I'm a huge fan of subs so anytime I come across a new spot, I like to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was left disappointed, not the worst I've had but also not good at all. I ordered the specialty buffalo chicken sandwhich and at a glance it was stacked with chicken and vegetables, I mean it was huge. I then had my first bite and immediately was taken back ..... the bread was not fresh at all, really tough and chewy, the vegetables also didn't seem fresh and the chicken itself was cold and ok at best. I was really exited to try this place based on reviews and Instagram postings but it's just not for me. If others are enjoying the food, good for them, but I ended up throwing away 1/2 my sub as it was not satisfying and way too hard to consume. read more

I've been seeing this place popping up on my social media like crazy, and it's on the way home from work so I decided to check it out for myself. I found myself in an unassuming strip mall and wasn't initially impressed by the approach, but walking in to a radio jamming "Spirit in the Sky" and the smell of toasting bread, I knew I was in the right place! I met the owner, Dan, who was definitely proud of everything he's accomplished here in a short time, and before I could finish a conversation, my food was ready. I went with my standard go-to for any sub shop, a Cuban sandwich, and they did okay. Sandwich was a bit wet, sliding apart as they tried to wrap it, and as I tried to eat it later, but it's a little departure from the norm with shredded roast mojo pork instead of the traditional sliced. Tasty, but different, and probably not something I'd do again, just get regular cold cut subs from now on, I got it... The lovely Spensyr opted to go with a Caprese salad, which apparently only comes with salami, even though the sub of the same name has prosciutto? I did get to taste, it looked fantastic, and tasted pretty good (even if she did leave off the tomatoes)... I'd give it another shot, but I think next time I'd go with a more "standard" hero, like ham & cheese. There are seats inside and out for anyone who wants to eat here, but this seems like the kind of place you grab and go, sthe only decor is police and fire patches donated by customers. read more

I was really excited to try this place as we've seen many Instagram postings on it. We reviewed a few Yelp review and saw some negative point but figured let's try it anyways. Let's just say, we should've went with our gut feeling about the reviews. Whoever said their bread not being fresh is correct! It is not. It is super hard and chewy. If the bread ain't good, you can just throw away the whole sandwich. Which was pretty much what we did. Their signature press panini Italian was decent and tolerable. What a disappointment!!!! Was really wanting it to be good. After watching a Instagram video, I can't believe they serve a couple day old bread. Whoever supplies the bread here should be fired. The bread was falling apart during my bites and had no crisp at all. The 1 is for the cold cuts, they did have a decent taste. Guys, the bread is what makes a sub. I believe you should know what you are serving before you serve it to a customer. Do not ask for the Semolina bread. Maybe the other type was fresh. Sorry not a fan will not be back. I believe they have a gnat problem also. Was dining in and was getting bit every minute. That also didn't make it pleasant. I believe their AC in the place should be looked into. Great little sandwich shop! The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Everything is made to order! Order at counter, get it to go or grab a seat. There are more than just sandwiches on the menu- cold subs, specialty subs, soups, salads, hotdogs! The Pitbull Pastrami was fantastic- Pastrami, Swiss cheese, onion, slaw and the Waggy's special sauce, same with the Dogo Cubano. The kids meals are a great deal as well. Everyone gets packed into the corner for picking up and ordering. Ordering is like a game of telephone. I told the guy at the counter my orders and he wrote them down. Well, I was hoping that town hero would be my new "go to" for subs. But, I think the fling is over. I've been three times now and had three different subs. The first one was the Americana, which was my favorite. The second one was the Italian, which was OK, and today I had the roast beef, which was disappointing. The thing about roast beef is, you have to know the difference between sliced roast beef and beef lunch meat. But I had today did not have the texture, the color and most importantly the flavor of sliced roast beef. Honestly, it looked like the texture of ham lunchmeat And had a flavor similar to Arby's roast beef. If you've ever had Arby's, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway, they are doing some things well, so I would eat there if I needed something to eat and it was handy. But, if I'm going to go out of my way for a sub, I'm going to head to Boca Raton to V&S. My husband absolutely loved his Chicago Dog and will rightly give this place 4 stars in his review. And I thought my regular build your own hot dog was good. To back up, my husband had been craving a hot dog and I found this place open on yelp. So that's what we both got here. However, I really think I should have gotten one of their subs. The subs looked amazing, huge, overstuffed, etc etc and were what most people doing takeout and pickups were getting. Just a note, they cook their dogs on their grill press. They were nice enough to do them well done as requested. And speaking of that, everyone really was so nice here. They were busy and still took the time to check on us. For my build your own, I just got mustard and relish. I forgot how neon green the non-dill one can be. Yowza! My husband's 12 inch hotdog was fortunately cut in half. As it was topped with a ton of stuff , it made it easier to eat and to save half for his dinner later. They have several tables inside -- where we sat -- but most of their biz while we were there was takeout. This place is well worth a stop if you're nearby. First thing, I walk in and like many sub spots, I'm wondering what end of the sub I'm ordering from. Each place has their own little system where I have to shuffle my way into the correct spot. So I inquired with the young lady at the end. Or was it the beginning? She was very...odd, let's just say. Kind of annoyed that I disturbed the force by asking the question "do I order from here?". And non-committal too. In any event, I believe that I was in the correct spot. Placed my order. Shuffled my way down and the first real odd thing outside of the reluctance on the part of the staff to let me know where I needed to stand, was the fact that they wouldn't let me know what ingredients they had available. I mean, you can't see them. They pointed to small lawyer-like print on the wall (which they condescendingly pointed out) but I didn't have my reading glasses on. So it was like a weird guessing game where the dude prepping wouldn't tell me what ingredients were available to me--I had to Jeopardy it out (pickles for 200? Olives for daily double?). I kid you not. And the regulars watched on with patronizing bemusement. It was altogether a very uncomfortable vibe. Like I wanted to leave. Zoinks! Anywho--the sub was around 15-17 bucks. Not a cheap sandwich (and of course, there's that tip thing on the screen) but I was excited as it did look delicious. And it was. Except for one thing. One of the reasons why I came here and didn't go to subway where I know where to stand and how to order, was that subway has bread that stains your hand with some bizarre chemical smell. And guess what? So too does this place. I have no clue why they use this garbage in the big beautiful bread but they do. And my hands smelled like it after repeated washing for about 18 hours. Don't believe me? Think I'm lying? Call me out. Let's do a smell test together. Are you buying? Suggestion--dump the bread chemical and offer a more amenable staff interested in helping the customer out and you'll have a line out of the door. Oh and drop 3 bucks off the price.
