I was in the area and pulled up my Yelp app to see what was nearby, and John Smith Subs came up, so I decided to give it a try. The location is a standalone building with plenty of parking and even a drive-thru, which makes it super convenient for takeout. I ordered to go, and the lady at the window was very kind and helpful. I went with a regular ham and cheese sandwich with mayo, lettuce, and tomato. The sandwich itself was just okay. It tasted fresh, but it seemed like there was little to no mayo on it, which made it a bit dry for my liking. Would I give it another try? Probably not. When I was growing up in Miami next to my HS was a sub shop since they closed many years ago I've never had a better steak sub until last week when I stopped in at Jon smiths. Steak sub is so damn delicious it takes me back to my HS days. The staff is always wonderful. When I arrived, the nice gentleman asked me what I would like. I told him it was my first time and what should I get. He said the reason we are in business is the steak sandwich I said so he said if you want the best of the best try the steak bomb I said sold give me a foot-long and that started my journey into the abyss of delectable deliciousness... the sandwich was incredible. This place was on Seamless for a while! A lot of people recommended we order from here, so I obviously had to try. Everything is pretty easy to customize and we ordered some of their famous "steak bomb" sandwiches. It's basically a really loaded philly cheesesteak! Wish they had given us a lot more napkins with our order, because everything was very saucy. Fries were really good, but not to my boyfriend's liking since they weren't "cripsy". I like them on the softer side though. They should have "extra crispy" as an option? They put the fries into a "large" soda cup which was interesting. I sort of feel like it makes the fries at the bottom a little too soggy, but I can't really complain. (See pics in my review for the size of the large cup! Yes, I ate a lot of the fries before taking the pictures.) Cookie was a simple chocolate chip cookie. Can't go wrong getting one if you're ever craving one. Was craving a cheesesteak sandwich. Got the large steak and cheese with grilled onions. That's the only thing I ordered (through the drive thru). Had to pull up. Waited approximately 8 minutes finally went in. There were 4 girls standing around my sandwich watching it being wrapped. Anyway had to make a quick stop at Publix on the way home and when I got back in the car there was no scent from the sandwich. I unwrapped it thinking I got the wrong sandwich but there it was no scent from the steak or onions at all. I had to put it under the broiler to crisp up the bread. This is my favorite sub place period. I have been come here since high school. After eating here I can't go back to Subway. I just can't. The Italian cold cut and pastrami bombs are my favorite subs here. They really pack the ingredients into those sandwiches. They also have the best french fries. They're better then McDonald's. Best cheesesteak subs ever!!! Love this place. The sandwiches are delicious. The bread is soft and sandwich ingredients are fresh. The steak subs are my favorite. Isn't that what they're famous for. I get mine with extra cheese, some mayo, and onions. It's cooked fresh always and still comes out quickly. Their fries are so good too. They overflow the cup, so I never feel the need to get a medium or large. I like how they're not overly greasy and they are the perfect amount of salty. The staff is nice. The inside is clean. I"ve moved from West Palm Beach about well over 10 years now but I frequent at least twice a year. I still keep going back to Jon Smith's because it brings back memories but most of all it is damn good subs. It's not a Philly style cheesesteak and it doesn't brag to be one. My favorites from this location is the Chicken Bomb w/ extra cheese, jalepenos, mushroom, grilled onions, mustard, peppers, and bacon. Its heaven! Their menu has grown extensively and they now serve up so much more than they ever did 10 years ago. They're still in business and have grown much larger. Meh. I ordered a 12 in Italian, which is basically the only thing I ever order at a sub shop. $9.99 + which is pretty steep. When they handed me the bag I thought I'd only gotten a half. It was seriously under sized and nothing special taste wise. This is the third sub place I've tried in the area and I'm still looking. Anyone who owns a sub shop around here should go to Totally Awesome Subs on Lake Worth Rd for some lessons. I'm guess I'm going to limit sub days to when I'm south. read more

I am down here for a month for training at the airport and I wish this was a more national chain but it could probably lose its quality there. I always judge a place by its meatball sub, usually cheap and easy and even places like Subway make it taste bad. And this one was OUTSTANDING!!!
