Dropped our car off first thing Monday for an inspection after being told to. Heard nothing all day until we called--then were told it would be done Tuesday. Tuesday came, still no updates, and when we called again they said they wouldn't get to it until Friday. Our car sat there for 36+ hours with zero communication. I'm a fan! This is one of the service stations that's rough around the edges but really gets the job done (and at a very reasonable price). I have to admit I originally came here out of necessity. Commuting out of the Malverne train station for work Monday-Friday, I needed a place to drop off my car within walking distance of the station. It seems like Jerry and the team at Towne Service Station almost build their business hours around this principle (opening at 7am and closing at 6pm, which is a bit early of a closing time for most commuters but enough to accommodate many). Better yet, they're right across the street from the train station. Three times now I've had to bring my car in and have chosen Towne Service each time (with the idea of dropping my car off on my way into work and picking it up on the way home). Each time I called right at 7am and was told to bring my car in on my way to the train station, and each time my car was ready for pickup in time for my commute home. Better yet, the job is done right (fixed on the first shot) with only a small hole taken out of my wallet. I've never been upsold, underpromised, or unsatisfied. I have tried Jerry a few times, the last straw for me was when I had a nail in my tire and needed a quick patch job. He told me to leave my car and come back in 4-5 hours, he was busy. Funny, he had no cars in the garage. It takes 10 minutes to patch a tire. read more

Father - son team, honest and great service. Had a lot of issues with my old car and they always helped me out. They fixed up my car multiple times but the last time I went in they told me its time for a new car - not worth to fix my old car again, just a waste of money. I appreciate their honesty because I don't know anything about cars. Other places would have take advantage of me not knowing anything about cars and keep fixing it to make money. I have heard bad things of them telling people they need stuff that they didn't. I found out first hand today. I took my car there for something very minor thinking it would be fine, wrong, they told me I needed $1000 worth of crap. My car runs great mind you. They tried to stick me of for stuff I didn't need. Crooks! My friend who told me they were crooks was right. I took my car to another shop they said my car was great was out the door easy peasy. read more

My husband took his truck here after a friend suggested this shop. He was quoted one price for some work, and being reasonable he decided to come back for the work. Well wasn't he surprised when after the work was finished they tried to say it was almost $200 MORE! He had to argue back and forth with the shady owner Jerry who finally charged the price quoted. The kicker is, the problem is STILL not fixed!! They claim the parts installed were new, etc., and they "don't have the tools" in his shop to check further. So now we're out over $425 and he still has no inspection because the check engine light is on. DO NOT patronize this shop!!! Another helper was correct! They are crooks!! Too bad Yelp makes me give a star- they aren't worth that either. A half would be generous! read more

I've taken my car here 4 times, including two days after Sandy. They are the most fair and honest repairmen I've met in 14 years of car ownership. Twice they didn't even charge me because they fixed what ended up being a really minor issue. They've earned my trust after such good, honest work. The only downside is they don't have a waiting area. They are in downtown malverne, do it's easy to go get a cup of coffee elsewhere and wait. I really love this place and am thankful they are so close to my house and the LIRR station. read more
