I love walking up Lock 29 to grab a drink to take along with me on my walks! Their parking lot is extremely difficult to deal with if there's some cars there, so I recommend parking down by all the shops & walking up! Easy access on the sidewalk, or you can cut off the trail like I do to get up there. It's worth the hassle!

A coffee shop that I can easily visit between hikes in a national park? Heck yes!…read more I stopped by the Peninsula Coffee House and Market during a weekend trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park this year. I was lucky and snagged a parking space in front of the business; their parking is VERY limited and I'm surprised I didn't have to use a lot that was across a bridge. (Note that the bridge is right by the coffee shop, so it wouldn't have been a long trek at all.) I ordered a Butterscotch Latte and a Sausage, Biscuit & Egg breakfast sandwich; snagged a seat near the front of the store; and settled in for a relaxing break between my hikes. The coffee was excellent and the sandwich really hit the spot! While seating in the lower level is limited, I've learned reading other reviews that there is an outdoor patio and an upper level too. Their website mentions that they run a sundry market here too; however I didn't spend much time shopping in the interest of not stretching my wallet too far during my travels. I also didn't check out the wine cellar in the lower level. While this shop is little, it clearly has a lot to offer, and I am so glad I found it during my visit to Cuyahoga. I'd absolutely stop by again during future visits to the area...and I'd love to time my next visit so I can check out that wine cellar!

We felt like we stepped back in time having a perfect, quiet morning of high class tea. The owner…read moreis so hospitable, her name is Chris, and she recommended the Celebration tea (and cozy apple chamomile) to go with our delicious tea sampler. Everything she baked was scrumptious and homemade. At other tea places, I felt the pastries and apps were store bought. But she clearly made everything with love, and you could tell by the taste and presentation. We all got to pick out our own tea cups from a variety of beautiful sets. I would love to come back soon!

We made a reservation via email and the staff were quick to respond. The menu isn't large and tea choices were more limited than other tea rooms I've been to. I chose the mint tea and my friend got the chamomile. We each received our own small tea pot that had its own chamber inside to steep the tea. The pots weren't decorative but they got the job done well and I liked that I didn't have to strain the tea myself. We were allowed to pick out our own teacup and saucer. For lunch, I tried the broccoli salad with potato soup and herbed bread. My friend got the broccoli cheese quiche and soup. My salad didn't have much dressing on it - I would have preferred more but I believe it was a premade salad. The soup was ok as well. She said her quiche was tasty. Unfortunately I forgot to grab pictures. I would rate the food 3/5 but the tea a 5/5. Overall, I think the tea house is a nice option considering there aren't many in the area and I'd try it again.

The barista (who I believe is the head barista) went above and beyond by giving us a full "tour" of the drink menu, explaining each type of drink and helping us decide what to order. She was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. She even asked our names and introduced herself, which made the experience feel personal and warm. I didn't catch her name, but her hospitality really stood out and made this first visit such a great experience. You can tell they care about their customers here. I'll definitely be back! Also my drink was so yummy.

Personally, it was too sweet for me and I was expecting the cherry jam to be more tart. But I do enjoy trying new flavor combinations! I also got a bagel with the garlic herb cream cheese. As you can see in the picture, the bagel texture looked off to me,l with the pale flaky bits, but I do not believe it was from unbaked pieces or staleness since it tasted fine to me. They gave me two things of cream cheese, and so I appreciate the amount they gave! I ordered on DoorDash and they prepped the food so fast! I got it delivered to school and was very happy upon receiving a fresh, hot sandwich!
