better variety. My husband said the crab legs were good but not exceptional. However, they did have a plentiful supply. We saw other patrons with plates, loaded with crab legs. The restaurant advised to please only take one plate at a time, and people did abide by that rule. Will we go back? Maybe, but probably not. Too many organizational issues. The cost was around $60 and I did not eat any crab legs just normal Chinese food. You also pay before you are seated at this restaurant, something we do not like. read more

The sushi area has various roll, shashimi, and nigiri options. There's an area for fried food, hot entrees, dumplings, and make your own soup and stir fry (Hibachi grill) stations, a hot seafood area, a cold seafood area, salad bar, and dessert section. Overall, the food isn't exceptional, but it's decent and the extensive array of options and price point aren't bad for a group of people. When it comes to Asian food buffets, I think the main attraction is perceived value. This buffet does a good job of that. Although it is more expensive than most, it does have some options that are not at most buffets: customizable ramen, extensive sushi roll and sashimi selection, Mongolian grill with beef,chicken,pork,squid and tofu, 6 different kinds of steamed buns, soft serve ice cream and hand dipped ice cream, and to top it all off a never ending chocolate fountain. Not really impressed with the food. The selection is incredible. The atmosphere is really good, perfect decor for what it is. The staff was great. The food was very hit and miss. Some items I literally could not swallow after I put it in my mouth. Some items were pretty good, like the Coconut Shrimp. The sushi literally made me gag. I tried most of the stuff that looked really unique. All of that was awful. I did not try very much regular buffet food. It may all be great, but what I tried was absolutely repulsive. If yelp were about giving 5 star reviews to restaurants that surveyed their competition in order to create a buffet of all their worst menu items, then Toyosu Buffet would get 5 stars. Upscale, modern, and exciting, the buffet layout is a confusing mess of sushi bar, hibachi grill, dessert island, bun and salad station, and entrees. Someone was kind enough to label the food items with cheap tape, but they rarely aligned with the dish on the serving table. Shrimp was chicken, chicken was beef, curry was steamed veg. Where's the plates, bowls, side plates? - all hard to find. Impressively, the food that could be identified was flavorless. So poorly seasoned that no combination of condiment could resuscitate that missed opportunity. Nothing was overcooked as is so often found in buffet, but everything was mediocre, moist, and uninspired. I usually can find one happy item for my plate, but not here. Not egg drop soup. Not chicken in some sauce, not sushi. Not even a good rice. Even the American items for kids were crap and for the price point, so disappointing. There are so many other buffets that can disappoint you and take far less of your money. read more

It was alright but not my favorite. If you're a fan of Asian buffets you'll probably like this one. I'm not generally a buffet person though. There is a lot of variety - maybe too much to sustain in both cost and quality. We tried the sushi and most was decent. Unfortunately my go to spicy tuna roll was one of the ones that I didn't care for. The edamame was very nice and I enjoyed the egg rolls and gyoza. The build your own ramen bar was nice as well. I almost wish you could just pay a lower price and get that alone. The hibachi was fine - nothing special but not bad. Most of the desserts looked store bought but the ice cream was good. My friend recommends the green tea ice cream. The service is lacking but was better than some prior reviews indicated. My server seemed overwhelmed trying to bus tables and also keep up with drinks for a large section. The decor is lovely but the tables are very close so privacy was lacking. It was quite noisy with children literally running around as well (though that's more on the parents than the restaurant lol). Despite the lovely building the atmosphere is quite casual for the price. My advice: try it for yourself and see what you think. read more

The variety is great. It is nice to see an Asian buffet offer something other than the typical buffet fare that you see everywhere else. Although the variety was refreshing, the quality was only a little above mediocre in my opinion and therefore did not justify the ridiculously high dinner price. I understand that they built a brand new pretty building and need to try to recoup cost ASAP, but I think they could lower their price point and they would see more repeat customers. I also really really really really really did NOT like the fact that we had to pay before we were even seated. That was really off-putting for us as first-time customers. We had to cough up $40 for two people before we even saw the buffet. We have not been back. We probably will one day strictly because of hunger and convenience not because it was a restaurant that we are craving. My girlfriends/co-workers all go to lunch together every wednesday and we were excited to try this place. The cost for lunch buffet is $12 which we thought was a bit steep. Also, you pay before you sit down to eat, which we did not like either. I did not like the food at all but I usually dont eat this type of food. I just wanted to be with the girls. No one thought the food was good and although NO ONE ever came by to fill our water and drinks. One girl kept coming by to pick plates that we were still eating from. We've tried every Asian buffet in the Tulsa area and have found all of them pretty muh, at best. Toyosu is the best in town. What I really appreciate is the variety, including ramen soup bar, several kinds of dumplings, sushi and hibachi and a very large variety of desserts. Before covid, this place was fantastic. Delicious food and excellent service. The only drawback was the price, but it wasn't outlandish. After they finally opened back up after covid, the place had new owners, and wasn't very pleasant. We gave it one more chance, and it is still terrible. We arrived at 11:30 am, and they only had three dishes on the buffet. An hour later, there were maybe five dishes, so the buffet was never full while we were there. The food is even worse since we were last there. It was not hot, only luke warm; the rice was so sticky that it formed a big ball in the pan. The food was so bland tasting, and the salad bar looked like it was there since the previous day and they just put lids over the containers. Service was non existant. Our waiter brought our drinks and that was the last time we saw anyone. We will not give them another chance. read more

I visited this place a couple of times, although I have yet to try the hibachi. Service is average, maybe less, nothing more. Sushi isn't good, so I wouldn't recommend it for eating, but for tasting. Food tends to be bland, but there are some exceptions; dumplings, chow mein, and a few others. The soup has flavor, but is watery, and the noodles are bland (not even the soup can balance it). If you are craving Asian food (or Chinese and Japanese specifically), there are definitely better options. If you don't really care, and need a place to eat for a night out, choose this place if there is nothing else left. Over all, if you put the other reviews into consideration, expect a 3/5 experience. But I had all my rings on the table and the female server gathered up the "trash" and grabbed the biggest one and either pocketed it or threw it away when I went to the bathroom to wash my hands after eating crab legs. Then had the audacity to ask me, "did you put it in one of your bags?" Like no I DID NOT! I didn't touch any of my rings until I came back from the bathroom and noticed it was gone. I asked her what trash she threw it away in and she honestly found it funny and avoided the question. I asked it twice. Some friends wanted to go try this Buffet that had Sushi, had two other friends that had said it was good., with that being said I had looked up the reviews on yelp and had seen it wasn't that great, so I thought I would decide for myself. This restaurant does not deserve any stars. Paid about $18 for a buffet meal, the only thing palatable was the pepper chicken, but every single thing was cold. The worst part was probably watching them pour the old trays into every new tray they brought out which I'm pretty sure is a health code violation. My husband also said his beer from the tap tasted like mold. All in all, horrible experience, I imagine we would have gotten food poisoning if we were able to eat anything. read more

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are about. It's a buffet, what are you expecting? I went today for the first time and it was exactly what I expected. The restaurant was very clean, there were so many food options and everything was fresh. The hot items were hot and the cold were cold. My drink was never empty and the staff was nice and attentive. I went on a Sunday for lunch, so the price was $18.99. I got a water and ended up spending $25 with tax and a 20% tip. If we would have went on a Saturday for lunch it would have been $12.99. I'll know for next time. I filled up on sushi, so I didn't get to try the hibachi or BYO soup bar, but they both looked yummy. I'll definitely be back! read more

I think people should calm down and give a new business a chance to work out the kinks before slapping a low review on the internet after your first experience. This place was a solid restaurant on our visit. We went for lunch on a Monday around noon, and we had great service. We were greeted at the front desk and seated right away. Our waitress was attentive, cleared our dirty dishes and kept our waters refilled (about 3 times). We sort of sampled around the buffet and tried as much as we reasonably could. For me, I really enjoyed the build your own noodle/Pho area. It was tasty and a fun, interactive element. All of the noodles, dumplings and fried items I tried were delicious. One stand out dish for me was the broccoli and chicken. The chicken was SUPER tender, and the sauce was delicious. Those were my favorite items. There was nothing I tried that I did not like, just things I liked more than others. The sushi was standard buffet sushi, but they had a lot more variety than I have seen at most places, which was nice. The only thing about this dining experience that wasn't great were the food signs on the buffet. A lot of them were incorrect, which may not seem like a big deal, but if someone has a food allergy, this could be a cause for concern. On a less serious note, sometimes you just don't know what is in the food, so the signs help a lot. I think once the opening jitters get worked out, this place will be a go-to restaurant for us.
